Introduction

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is without a doubt, one of this year’s most ambitious titles. As a means of celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Halo 2 and brining the series to the Xbox One, 343 Industries has bundled the complete experiences of all the Master Chief games in the Halo series this holiday. Here, you will be able to tackle all four Campaigns of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4, as well as relive all four Multiplayer experiences, complete with every map every shipped – DLC and PC exclusives included. The achievement list for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is grand. Covering, for the first time, 4500 gamerscore, there are four hundred and fifty achievements to be earned. The achievements are split between six distinct segments – Overall, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer, Halo 3, and Halo 4 – and will task players with a number of feats both familiar and fresh. There are Easter Eggs to be discovered, mission-specific achievements to be tackled, collectibles to be recovered, and a number of milestone-based achievements spanning both the Single-Player Campaign and Multiplayer. At a bare minimum, given one pesky achievement, it will take three months to complete the entire game. With enough skill, persistence, and dedication, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be one hell of a completion to show off on your tag.

Initial Playthrough - Legendary (Reroute to "Playlist" section if new/unfamiliar to Halo games)

As a personal recommendation, go ahead and play through each of the four Campaigns on the Legendary difficulty setting right from the start. You can opt to play cooperatively with friends or by yourself as it doesn’t matter too much. During these four initial playthroughs, you will naturally unlock forty achievements for completing each individual mission in the four Campaigns as well as another sixteen achievements for completing each individual Campaign on the Legendary difficulty setting. If on these playthroughs you undertook cooperative action, you will also unlock three achievements after finishing your very first mission on Legendary with a Co-Op partner. When playing through the Campaigns, make sure to familiarize yourself with enemy AI behavior and the level design for each mission. These two facets will be extremely important in later playthroughs.

During these initial runs, take the time to thoroughly explore each and every mission. Exploration will be necessary in hunting down three sets of collectibles: Terminals in all four Campaigns, Skulls in the first three Campaigns, and Toys in the Halo 2 Campaign. In total, there are thirty-eight terminals to activate, which will net you forty-three achievements; there are forty-one skulls to recover, which unlock another forty-six achievements; and lastly, there are eight new toys to hunt down, which will unlock nine achievements. Please keep in mind that in regards to the skull collectibles, Halo 2's skulls, unlike Halo: CE and Halo 3, must be collected on Legendary with the exception of Blind and Assassins.

The initial playthrough craze does not end there. Use this time wisely to knock out the many mission-specific achievements that are tied to the Legendary difficulty. There are quite a few mission-specific achievements to take into account: fourteen in Halo: Combat Evolved, seven in Halo 2, five in Halo 3, and seven in Halo 4. As a means of minimizing the amount of playthroughs necessary for completion, let’s take into consideration the Easter Egg achievements at this time. In Halo: Combat Evolved, there are seven that must be discovered. In Halo 2, there are ten eggs. In Halo 3, there are another ten worth hunting down. Lastly, in Halo 4, there’s only one single egg worth discovering.

It’s almost time wrap up the initial playthroughs section of this walkthrough, but before we can do that, let’s shift focus to some of the overall achievements that span all four titles. Between slaughtering all nine enemy types across the four Campaigns, unlocking Campaign medals, and completing Campaign missions, you will naturally gain progress towards forty-four of the overall achievements within the game. Chances are you will only make a small dent in these achievements, but the next few playthroughs are sure to see said tasks complete in no time.

UPDATE: The activation and utilization of negative scoring skulls such as “BANDANA” and "SCARAB" will no longer void any achievements related to mission completion and campaign completion. Unfortunately, these skulls will still void Par Time and Par Score achievements.

NOTE OF IMPORTANCE: At any time during these initial playthroughs within the Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 Campaign, make sure to swap between Classic Mode and Remastered Mode at least once per mission. This is necessary for Halo: Combat Evolved's Before and After achievement and Halo 2’s Tighten Up The Graphics achievement.

LASO Playthrough (Preferably Co-Op)

This is where the Campaigns of all four Halo games become a horrendously intimidating nightmarish hell, while ironically remaining one of the most satisfying experiences in all of gaming. For those unfamiliar with the term “LASO,” it’s a cleverly designed acronym for what was once considered a fan-made difficulty setting in the Halo games. Originally called, “Mythic” this difficulty setting has become a legitimate staple within the Halo series, tasking players to complete the entirety of a Campaign on Legendary, with every skull modifier turned on at once; in other words, Legendary All Skulls On.

In Halo: The Master Collection, players will be rewarded with four individual achievements that pertain to successfully completing each of the four Campaign’s new LASO playlists, while a fifth achievement will unlock once all four LASO playlists have been completed. Get ready to grab your closest friends and probably stalk and beg the best Halo players on the web. You’re going to need a skilled and persistent team to get these five achievements done. With certain skulls permanently cloaking enemies, and others that remove your HUD and recreate enemy behavior to mirror that of omniscient creatures that know your every move and hiding spot, these four playthroughs will test even the mightiest of seasoned Halo veterans.

UPDATE: Each of the Campaign's LASO playlist achievements can now be exploited by sharing checkpoints. If one player gets to the final mission of a Campaign, they can "Save/Quit," invite another player to the lobby, and "Resume" the playlist. When the final mission loads, the host should now "Save/Quit" again. This will give any players in the lobby that final mission's starting checkpoint for whichever Campaign's LASO playlist this was done for.

Cross-Game & Game Specific Playlist Playthroughs

Halo: The Master Chief Collection marks the debut of Campaign playlists. These playlists aim to string together a series of Campaign missions that share a common thread. There are specific Campaign playlists for each individual game, as well as cross-Campaign playlists. At this time, there are a total of eleven achievements related to these playlists. While hopping back into the Campaigns so many times may seem daunting and even downright boring, it’s a task that requires your full attention and dedication to the Single-Player.

These achievements are actually quite enjoyable. They speak to the confidence of the developer in creating such unique playlists that revolve around a central element, such as packaging all the Flood missions across the first three Campaigns or packaging all the vehicular missions of Halo 2. Again, these achievements are tedious, but other than the Master Chief Saga playlist (which is considered the third full playthrough [automatically set to Normal] of all 45 Campaign missions), they shouldn’t be too bad nor take too long. On the bright side, these playlists will help add progress for the overall kill, mission completion, and medal obtainment achievements!

Par Time & Par Score Playthroughs

These are the last two full playthroughs of each Campaign you’ll have to endure. In total, there are forty-four Par Time achievements - eleven in Halo: Combat Evolved, fourteen in Halo 2, ten in Halo 3, and nine in Halo 4 – and forty-four Par Score achievements - eleven in Halo: Combat Evolved, forteen in Halo 2, ten in Halo 3, and nine in Halo 4.

These tasks require players to complete each mission of every Campaign in two ways. For Par Time, you’ll have to complete the mission under a specific allotted time (in other words, speed-running). As for Par Score, you’ll need to achieve the base competitive score for each mission. If you have played Halo 3 in the past, the Par Score achievements are similar to the Meta Game Scoring achievements seen there. Points will be rewarded based off medals obtained in combat; such as killing sprees, melee attacks, headshots, and multikills.

All in all, some of these achievements may actually come naturally during any of the previous playthroughs, though for the sake of breaking down the achievement list, Par Time and Par Score achievements are best explained as if they are to be done in their own separate playthroughs. This is because of the following reasons: A) Your initial playthrough is already covering a vast majority of the achievement list, meaning you can’t beat the Par Time for every mission while collectible hunting and grabbing other mission-specific achievements; B) Given the difficulty of your LASO playthroughs, there is no possible way to achieve Par Time on each mission, let alone Par Score if you’re skipping firefights; C) Many of the playlists do not cover every single mission in a Campaign, so it’s impossible to fully pair these achievements with the playlists playthrough; D) A dedicated playthrough here for each Campaign adds even more progress for those pesky overall kill, mission completion, and medal obtainment achievements.

As stated before, you don’t necessarily have to follow this suggestion, however it’s what’s best for completion purposes. As a final note, there are four different achievements that are rewarded for completing each of the four Campaigns on the Legendary difficulty setting in under three hours. By utilizing the speed running tactics in the videos provided in the guide below, you will almost certainly grab the Par Time achievements for each of the missions on the way. As for Par Scores, these can be approached in a Solo or Co-Op playthrough and you can visit THIS LINK, courtesy of Life Expectancy, for detailed information regarding how the Par Scores are best obtained in each mission of the four Campaigns.

Miscellaneous Tasks

At this time, it would appear that a few miscellaneous achievements remain. Get ready to mark your calendars; playing a game of Halo: Combat Evolved on the 15th of any month, a game of Halo 2 on 9th of any month, a game of Halo 3 on the 25th of any month, and a game of Halo 4 on the 6th of any month, will unlock four distinct achievements. Other than that, there are a few achievements between Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 that are not directly tied to a specific mission. For example, in Halo: Combat Evolved, there are achievements for killing a Hunter with a single pistol round, completing a level without jumping, and completing a level on Legendary without taking health damage. As for Halo 2, you’ll need to keep in mind that there are achievements for completing a level in Co-Op on Heroic with the Masterblaster Skull active, completing a level on Heroic with only the Streaking Skull active, killing seven enemies from behind in a row without being spotted, completing any Campaign level without dying on Normal, and killing a berserk Brute with a melee attack. As a standard set of miscellaneous achievements, these can be achieved on any mission, so long as the pre-requisites are in place.

