Roadmap

Estimated achievement difficulty: 5/10

Offline achievements: 44/49 (920http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg)

Online achievements: 5/49 (80http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg)

Approximate time for 1000: 25-40 Hours

Minimum number of playthroughs required for completion: 2

Number of Missable achievements: 4 (100% Dark Crystals, 100% Domination, 100% Destruction, Rock On)

Glitched achievements: 2 (Treasure Hunter, Perfect Horde)

Does difficulty affect achievements: N/A

The main point to note before starting Overlord II is that you have to decide between domination or destruction for each run through, i.e. enslaving or killing everyone you come across, otherwise you are going to need more than two playthroughs. Two is the bare minimum as you can only get one of these to 100% each time playing through the game. All other achievements (even Ghost/Dark Fay, with use of multiple saves) can be unlocked in one playthrough giving a maximum (offline) of 835http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg in one pass taking into account the two related town destroyer/dominator achievements (again, you can only go one way or the other each playthrough with these).

Completion Playthrough

Your first time through the game you should focus on getting all upgrade/collectible achievements, non-story quest achievements and killing related achievements as well as your selected tyranny path achievements, leaving just the other Tyranny achievements for your second run. Be careful not to glitch the first command upgrade (If it enters the gate during the cutscene it disappears making "Treasure Hunter" and "Perfect Horde" unobtainable) There is also one missable Dark Crystal near the end of the game in the Wasteland Sanctuary Town. Also be sure you follow your tyranny path strictly, though you can get both the Crystals and glitched achievements on a second run if you mess up the domination/destruction achievements you'll have to play through the game a third time to obtain them. "Rock On" is technically missable, but you have many chances to unlock it and the achievement is easy enough that this isn't really an issue. All other achievements you can backtrack for after you finish the game if you missed something.

It’s useful to avoid buying/upgrading anything as much as possible, simply making a save before buying items needed for an achievement when you have the resources and then reload as, unlike the lifeforce gathering achievements (use as much lifeforce as you need/want), you have to hold 50,000 gold at one time thus spending it makes this achievement take longer to obtain. You should be able to finish the game easily just with one upgraded weapon, armour and the Evil Eye helm (which you should get ASAP as it doubles lifeforce intake) as well as perhaps some cheap minion upgrades. You'll also need to make a save just before draining Queen Fay (there's a Netherworld gate close by) to make all mistress achievements possible in one playthrough.

Expect around 15-25 hours this playthough, depending on how you play. (i.e. fully exploring every area, destroying all objects or just running through) though it's possible to be quicker and (naturally) slower.

Tyranny Playthrough

With all the other achievements out of the way, as well as knowing what is in front of you, you should be able to fly through the game now just focusing on the other 100% tyranny achievement and the related town domination/destruction quests. If doing these alone you should take no more than 5-10 hours to finish up the last of the offline achievements.

Online Achievements

Finally you should be able to wrap these up with a partner in, at most, a few hours as you can just get a little score and quit out to finish them quickly. If playing legitimately this is going to take much longer as the matches are quite lengthy and, as with the first game, the online mode isn't very active.

Gameplay

A note on the save game system, the game will use your most recent save as the autosave slot. Thus if you save your game thinking you can head down to the forge, buy some items for achievements, and then reload it will continue on you’ll find your last save overwritten. To get around this make sure you save twice. The second save with be overwritten by the autosave, but you can just reload the one before.

An issue quite a few have is becoming 'stuck' in one area after returning from a save/Netherword Tower and finding they are out of position or unable to continue beyond a blockage. This is usually because they've ported to the wrong gate in the area and don't know how to get to the other. Simply bring up the main area on your Gate screen (ie select "Everlight Town") and use the http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/ls.png to cycle between the various gates in that location. This is also useful when picking a specific gate if, for example, porting to one that has gold treasure chests beside it.

Tyrant of Nordberg 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Complete full Tyranny over Nordberg through either Domination or Destruction

Contrary to the description you don’t need to dominate or kill 100% of the population, you’ll get this simply by conquering the town whatever method you choose. After you've dealt with Borius one way or the other (attacking with with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png to kill him Dominate by selecting him with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png then http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png and releasing before he dies) head to the town hall just behind him and Hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png to take over.

Through Domination or Destruction you are now the Tyrant of Everlight

Story related, can’t be missed. Again you don’t have to kill enslave 100% of the population, just complete the story mission. After you've dealt with the Governess one way or the other (attacking with with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png to kill her, Dominate by selecting him with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png then http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png and releasing before she dies) head to the town hall just behind him and Hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png to take over.

Dark Emperor 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You have killed Solarius

Story related, can’t be missed. Beating the final boss of the game can be a tricky fight if you don’t know what you’e doing. I’d recommend a horde of 20 browns, 10 reds, 10 greens and 5 blues (10 if using the +5 horde size helm). Put them on a guard marker and simply run around the Devourer at during the first part of the right, your reds and greens will hit the pustules while your browns will take care of any zombies than come at you, the blues keeping your minions standing though you shouldn't have too many die on you. You'll also need to sweep the blues around every so often if too much blue goop starts littering the area.

In the second section you have to use the raised platforms to hit the higher pustules, send your 10 reds up there on a guard marker and use the rest of the horde to defend against the zombies. The final section of the fight is the same as the first, except when you destroy the 2/3 pustules that regenerate each turn your then need to destroy the one on the Devourer’s head to make Solarius appear, you can then drain him while again your minions take care of any enemies that appear, these will generally be stronger that the first section with Unicorns and mutated minions attacking, you may want to get your overlord stuck in (especially on the Unicorns). Simply rinse and repeat.

The key to this fight is your control of minions on the marker. It’s just like sweeping them, use http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png to select the marker and http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rs.png to move them (you can move the Overlord as well with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/ls.png at the same time) only you have more control and when in formation they defend much better. Easy enough to finish the fight with your full 45/50 minions if careful.

Mount Master 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You have discovered and used all Minion Mounts in the game

At various stages throughout the game you’ll be required to use the mounts to solve puzzles, can’t be missed. It will unlock after you defeat the Salamander King in the Wasteland Sanctuary Depths and are required to use the Salamander mounts for your red minions.

Rescuer of Kelda 15http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Rescue Kelda from Nordberg

Story related, can’t be missed. Kelda becomes your mistress after you take control of Nordberg.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/854/s1.jpg

Juno’s Champion15http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Juno has become your Mistress

Story related, can’t be missed. June Becomes your Mistress after you take control of Everlight. This Final fight before this can be tricky though:

This Battle sees you up against two Empire formations with archers backing them up on the left and right and supply tents behind pumping out more troops. It’s almost impossible to break through these with sheer brute force, certainly on the left, though you can manage it on the right with a bit of determination. However as always knowing what to do makes things much easier so instead you’re going to be sneaky. The minion portals right beside you as you enter the area should also make things easier should you run into trouble.

Soldiers will constantly attack you, as well the archers, so time is of the essence. First place all your minions on a guard marker (Hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png) at the gate to deal with the troops that attack. With all command upgrades at this point you should have 35 available, take 15 browns, 10 greens and 10 reds. Next select the guard Marker with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and withdraw one red minion (reds are best for the next part, hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rb.png and hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png to select them). Straight ahead is a small pathway only minions can access, that leads to some exploding barrels located behind the Empire troops on the right hand side. Hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png to select these (you can either try to position yourself and tap http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png until you select a barrel or hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and use http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rs.png to move through the options until you select one). With the barrel highlighted keep holding http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png to send a red minion to the barrel, he’ll pick it up and you can use http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rs.png to move him, destroy the tent first to stop the reinforcements.

