magictroll
I have a 56 inch JVC that supports 720p, 1080i, and 1080p and I honestly can't tell the difference beween them. Can some of you really tell the difference?
P1NSEEKER
Not really! I just set it to 720p and leave well alone
CAMOUFLAGEiPOD
I run 720p for games, and run both 720 or 1080 for movies, the 360 hd dvd player supports 1080p if you have that. I cant really tell the anything different between the two. Basically what P1nseeker said 720 set it and forget it.
PerpetualHeaven
Yeah you won't really be able to tell the difference until you start getting into the huge TVs. If you have HD-DVD player use 1080p for the movies and use 720p for your games since that's what the games made for.

PerpetualHeaven
Nah most people don't report major differences until the 60-70" ranges. There is a difference but not enough for anyone to tell until it gets huge. I'm assuming you're using VGA cables correct?
dh4645
yeah it's hard to tell the difference, but i have a sony xbr3 1080p 40" lcd. it goes great with my ps3...360 stuff looks awesome too.

magictroll
component cables blue, green, red for video and white and red for audio Exactly! Thanks! So those are optimum for 1080i max, right? Won't make a difference if I set it to 1080p, would it?
Im a Manatee
Yes, 1080i is best with component. It really depends if you like your games slightly brighter with component or the look of your PC games. 1080i, since it is interlaced, can sort of rip and tear in faster games, such as Burnout or a fast FPS. 720p is arguably the cleanest, so stick with that. Some games don't even have 1080i, like Dynasty Warriors and such, so they have to scale it, and it looks pretty messy.