Multiplayer

The Multiplayer portion in Halo: The Master Chief Collection will consume a good amount of your time. Primarily, a small chunk of the online achievements are milestone-based. For instance, you’ll need to win five hundred online matches (Custom Games work as an alternative) for a total of eleven achievements. Likewise, although the next two tasks are split between Campaign and Multiplayer, you’ll also be asked to complete five hundred missions or online matches (Custom Games work as an alternative) and obtain a grand total of ten thousand unique Campaign or Multiplayer playlist medals. The former task covers twelve achievements and the latter covers eleven different achievements. In addition to these two tasks, you will also be required to kill at least twenty thousand enemies or players between Campaign and Multiplayer. Again, this covers three separate achievements. Lastly, one of the most burdensome achievements on the list requires players to boot up a Custom Game of Capture the Flag on Halo: Combat Evolved’s Blood Gulch. The catch is that you’ll need to do this with four players on the same console. As you can see, many of the aforementioned achievements will unlock through minimal effort as you spend time battling online opponents through the online matchmaking.

On the other hand, there several achievements related to Custom Games, Forge Mode, and the Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer playlist. For example, there are two achievements related to creating five custom game types and crafting five maps in Forge Mode, while another achievement is rewarded for killing a 343 Industries developer (or a player who has). In addition to this, there are five Multiplayer Easter Egg achievements related to particular Halo 2 (Classic) maps, thirty-five competitive Multiplayer achievements related to Halo 2: Anniversary playlists, and three Multiplayer Easter Egg achievements related to Halo 3 maps. As mentioned, some of these achievements are as simple as finding a hidden Easter Egg in a Multiplayer map, though a decent amount of them are rewarded for performing luck-based and skill-based feats while playing on specific maps and in specific playlists. Fortunately for us, nearly all of the Multiplayer achievements can be obtained with secondary controllers or even by ourselves in Custom Games, except for the following seven below.

NOTE OF IMPORTANCE: All of the Multiplayer Easter Eggs and Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer achievements can be unlocked in Custom Games alone or with other players so long as the achievement description does not say, “in a matchmade game.” Thus, Shields Up!, MVP, Warden, Ninja Redux, and Flaming Ninja Anniversary are five achievements that must be done in matchmaking. Additionally, despite it's description not stating so, Zealot must be done in matchmade games as well. Finally, Bite the Hand will require an online connection so that you can play against another player, but this can be done in Custom Games.

Mop-Up

At this point, you’ve exhausted the four Campaigns to the point of never having any intention to return to their narratives. You’ve probably even dedicated more than one hundred hours to the Multiplayer as well. If you have somehow missed any of the four hundred and fifty achievements on this list – chances are you did – simply use this time to mop them up. It should be noted that if your full Legendary playthroughs of the Halo 4 Campaign were always done cooperatively, you unfortunately have to revisit that Campaign yet again. Halo 4 is the only game that requires players to complete the Campaign on Solo Legendary, so keep that in mind. Other than that sad piece of news dropped here, you should be good to go in terms of mopping up what’s left, especially on the Multiplayer portion of this collection.

Conclusion

Overall, Halo: The Master Chief Collection offers an unmatched experience this year. With four complete games bundled for the price of one, players will be able to hop back and forth between their favorite experiences in both the Campaign and Multiplayer with ease. The achievement list here is nothing short of difficult; you’re going to have to sit down and dedicate a tremendous amount of time for each of the four games. Many of the overall achievements will come naturally as you play and you will already have noticed that many of the Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 4 achievements are similar to their original counterparts. With the exception of the new toy and terminal collectibles in Halo 2, Par Time and Par Score tasks for each game, and a few other new achievements, fans of the series should feel comfortable with the list and have no problem unlocking a vast majority of the achievements. With steadfast dedication and skill, Halo: The Master Chief Collection can be completed in as little as three months. It’ll take a number of playthroughs and Multiplayer matches to do so, but the end result will be grand. With that, good luck, gamers. Have fun with this fantastic bundle and we’ll meet again this time next year for Halo 5: Guardians.

OVERALL ACHIEVEMENTS

Complete one cross-game playlist.

Please refer below to Sample Plate for more information.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93665-lo.jpg Sample Plate 20:gsicon:

Complete three cross-game playlists.

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, cross-game playlists make their debut as a means of experiencing a particular set missions between all four Campaigns that all share a common thread. Hand-crafted by the developer, some of these playlists are unique, such as all the Banshee-related missions or all Flood-related missions or even all the sniping-related missions that are spread out among the four Campaigns.

Since the Master Chief Saga playlist must be completed for a separate achievement, all that is required is to complete a minimum of two other cross-game playlists for this achievement. The best playlists to experience for this achievement are the following three, though you don't need to follow this recommendation:

  • Hogs, Jets, Tanks, and Mechs - Assault on the Control Room, The Arbiter, The Storm, Infinity
  • Final Four - The Maw, The Great Journey, Halo, Midnight
  • Get in the Ring - Halo, Delta Halo, Halo

Simply pick and choose whichever three cross-game Campaign playlists you'd like to work on and once they have all been successfully completed, this achievement will be yours.

Complete the Master Chief Saga playlist.

As a means of experiencing Master Chief's epic journey from The Pillar of Autumn in Halo: Combat Evolved and all the way to the tragic events of Midnight in Halo 4, the Master Chief Saga playlist compiles all forty-five Campaign missions on the Normal difficulty. As such, this means the aforementioned playlist will net an entire playthrough of each Campaign, allowing you time to grab any collectibles, Easter Eggs, and even non-difficulty-tied mission-specific achievements that you have not already obtained in prior playthroughs.

Like any playlist, this does not need be completed in one sitting. Rather, the game will save your progress in the standard fashion after each checkpoint or completed mission, meaning you can return to this playlist in the Main Menu at any time. Also, because the difficulty is automatically set to Normal, there shouldn't be any issues in completing this playlist with ease, be it on your own or with a cooperative partner. Once the entire playlist has been completed, from beginning to end, the achievement will finally unlock.

This achievement will unlock so long as you successfully complete any mission within any of the four Campaigns while playing cooperatively on Legendary. Chances are you will be playing most of the missions with a friend or other groups of people for some of the harder missions and LASO playlists, so this achievement will come naturally.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93670-lo.jpg Legend 50:gsicon:

Complete all campaigns on Legendary difficulty.

This achievement will unlock once all four Campaigns have been successfully completed on either a Solo Legendary playthrough or Cooperative Legendary playthrough. There are multiple methods in tackling the missions of each Campaign, but keep these general tips in mind when playing:

  • Utilize the Noob-Combo (Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle) at all times when facing Elites and Promethean Knights; an overcharged Plasma Pistol shot will drain their shields, and a quick burst or two from the Battle Rifle will down these foes easily
  • Utilize vehicles – Ghosts, Banshees, Warthogs, etc. – as frequently as possible; their firepower helps clear out areas quickly and you can even drive past enemy encounters if the mission allows for it
  • When facing Hunters, get close enough so that they charge at you, allowing time to side step their attack; when the orange flesh on their back is exposed, shoot it, as this is their only weak spot
  • Don’t neglect the basics of using cover; when your shields drop down, hide behind a wall or crouch behind an object before charging back out into battle
  • Try exploring the levels and finding alternate routes behind or around the enemies; this can help save time by skipping major firefights, especially in Halo: CE and Halo 2.

Overall, because seasoned Halo players will be familiar with both level design and enemy behavior, completing each of the Campaigns on Legendary will be quite easy. Utilizing the Noob-Combo (Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle) is by far the best tactic when dealing with shielded enemies; so don’t neglect these weapons just because a shotgun, sniper rifle, or sword is nearby. It doesn’t matter which order you complete the Campaigns or even if you decided to hop from one Campaign mission to another Campaign mission. Once all the missions in Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 have been completed on the Legendary difficulty setting, this achievement will be yours.

Activate all terminals.

In total, there are 38 terminals spread across the four Campaigns that must be activated for this achievement. More specifically, there are 10 terminals in Halo: Combat Evolved, 13 terminals in Halo 2, 7 terminals in Halo 3, and 7 terminals in Halo 4. These terminal stations are well-hidden within the missions of each Campaign, so it will take a keen eye and some exploration in order to track them down. The terminals also differ in appearance from game to game, which might cause confusion. In Halo: Combat Evolved, they appear to be bright yellow holograms with a flashing panel. On the other hand, terminals in Halo 4 are small, grey console stations that have a dim yellow light glowing on the face of the console.

Take note that you do not necessarily need to read/listen/watch the entire terminal because progress towards this achievement registers as soon as it’s activated. It is highly recommended to spend the two to three minutes in observing each terminal though. Once activated, they will provided crucial backstory to the Halo Universe. For example, the terminals in Halo: Combat Evolved reveal the origins of 343 Guilty Spark and Installation 04, while the terminals in Halo 4 give a glimpse into the Forerunner’s culture. Also, take note that in Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, terminals will not appear while playing in Classic Mode. Once all 37 terminals have been activated, this achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93996-lo.jpg Throne of Bones 30:gsicon:

Find and claim all the campaign skulls in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3.

In total, there are 41 skulls scattered across the aforementioned Campaigns that must be collected for this achievement. More specifically, there are 13 skulls in Halo: Combat Evolved, 15 skulls in Halo 2, and 13 terminals in Halo 3. These skull collectibles are extremely well-hidden and come in the appearance of an actual human skull. At times, you will find that some are only obtainable for reaching obscure locations via grenade jumps and other advanced tactics. Needless to say, it will take a tremendous amount of exploration to locate these skulls.

These skulls are a unique collectible in that they act as significant gameplay modifiers. When activated via the Campaign Lobby Menu, skulls will alter the way the Campaign is played by either removing your HUD, permanently cloaking all enemies, promoting enemies to their highest rank, or even disabling the recharge ability of your shields unless you melee an enemy. With that said, these skulls are an awesome set of collectibles to hunt down. Take note however that in Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, skulls will not appear while playing in Classic Mode. Once all 41 skulls have been collected, this achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93659-lo.jpg The Guardians Are Coming 5:gsicon:

Get killed by the Guardians.