At this point you can either attack the right hand formation now that it won’t be reinforced, (If you still have greens on spiders this is the best option) or use the reds and a few more barrels to first take out the Archers then the formation. In either case get over to the right hand side as soon as you can to prevent the Archers on the left hitting you.

When you have cleared the right hand side once more place your minions on a guard marker, this time at the spot where the Empire formation was. These minions will deal with the spawns from the left hand side that will still be attacking you. Next once more elect and exploding barrel with a red minion and send it straight across the other walkway (this one is to the right of the one you sent the other red minion across) to take first the Archers on the left hand side, and then the reinforcement tent. For the tent make sure your overlord is as close to the walkway as possible otherwise your minion with the barrel will be out of range before he makes it to the tent.

With the Tent down it’s onto the final portion of the battle, you can either attack the formation directly, or use the first walkway to take them out with barrels. The second walkway leaves too much distance to cover for your minion to reach behind them with a barrel so don’t try it. After all the Empire soldiers are dead head on up the steps behind where the Left hand formation was to trigger the cutscene.

Ghost Bringer 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Ghost Fay has become your Mistress

As you progress through the story, eventually you’ll be at a part where you need to drain queen Fay to power up the Tower Heart. You can only have one of Ghost or Dark Fay each playthrough, depending on whether or not you kill her before she returns to the Netherworld Gate after you have fully drained her. Continue draining to kill her for Ghost Fay, or leave her be for Dark Fay. Before you start this you can head back to the tower through the Netherword Gate, which is close at hand. Simply make two saves and use one for Dark Fay, the other for Ghost Fay. This effects your Domination and Destruction %, make sure you take the correct decision for your main on your main save.

Red Rescuer 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Find the Red Minions

Story related, can’t be missed.

The Reds are found in the Nordberg Sanctuary. After returning to your Netherworld Tower for the first time and getting the quest to conquer Nordberg you’ll have to head in. When inside just on yet left is a Netherworld shard, select it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and send your minions to it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png then hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png to gain control of a minion. Lead them over the bridge with the Dryad and take the path to the right to get around to kill her. Afterward hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png to return to your Overlord and get across the, now clear, bridge.

Follow the path down and you’ll come to a Netherworld gate and another Dryad, you can’t pass here yet so head right and slide down a dirt ramp. You’ll cross some water and have to leave your minions behind, after this there’s a Dark Crystal [6] on your left. Continue on the path until you find some red minions who’ll join you after a cutscene. Send them to destroy the barrier with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png and follow the path once more.

To your right is a room with treasure and two carnivorous plants, stock up if you want then destroy the other barrier to continue on. You’ll come to a lift, which will activate when you step on it with to more plants just as you step off. Slide down the dirt ramp to find the Dryad once more, take 10 browns out from the nearby minion portal and kill her then place your reds on a guard marker with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png on the nearby ledge to kill the second dryad below allowing your to advance.

Follow the path around, fighting some elves on the way, to reach another lift. Follow the next path around through a series of balconies until you come to another lift that heads down with elves on board. Continue on past the Harp (Grab it as a Netherworld gate is just around the corner) to find another Netherworld Shard allowing you to take control of a minion. The path to take is just opposite the shard room slowing you to raise the lift for the Overlord.

Head down to lift and around to the statue with three dryads and some long grass in front of it. Only use your reds here as the grass will burn killing your browns and injuring you. Destroy the Statues and the Crystal that drops for a Mana upgrade. Grab it and head over the fallen statue to find the Red Minion Hive, there is a Netherworld gate just behind a barrier in the same room to carry it into.

Green Grabber 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Find the Green Minions

Story related, can’t be missed.

The Green minion Hive is found in the Everlight facility, you have to take possession of green minions. 13 spawn beside the possession stone and you can replenish them here should you ever run low when inside, also if “you” die you’ll regain control of the overlord back at the stone. The vast majority of this quest is completed just with the minions. Upon entry to the Facility you’ll soon come across the Hive and be told you need to open gates to get it out. There is a dark crystal just behind it if you push the 5-minion switch. Head down the broken grating just beside the hive and cross over the wooden beam. On your left will be a room with some treasure chests, loot these and move on down the stairs, you’ll enter the area you saw below when on the beam.

Your greens are invisible when they stop moving, so you’re safe when in the tall grass, if the Exterminator sees you run as he can wipe out your minions in short order however if you place your greens on a guard marker and get behind them they’ll usually kill it for no loss. Directly opposite where you entered this area is another grating, the area behind which has yet more chests. Move up the stairs to the left of where you entered. Use the 5-minion switch to release gnomes to distract the enemy and wait until you can get behind it to sneak attack it to death.

Turn the switch, head to the next area and take out the Exterminator with his back to you. Turn the switch allowing you to move the hive along. You’ll come to another blocked gate so as before enter the broken grating and follow the route around for a cutscene, after this you’ll once more be faced with an enemy whose back is turned to you, kill it and turn the wheel to advance the hive again, you’ll be told that the sentinels need to be taken out. Stop move the hive as otherwise it’ll run into them, follow the path around and move in through the gratings to avoid their red search lights. Head up the stairs when you enter the second grating to take a sentinel out, then down the stairs to find the minion wheel that opens the gate, allowing the hive through. Continue on until a gate again blocks it.

Once more enter the nearby grate and head right for some chests, then return and take the left hand path, you’ll find some pots with more greens in them if you’re short. Get behind the Exterminator and kill him, using the grates on the left or the 5-minion gnome switch to attract up the second and kill him. There are also some gold crates on the upper level. Head to the lower level, open the gate, and head through. Following this path around you’ll find the switch to open the final gate blocked the hive allowing you to put it on the lift, the game will autosave.

Head over the wooden beam beside the lift and you’ll come to a 5-minion switch and a gate, the gate opens up the way to where you started so activate it them head down to the area opened by the minion switch. The stairs down, on the right hand side of the large open area, can be hard to see here. In the next area wait for the Exterminator to turn his back then kill him. Kill the soldiers and the second Exterminator in this area, if you can sneak around to the 5-minion Switch the Panda will take care of this for you, the grate in the back of the panda cage leads to another Dark Crystal.

Open the gate and head to the next area, directly right of you is a 5-minion switch that leads to another Sentinel for you to kill. This part has several Exterminators, head left through the vegetation to get behind one and release the Gnomes, alternatively lure them back one by one to the panda if you have the patience. Head through the grate beside the Gnome switch to find another 5-minion switch, open the gate and head up to the left to find another Sentinel. Head back down and up the steps into another circular Garden area with two Sentinels and an Exterminator. Make a U turn from where you entered and you’ll see a grate/path (if you entered via the main stairway this will be on your left). Time your run to avoid anything nasty and head on down. Open the gate if you want, this sends you to the area with the earlier Juno Cutscene and holds nothing of interest. Heading up the stairs though you’ll find a 5-minion switch to release two Pandas, with a Dark crystal in one of their pens, both remaining sentinels are on this level also so take them out and turn the wheel the lowers the Green minion hive.

Return to the lower level and kill the last remaining Exterminators then grab the Hive and walk out the front gate with it (the gate will open automatically) At this point you can return to your overlord if you wish, though all the minions will also return so you’ll need to go pick up the Hive again.

