with the specalists you can do survival missions in each area eventually you get each gang versions (can take ages) or while doing the car thefts missions you will steal a car near each gang at least once and can keep your wanted level as long as you need to get the specalists though i havnt been able to get gang taunts figured out so i just started a new game just to do the challenges...again

You can get extra Luchadores and Deckers specialists by re-doing the hard mayhems in their areas.(Luchadores on Arapice Island, Deckers in Ashwood)

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate that.

You could turn on Rival Gangs in Saints Row 2 after beating the game, why would they take that feature out in the sequel?

You could? I never knew that.

Also, if you start a new game, the stats carry over, so if you haven't taunted 50 gang members, you can just start a new game and walk the streets taunting your little butt off, and it will pick up from where you left off in your first game.

Do you get to keep all your upgraded abilities and weapons if you start a new game?

no, no, no. it's already been proven that challenges get reset when you start a new game.

This is such a cunt, alot of the challenges, vehicle deliveries, assassinations etc, rely on you not totally wiping out all gangs or stag.

Such a fucking dumb way to create a game to completely remove shit you need.

Exactly, im so pissed i bought this instead of Assassins Creed:Revelations. im not buying another saints row game again. dumb ass developers..... :uzi: ive been waiting forever for the random phone calls to give me the freaking deckers but all they give are the luchadore and morning star assholes. i guess ill focus on the other stupid challenges. until i get ACR.

I heard people base buying games on the ease of getting achievements...I guess you don't play video games for fun, because this game is insanely fun.

If you want the gangs to reappear without starting over OR joining some random person's game, you could go to the coop menu, load up your game, then cancel inviting someone at the "invite friends" screen. It will load up your game, but the gangs will still be there.

Just tried this and drove around for about 10 minutes. Didn't make the gangs reappear.

Edit: Tried it again...and now it is working. So if it doesn't work at first keep trying it out.

I agree that having fun is what matters but it's still a bad design to have achievements and make them hard to finish once the game is complete.

which is exactly the point, since having fun IS my first priority which means I want to complete the game before doing the achievements but if that will make it hard on me that means if I want the achievement I have to think about them first.

Which takes away from the fun of playing the game.

EDIT: But it sounds like there is a way to get around it so I'll probably have my fun first anyway.

There are many ways to get around this.

I took out all the gangs before Act 2 was done, and I did most of the challenges, hitman and chop shop after I completed story mode. It wasn't much harder than when the gangs were around.

For specialists kills, simply stay still and wait for a survival call. You'll get one every two minutes as long as you're not driving or in an activity. Hit the area where the call is and you'd get your specialist kills over time. The calls never stop even after you do 26 survivals to complete the required challenge. Same for Brutes.

For taunts, do a chop shop that spawns gang people. Lure them all to a shop that you own, shoot their cars till they catch fire to stop the gang members from leaving. Go into the shop to erase wanted level, run out and taunt the bunch of them, going in and out of the shop until you taunt everyone. Once done, get onto the chop shop vehicle to spawn the wanted level again. Rinse and repeat. You can get all 50 taunts doing this quickly.

For STAG specific vehicles, which are only two of them. The N-Forcer would be in your garage. Give it away. You won't be needing it anyway when you could call a chopper or VTOL to fly around. Driving is too slow. The Condor always spawn when you call up the chop shop for it.

For gang specific hitman, the gangs and hos required will always spawn in the area where you'd need to do the hit.

Ergo, nothing is missable.

I thought i'd be smart about this, Made sure to not take out the gang completely, Got all my taunts, challenges, Specialists.

Got it all and took over the gang, Go to assassinations, my first one is to kill a few of the wrestler dudes to lure out my target. FUUUUUUUUCK

haha but its not that bad, I found if you go to the area and kill a few innocent civilians your Notoriety for that gang goes up, So just kill a few civilians find the gang, jump into a store walk back out and they should be there to taunt, or whatever Hopefully? I had already done the taunting so i just killed them and went after the target, but it should work like how i said.

Rather than slag off a pretty awesome game and the developers of said game why not read the challenge guide that is a sticky on the main page, theres a pretty straight forward way of getting your gang taunts and specialist kills after the game is complete, i followed that and had no problems.......
