Tyger7
Overview: -Estimated achievement difficulty: 5/10 -Offline: 47 (930http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg) -Online: 4 (70http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg) Need to complete The Crucible and gift a friend an item. Requires Crucible Pass which is on the back of the game manual. Must have online connection to redeem. -Approximate amount of time to 1000http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg: 35-40 Hours -Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1+ (Suggesting 2. You can start on Apocalyptic from the start but will need to fully level to 30 for an achievement. You will also want good items and be maxed out to complete The Crucible. I suggest playing through on Easy/Normal and then playing your New Game+ on Apocalyptic. Once you have the achievement for Apocalyptic, you can change the difficulty down to Easy. This should make the game much easier). -Number of missable achievements: You must complete all side quests before finishing the game and starting a new game+. The side quests do not carry over and you will have to do them all over again. -Do cheat codes disable achievements ? None -Does difficulty affect achievements? Yes. Stackable difficulties. Highest difficulty to beat it is Apocalyptic achievement wise. Can do so on new game+ if you want. -Glitchy achievements: Yes (various reports on certain ones not unlocking for everyone) -Unobtainable achievements? No -Extra equipment needed? Crucible Pass REQUIRED for 2 achievements. It is on the back of the manual. Introduction This is an 3rd person hack and slash game with puzzles and RPG elements. This is a sequel to another game, though you do not have to have played it to enjoy this one, though it is suggested for storyline reasons. First off to let you know, there are collectibles and side quests that you must complete besides just beating the game. This game has you backtrack more than a couple of times, and collecting the various collectibles can be very time consuming and not too enjoyable. Because you must do a new game + anyways, you might as well start on normal and do the new game + on Apocalyptic. Difficulty achievements do stack. Surprisingly there isn't any combat related achievements. You will need the Crucible Pass to complete this game, which is in all new game boxes (so if you buy it used, you will have to purchase it in the marketplace). As with all RPG type games, you will encounter a lot of loot. Try your best not to waste your money or sell useful things. Specifically, any item with the name in purple is something you want to hold on to. The game's save system is only meant for 1, but a backup here and there is highly suggested on either USB or Cloud. There have been a few reports of various glitches, some meaning you cannot continue on with the game and must start over. I personally experienced one where the primary quest did not finish and I did not get my achievement, but could continue to the next quest. Playthrough 1: Any difficulty/Collectibles and Side Quests I suggest just starting on normal and focusing on completing all side quests and collectibles. This isn't too hard of a game, though there is a lot of falling that can happen. One very important thing to remember, is that for New Game+ your side quests and collectibles do NOT carry over. This means you would have to start all the way over from scratch on everything, so be very careful when deciding to finish the game. The point of "no return" is the Well of Souls where you go to fight the last boss. However, even after beating him, the game gives you one more chance to reload your last save before starting a new game. Playthrough New Game+ You can play on Apocalyptic if you have not done so yet. Focus only on primary missions. You will now be able to get Death to level 30. Crucible Pass Content With this pass you can gift a friend an item for an achievement. You can also play the Crucible Arena having to pass all waves (100 of them) in one sitting and then beat a boss. This is best done once you are level 30 and have very good gear. You have 2 major options for playing it on the Easy setting. One is to complete the game on Normal, then Apocalyptic. After you get the achievement for Apocalyptic, you can choose to load your save instead of starting a New Game+. Do so, and put it on easy. Now complete The Crucible. The other option is if you beat the game on New Game+ the first time around, you can just throw it on easy and work to level 30. After that you can do The Crucible. Conclusion This game isn't very difficult, but it has time consuming elements such as collectibles, side quests, backtracking, normal travel, climbing, looting, gear switching, and puzzles. Also, not many people love to play a game twice. Is this a few day rental completion? Not likely. If you have an online game rental account (like Gamefly) or if you purchase it, this could be a nice game to have a completion on, especially if you completing the 1st Darksiders game. You might as well wait until you have completed the game and gotten to level 30 and have a lot of good gear for this (you can start a new game+). You may not complete all waves until you are at least level 25, meaning you have to do it on a new game anyways. Waves 1-25: This is the first set. You must defeat the Guardian. Found on the back of the game manual. You may fight this enemy after completing all of the Crucible waves in one visit (you can die and restart the waves in sections of 25). Please see "Is There Anyone Else" achievement description for more info on the Crucible. Once you see him available in the wave options, choose to fight him. A structure will rise and you will have to climb it to the top. If for some reason your character is glitching while climbing (happens sometimes), go ahead and reload. Once you unlock the right to fight Wicked K, you will always have the option. Wicked K blocks a lot but isn't too bad on easier difficulties. Tyger7
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1530/5-hN2p0=.jpgSoul Crushing 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat The Wailing Host Story related, can't be missed. This is the boss for "City of the Dead". It is a bigger boss that is stationary. Just keep attacking it until it sends skeletons, then until you are prompted to rip off it's mask with . After that, repeat again and you will destroy it. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1530/5-7KaH0=.jpgIt's Not Over 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat Samael Story related, can't be missed. This boss is for one of the very last primary quests in the game when you must get the Demon Key. He keeps retreating to his throne and you must avoid fire from the ground. Defeat him for the achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1530/5-2BCP4=.jpgClipped Wings 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat Archon Story related, can't be missed. This is a boss battle while doing the "Stains of Heresy" primary quest. Attack him while he is down and while he is up, wait for his shield to vanish to use Deathgrip to attack him more. It is a pretty straight forward battle and he is maybe a little more than medium difficulty. It might take a few tries. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1530/5-viEiE=.jpgDust to Dust 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat the Guardian Story related, can't be missed. As you progress in the story, you will awaken this giant. It will run off to Stonefather's Vale. Here you must confront it. It only has two main attacks. The first you try to dodge but is pretty tough (while you are riding your horse). Once his arm is down, shoot underneath it with Redemption (the gun) and blow up the bombs. Now you can attack the stone using Deathgrip to pull you up to to it. When he shoots the yellow spiked ball, shoot it until it hovers in the air. Make the Guardian be between you and the yellow spiked ball so that it hits him. Now you have to climb up the arm to get close enough to Deathgrip the stone. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1530/5-gj4wc=.jpgCrow Carrion 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Defeat the Crowfather Story related, can't be missed. You obtain this after defeating the first boss. Just attack and dodge when needed to easily complete the fight. Afterwards, go interact with the Crowfather whom will be on the ground. Puppys
Thanks for another great guide Tyger! I did want to point you in the direction of my Shaman quest thread. Its a side-quest and I think it might be missable to those going back through the game after beating it. I cannot find a single stingers nest to get the Dew required for the mission, and I believe it is because I beat the game and the nests are not respawning anymore. I spent a good 5 hours looking for one, and am ready to just call it quits and start a new game. Once again, not 100% sure, but this may not be possible to those going back after beating the game mopping up quests because I cannot get a stinger to pop up to save my life!!!!! If you find one, or someone figures out a fix, let me know if it was just my problem or something that happens after beating the final boss. EDIT: I found a stinger in the crucible !!! it counted for my mordent dew!!! I'm extremely happy. Edited August 19, 2012 by Puppys