Blue Bringer 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Find the Blue Minions

Story related, can't be missed.

You retrieve the Blue minions from the Empire Sewer area, the first section of this area is relatively straightforward, destroy the houses in your way along the path turning Minion wheels where needs be. You’ll come to a river with a 1-minion switch, a raft floating around and two of the large frogs coming out of a grating. Set your minions in a guard marker (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png) at the raft and wait for it to come around, it’ll crash into the blockage the switch created allowing you to cross to the netherworld gate. Replenish your minions and enter the Arena underworks.

Some Imperial Guard will attack you so take them out and advance for a cutscene showing the Hive. Kill any remaining enemies and smash the barrels on the ramp for some blue lifeforce, backtrack out the way you came and a previously blocked grating will fall allowing more Imperial guard to attack you, kill them and head into where they came from to find a 4-minion wheel which will unlock the grating below. Return your minions to their burrows as they cannot pass through the water and head in yourself.

Follow the path around and kill the two groups of two Imperial Guardsmen (A destruction overlord will have an easier time with this, however making use of your target spell to avoid fighting two at once in melee is advisable for both paths). You’ll come to a 1-minion switch on the left, stand on it yourself to drop the pots held above and release your first blue minion. Return the way you came and you’ll find you can now access (through an open grate near where the first two Imperial Guard were) the area the rest of the pots fell into, bash them open to release 3 more blues and some magical creatures if you feel like killing them. To reach the next area send you broken blues through the grate (one of the blue pots was behind this) and off to the right (opposite direction from the pot) to activate a 4-minion wheel.

In the next area turn right and up the stairs to find another 1-minion switch. Opposite this pots are moving right to leave overhead above two Executioners. Stepping into the switch will drop and pot, time this so that the blue pots drop between the enemies and release and minion to join you. There is a slight delay between standing on the switch and a pot dropping. Don’t worry if you lose a minion as they will keep coming until you have 8, when you do head off to the right to find an 8-minion switch, activate it and return to the upper path to continue on.

The next puzzle has a 1-minion switch and a 6-minion wheel. The switch controls the above claw’s grabbing action whereas the wheel determines the direction and speed it moves in (more minions, more speed to the right, less and it moves to the left). Send six minions down to it (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png to select the switch and http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png to send them) and stand on the switch to grab one of the two blues on the left, get off the switch to drop him in the middle. The minion will die so send one of the two remaining blues with you down to revive him with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png. When the claw is on the right hand side use the switch again to grab one, but this time press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png to retrieve two of the minions on the switch (leaving 4) and the claw will move left. Again step off the switch to drop a minion and revive him, repeat this for all four minions (and the pots if you want some lifeforce). Aagain don’t worry if a minion somehow dies as they will respawn until you have 12. Notice there is a 20-minion switch in the corner, this leads to a Dark Crystal [21] but you will have to return for it later. Return back to the path and head right (you’ll receive a cut scene about the “blink” ability of blues leaving them invisible when sweeping.

Activate the 12-minion switch to unlock and area that respawns blues, break open the pots to bring your number to 15. Exit the room and head down left to the next 1-minion switch but activating it does nothing for you, instead sweep your minions through the water, past the Imperial Guards using the ‘blink’ ability and over to the 8-minion switch beside them. Remember to sweep your minions back or they will be visible again and the enemies will attack them. Head over to the now opened area and either sweep the blues past the Imperial Guard and then run past yourself (they’ll ignore you), or kill them. You have unlimited Blues from the nearby spawning area but it will take a long time to kill the guard with them and trying yourself is risky against five.

In any case in the next area fighting is out of the question, use your blues to sweep down and activate both 8-minion switches. One will release a horde of magic creatures on the Empire troops, the other will open the grate. With the soldiers distracted head into the next area. Four Imperial Guard will block your way but, with your help, your blues should be able to handle them in groups of two. Hit the 8-minion switch to allow you to return to other areas but after that return to back the way you came in, there was a 12-minion switch back there which you now have enough minions to press which allows you access to the raft. Select it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and sweep your blues onto it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png then step on and hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png to activate it. Hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png to love forward and http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png to move back. Follow the hive, at one point an Imperial Gaurdsman will hit a switch to block your way, use http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png to dock, kill him and hit the switch to continue on into the Imperial palace, there’s only one path so continue on, looting the chests as you go, for a cutscene.

In the next area free your blue minions and then Enter the Arena for an epic battle, after which you receive your Blue Hive. To deal with the fight see the Boss/Enemy FAQs here: <click for link> <click for link>

Industrious Magic 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Achieve 50 kills by overcharging your Evil Presence Spell

Target and enemy using http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and Hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png until they are dead. This is easiest on your destruction playthrough as you can kill the townspeople this way with Netherworld gates close at hand to recharge your mana. (Just make sure not to dominate one by mistake). Alternatively it can be done on any enemy on a domination playthrough. Another option on Domination is to make a second save game, kill 50 townspeople, and then just reload you original save.

Big Chopper 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Achieve 50 melee kills

Not too hard this one. A lot of the time, especially against Empire formations, you’ll want to get your overlord stuck in. Just keep at it and the achievement will unlock fairly quickly, should come naturally as you play.

Seal Slayer 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You have killed 100 baby seals

Easiest on your domination playthrough as there is a pen in the Northern part of Nordberg where these seals constantly respawn if you have enslaved enough of population (they must be enslaved to work the area for you). Simply leave your minions on a guard marker and you’ll have it in no time. Alternatively you can return to the earlier areas and hunt them down.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/854/s14.jpg

Gnome Grinder 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You've killed 1000 gnomes

See “Minion Lover” for a method to complete both achievements as well as for gathering a lot of gems.

Alternatively when you get all the tower heart pieces and you need to charge the heart in the wasteland Sanctuary, after the first charge it falls into a gnome village, use 5 blues to grab it which will reveal a Gnome hole underneath, out of which exploding gnomes will emerge. As soon as they start popping out, drop the heart and run for the water! The gnomes will continue to come out and die in the water, and give you a kill. You can also set a guard marker (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png) right on top of the hole and your minions should take care of the gnomes, bring 5 or so back with you and use them to gather the lifeforce and gems that drop. Eventually the Gnomes will stop dropping items but they will infinitely spawn until you push the mother goddess statue over the hole. Be sure you are finished as after this you cannot remove the statue and no more will spawn.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/854/s15.jpg

Rock On 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You've killed 15 or more enemies with a single Catapult boulder

You can get this easily enough in the first part of the game when you are still a child. Landing a rock in the middle of one of the formations should kill almost all of them. You’ll have plenty of chances to get this throughout the game though as there are several catapult scenes. A good tip for finding your range is to listen for the “clicks” as you wind up the catapult, count them and adjust accordingly based on where the rock lands.

Collectable/Upgrade Achievements

Before looking at these achievements a note about “gem harvesting”. Many of the forge items will require large amounts of gems, a rare treasure dropped by all magical creatures, you will gather a lot of these through the “Minion lover” achievement, which also unlock the “Gnome grinder” achievement. Also, on the first section when draining queen Fay, a constant stream of elves will attack you. Set your horde on a guard marker and let them come (make sure to have at least 5 Blues). You should kill them for no loss and have a regular supply of gems to collect.