The Guardians are an unknown entity within the Halo games that appear to be the cause of death when players are killed under unknown or bizarre circumstances, or even when players travel outside the boundaries of a Multiplayer map during an online game.

In addition, objects that hold no ownership to a player, such as the train in Halo 2’s Terminal Multiplayer map are grounds for Guardian induced deaths. With this information on hand, the easiest way to obtain this achievement is to load up a Custom Game on Halo 2's Terminal map and simply allow the train to run you over. In doing this, the achievement will unlock without any issues.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93660-lo.jpg Mystery Achievement 5:gsicon:

Inscrutable. Mysterious.

Similar to the "fortune cookie" Easter Eggs in Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3, this achievement is obtainable at any point in the game while editing any map in Forge Mode. When you are ready to save your custom map, enter ".fortune" as the map name and the following message will appear: "Sorry, this fortune is temporarily out of order." As soon as this message appears, the achievement will unlock right away.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93667-lo.jpg Stick With It 5:gsicon:

Play a multiplayer or co-op game at least 3 months after your first game.

This achievement is the sole reason why Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take a bare minimum of three months to complete. As the description states, all that is required of you is to enter a Multiplayer match or start a Campaign mission three months after the very first day you played the game.

Generally, players will be playing the Campaign missions and tackling the Multiplayer on release date, November 11th, so this achievement has the potential to unlock as early as February 11th for launch-day players. If this is not the case for you, just stick with the game long enough and this achievement will naturally unlock in no time.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/95385-lo.jpg Game Master 5:gsicon:

Created and saved 5 Custom Game types.

The achievement's description here is quite self-explanatory. From the Main Menu, simply enter the Multiplayer Menu and then load up the Custom Games Menu. This will then allow you to choose whichever game, map and gametype you want to amend.

Once the following three choices have been made, you will enter the Options Menu where you can tinker with the session's gameplay options - such as general traits, weapon, and vehicle settings. You will want to change the settings (such as player movement speed) and press the right thumbstick to save the gametype name and file description. Now repeat this process four more times by changing other gameplay settings and the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/95389-lo.jpg Master Forger 5:gsicon:

Created and saved 5 Custom Maps in Forge.

The achievement's description here is quite self-explanatory. From the Main Menu, enter Forge Mode and load up whichever map you want to tinker with. Once the Forge session has started, create one or two new objects on the map wherever you want. After doing this, save the map under the name and file description of your choosing. Now repeat this process four more times within the same Forge session and the achievement will unlock without any issues.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/95362-lo.jpg Bite the Hand 10:gsicon:

Kill a 343 developer in matchmaking or someone who has this achievement.

According to Halo Waypoint’s Community Calendar, members of 343 Industries will be on Xbox Live and in Halo’s matchmaking on November 17th, from 6:00-8:00pm PST (Pacific Standard Time).

What this means is that on the aforementioned date, players will be matched up with 343 developers and once they have killed a developer, they will unlock this achievement. From there, anyone who kills that particular player will also unlock the achievement and so on. Like any viral achievement, it will take a while before a large portion of the online community has this achievement. If you stick with the Multiplayer long enough, you’ll come across an enemy player who has already unlocked it and thus, once you kill them, the achievement will be yours.

Kill 20,000 enemies or players.

As a cumulative achievement, this will most likely come naturally during your time playing the four Campaigns and messing around in the Multiplayer or in Custom Games. On average, each mission in every Campaign usually houses anywhere from 150 to 200 enemies in total. Using this estimate, a single playthrough of all four campaigns will net a low total of 5,000 kills to a high total of 8,000 kills towards this achievement.

You will be playing the four Campaigns a bare minimum of around five times each for a multitude of different achievements. This means obtaining 20,000 enemy kills will be as simple as working on every other Campaign-related achievement whether that’s in a Solo playhrough or Cooperative playthrough. On the other hand, Multiplayer and Custom Game kills against online opponents also count towards this achievement, so splitting your time between the Single Player and the Multiplayer will help unlock this achievement with greater ease. Once you have amassed a total kill count of 20,000 enemies or players, this achievement will finally unlock.

Kill 1000 Grunts.

As the lowest ranking species in the Covenant, these enemies are often treated as cannon fodder and will be encountered in small groups of three or five, often led by a single Elite.

Given their pack-like nature, these Grunts will only pose a significant threat when they are confronted in large groups. They generally wield Plasma Pistols and Needlers – two of the weaker Covenant weapons – though some high-ranked Grunts will often carry Fuel Rod Cannons as well. They are the most common enemy found within the game and will appear in nearly every single level of each Campaign. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Grunts, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Elites.

Elites are one of the most intelligent and combat-skilled species within the Covenant. Often regarded as pack-leaders, these enemies are usually found roaming around with a group of three to five Grunts, or among their own brethren in groups of two or three.

Unlike most Covenant enemies, Elites are no simple threat to eliminate. They generally wield Plasma Rifles, Carbines, Energy Swords and Fuel Rod Cannons and they also have shields, much like the Master Chief. All of this makes combat with Elites more diverse than ever. You’ll need to expend a significant amount of well-placed shots to strip their shields before they finally topple over to their death. As a general note, firing an overcharge Plasma Pistol shot at an Elite will strip their shields, thus leaving them vulnerable for a quick headshot from a Magnum, Battle Rifle, Covenant Carbine, or DMR.

Elites appear in nearly every level of each Campaign, with the exception of Halo 3; in this Campaign, Elites have allied with the Humans, which means they will not be a present threat in battle. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Elites, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Jackals.

These savage reptilian mercenaries act as the defensive support troops for the Covenant. They tend to travel in packs of two and prove to be quite a burden in killing if you are not aware of their explicit weakness.

Typically serving as sniper scouts and defensive fighters, Jackals enjoy to keep their distance in battle given their keen perception of sight and hearing. The standard defensive Jackals are simply armed with wrist-mounted energy shields and Plasma Pistols. On the other hand, Jackal Snipers and Rangers are armed with Carbines and Beam Rifles. When dealing with the former variant, try to pick off shots at the small slits in their wrist-mounted shield. This causes them to stumble back, exposing themselves for further attacks such as headshots. The latter variant are vicious and unforgiving so make sure to utilize cover often when dealing with them from afar. Jackals are the second-most common enemy found within the game and will appear in nearly every single level of each Campaign. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Jackals, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Brutes.

Brutes are one of the most aggressive species within the Covenant. These ape-like creatures often travel in packs among each other and generally wield their own variant of a Plasma Rifle, as well as Brute Shots and Covenant Carbines. On rare occasion, you will often time encounter Brute Chieftains that carry Fuel Rod Cannons and Gravity Hammers.

Brutes are special in that they are not introduced into the series until Halo 2. Here, they are still formidable forces but it is not until Halo 3 – where Brutes become the main enemy variant – that they use energy shielding just like the Master Chief and Covenant Elites. This shielding makes them a little harder to deal with given their overly aggressive behavior in combat. In addition to this, most Brutes in both games also wear armor plating on their heads, which can prove to be a burden in removing when aiming for headshots. Remember, Brutes do not appear in Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 4. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Brutes, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 250 Hunters.

These creatures are by far the strongest forces in the Covenant. Fitted with a heavy fuel rod cannon in one arm and an impervious shield in the other, Hunters barely flinch when taking damage from your firepower. Hunters are a unique species within the Covenant in that they are actually made up of smaller worm-like organisms. When grouped together, they form the massively armor-plated nightmares players would wish to avoid in combat.

Despite their size, Hunters are very swift on their feat and will also travel with a single other pack member. When dealing with the enemies in combat, the best way to kill them is to get close. When you are in their “personal bubble,” they will charge at you. At this time, quickly step to the side and turn around to spot the exposed orange worms on their back. This is their only weakness, so either melee them or spray your weapon here!

Keep in mind that while Hunters are one of the least-common enemies found within the game, but they do indeed appear in each of the four Campaigns. As a note, Halo: CE's "Truth and Reconciliation" has six Hunters, "Silent Cartographer" has four Hunters, and Assault on the Control Room has six Hunters. These missions are probably the best place to grind out kills by manipulating checkpoints saves since most checkpoints are given to players before battling Hunters. In fact, on Silent Cartographer, players should always receive a checkpoint before reaching the Hunter pair on the path to the security control room. Using the equipped Magnum, you can quickly kill both Hunters, and then restart your checkpoint to grind out the kills. Once you have killed a total of 250 Hunters, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Watchers.

Promethean Watchers are a highly advanced Forerunner A.I. that will only appear in Halo 4. Serving as defense units for Promethean Knights, you can always spot these pesky enemies hovering above their masters. In fact, Knights are the sole source of their spawn, via the carapace on the Knight’s back.

Given their guardian-like nature, they will prove to be very stubborn in battle. They provide covering support with Boltshots, project Hardlight Shields onto Knights, and even revive destroyed Knights in the midst of battle. If that wasn’t enough to prove their worth, Watchers will also redirect any thrown grenades back to you via a gravity displacement beam. With this mind, make sure to take on Watchers from afar with steady-shot weapons such as a Carbine or Battle Rifle. Getting rid of them early in battle will be necessary before focusing your attention on other enemies.

A perfect opportunity to grind out Watcher kills would be during the final mission of the Campaign, Midnight. From the Campaign lobby, go ahead and load up Rally Point Bravo on the aforementioned mission. As you run up the ramp and through the door into the next hallway, there will be four Watchers in this large chamber. You can opt to kill all four with your precision weapon, then reload the checkpoint to grind out the kills. Remember, these Promethean enemies only appear in Halo 4. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Watchers, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Knights.

Promethean Knights are another form of advanced Forerunner A.I. that will only appear in Halo 4. These warriors prove to the most serious threat in battle due to their increased survivability via Watchers, advanced heavy weaponry, and the ability to teleport in combat.