EDIT: I found a stinger in the crucible !!! it counted for my mordent dew!!! I'm extremely happy. You must have done most of the game before accepting that side quest? I see those stingers quite frequently and in the Shadow Forge there was a nest that kept respawning every time I ran through it, even when running out then back again. It was the first nest in the game (but I have not revisited yet). Thanks for the feedback so far, the thing that's making this go slow is the walkthrough part I'm trying to finish. Poganin
The "Gnomad" achievement isn't story related. It relies on finding 4 well-hidden collectable evil garden gnomes.

Yes, I completely beat the game before I even knew about the blind priestess or whatever, hahaha! but the nests seem to not spawn after you defeat the boss, at least not for me anyway. Quid Squid
For the gifting achievement the person you send the gift to has to have played the game or it tells you they don't have a saved game and will not allow you to send it which means no achievement. ItBeNickYo
For Full Potential all you have to do is buy everything from Thane and Draven. Thane is in the Forge Lands and Draven is in the Dead Lands in the Eternal Throne.

I will change description. I guess I got lucky when I sent it randomly For Full Potential all you have to do is buy everything from Thane and Draven. Thane is in the Forge Lands and Draven is in the Dead Lands in the Eternal Throne. I'm close to getting to land of dead so i shall update with a full list

Thane is in the Forge Lands and Draven is in the Dead Lands in the Eternal Throne. Make that Thane or Draven. I got this to pop after buying everything Draven had and nothing from Thane. Thought I'd put that out there...

Thought I'd put that out there... dont know about just Draven, but when you purchase everything Thane has nothing happens. so it's either just Draven or both Thane and Draven. fuelstaind
Make that Thane or Draven. I got this to pop after buying everything Draven had and nothing from Thane. Thought I'd put that out there... Thane has about a dozen moves to purchase. Once you get to Draven, he has all the moves that Thane has, plus about another 10 special move upgrades to buy, once you buy the last of them FROM DRAVEN, the achievement pops. Bugs264
as a heads up, you mention that Karkinos is one of the bosses you need to kill for Like A Noss. the one you want is Argus the Deposed King.
Mariachi 43
I know you said you didn't need help, but I felt it any way. For the "Diamond Geezerton" achievement, you do NOT need to get every skill in one tree. You simply need to put one skill point in the final skill in either tree. Both of these skills become available for upgrade at level 20. Also for the "Full Potential" achievement, you need to buy all the basic moves from Thane in Tri-Stone and all of the advanced moves from Draven in the Eternal Throne.