Scrooge 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Collect 50,000 gold

You must possess the 50,000 at one time, so as you play through the game be thrifty with your upgrades. Best done at the end of the game when you have most areas unlocked. If you're a domination Overlord Nordberg Gate 2 has a lot of Chests right beside the gate and does Everlight Town Gate 1, simply cycle between both of these until the chests become smaller. (they can only be collected so many times before this happens and the number of them depends on the population of each town). The next fastest method is to gate to Everlight Temple, there is a switch up the stairs to the left of the gate as you exit that unlocks a secret area, there are also 5 chests close to the walls on the way up to that room. Each run should net you about 1000-1400 gold.

First you must set the required mistress as your “first mistress”. To do this head to your bedchambers and down the long thin corridor to the left, this room will contain your mistresses and you can select which you want to be your first mistress by walking up to them and pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png. Next head over to the tower upgrade station (also in your chambers) and buy every item there, which only takes 3100 gold.

See “Ghost Bringer” to find out how to have both Dark and Ghost Fay available in a single playthrough.

Ladies' Man 40http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You and your Mistresses have found a way to get along splendidly

This is easy enough, simply make sure you have the overlord banner and purchase 2 of the other options for each mistress, one in each area (ie one in the bedchamber, one in the Throne room). To get the options to purchase items for each mistress you have to change who is your “first mistress”. To do this take the long thin corridor on the left of your bedchambers to a room where all three mistresses are, then press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png in front of which you want to be your first mistress. The place to change your tower decoration is also in the bedchamber.

Items in the Bedchamber: Bed, Curtains, Candles

Items in the main Chamber: Throne, Statues, Alcoves

Forge three weapons

To forge anything you first have to find the Red Minion hive, there are three forge stones that unlock progressively better equipment. (See “Treasure Hunter for their location) As you’re not going to be using all three weapons it’s best to save before forging these and only keep the one you’ll be using.

With the Nordberg forge Stone you’ll have four weapons available to you, the three cheapest will require 125 Brown minions, 6250 Gold and 15 Gems, or alternatively, 25 browns, 50 reds, 4250 Gold and 25 gems.

Blue Steel Look 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Forged the Elemental helmet and armor

This requires that you forge the Elemental armour and “Evil Eye” helmet. You’ll need both the Nordberg Forge stone and the Green minion hive. In total you’ll need 50 Brown, red and Green minions, 11500 gold, 45 gems and 1 dark crystal. It’s advisable to get the Evil Eye helmet as soon as you are able as this doubles the lifeforce obtained making the gathering achievements much easier.

Kitted Out 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Forge the Infernal helmet and armor

You’ll need all three forge stones for these, you get them so late in the game that I wouldn’t bother until you have the 50,000 gold achievement, as well as "minion Lover" (for the gems) as they aren’t required to finish the game and cost a great deal. Again just save before buying them to unlock the achievement and reload. You will need the infernal helmet (as well as all command upgrades) for the perfect horde achievement. In total you’ll need 175 Browns, 100 reds, 100 greens, 75 Blues, 16,000 gold, 90 gems and 5 dark crystals.

Minion Lover 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Gather 5000 Lifeforce orbs

First make sure you have the “Evil Eye” Helmet as this doubles all lifeforce gained. Next head to the Everlight Facility and draw as many brown minions as you can as well as 5 blues (the blues aren’t required, but make gathering the lifeforce easier) and enter through the main gate, on your left is a 5 Minion switch. Activating this will release a constant supply of Gnomes.

Split the group of Browns into 15, 10 and 15. (if you have a full Horde size, if not scale down accordingly) Put the 15 on the right and left just above the stairs and blocking off the two "escape" routes either side and the 10 in the middle, all on guard markers (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png) and use the 5 blues to gather the lifeforce (invisible when sweeping). Hardly any gnomes get through (if too many get by they stop coming and you must then kill the escapees in the square just behind you). If you put the minions too close to the entrance/exit of the Gnome cage then a lot of lifeforce get's trapped inside, hence the placement just past the stairs.

This will get you the minion Lover and Gnome Grinder achievements, as well as many gems for forging.

Best done after you have the “scrooge” achievement, however upgrading your browns a few levels/all minions to level 2 doesn’t cost too much and helps during the game.

You've collected 100% of all Dark Crystals

There are 30 Dark Crystals scattered throughout the game. Note: this is not enough to forge every item and upgrade all minions, take this into account if going for those achievements, however you should have enough to unlock all the achievements if being careful with what you buy, even if not using multiple saves.

Maps and images of the locations can be found here: <Click for Link>

Netherword Tower (5)

These should all be easy enough to find and are all in plain sight:

  • [1] The main chamber, on the platform around the edge of the chamber
  • [2] In your bedchambers, right at the back of the chamber.
  • [3] In the forge near the bellows (on the left past your armoury, where you upgrade your minions)
  • [4] In the Minion burrows chamber, there is one at the end of a dead end bridge past the red minion hive/area and
  • [5] another on a path just around from the blue minions.

Nordberg Sanctuary (1)

  • [6] Just after you slide down a hill and have to leave your brown minions behind, this crystal is in among the roots to the left beside the Gnome Burrows.

Nordberg (2)

  • [7] After you use the mine cart to destroy the gate and clear the Empire soldiers with the ballista, this Crystal is just inside the gate to your left behind some rocks, get another mine cart and send it into the town as you did with the gate then destroy it to gain access.
  • [8] After you have dealt with Barius and conquered Nordberg, return via Netherworld Gate 2. Head left past the Mayor House and the Balista and left again to head out the northern gate, follow the winding round around to the left (it goes around the back of the Mayor's house) and this Crystal will be at the end.

Everlight Reef (2)

  • [9] Just after you pick up the first red stone this Crystal is in the water to your right as you move along the path, just after destroying a hut blocking the road. You'll have to return here with Blue minions to pick this up later in the game.
  • [10] After placing the yellow stone you'll come to a sandy area filled with mermaids, to get there you have to head down two flights of stairs, after the first set of stairs turn right and the Crystal is on a ledge/verge only your minions can reach.

Everlight Jungle (1)

  • [11] After defeating the two fat elves in the Northern Area of the map (the part you needed the green minions to enter) head through the newly opened passageway and take the first right. The crystal is in this section in one of the rocky alcoves.

Everlight Facility (3)

  • [12]After you possess the Green minions and enter the facility you will soon come across the Green Minion Hive, just beside it is a 5 minion switch, sweep them over it to open up a small area filled with crates, a couple of treasure chests and the Crystal.
  • [13]This is one of the most easily missed. Far over in the north eastern part of the map (best gotten when you release the first Panda using the 5 minion switch during the quest to retrieve the green minion hive) this crystal is found by entering a grate hidden in shadow at the back of the panda cage, then after destroying the pots in the next area long thin beam. Only accessible when you have possessed minions.
  • [14] At the Northern part of the Map, in one of the pens that you release the two Pandas from, again best done during the Green Minion Hive Quest.

Everlight Temple Outskirts (1)

  • [15]You'll see this crystal high on a ledge just as you exit the area's Netherworld Gate however you cannot reach it until you have the spider mounts for your greens. You'll return here with them after defeating the spider boss, indeed you need spider mounts to open the main gate to the next area by pushing minion switches on the walls only they can reach, so remember to pick it up then.

Everlight Temple (1)

  • [16] After defeating the Spider boss and ascending the lift using your greens take the first set of stairs to your right, just before you reach the Netherworld gate to reach a 1-minion switch, Activate it to open a secret area. Head up the stairs to the left of the gate then turn right, picking up a mana upgrade on your way if you haven't already, to enter the room with gold chests and this crystal.