Armed with Light Rifles, Binary Rifles, Scattershots, and even Incineration Cannons, you’ll have to make sure to tackle combat with these warriors in an intelligent manner. Much like Covenant Elites, Knights often lead groups of Promethean Crawlers into battle and have energy shields that recharge at a faster rate than that of Elites. When squaring off against these foes, bring your best; Shotguns and the Noob-Combo will prove to be beneficial.

A perfect opportunity to grind out Knight kills would be during the final mission of the Campaign, Midnight. From the Campaign lobby, go ahead and load up Rally Point Bravo on the aforementioned mission. Continue through the mission normally until you reach the small armory that houses the Gravity Hammer and other UNSC and Promethean weaponry. Here, grab whatever weapon you'd like, perhaps a Scattershot and the Gravity Hammer and proceed through the portal.

When you emerge inside another room, there will be one Knight facing away from you, as well as four other Knights deeper in the chamber. Because the game gives you a checkpoint inside the armory, you can kill all the enemies in this chamber and then restart the checkpoint to continue the grind. Remember, these Promethean enemies only appear in Halo 4. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Knights, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Crawlers.

Promethean Crawlers are the third and final advanced Forerunner A.I. that will only appear in Halo 4. These enemies play a similar role to that of Covenant Grunts; however do not underestimate their ability in battle. Their advanced agility and swarming tactics demonstrate just how menacing they truly are when fighting a pack in close-quarters combat.

Crawlers are usually armed with Boltshots, however the stronger variants will often time carry Suppressors and even Binary Rifles. Crawlers enjoy attacking in swarms and even retreating, as a means of luring players into more dangerous combat. Given these harassment tactics, it’s best to face off against Crawlers from afar, picking them off with simple headshots.

A perfect opportunity to grind out Crawler kills would be during the final mission of the Campaign, Midnight.

When you emerge inside another room, there will be five Knights, as well as six to eight Crawlers. Because the game gives you a checkpoint inside the armory, you can kill all the enemies in this room and then restart the checkpoint to continue the grind. Remember, these Promethean enemies only appear in Halo 4. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Crawlers, this achievement will unlock.

Kill 1000 Flood.

The Flood is a unique species of highly virulent parasitic organisms that reproduce by consuming sentient life forms that hold enough biomass and cognitive capability to sustain life. Argued to be the very sole reason why the entire events of the Halo Universe exist, the Flood are by far the greatest threat in the existence of life.

These enemies are extremely adaptable, dangerous, and expendable. Rarely will you ever encounter a firefight with the Flood in which victory will be smoothly achieved. There are a few different variants, ranging from the Infection form to the Carrier and Combat forms as well. The latter of the three – the Combat form – are the most vicious in battle.

Armed with nearly every type of weapon imaginable, you will be hard pressed to hold your own without arming yourself with significant firepower. Generally, the Shotgun and Energy Sword are the best weapons to use against the Flood. It is also important to take note of one peculiar note: When you kill a Combat form, they aren’t truly dead yet, because the Infection form can essentially “revive” them. With this said, make sure to shoot off – or slice off – their arms and heads and feet when they topple over to their assumed death.

Lastly, take note that the Flood does not appear until mid-game in Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. Specifically, they are present - in heavy force - in all Halo: CE missions after "343 Guilty Spark." In Halo 2, they are present in "The Oracle," "Sacred Icon," "Quarantine Zone," and "High Charity." Lastly, in Halo 3, they will appear in "Floodgate," "The Covenant," "Cortana," and "Halo." Furthermore, the Flood do not appear in Halo 4 at any time. Once you have killed a total of 1,000 Flood enemies, this achievement will unlock.

As a cumulative achievement, this will most likely come naturally as you consistently work on the four Campaigns and partake in online Multiplayer matches or even Custom Game matches. Just like the description says, you must successfully complete the mission or online match in order for progress to count towards this achievement.

Take note that while progress does not count if you quit out of an online match, the best method in obtaining this achievement quickly is to load up a custom game (preferably Halo: CE's Beaver Creek as it loads faster than H2A maps) and immediately end the session when the game begins. This will count as a win towards this achievement. Once 500 missions or multiplayer games have been completed, the achievement will unlock.

As a cumulative achievement, this will most likely come naturally as you spend time on the Multiplayer portion of the game or even messing around in Custom Game matches. If you desire to work on this quickly, try hanging around the SWAT and Rumble playlists as these will offer fast-paced action where the matches will last, on average, anywhere from three to five minutes.

Alternatively, you can opt to boost this on your own in Custom Games for an even quicker method in obtaining this achievement. In the Custom Games lobby, simply load up Halo: CE's Beaver Creek (gametype does not matter) and begin the match. As soon as the game begins, pause your game, click "End Game" and this will automatically count as a win for you. Once you have successfully won 500 Multiplayer games, the achievement will unlock.

Medals are preset rewards that appear in the Campaign and Multiplayer portions of the game. These medals showcase special in-game tasks that players have undertaken in the form of achieving different kill sprees, completing specific objectives, and performing other combat-oriented tasks.

As a general note, there are well over one hundred unique medals that can be obtained during your career lifetime on both Campaign and Multiplayer. Below, you will find ten of the most common medals with their appropriate descriptions:

  • Headshot – Kill an enemy with a headshot (Campaign or Multiplayer)
  • Grenade Stick - Kill an enemy with a Plasma grenade stick
  • Supercombine - Kill an opponent by using a Needler
  • Double Kill - Kill two opponents within four seconds of each other
  • Multi-Kill – Score three or more kills within 1.5 seconds
  • Beatdown – Kill an enemy/opponent with a melee attack
  • Close Call - Kill an opponent while your health is low and survive
  • Killjoy – Kill an online opponent who is on a Killing Spree or higher
  • Killing Spree – Kill five enemies/opponents in a row without dying
  • EMP – Kill an enemy within 2 seconds of destroying their shields with a charged Plasma Pistol shot (Campaign Only)

As you can see, there are many unique medals that can be obtained in both the Campaign and Multiplayer. On average, players who are tackling the Campaign on their own (or even with a Co-Op partner) can net anywhere from fifty to one hundred medals in a single mission. In Multiplayer, an experienced player can net an average of ten to fifteen medals so long as they vary their playstyle and know how to handle different encounters with online opponents.

This achievement may seem like a daunting task and even a tedious grind, but with so many Campaign playthroughs required, you will find that these medal achievements come naturally without much thought while tackling the four different Campaigns. Once you have obtained a total of 10,000 medals, this achievement will finally unlock.

This achievement will unlock once all ten missions of the Halo: Combat Evolved Campaign have been successfully completed on either a Solo Legendary playthrough or Cooperative Legendary playthrough. There are multiple methods in tackling the missions of the Campaign, but keep these general tips in mind when playing:

  • Utilize the Pre-Noob-Combo (Plasma Pistol/Magnum Pistol) at all times when facing Elites; an overcharged Plasma Pistol shot will drain their shields, and a quick Magnum round to the cranium will down the warriors easily
  • Utilize ground vehicles – Warthogs, Scorpions, and Ghosts – as frequently as possible; their firepower in missions such as Halo, Silent Cartographer, and Assault on the Control Room will help clear out areas quickly and you can even drive past enemy encounters if the mission allows for it
  • When facing Hunters, get close enough so that they charge at you, allowing time to side step their attack; when the orange flesh on their back is exposed, shoot it, as this is their only weak spot
  • When squaring off against the Flood, keep a Shotgun on hand; it’s the best weapon to use against the parasite
  • Don’t neglect the basics of using cover; when your shields drop down, hide behind a wall or crouch behind an object before charging back out into battle
  • Try exploring the levels and finding alternate routes behind or around the enemies; this can help save time by skipping major firefights on levels such as Truth and Reconciliation, Silent Cartographer, and even The Library.

Overall, because seasoned Halo players will be familiar with both level design and enemy behavior, completing the entire Campaign on Legendary will be quite easy. Once all the missions in Halo: Combat Evolved have been completed on the Legendary difficulty setting, this achievement will be yours.

Halo CE: Complete a Halo: CE playlist.

Please refer below to Excellent Taste for more information.

Halo CE: Complete three Halo: CE playlists.

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Campaign playlists make their debut as a means of experiencing a particular set missions that all share a common thread. Hand-crafted by the developer, some of these playlists are unique, such as all the vehicle-realted missions or all Flood-related missions within the Campaign. There's also playlists for Easy Campaign, Normal Campaign, Heroic Campaign, Legendary Campaign, and LASO Campaign.

Since the LASO Campaign playlist must be completed for a separate achievement, all that is required is to complete a minimum of two other playlists for this achievement. In Halo: Combat Evolved, the shortest playlists - which also prove to be quite enjoyable - are the following:

  • Vehicle Playground - Halo, The Silent Cartographer, Assault on the Control Room
  • Daring Escapes - The Pillar of Autumn, The Truth and Reconciliation, The Maw
  • A New Threat - 343 Guilty Spark, The Library, Two Betrayals

Simply pick and choose whichever three Campaign playlists you'd like to work on and once they have all been successfully completed, this achievement will be yours.

Halo CE: Complete the Halo: CE LASO Campaign playlist.

As with any of the playlists dedicated to the Halo: CE Campaign, the LASO Campaign playlist will task players in completing all ten missions on the Legendary difficulty with all skulls on. Take note however that the developer has selected a preset number of skulls for this Campaign, so all the skull modifiers aren’t technically activated. It is also worth mentioning that this achievement can be earned in either Solo or Co-Op play.

What’s more, it’s important to remember that only scoring skulls will be activated. These generally reward players with higher score multipliers and bonuses to base enemy values (for Par Score achievements). Non-scoring skulls on the other hand are sometimes neutral, such as Grunt Birthday Party, or considered “cheat skulls” such as Bandana and Scarab Gun. Below, you can get a glimpse of all the skulls that will be activated in the Halo: CE LASO Campaign playlist.

