cjdavies
I played Splinter Cell: Conviction and loved it. I 'm seeing mixed reviews about this and I can't download a demo to try it first. Is this any good, is it similar to SCC?
Majica8
A lot different to SCC really. A lot more stealthy, less focus on shooting people and more on sneaking around without touching anyone. It's like the first 3 games if you've played those. I think it's a great game, def worth buying a cheap pre-owned copy if you can find it. Online is pretty good too (although a bit dead last time I looked)

darkmikasonfire
okay seriously people stop calling it shit, you fantards got ahold of conviction and expect all of them to be like that, we true fans realize that conviction albeit was a decent game, is not really a splinter cell game at all. in the splinter cell series conviction was the PoS. you CoD bastards. WNxWattZ
Yeah agreed, just because you don't like the way your supposed to play the game doesn't make the game shit. Conviction in my opinion was a bit to easy and geared to far away from the original SC games. They were meant to be basically stealth focused games and that's their strength. If you've ever played the over SC games and like them, then you should like DA
G3N0Unknown
Little late, but I am a huge fan of SC series. I loved the original three (Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory) Conviction, took a different route which I was not pleased to see. Still a good game, but in light of it's predecessors, it was, as someone stated, the PoS of this Splinter Cell games. The multiplayer is fun, though a bit of a down grade from Chaos Theory (Which was my absolute favorite Multiplayer experience ever), but since Conviction completely did away with the who Spy vs Merc, it's the next best thing. Though I do believe it's pretty empty these days. I still play everynow and then. My friends just bought it a couple days ago, used, for $6, which I think is highly worth it, even if it's just to try it.
warborn718
Splinter Cell are games that I think should be solely single player. Double Agent seems pretty short compared to earlier games, I think it would have turned out better if they were more focused on tuning the solo mode and less focused trying to keep up with the trend of multiplayer. Its worth ten bucks used, but that's about it. I'm tired of comments from some of their new development crew like "the old SC games are like a weak old grandma sneaking around in the dark, we're gonna be like uncharted now." They need to go back to their roots, there's not many good stealth games out there.

DA is a bad ass game, SC just took a different direction, sort of like Halo4 did compared to rest of the series.
DarkReign2021
Double Agent was an enjoyable experience for people that played the first 3. It really took on a lot of changes that Chaos Theory made to the series (Chaos Theory is easily the best entry in the series and always will be) and added a few goodies of their own. Personally, though, if you're going to play Double Agent, I highly recommend playing the original Xbox version. The campaign was actually drastically different from the 360 version and had a much more extensive campaign with more levels and a more fleshed-out storyline. The 360 version was by no means bad, but there were parts of the story that felt under-developed compared to the Xbox version. And just to provide my credentials, Conviction's was a good game, but the developers streamlined it and made it way too fast-paced and easy to play. Half the fun of Splinter Cell was getting yourself through levels without being spotted and having to control your movement and actions. Moving too fast or sitting in a spot with too much light would get players caught. Tools like Sticky Shockers and EMP on the pistol to shoot out lights were the best part of the series, not to mention the fact that Sam only used 2 weapons (Five-SeveN and the SC20k) and didn't have an unnecessary amount of useless weapons. I miss the old days of Pacifist Ghost runs through the originals... May have to go back and do that again. Been wanting to play SC1 again anyway.