Everlight Town (1)

  • [17] You need the Blue minions for this crystal, so return only when you have them. From Netherworld Gate 1 (The one in the area that had the Boss fight and contains the Governess and Treasure Chests) head out and take the left hand path, this will bring you to the Beech. Keep left and cross the water to the the island, this will hold a spell catalyst if you haven't already picked it up. There is a minion accessible area on the southern part of the Island with this Dark Crystal, hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png to send your minions down the path to retrieve it for you.

Empire Harbour (1)

  • [18] After disguising your minions to enter the fort with the catapult, turn directly left, this Stone is in the corner however, unlike almost every other, it does not shine through the waterjug it's inside. One of the easier ones to miss if you don't destroy every breakable in each area.

Empire Heartlands (1)

  • [19] In this area you will have to possess a minion and destroy various Sentinel towers, one one point you'll be faced with two towers too high to reach and a Gargantuan prowling around. Use the Gargantuan's charge to fell the sentinels then kill it (attack when it's stunned from a Charge) and it will drop a Dark Crystal. This is another easily missed as it's possible to just avoid the Gargantuan after he destroys the towers.

Empire Sewers (2)

  • [20] Under the grating beside the raft you used to reach the Netherworld gate, just your blues (Select the raft with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and send them to it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png) and use them to activate the raft (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png) and to another dock (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png) and return to the, now accessible, grating. Send in your blues to retrieve the Crystal.
  • [21] After your fight in the Arena return with 20 minions (any will do) to the room with the 6-minion wheel. (It's the second puzzle room on the northern part of the map). Partially Hidden by boxes on the left hand size is a 20-minion switch. Activate it and follow the path, killing the Executioners in your way, to find the Dark Crystal.

Wasteland (5)

  • [22] You can get this Crystal as soon as the Wastelands become available. Take the path around from the Netherworld gate and as soon as you enter the main area head left hugging the wall. The crystal is in an alcove here, just above the Netherworld gate on the map.
  • [23] You'll need blue minions to advance this deep into the Wasteland, and for all other Crystals in this region. From the first netherworld gate follow the path and pass through the area blocked by two magic goop piles, you'll comp across a human survivor village with a few minion burrows. Activate the minion-wheel and continue on to the next village. Here the Crystal is hidden behind one of the houses on the upper level, destroy them to access it. This is in the north-eastern part of the Map.
  • [24] After the large rotating stone platform, and just past Netherworld Gate 2, is a Zombie village made of halfling holes. The final command upgrade is behind a breakable barrier which blocks the exit to the north side. Almost impossible to miss within the story progression. The Dark Crystal is underneath a tent right beside this.
  • [25] After taking with Queen Fay and Florian you will gain access to a large lake filled with the magic blue goop. This Crystal is in the northernmost part of it in a thin ring near some green poison jets.
  • [26] At the end of the wastelands region you will have to escape from a horde of Empire soldiers along a set path. After a section where you are under fire from archers whilst running up various levels of a cliff this Crystal is in an alcove just before you come to a large slide taking you down to a level near where you met Fay and Florian earlier. It can be difficult to find and get the first time around due to the Archers attacking you, but you can return later if needs be.

Wasteland Sanctuary Depths (1)

  • [27] After defeating the Salamander King and Charging the Tower heart at all four Crystals this Dark Crystal will be right in your path on the way out just after you have to fight some empire soldiers in a large circular room (you earlier fell down here and had your first encounter with the Salamanders). Almost impossible to miss.

Wasteland Sanctuary Town (1) (Missable)

  • [28]When you return to the town after charging the Tower Heart it'll be under attack by the empire troops. Continue until you come to a section where you must push two mother Goddess statues forward to pass, head up the stairs here to a crossroads. Straight ahead is blocked and to the left is a Empire Centurion, take the right path up to a raised platform and destroy everything to get the Crystal. (it is in a barrel with no normal glow, easy to miss). Warning: You cannot return to the Wasteland Sanctuary Town Area later on, you must get this Crystal the one and only time you are here.

Empire Hills (1)

  • [29] You need Kelda as your first Mistress to have the wolf mounts available for this Crystal. After the second catapult battle (where you destroyed 3 siege towers) you'll come to an area with 6 bombers, use them to break the barriers and have your minions deal with them. This crystal is across the gap (where three of the bombers were) and requires wolves to jump across and collect.

Empire City (1)

  • [30] Just before you enter the Emperor's Palace (after destroying the last shrine with the zombies/townspeople around) take the stairs to the left of the door into the palace. This Crystal is in an unmarked jar on the ledge at the top.

Treasure Hunter 50http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

You've obtained all the Tower Objects in the game

You must find all 3 spell stones, 3 Forge Stones, 6 minion command upgrades, 5 Mana upgrades, 5 Health Upgrades, 9 spell catalysts and one Harp. You can see your Mana/Heath upgrades by your throne, the command upgrades in the minion burrows and your spell catalysts at the spell upgrade station in your bedchambers. Most of these are pretty hard to miss as they are generally in plain view, a few are off the beaten path though and require you to backtrack with new minions.

Maps and images of the locations can be found here: <Click for Link>

Harp

Unique item found on Nordberg Sanctuary, fairly near the end just before you reach the second Netherworld gate and have to use the second minion control stone to raise the lift. Hard to miss.

Health upgrades (5)

  • Nordberg – Just before you go into the first Netherword Gate, behind a wooden blockade where you kill/dominate your first townspeople.
  • Everlight Reef - On the northernmost small island, carry the item to your ship and transport it to a Netherworld Gate.
  • Nordberg - After you get the blue minions return to Nordberg Gate 2 and grab 15 or so, then out the northern gate of the town. Turn right and walk down to the water, past the seal spawning area. Select the Raft with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and send the Blues with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png, press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png to activate it and http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png/http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png to move forward and back, dock at the port to the left (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/b.png) and retrieve the upgrade. You'll then need to sail it back to the shore and carry it to a netherworld gate.
  • Wasteland - You'll need blue minions to advance this deep into the wasteland. From the first netherworld gate follow the path and pass through the area blocked by two magic goop piles, you'll comp across a human survivor village with a few minion burrows. Activate the minion-wheel and continue on to the next village. Here the Heath object is to the south through a goop pile with two ruined buildings leaning over it and constant slugs spawning. This is in the north-eastern part of the Map. Sweep your blues through the goop using http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png to clear a path and grab the object.
  • Empire Hills - After the second catapult battle you'll come across an area with 6 bombers. The Health upgrade is in the open just behind them, very hard to miss.

Mana Upgrades (5)

  • Nordberg Sanctuary - After you destroy the huge statue of Queen Fay a large blue crystal will drop. Destroy this and inside is your first Mana upgrade. Almost impossible to miss.
  • Everlight Temple - After beating the Spider Boss and ascending the lifting using your spider minions this upgrade is directly ahead above the Netherword Gate. Head up the stairs to the left of the gate and then go right to pick it up.
  • Nordberg - Return to Nordberg when you have the greens. Head to the middle of the town, over on the western side is a poisoned barrier, send the greens to attack it with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png and continue on. The Mana upgrade is on your left as you follow the path around, close to a gate you can open using the nearby minion wheel.
  • Wasteland - You only need your Red Minions for this one. From the Netherworld Gate head down the path to the first open area and take a left (heading west) there is a path down to an area with jets of flame and the Upgrade. Sweep your reds through the path to collect it.
  • Wasteland Sanctuary - During the Salamander King fight you'll come to a point where you must activate three bridges using 1-minion switches. This Upgrade is down a path near the third switch (the one that activates the bridge over the water) This is just north of Netherworld Gate 2 in the region. You'll need your blues to get it out of the water.