  • Black Eye - Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies. Bash your way to better health!
  • Boom - Explosions have twice the damage radius. Light fuse, run away.
  • Fog - The motion tracker is disabled. You'll miss those eyes in the back of your head.
  • Eye Patch - Auto aim features disabled for all weapons. You'll miss it when it's gone.
  • Famine - Weapons dropped by AI have half the ammo they normally would. You might want to pack an extra magazine.
  • Foreign - Covenant weapons: How do they work? Players cannot pick up or use Covenant weapons.
  • Grunt Birthday Party – Grunt headshots lead to glorious celebrations.
  • Grunt Funeral - Grunts die in a blaze of glory. And plasma.
  • Iron - Death carries a heavy price. Dying in co-op resets you at your last saved checkpoint. Dying solo restarts the level.
  • Malfunction - Every time you respawn, a random element of your HUD is disabled.
  • Mythic - Enemies have increased health.
  • Recession - Every shot is worth twice the ammo. Save those bullets, playa.

As a few general tips, keep the following suggestions in mind when tackling this achievement. First, take combat slowly and try picking off enemies from afar with short controlled bursts. Since ammo costs twice as much, weapons will have less ammo upon pick-up, and you won’t be able to pick up Covenant weapons, you’ll need to utilize the firepower and magazine size of UNSC weapons such as the Magnum, Assault Rifle, Sniper, and Shotgun. Secondly, since your shields won’t recharge unless you melee an enemy, it may be smart to occasionally tackle weaker enemies such as Grunts head-on when necessary. Lastly, explosions are twice as large and Grunt corpses create secondary explosions on the battlefield so make use of grenades often when flushing out large groups of enemies in confined spaces.

With enough persistence and skill, the Halo: CE LASO Campaign playlist shouldn’t be too hard. As previously mentioned, the developer has picked and chose very specific skulls here, and it would appear that some of the harder skull modifiers, such as Iron, Blind, and Mythic, aren’t present here. Just take the missions slowly and once the tenth mission has been completed through this playlist, the achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Complete all Halo: CE Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.

As one of the four Legendary speed running achievements, this achievement will prove to be one of the most difficult tasks within the entire collection. It's worth noting that you may want to grab a Co-Op partner when working on this achievement for two reasons. One, the extra firepower will help put down enemies a little quicker. Secondly, one player can usually act as a decent distraction while the second player attempts to push on and run by as many enemies as possible in an attempt to grab the next checkpoint.

This essentially means that you may want to replay individual missions dozens of times in order to perfect your runs and learn new tactics in skipping various firefights. Unfortunately, a text-based guide would be too tedious in explaining every single mission within the game, so please refer to THIS LINK for an in-depth look at completing Halo: CE's Legendary Campaign in under three hours. A huge thanks goes out to Naked Eli for providing the video content.

As confirmed by Sun100, this achievement does not need to be attempted in one continuous run. Rather, the game will track your best time on each mission completed on the Legendary difficulty setting and add them up for a grand total. When a new "Personal Record" is set for that mission, it will override the previous tracked time. This essentially means that you can tackle a mission multiple times in an attempt to perfect your speed run.

NOTE: By following the speed running tactics provided in the video link above, you will almost certainly obtain the Par Time achievement for each of the Campaign's ten missions. This means that if you have yet to grab the Par Time achievements on the Easy or Normal difficulty setting, they can be stacked on the Legendary difficulty setting while working on this achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93753-lo.jpg Before and After 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Complete every level of the game having seen it in both classic and remastered mode.

For this achievement, all that it necessary in order to experience the game in both modes is to switch between Classic Mode and Remastered Mode once or twice for all ten missions within the Campaign. To do this, simple tap the view button on the controller and this will toggle between the two modes with nearly no delay whatsoever.

You may end up finding yourself naturally switching between modes as you explore the vast landscapes and structures of each mission. Thus, this achievement may come naturally without even thinking about it. Just keep in mind that you'll need to toggle the visuals once or twice per mission in order to make progress towards this achievement. Once all ten missions have been seen in both Classic Mode and Remastered Mode, this achievement will finally unlock.

Halo CE: Activate all Halo: CE Terminals.

In total, there are 10 terminals spread across each of the 10 missions within the Campaign that must be activated for this achievement. These terminal stations are well-hidden and usually off the main path of your objective, so it will take a keen eye and some exploration in order to track them down. You’ll know when you’ve found a terminal by the spotting a bright yellow hologram with a flashing panel. Simply approach the panel and hold the action button to activate it.

Take note that you do not necessarily need to watch the entire terminal because progress towards this achievement registers as soon as it’s activated. It is highly recommended to spend the two to three minutes in observing each terminal though. Once activated, they will provide crucial backstory to the Halo Universe. Also, take note that terminals will not appear while playing in Classic Mode. Once all 10 terminals have been activated, this achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Find and claim all Skulls in Halo: CE.

In total, there are 13 skulls scattered across each of the 10 missions in the Campaign that must be collected for this achievement. These skull collectibles are extremely well-hidden and come in the appearance of an actual human skull. At times, you will find that some are only obtainable for reaching obscure locations via grenade jumps and other advanced tactics. Needless to say, it will take a tremendous amount of exploring to locate these skulls.

These skulls are a unique collectible in that they act as significant gameplay modifiers. When activated via the Campaign Lobby Menu, skulls will alter the way the Campaign is played by either removing your HUD, granting infinite ammo and grenades, or even disabling the recharge ability of your shields unless you melee an enemy. With that said, these skulls are an awesome set of collectibles to hunt down. Take note however skulls will not appear while playing in Classic Mode. Once all 13 skulls have been collected, this achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Beat par time on all Halo: CE levels.

Before anything, make sure to turn on "Timing HUD" in the Campaign Lobby before starting a mission. In order to beat the Par Time on all ten missions with Halo: CE's Campaign, you will want to take three things into account.

First, play on the Easy difficulty setting so that enemies aren't as dangerous. Secondly, don't bother turning on any skull modifiers in the lobby. Lastly, utilizing the various speed running tactics as shown in Halo: CE's speed running achievement will help immensely in skipping certain firefights and finishing each mission in a considerably less amount of time as normal. With these tips in mind, you should have no problem completing each mission under Par Time.

You can use the checklist below for a reference on each mission’s Par Time:

  • Pillar of Autumn - 15:00 minutes
  • Halo – 20:00 minutes
  • Truth and Reconciliation – 20:00 minutes
  • Silent Cartographer – 15:00 minutes
  • Assault on the Control Room – 15:00 minutes
  • 343 Guilty Spark – 15:00 minutes
  • The Library – 25:00 minutes
  • Two Betrayals – 20:00 minutes
  • Keyes – 15:00 minutes
  • The Maw – 15:00 minutes

Overall, just remember to play on the lowest difficulty setting and try rushing past as many firefights when possible. Once you beat the Par Time for all ten missions, this achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Beat the par score on all Halo: CE levels.

Before anything, make sure to turn on "Scoring HUD" in the Campaign Lobby before starting a mission. In order to achieve the Par Score on all ten missions with Halo: CE's Campaign, you will want to take three things into account.

First, manually activate the Black Eye, Famine, Fog, Grunt Birthday Party, Famine, and Iron skulls in the lobby and set the difficulty to Heroic. Unfortunately, Par Scores cannot be obtained in Co-Op play, so just stick with a solo playthrough of each mission here.

Secondly, you will want to try completing the mission as quickly as possible (finishing under Par Time will give a x3 multiplier to your final score) while still killing everything on the battlefield via headshots and multikills; do not skip firefights or leave anyone alive. Lastly, if you do happen to run over Par Time, try picking up the pace as the time multiplier will begin to reduce significantly!

You can use the checklist below for a reference on each mission’s Par Score:

  • Pillar of Autumn - 17,000
  • Halo – 12,000
  • Truth and Reconciliation – 19,000
  • Silent Cartographer – 18,000
  • Assault on the Control Room – 18,000
  • 343 Guilty Spark – 17,000
  • The Library – 25,000
  • Two Betrayals – 16,000
  • Keyes – 18,000
  • The Maw – 18,000

Once you beat the Par Score for all ten missions, this achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Complete The Pillar of Autumn on Legendary without picking up a health kit.

The Pillar of Autumn is without a doubt one of the shortest missions within the entire Campaign. You’ll also come to realize that given the nature of the Autumn’s design structure, it’s also the most confined mission in terms of navigable space for firefights. With that said, you’ll need to proceed through the entire mission very carefully in order to avoid taking any health damage.

On the bright side, overshields will only ever be located inside the Covenant drop pods. This means that so long as you do not purposely step inside an enemy pod and deliberately pick up an overshield, you’ll have no issues obtaining the first achievement. As for not picking up health kits, you’ll want to utilize grenades as often as possible when taking on groups of Covenant enemies inside the Autumn in order to avoid direct confrontations and thus taking health damage. Since the corridors here are tight, a single grenade can usually flush out an entire room or hallway of enemies with ease.

To maximize the effectiveness of grenades on this mission, it would be wise to activate the Bandana skull in the Campaign lobby as this provides unlimited ammo and grenades. Another strategy is to tackle the mission cooperatively with another player. This second method is great since your partner can go forth and clear out all the enemies while you stay behind and avoid any and all crossfire between your partner and the Covenant. Either way, if you complete the mission without picking up a single health kit or overshield, both achievements will unlock after the concluding cutscene.

Halo CE: Destroy three of the four Banshees on Halo during a single play-through.