Spell catalysts (9)

  • Nordberg Commune - After you use the wolves to enter the commune the catalyst is behind a barrier to the north which requires reds to break down.
  • Everlight Temple Outskirts - You'll come to this map after the Everlight Facility. Continue on and, after the fight with the empire soldiers being attacked by spiders beside a large blocked gate, turn left. You'll fight a couple of Exterminators and the catalyst is hard to miss in the large open area they are found in.
  • Everlight Town - You need the Blue minions for this crystal, so return only when you have them. From Netherworld Gate 1 (The one with the Treasure Chests) head out and take the left hand path, this will bring you to the Beech. Cross the water to an island, the catalyst is in plain view in the center of it. There is also a Dark crystal [17] along a minion path to the south of the island if you have yet to pick it up.
  • Empire Heartlands - After defeating the Gargantuan and clearing the roads of Sentinels you must enter the Villa to find the sedan chair. This catalysts is to the left as you enter the villa, hard to miss.
  • Empire Sewers - In the water behind the Region's Netherworld Gate, return here when you have the blues to pick it up.
  • Wastelands - You need the Green minions for this one. From the Netherworld gate head down the path until you come to the first large open area, head right (east) and you'll come across a ruined halfling village with some jets of poison gas guarding the catalyst. Send your Greens in with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rs.png to collect it.
  • Wastelands - Deep in the Wasteland (you'll need blues). Following Florian to the Tower Heart Shards should bring you to this one, hard to miss. It's in the southern Area of the magic blue goop lake, up a set of stairs in an area with a ruined building.
  • Wasteland Sanctuary - After you charge the Tower Heart at the first crystal and fall through the floor take the right hand fork in the path and this catalyst will be right in front of you, hard to miss. It's south of the first Netherworld gate (the left hand fork takes you to this)
  • Empire Hills - Just after the first catapult battle this catalyst is down on the right, just past the bridge, in the area the Empire Formations were. It's guarded by a Gargantuan and Empire reserve tent.

Command upgrades (6)

  • Nordberg – Just after you get the first spell, can’t miss it. Make sure you don't take this into the Netherworld gate until after the cutscene or it will glitch leaving you with no object and no command upgrade making a few achievements impossible.
  • Nordberg - After you clear the digsite and unlock the mining cart to destroy the Nordberg gates you will run into some archers on a hill, just below that are some rocks hiding this upgrade. Kill the archers and stop the cart beside the rocks, put your reds on a guard marker next to it (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png ) and they will automatically target the cart, destroying the blockage.
  • Everlight Reef - First you'll need to obtain the elven ship with the ram on the front (this happens through story progression). Next sail to the rock blockage which is just south of the northernmost gate on the center island. Take a run up and tap http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/a.png for ramming speed to break through. Dock the ship at the port and carry the item on board with your minions, you'll now need to sail to a Netherworld gate with it.
  • Everlight Town - When you first enter Everlight town to clear out the Empire this upgrade is almost directly on the path you must take through the various locked gates, just after destroying the two empire tents and where Gnarl comments about being where the elves live. It's in front of a locked gate (which later allows you into the Elf rebellion sidequest area) in the Northernmost part of the town close to Netherworld gate 3. Very hard to miss.
  • Empire Harbour - Straight ahead and slightly to the left from the only Netherowlrd Gate in the region. Again, very hard to miss.
  • Wasteland - After the large rotating stone platform, and just past netherworld gate 2, is a Zombie village made of halfling holes. The final command upgrade is behind a breakable barrier which blocks the exit to the north side. Almost impossible to miss within the story progression. Dark Crystal [24] is underneath a tent right beside this, be sure to pick it up at the same time.

Spell stones (3)

  • Target (Nordberg) – This is the first you get, the game walks you through it early on in Nordberg and it’s unmissable.
  • Halo (Everlight Jungle) - After you get your green minions return to the nethorworld gate, there are two green poison barrier blocking your way that you can now get through. One leads to the next area, the other to this spell stone.
  • Minion (Wasteland) - You can get this spell stone as soon as the Wasteland becomes available, no special minions required. Simply follow the path around from the Netherworld gate and it's directly ahead in the first large open area. Almost impossible to miss.

Forge Stones (3)

  • Nordberg - After you get the red minions and return to conquer the town this is behind the first fire barrier you come to, just after your first fight with a Centurion and an Empire formation. Very close to where you got the first health upgrade.
  • Everlight Jungle - Just after you find the Netherworld gate, this stone is down around the corner from the two green poison barriers sitting in front of the mother godess statue. Almost impossible to miss.
  • Empire Harbour - After disguising your minions and entering the fort with the catapult this stone is up the stairs right beside the catapult, almost impossible to miss. Dark crystal[18] is also in this area on the ground floor.

Walking Apocalypse 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Destroy both Nordberg and Everlight

Simply kill everyone in the towns, this is harder than it sounds. First you must break down the doors or destroy every breakable building, often townspeople can get stuck inside if you just break the door down so destroy the building. However in each area there are also gates that connot be passed until certain parts of the game.

In Nordberg there is an area which can only be accessed when you have green minions to destroy a barrier and another that requires blue minions to move a raft. In Everlight an audience later in the game will give you a sidequest to open the final area there which contains the last 20 townspeople.

If you cannot find a villager try gating out of the map and then back to it, this will spawn all townspeople again and replace the doors on houses that still contain any.

New World Order 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Enslave both Nordberg and Everlight

To enslave someone target them with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/lt.png and then hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/x.png, release it before they are dead. I would recommend not upgrading your target spell more than once, perhaps twice, as it’s easy to kill them by mistake. As with “Walking Apocalypse” some areas are only accessible later in the game. Breaking down doors to release townspeople has no effect on your domination % and needs to be done to dominate all 100 villagers.

In Nordberg there is an area which can only be accessed when you have green minions to destroy a barrier and another that requires blue minions to move a raft. In Everlight an audience later in the game will give you a sidequest to open the final area there which contains the last 20 townspeople. You have to be very careful here not to kill any villagers as they appear red and your minions will attack them, keep most of your horde well back. Two villagers appear after you destroy the second group of stilted huts. (the first chuck poison bombs, the second ground has one poison bomb and one exploding bomb, the two appear after you destroy the exploding bomb hut) these two will run towards your minions so make sure to keep most of your horde well back and to enslave them quickly. For the next section take only the green spider riders and run them up the wall to dislocate the bombers, if you don’t do this they will likely kill some villagers. Once this is done the quest ends and the remaining townspeople return to being green. It’s best to save before this quest as it can take several attempts.

If you cannot find a villager try gating out of the map and then back to it, this will spawn all townspeople again and replace the doors on houses that still contain any.

The Dominator 40http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Achieve a 100% Domination Tyranny rating

You must always take the desired path, i.e. always taking the choice to dominate or destroy/kill. You also need to dominate/kill every inhabitant of Nordberg and Everlight. This should unlock just after your choice to kill Dark Fay or not, unless you have yet to completely dominate both towns.

These are the events that effect Domination/Destruction %.

  • Kill/Dominate Borius in Nordberg
  • Light the final tar pit in Norhaven/Dominate the population.
  • Destroy/Dominate the Elven Commune (sidequest)
  • Kill/Dominate the Governess of Everlight.
  • Kill/Dominate Senator Drearius and his wife in the Empire Heartlands.
  • Kill/Dominate the Yeti in the Arena
  • Kill/Dominate everyone in Nordberg/Everlight.
  • Kill Dark Queen Fay or let he live as your mistress.
  • Kill/Chase away the Elven rebellion. Make a save before you attempt this quest on either run as it's tricky to complete correctly and may take several attempts. It's the sticking point for many on a Destruction run. Use the green spider minions to chase away the elves on the final bombing platform for Domination (see "New world Order" for completing this quest without killing townspeople), but for Destruction use your reds to destroy it. You have to kill them while they are on the platform. The reds (put them on a guard marker nearby using http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png) will set of a chain reaction of bombs and you'll get a red destruction tick beside the quest rather than the plain gray one you get if using the spiders. You can't just kill them after chasing them down with the greens as this won't count for the quest.

Perfect Horde 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Your Minion Horde is fully upgraded

You need to finish the game first, or at least reach the final area and have a horde size of 50 (all command upgrades and the command helmet). The goal is to get them all to 400% which requires the late game golden equipment.

Take 50 browns (it's easier to see equipment on them) and, if you took the destruction path, head to Empire City and start busting open crates (there are loads around). If you went with Domination it's a little easier as Blacksmiths also make the weapons after you finish an area, you're looking for gold but they appear silver/crystal in Nordberg (due to the snow). Simply move from blacksmith to blacksmith sweeping your minions in with http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/rt.png.

As with the last game it's handy to take your minions out of the portal one by one until you see the % drop below 400, put that one back and then guard marker the others (hit http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png), thus all the minions you take out will be sub 400 and those already maxed out won't get in the way of them picking things up. It isn't an issue early on as most minions are picking things up, but (for example) when you only have 3 minions left to max out the other 47 can block them rather badly.

Minion Captain 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Rescue all the Minion crew from the spider webs

There are 10 minions to rescue in the sidequest, they are trapped inside cocoons which you can smack down and split open. Seven of them will come as you explore the first area, and the last three as you enter the northern area (you need the green minions to break down a poison barrier to reach this part of the map). See the Map section of the guide for their exact locations, just be sure not to leave the area until you have them all.

Win ten Dominate maps

The quickest to complete these is by boosting, as with the first game there are very few players online making finding a game rather difficult and the matches themselves are rather long even then. However, should you be able to find someone, they can be rather enjoyable. Have the person going for the win host a match, head to Xbox live -> Ranked Match -> Create Match and select your mode (there's only one map for each). Now have the boosting partner go to Ranked Match -> Custom to find the game. Should you get matched up against someone else just try again however this should be a rare enough occurrence with so few online. The host needs now to only get some score and when the other person quits a win is awarded. Repeat until finished.

Adversary 20http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.jpg

Kill an opposing Overlord 20 times in ranked versus matches

Must be done in a single match. See "The Big D" for how to match up with your partner. When in game have the person going for the achievement grab their minions and place them on a guard marker using http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/y.png at the Overlord spawn point. Walk across the map to the other spawn point and kill the opposing Overlord and stay there. He should now respawn beside either the minions each time. This way you should be able to get 20 kills before the time runs out.

Boss/Enemy FAQ

Empire Formations

A centurion nearby (the Fat, tough gold enemies, not to be confused with imperial Guard that appear later in the game who are gold and skinny) will greatly increase the efficiency of an Empire defensive formation, even making some of the larger Legionary (the enemies will the blue, rectangular, shield) all but impossible to break. make sure to take these guys down first if possible before attacking

When in formation the Legionaires are entirely impervious to fire (though the milita are not) and do not take damage individually, instead they must be broken as a group before you can kill them, this is why you sometimes see a single health circle, apparently empty, with the number of minions you have attacking. To break the formation it's usually best to wade in with Your overlord and get stuck in with all your minions, once it breaks down into individual units the fight will be much easier and when the unit breaks entirely it poses no threat whatsoever.

Sweeping your minions into a formation, especially when you have wolves, but other mounts work as do just plain browns, will often help break it up as well often flinging soliders into the air.

As a final note some formations are next to impossible to break through normal means and have, indeed, been designed to be that way. In theses cases there is invariably some other method than taking heavy losses be it a Catapult, Ballista, exploding barrel, way to reach the Centurion etc. If you're heaving big problems chances are you're missing one of these.

Dryads

Fire Seriously hurts Dryads, other than that simple attack with your minions and your Overlord if you feel like it. Once defeated they will form into a cocoon/bud to heal and you will have to destroy the flower that opens nearby to kill them for good. If there are multiple dryads (you'll face groups of one, two and four at the same time in the game) all must be regenerating before the flower will open allowing you to kill them all.

Unicorns

The Unicorn charge is deadly, it'll knock most your your minions down and kill a good few of them each time. Thankfully other than this they are largely ineffectual and don't have a huge amount of health. Keep your minions on a guard marker to avoid the charge as you'll have more control over them, try and lure the Unicorn into charging into a wall or obstacle. It'll now be stationary lay in with all you have, your overlord especially can deal out a lot of hurt quickly to them and they don't have a lot of health.

Gargantuan

Easy enough these, let them charge then dodge out of the way, they will be stunned and you can get stuck in. Continue to hit them if they swipe their sword as it does little damage, however should he begin to scrape his foot on the ground immediately pull back all your minions with b as he's about to charge. the charge itself isn't entirely straight, he'll curve to hit you, though slowly, this isn't a problem for the Overlord but your horde can end up spread out with a lot getting hit. To solve this problem put your minions on a guard marker (Hit Y) then select it with LT and move it with the RS, you can still move your overlord with the LS. Minions stay close together on a guard marker and you have more control over them, making it easier to dodge the Garganuan's attacks.

Everlight Temple Outskirts Troll

This is probably the easiest boss in the game, simply target him with LT and send all your minions in (if you have the max for this point in the game you should have 30). The moment he raises his arms hold B to call them all back to avoid his belly flop attack then simply send them in again. Rinse and repeat.

Everlight Temple Spider Boss

A lot of people have gotten stuck on this boss not being able to figure out what to do, it can seem tricky at first but once you’ve figured out the strategy this fight so bad. Notice that the switch in the middle of the area sends jets of water out of the side walls and that Gnarl mentions luring the spider with the pollen from the flowers. Simply select a flower with LT and send a minion to it with RT (keeping LT held down). With the LT still held down you can now use the RT to move the flower around to the side of the cave where the water tunnels are, the spider will follow when the flower explodes, hit the switch a it’ll be pushed off the wall onto the ground on its back, don’t get too close to where she lands or you and your minions will be knocked down. Send your minions in to attack it and after some damage it’ll “wobble” a little before it begins to right itself, so pull your minions out with b when this happens.

To activate the switch in the middle (and thus the water once more) you’ll have to either send a minion to each switch in the corner, or just run around yourself, taking care to defend against the small spiders the queen occasionally send to attack you (these aren’t very tough). When done gran another flower and knock lure the queen to the side, once more hitting the water just to land her on her back.

In the next part of the fight the Queen will sit on the wall beside one of the switches, attacking anything (minion or yourself) that comes by. You’ll have to distract her with a flower to be able to activate that corner switch, however they are on a timer so you may not get all four activated if you take too long to activate the other three after this, or take too long to distract the queen after activating the other three. It’s best to leave some minions on a guard marker (hit Y) on each of the other 3 switches, keeping some minions with yourself to deal with any small spiders threatening your guard markers, then lure the queen away from the final one and activate it, afterwards recalling all your minions with B. Once again lure her to the side with a flower and use the water to land her on her back. Repeat until she is dead (normally you’ll have to knock her on her back 4 or 5 times).