During the second mission, Halo, there are a total of four Covenant Banshees that can be found soaring high in the air. The first two will attack you immediately after crossing the long bridge-like structure in the beginning of the mission. Unfortunately, destroying one Banshee will usually cause the second to flee. If you want to try destroying both Banshees here, shoot each of them with the Assault Rifle until their wings are smoking, then use the Magnum to finish off each Banshee quickly.

The second pair of Banshees will attack you much later on after saving the first life pod of Marines and traveling across the open canyon. The Banshees here will not flee at all, so use any weapon you currently have to make short work of them. After three Banshees have been destroyed in this mission, the achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Complete Halo without entering a vehicle.

This mission will prove to be extremely tedious without using the Warthog provided after the first major firefight with Marine allies. Fortunately, the vehicle’s firepower isn’t necessary and it’s not even that useful for the later firefights, so traveling on foot shouldn’t be too bad.

The only difficult aspect of this achievement is the large gap inside the first tunnel of the cave-like structure. The way to cross this massive gap without the usage of a vehicle is to utilize a grenade jump. As such, you’ll need a frag grenade or plasma grenade at this point in order to advance through the mission. When you reach this gap, simply toss the grenade on the ledge, take a few steps back, and then time your forward jump so that the grenade explodes as you leave the ground, thus propelling your forward over to the other ramp.

If you’re playing cooperatively, only one person has to perform the grenade jump. The second player can be killed via friendly fire, which results in their spawn on the opposite side of the gap. Overall, once your rescue all three groups of Marines and are picked up via Pelican, the achievement will unlock after the concluding cutscene.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93981-lo.jpg Close Quarters Combat 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Complete The Truth and Reconciliation with at least four rounds left in your Sniper Rifle.

At the start of this mission, you are automatically equipped with a Sniper Rifle that holds about forty-eight rounds. Fortunately, the first half of the mission takes place outdoors and this is the only time the Sniper Rifle will be useful. Once you’re inside the Truth and Reconciliation, the Sniper is rendered useless which means forty-eight rounds should be just enough for the outdoor portion of the mission.

Overall, when using the Sniper Rifle, be sure to pick your shots wisely. Headshots will be key in killing Grunts, Jackals and Elites from afar. When engaged in close-quarter combat, utilize grenades, melee attacks and any other secondary weapon so that Sniper Rifle ammo is not mindlessly used.

Playing this mission cooperatively may also be a good strategy for this achievement, as it cuts the workload of one player having to use their Sniper Rifle during the first half of the mission. So long as there are at least four rounds left in the aforementioned weapon before climbing aboard the Covenant dropship with Captain Keyes, the achievement will unlock.

Note: Activating the Bandana skull for this mission results in obtaining infinite ammo for any weapon you pick up or have equipped. With that said, you can activate this skull in the Campaign lobby and just carry the Sniper Rifle all the way through the mission for this achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93984-lo.jpg All According to Plan... 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Kill the first group of enemies on The Truth and Reconciliation without being detected.

As soon as the mission begins, head to your right near the cliffside edge and station yourself in between the “U” shaped rocks. Here, you can avoid being detected given the distance between yourself and the enemy.

Now you will want to pick off all the roaming Grunts, the two Jackals, and the single Elite (sometimes there are two) from this position. Once these enemies have been dealt with and you cannot see any other Covenant forces, inch your way up the cliffside path to your right and peek towards the left. Here, you will spot a single Grunt manning a Shade turret so be ready to kill him.

At this point, slowly scan the valley below and make sure there aren’t any red blips on your motion tracker. If you’ve successfully killed the initial group of enemies stationed in this valley without being spotted, a music cue will begin, your Marines will disperse into the valley, and the achievement will unlock.

Note: At no point should you ever drop down from the cliffside edge. If you do, the Marines are scripted to move into the valley and they will blow your cover. If this happens for any reason, simply restart the mission.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93985-lo.jpg Beachhead 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Storm The Silent Cartographer beach with no Marine casualties on Heroic or Legendary.

As soon as this mission begins, two Pelicans will land on the beach, dropping off two groups of Marine allies. Here, you will have to clear the entire beachhead without any allies dying. Unfortunately, there are several Grunts, Jackals and Elites stationed directly ahead defending the beach, so you’ll need to act quickly since the Marines tend to rush forward and take a lot of damage from the Covenant forces. There’s also a group of three to four Grunts hiding behind a rock formation to the left of the drop-off point. As if that weren’t enough, after clearing the initial wave of enemies, two more Elites and a trio of Jackals will ambush you as you move further down the beachhead.

With all this said, the Magnum and Frag grenades will prove to be extremely beneficial here. As soon you gain control of the Master Chief, quickly pick off the three to four Grunts on the left and then start lobbing grenades towards the Covenant forces on the right. Activating the Bandana and Boom skulls will help here as they grant infinite grenades and double the blast radius of all explosions.

Note that if you move quickly and get in front of your Marines, you should be able to flush out the enemies along the beachhead before any of your allies take a single hit. Once the beachhead is secured and the Warthog is delivered, the achievement will unlock.

Halo CE: Finish The Silent Cartographer without shooting, grenades, melee, dying or restarting.

Although this achievement sounds intimidating, this ten minute mission can easily be completed under such constraints when playing on the Easy difficultly setting. Take note that it has been reported to not unlock during Co-Op play, so it's best to perform it on your own.

As soon as the mission starts, turn to your left and head down the beach until you reach the overturned Warthog. From here, proceed up the hill to your right, leading you deeper into the island and eventually into the security room of an underground complex. After disengaging the control room's security mechanism, exit the complex, grab the overshield on the ground to your right, and drop down the cliff onto the beach. Hope inside the nearby Warthog and drive back to the map room's entrance.

Once there, you'll need to reach the bottom level of the facility and activate the cartographer before you're demanded to return topside. When you finally reach the top floor, push past the Elite wielding the Energy Sword, Hunter duo, and Stealth Elites. Now wait until the Pelican lands on the platform and when it does, get inside and the mission will end. If you managed to survive the mission without shooting, using grenades, melee attacking, dying, or restarting, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93980-lo.jpg Wraith Hunter 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Destroy four Wraith tanks in Assault on the Control Room with the Scorpion tank.

In total, there are exactly four Covenant Wraiths within this mission that must be destroyed via the Scorpion Tank for this achievement. Once you reach the ground level of the canyon and travel outside, you’ll spot an overturned Warthog and a squad of Marines taking mortar fire from a Wraith on the other side of the valley. At this point, get inside the Warthog, drive down the valley past the Wraith, and into the next valley where you’ll find a Scorpion Tank.

Once you jump inside the Scorpion, the Wraith from before will be creeping up behind you, so turn the turret and destroy the Covenant vehicle. Now proceed forward into the next valley and destroy the second Wraith here. You’ll also have to destroy the third Wraith that’s stationed above the tunnel entrance. Once you travel through the underground tunnel and emerge into another snowy valley, proceed past the spire and you’ll spot the fourth and final Wraith accompanied by a pair of Hunters. After destroying this last Wraith, the achievement will unlock.

NOTE: Wraith kills cannot be shared when playing cooperatively, meaning only one player can get this achievement.

Halo CE: Complete The Library on Heroic or Legendary difficulty without dying.

While this achievement seems tough, it’s actually quite simple so long as you choose effective weaponry to use against the Flood and avoid the Carrier Forms at all costs. As a recommendation, try to pick up a Shotgun and Needler during the first few firefights. The former weapon is perfect for taking on the Flood in close-quarters while the latter is useful when at a ranged distance. In addition to this, if the Bandana skull is activated for this mission, the unlimited ammo and grenades will prove to be extremely beneficial.

Progress through the level and make sure to avoid the Carrier Forms. Once they get close, they will fall onto the ground and explode. These explosions will often time kill you if your shields or health are low. Other than that, there are also two instances where Combat Forms are wielding Rocket Launchers, so be careful not to be caught in their line of fire. Once the final cutscene concludes, the achievement will unlock providing you did not die at all during the mission.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93738-lo.jpg Look Out for the Little Guys 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Complete Two Betrayals on Legendary difficulty without killing any Grunts.

During this mission, there will be a fair amount of Grunts that will get in your way when attempting to reach your three main objectives. Since the Flood and the Covenant will be frequently fighting during the mission, try to sit back and wait out the firefight. The Flood will almost always kill the Covenant, thus reducing the amount of work necessary in trying to slip by enemy Grunts without killing them. In addition to this, the majority of the Grunts only appear during the first half of this mission.

If you are playing with a Co-Op partner, you can always try staying back and having your partner clear the rooms and areas with Grunts before moving forward towards the objectives. This makes things a little easier, though you will have to replay the mission twice for both players to unlock the achievement. Once the final pulse generator has been disabled, the achievement will unlock providing you haven’t killed a single Grunt.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93739-lo.jpg Leave It Where It Lay 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Complete Two Betrayals on Legendary difficulty without picking up a new weapon.

At the start of this mission, you will be equipped with a Plasma Pistol and Shotgun. In order to obtain this achievement, you cannot switch out either weapon at any point in the mission. Fortunately, these weapons are rather useful against the both the Covenant and the Flood, and since both factions will often time battle one another, this reduces the ammo you need to expend on the enemy.

Attempting this achievement with a Co-Op partner is recommended as one player can swap out their starting weapons for more something more effective like a Rocket Launcher or Needler. In addition to this, if one player dies, they will respawn with an Assault Rifle, though this does not void the achievement. Once the final pulse generator has been disabled, the achievement will unlock providing you haven’t swapped out either of your weapons during the mission.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93740-lo.jpg Tying Up Loose Ends 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Kill every Elite on the level Keyes on Heroic or Legendary difficulty.

As one of the most tedious mission-specific achievements in the game, you’ll need to kill every single Elite on this mission before the achievement unlocks. The worst part about this task is that the achievement only unlocks after climbing inside the Covenant Banshee, so there’s no way of knowing if all Elites have been killed prior to finishing the mission.