If at any point you run low on minions there are spawning portals dotted around the walls of the Chamber.

Everlight Town Empire formation/Governess Battle

This Battle sees you up against two Empire formations with archers backing them up on the left and right and supply tents behind pumping out more troops. It’s almost impossible to break through these with sheer brute force, certainly on the left, though you can manage it on the right with a bit of determination. However as always knowing what to do makes things much easier so instead you’re going to be sneaky. The minion portals right beside you as you enter the area should also make things easier should you run into trouble.

Soldiers will constantly attack you, as well the archers, so time is of the essence. First place all your minions on a guard marker (Hit Y) at the gate to deal with the troops that attack. With all command upgrades at this point you should have 35 available, take 15 browns, 10 greens and 10 reds. Next select the guard Marker with LT and withdraw one red minion (reds are best for the next part, hold RB and hit B to select them). Straight ahead is a small pathway only minions can access, that leads to some exploding barrels located behind the Empire troops on the right hand side. Hold LT to select these (you can either try to position yourself and tap LT until you select a barrel or hold LT and use RS to move through the options until you select one). With the barrel highlighted keep holding LT and hit RT to send a red minion to the barrel, he’ll pick it up and you can use RS to move him, destroy the tent first to stop the reinforcements.

Yeti Arena Battle

The next round has you facing two unicorns, see the enemy guide on how to deal with these however keep an eye on the second, a few charges close together can overwhelm the ability of your blues to revive the losses. Make sure to keep your minions on a guard marker when not attacking both so the blues heal and to avoid the charges.

Following this you’ll face a Gargantuan and some slaves. If you’re a dominating overlord you can make the salves your own as a good distraction, otherwise see the enemy guide for how to deal with the Gargantuan. Again if you take losses quickly place a Guard marker so that you’re blues will heal as minions are limited this battle.

Next you’ll face booth a Gargantuan and two Unicorns at the same time, as well as handful of slaves. Thankfully you now have raise barriers to both run then into and to hide behind so that you face just one at a time, which should be your main goal this battle. If you get caught fighting two or more it’s all too easy for almost your entire horde to be wiped out. This is what you the large groups of minions on the raised platforms were saved for, effectively giving you two more attempts. (if you have no reds you can destroy the barrels with your target spell). Concentrate on the Unicorns first as they are the most deadly and are the quickest to take you. If you’re feeling up to it you can also get the unicorns to fight the Gargantuan. This isn’t easy with them charging all over the place but it’ll make the fight a lot easier if you can manage it.

Finally you’ll face the Yeti, who will chuck exploding barrels at you that do massive damage. Stand in front of the wooden doors and dodge these, the doors will be destroyed and you can climb into the stands. Send your minions to the emperor’s viewing box to smash the pillars then return down and repeat the process for the other set of doors. With that done the Cutscene will roll and you’ll be left with the decision of what to do with the Yeti.

King Salamander

After Charging the Tower Heart for the Third time a cutscene will trigger and you’ll be faced with the Salamander King rolling up and now a ramp. It’ll break in the middle making a route down for you so dash down the left hand side onto the ground to avoid him. Run down the path and sand on the other side of the large pool of water, he’ll fall into this allowing you (and your Blues if you want, but they are ineffectual and get burnt when he moves away) to attack him. After a little damage he’ll get up and clear a path for you into the next area.

The Salamander king will now be rolling around a central island which requires your to activate two bridges to cross, if he hits a bridge it’ll be knocked down so you need to get your timing right. Stand at the enter to the first bridge and send a minion over to the switch on the right with RS straight after the King passes the bridge. Alternatively you can wait until he stands on the raised area at the back tossing fireballs at you giving time to cross. When on the central island quickly put your minions on a guard marker, you’ll need to select this with LT and move them with RS to dodge any fireballs if he begins this attack. Otherwise take a red minion and wait until he passes the walkway down on the right of the island, when he does use RS to move the red minion over to the second switch, wait until the King begins his fireball attack then activate it to cross. As before, if you’re quick, you can get across when he is rolling around if you activate the switch just after he passes.

When across follow the path and activate a third switch activating another bridge. Cross it and the Salamander King will attack you but fall short into the water. Again run down and hit him until he runs off and then continue on to find the third netherworld gate. Back at the switch for the Third Bridge there is a path leading down to the final Mana Upgrade [5], which you can now safely retrieve.

Continue on and you’ll arrive in a massive open area with the Salamander king rolling up and down two ramps with a jump in the middle. Make sure you have some blues here and head straight on, making sure to time things to avoid the king. You’ll pass some smaller salamanders but avoid these for now and continue around all the way to the right dodging the King again on the other side. Use either RT or RS to send your blues into the water and destroy the ramp the king is using to jump across. When he hits the water wade in and finish him off. Destroy his head to gain control of the Salamanders for your reds.

Solarius/The Devourer

It’s just like sweeping them, use LT to select the marker and RS to move them (you can move the Overlord as well with LS at the same time) only you have more control and when in formation they defend much better. Easy enough to finish the fight with your full 45/50 minions if careful.

That's incorrect.

The spider one has nothing to do with the Everlight town, but it's on the Temple Outskirts, after you exit the Spider Temple go forward to where you see the Exterminators and you'll have 3 - 4 spider webs you can climb up, one with 3 - 4 chests, one with a chest, one with a dark gem, the one on the far right of that area with a web going up has the gem, and the spiders spawn near where you found the 2nd keystone (which you fought the mountain giant) and saw the Light Fay again.

The only "Missable" is when you are fleeing the Wasteland Sanctuary and you come across the first Centurion (fat guy with gold armor), before you proceed to the Light Fay with the Towerheart you have to go up a set of stairs nearby to a dead end with a large amount of stuff to smash and you'll find another Dark Gem.

Yeah it's not right, it's a minion with a seal costume on, not the chopper picture.

Fixed the cut and paste error with the image, thanks. You need to dominate townsfolk and have them work the land for the seals to spawn, usually townspoeple take a little time after you gate to an area to get going mind you. The Wasteland is unfortunately near the end of the game and needs story progression to enter all areas. Lot to document there but I'll be making doubly sure to get everything as it's certainly the most likely place to miss an item in the game. Should be sometime tomorrow, or perhaps in the wee hours this morning, as I'll have the Blues walkthrough done tonight. I'll leave off posting any more location images up until the end (compared to the maps they take an age to edit and stop me progressing in game).

::EDIT::

Removed a quote of a post that was removed since the mods seem to have missed me quoting it.

::EDIT::

Wasteland Crystals:

1) Just north of your first gate, a little dead pointing south.

2) 1st Zombie Peasant Village middle north of map. Go up and behind the houses and smash everything on the wooden platforms, should be on the right side.

3) Zombie camp north middle section of map just before where you met Florian, tear down the small tent.

4) Ooze lake, northeast corner of it, the big loop path. it's just under the ooze, run some blues through and you'll find it easy.

There are your 4 crystals in Wasteland.

Get your crystals for Ultimate Collector

To get Minion Lover use the gnome life force farming technique for forge crystals in this post HERE: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=158169

Then play through as destruction and you've got all but the multiplayer achievements.