The good news here is that for the first half of the mission, the Flood and the Covenant are fighting quite frequently, meaning most of the Elites will die by the hand of the parasite. Once you return to the ship via a gravity lift and find the Proto-Gravemind however, all the remaining Elites in the mission – about twenty plus – will be Spec-Op units. As you make your way from your current position to the hanger bay, make sure to inspect every single nook and cranny inside all the hallways. There are three floors total with many hallways so take it slowly and don’t leave any room untouched. Once you’re confident all the Elites in the hanger bay corridors have been killed, climb inside the Banshee and the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93982-lo.jpg This Side Up 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Complete the Warthog ride of The Maw without being forcibly ejected from your vehicle.

Once you destroy the four reactors inside the engineering bay and take the elevator up to vehicle station, grab the first Warthog on your right. From here, you’ll need to escape the Autumn without ever flipping over your Warthog or being forcibly ejected from your seat. This achievement is actually very easy so long as you are a competent vehicle driver. Also, it's worth mentioning that if you do flip your vehicle at any point and are forcibly ejected from the seat, you can always restart your checkpoint as it will not void the achievement.

Each of the four hangers you drive through will have a different layout, meaning you’ll need to adapt quickly as you drive past the explosions and firefights between Covenant and Flood. For the first hanger, driving straight down the middle is the safest route. Once you reach the second and third hanger bays, stick to the ramps on either side since the middle path will be blocked. In the final hanger, you’ll have to slalom around the pillars on the middle path, which can prove to be a little tedious and dangerous.

After this fourth hanger, the ride should be a little smoother until Cortana warns you of a large jump ahead. The best strategy in tackling this jump is to line up the Warthog evenly with the ramp and floor it, then ease up on the acceleration when you’re mid-flight. This will prevent your vehicle from tipping forward, thus ensuring you’re not ejected from your seat when you land. After the jump, you’ll eventually need to exit the Warthog and sprint down the runway and past some Flood in order to reach the Longsword. If you managed to stay planted inside the Warthog during the entire ride, the achievement will unlock once you get inside the Longsword.

Halo CE: It's a sign.

This Easter Egg can be found in the mission, The Pillar of Autumn.

The hidden “sign” in this mission is a bloody heart made of bullet holes in the shape of an “M” that can only be discovered under a series of nearly impossible feats. This Egg was created by the original lead designer of the game as a gift for his girlfriend whose name was Meg. Be sure to follow the guidelines listed below in order to reach this hidden Egg.

  • Start The Pillar of Autumn on the Legendary difficulty (you must be playing alone)
  • After you gain control of the Master Chief, walk toward the canisters behind you
  • Crouch jump on top the yellow canister and then jump off
  • Move through the level as normal until you get to the bridge of the Autumn
  • Trigger the cinematic by walking towards Captain Keyes
  • Once he hands you the Magnum, go through the exit and kill the three Grunts
  • Head back into the bridge and kill Captain Keyes
  • This will trigger a squad of "Invincible Marines" out of the previously locked door that was on the right side of the bridge’s exit
  • As Cortana finishes saying, "John-117 has gone rampant," a second door (right behind the first locked door) unlocks
  • Wait until the marines crowd one side of the bridge
  • Run past them and into the previously locked door

Once you enter this second room, walk through the entire hallway. At the end of the room, look up towards the ceiling and shine your flashlight in Classic Mode. You will see the “M” shot into the ceiling and the achievement will then unlock.

Private First Class Chips Dubbo is an Australian Marine that serves with the UNSC during the events of the Halo games. You can usually spot him within a firefight due to his thick Australian accent and witty remarks. With that said, this achievement is actually quite simple as there doesn't seem to be a definitive location of where Chip Dubbo is. Rather, the achievement tends to unlock almost every single time upon running towards the bridge in The Pillar of Autumn, escaping via the life pod in The Pillar of Autumn, reaching the first group of Marines in Halo, or during the hanger bay fight in The Truth and Reconciliation. Overall, this achievement will more than likely come naturally to players during their time on the Campaign, so don't worry about needing to do anything special in order to find Chips or trigger a special line of dialogue.

Halo CE: Trigger a hidden music cue in Halo: CE.

This Easter Egg can be found in the mission, Assault on the Control Room.

The hidden music cue in this game is none other than Siege of Madrigal, a song that original Halo developer Bungie used in one of their previous video games. When standing in a specific spot on the aforementioned mission, you will be able to hear the faint melody to the song. Be sure to follow the guidelines listed below, since it’s a slightly complicated process to trigger the hidden music cue.

  • The music cue can be found on the pyramid structure at the end of the level
  • There are three brackets on the large tower above the control room entrance
  • You will need to land on the second one with a Banshee
  • A Banshee can be stolen on the snowy bridge during the middle of this mission
  • Once you have landed on the bracket, face the cliff and go to the right side of the bracket
  • There should be a part of the bracket that points towards the cliff, then slopes down steeply
  • From the flat part of the bracket, move towards the steeply sloped portion slowly
  • You will eventually hear the song

Once you have successfully reached the required spot, Siege of Madrigal will be triggered and the achievement will unlock.

As soon as this mission begins and you gain control of the Master Chief, turn around and head towards the nose of the Pelican dropship. From here, use the small rock in front of the ship and jump onto the cockpit. As the Pelican begins to ascend, you’ll want to walk forward and stay on for as long as possible before you’re automatically forced off the Pelican. After a few seconds of staying on top of the dropship, the achievement will unlock.

This Easter Egg can be found in the mission, Keyes.

During this mission, continue as you would normally towards your primary objective until you re-enter the Truth and Reconciliation via an energy lift. Once back on board the Covenant ship, you’ll need to make you way towards the command center. Here, you’ll find Captain Keyes in an unfortunate state: assimilated by the Proto-Gravemind.

After the Master Chief retrieves the Captain’s neural implants via a cutscene and fends off against the waves of Flood and Covenant Spec Ops units, search the floor of the command center’s console platform where the Proto-Gravemind’s tentacles are scattered about. You will eventually spot one of the overhanging tentacles holding the Captain’s infamous tobacco pipe. Simply stare at the pipe for a few seconds and this achievement will unlock.

During the Warthog escape sequence at the end of this mission, you will eventually reach an outdoor bridge where Foe Hammer is meant to pick you up. After your pilot is shot down by Covenant Banshees, continue driving your Warthog through the tunnel just ahead. After descending a small hill inside this tunnel, there will be a narrow passageway on the right side. Drive the vehicle through this small tunnel and there will be yet another open passageway on your right.

At the end of this second tunnel, there will be a lonely Grunt standing around a few dead Flood bodies. Get out of the Warthog and approach the Grunt. After a few seconds he will repeat the following line of dialogue, “Good thing that Food Nipple's waiting for me at the starship 'cause man, whew, have I worked up a big, grunty thirst!” After the Grunt finishes his line of dialogue, the achievement will unlock.

During the Warthog escape sequence at the end of this mission, Cortana will eventually warn you of a large gap in the runaway. At this point, floor it off the ramp and veer the Warthog off to the right or left so that you land on one of the sides of the platform below. From here, you can jump to the top of the tunnel where you would have originally landed if you nailed the Warthog jump; you’ll see a flaming canister in this location. Simply walk into the open corridor next this canister and inside you will see the name “Rex” spelled out in blood along the wall. The achievement will unlock as soon as you step foot in this corridor.

Halo CE: Complete a level without jumping.

The second mission, Halo, is most likely the best mission to attempt this achievement given the fact that it's not too long and most of this mission will take place driving a Warthog. Unlike the other Campaign missions, which take place inside structures (The Pillar of Autumn, The Truth and Reconciliation, The Maw, etc.) that require jumping in order to reach objectives and bypass firefights, such possibilities will not occur on Halo.

On this mission, you’ll want to utilize a mix of both grenades and your Assault Rifle/Magnun when taking on groups of Covenant enemies. Since most of the areas where the Marines are located have tight rooms or rocks formations, a few well-placed grenades can usually flush out an entire batch of enemies as they are exiting their dropship. As a note, it may be wise to activate the Bandana and Boom skulls for their beneficial effects of infinite ammo/grenades and increased explosive blasts. If you are successful in completing the mission without jumping whatsoever, the achievement will unlock after the concluding cutscene.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93756-lo.jpg He's Unstoppable 10:gsicon:

Halo CE: Complete any level on Heroic difficulty or higher without taking health damage.

The Pillar of Autumn is without a doubt one of the best missions to attempt this achievement given the fact that it’s the shortest mission within the entire Campaign. You’ll also come to realize that given the nature of the Autumn’s design structure, it’s also the most confined mission in terms of navigable space for firefights. This provides for an excellent tactic in flushing out rooms with grenades if the Bandana, Boom, or Grunt Funeral skulls are activated.

As such, make sure to utilize grenades as often as possible when taking on groups of Covenant enemies inside the Autumn in order to avoid direct confrontations and thus taking health damage. Since the corridors here are tight, a single grenade can usually flush out an entire room or hallway of enemies with ease. Just make sure to stay back when tossing the grenades if Boom or Grunt Funeral have been activated.

An alternative strategy for this achievement is to tackle the mission cooperatively with another player. This method is great since your partner can go forth and clear out all the enemies, while you stay behind and avoid any and all crossfire between your partner and the Covenant. If you are successful in completing the mission without taking any health damage whatsoever, the achievement will unlock after the concluding cutscene.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93744-lo.jpg You Are The Weapon 5:gsicon:

Halo CE: Kill a Hunter with one pistol round.

Though this achievement can be completed on any mission that houses a duo of Hunters, The Silent Cartographer is probably the best mission to attempt this achievement. On this mission, once you are required to head on over to the security control room, you will fight a decent amount of Covenant troops while ascending a grassy hill. After this firefight, you’ll find yourself in an open valley where this mission’s terminal is located. Here, you’ll also find a nasty pair of Hunters ready to attack.

Since you begin this mission with a Magnum by default, it is important that you kept it up to this point. When facing off against the Hunters, you’ll need to position yourself a few feet directly ahead of the creature. At this point, the Hunter will lunge forward and charge at you. When they do this, you’ll need to sidestep to the left or right in order to dodge the assault. Quickly turn around and aim your Magnum at the patch of exposed, orange flesh on the Hunter’s back. With a single Magnum shot at this weak spot, the Hunter will immediately topple of to his death, thus unlocking the achievement.

Halo CE: Play a CTF custom game on Blood Gulch with 4 players on the same console. Tri-tip optional.

Before you can attempt this achievement, you must have a total of four Xbox One controllers on hand. Once you have this number of controllers, go ahead and boot up a Custom Game under Halo: Combat Evolved.

In the map select option, you will want to choose Blood Gulch and then set the game type of Capture the Flag or Capture the Flag Classic. Before launching the game, power up the three extra controllers and sign them all into guest accounts. Now you can start up the match and as soon as it begins, this achievement will immediately unlock without any issue.

Halo 2: Complete every level of the game on Legendary difficulty.

This achievement will unlock once all thirteen missions of the Halo 2 Campaign have been successfully completed on either a Solo Legendary playthrough or Cooperative Legendary playthrough. There are multiple methods in tackling the missions of the Campaign, but keep these general tips in mind when playing:

  • Utilize the Noob-Combo (Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle) at all times when facing Elites; an overcharged Plasma Pistol shot will drain their shields, and a three-round burst to the skull will down the creatures easily
  • Utilize ground vehicles – Warthogs, Scorpions, and Ghosts – as frequently as possible; their firepower in missions such as Metropolis, Delta Halo, and The Great Journey will help clear out areas quickly and you can even drive past enemy encounters if the mission allows for it
  • When facing Hunters, get close enough so that they charge at you, allowing time to side step their attack; when the orange flesh on their back is exposed, shoot it, as this is their only weak spot
  • When squaring off against the Flood, keep a Shotgun or Energy Sword on hand; these are by far the best weapons to use against the parasite
  • Don’t neglect the basics of using cover; when your shields drop down, hide behind a wall or crouch behind an object before charging back out into battle
  • Try exploring the levels and finding alternate routes behind or around the enemies; this can help save time by skipping major firefights on levels such as Outskirts, Delta Halo, and Regret.

Overall, because seasoned Halo players will be familiar with both level design and enemy behavior, completing the entire Campaign on Legendary will be quite easy, though a very demanding task. Once all the missions in Halo 2 have been completed on the Legendary difficulty setting, this achievement will be yours.

Halo 2: Complete a Halo 2 playlist.

Please refer to Connoisseusr for more information.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93843-lo.jpg Connoisseur 20:gsicon:

Halo 2: Complete three Halo 2 playlists.

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Campaign playlists make their debut as a means of experiencing a particular set missions that all share a common thread. Hand-crafted by the developer, some of these playlists are unique, such as all the Arbiter-realted missions or all Boss-related missions within the Campaign.

In Halo 2: Anniversary, the shortest playlists - which also prove to be quite enjoyable - are the following:

  • Arbiter's Journey - The Heretic, The Arbiter, The Oracle, Sacred Icon, Quarantine Zone, Uprising, The Great Journey
  • Fan Favorites - Outskirts, Metropolis, Delta Halo, The Great Journey
  • Boss Fights - The Oracle, Regret, The Great Journey

Just pick and choose whichever three Campaign playlists you'd like to work on and once they have all been successfully completed, this achievement will be yours.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/3075/93864-lo.jpg Back for More 30:gsicon:

Halo 2: Complete the LASO campaign playlist.

As with any of the playlists dedicated to the Halo 2 Campaign, the LASO Campaign playlist will task players in completing all nine missions on the Legendary difficulty with all skulls on. Take note however that the developer has selected a preset number of skulls for this Campaign, so all the skull modifiers aren’t technically activated. With that said, this achievement can be earned in either Solo or Co-Op play.

Below, you can get a glimpse of all the skulls that will be activated in the Halo 2 LASO Campaign playlist.

  • Anger - Enemies fire their weapons faster and more frequently.
  • Assassins - All enemies in the game are permanently cloaked.
  • Black Eye - Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies. Bash your way to better health!
  • Blind - HUD and weapon do not display onscreen.
  • Catch – Enemies throw and drop more grenades.
  • Famine - Weapons dropped by AI have half the ammo they normally would. You might want to pack an extra magazine.
  • Ghost - AI no longer flinch from attacks.
  • Grunt Birthday Party - Grunt headshots lead to glorious celebrations.
  • Iron - Death carries a heavy price. Dying in co-op resets you at your last saved checkpoint. Dying solo restarts the level.
  • IWHBYD - Rare combat dialogue becomes more common.
  • Mythic - Enemies have increased health.
  • Sputnik - Mass of objects is decreased, making them more easily displaced.
  • That’s Just…Wrong - Increases enemy awareness of player.
  • Thunderstorm - Upgrades the rank of most enemies.

As you can see, Halo 2’s LASO Campaign playlist has the most skulls activated, some of which are unique and will prove to be much more difficult than the other Campaigns. As a few general tips, keep the following suggestions in mind when tackling this achievement.

First, take combat slowly and try picking off enemies from afar with medium-ranged weapons like the Battle Rifle or Covenant Carbine. Even though enemies will be permanently cloaked, they will be throwing grenades and firing their weapons more frequently. This essentially gives away their position on the battlefield. Also, your HUD and weapon will not appear on screen, so it may take some time in getting used to the “blinded” touch.

Moreover, since deaths will revert your progress to the mission-start, it’s highly recommended to attempt this achievement in Co-Op play. Lastly, enemies are going to be even more agile and aware of your presence in firefights but don’t be hesitant in engaging in close-quarters combat, especially since the effects of Black Eye will greatly effect your shields.

Overall, with enough persistence and skill, the Halo 2 LASO Campaign playlist can be done, though it will take a considerable amount of dedicated time. Once the thirteenth mission has been completed through this playlist, the achievement will unlock.

Halo 2: Complete all Halo 2 Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.

Just remember that when playing Halo 2 on Co-Op Legendary, the death of one player will revert your progress to the most recent checkpoint.

This essentially means that you may want to replay individual missions dozens of times in order to perfect your runs and learn new tactics in skipping various firefights. Unfortunately, a text-based guide would be too tedious in explaining every single mission within the game, so please refer to THIS LINK for an in-depth look at completing Halo 2's Legendary Campaign in under three hours.

NOTE: By following the speed running tactics provided in the video above, you will almost certainly obtain the Par Time achievement for each of the Campaign's thirteen missions. This means that if you have yet to grab the Par Time achievements on the Easy or Normal difficulty setting, they can be stacked on the Legendary difficulty setting while working on this achievement.

Halo 2: Complete every level of Halo 2 having seen it in both classic and remastered mode.

For this achievement, all that it necessary in order to experience the game in both modes is to switch between Classic Mode and Remastered Mode once or twice for all thirteen missions within the Campaign. To do this, simple tap the view button on the controller and this will toggle between the two modes with nearly no delay whatsoever.

You may end up finding yourself naturally switching between modes as you explore the vast landscapes and structures of each mission. Thus this achievement may come naturally without even thinking about it. Overall, just keep in mind that you'll need to toggle the visuals once or twice per mission in order to make progress towards this achievement. Once all thirteen missions have been seen in both Classic Mode and Remastered Mode, this achievement will finally unlock.

Halo 2: Activate all Halo 2 Terminals.

In total, there are 13 terminals spread across each of the 13 missions within the Campaign that must be activated for this achievement.

Once all 13 terminals have been activated, this achievement will unlock.

In total, there are 15 skulls scattered across each of the 13 missions in the Campaign that must be collected for this achievement. At times, you will find that some are only obtainable for reaching obscure locations via grenade jumps and other advanced tactics. Needless to say, it will take a tremendous amount of exploring to locate these skulls.

These skulls are a unique collectible in that they act as significant gameplay modifiers. When activated via the Campaign Lobby Menu, skulls will alter the way the Campaign is played by either removing your HUD, permanently cloaking enemies, or even disabling the recharge ability of your shields unless you melee an enemy. With that said, these skulls are an awesome set of collectibles to hunt down. Take note however skulls will not appear while playing in Classic Mode. Once all 15 skulls have been collected, this achievement will unlock.

Halo 2: Beat par time on all Halo 2 levels.

Before anything, make sure to turn on "Timing HUD" in the Campaign Lobby before starting a mission. In order to beat the Par Time on all thirteen missions with Halo 2's Campaign, you will want to take three things into account.

First, play on the Easy difficulty setting so that enemies aren't as aggressive in combat. Secondly, don't bother turning on any skull modifiers in the lobby. Lastly, utilizing the various speed running tactics as shown in Halo 2's speed running achievement will help immensely in skipping certain firefights and finishing each mission in a considerably less amount of time as normal. With these tips in mind, you should have no problem completing each mission under Par Time.

You can use the checklist below for a reference on each mission’s Par Time:

  • Cairo Station - 15:00 minutes
  • Outskirts – 15:00 minutes
  • Metropolis – 15:00 minutes
  • The Arbiter – 15:00 minutes
  • The Oracle – 25:00 minutes
  • Delta Halo – 15:00 minutes
  • Regret – 15:00 minutes
  • Sacred Icon – 15:00 minutes
  • Quarantine Zone – 15:00 minutes
  • Gravemind – 20:00 minutes
  • Uprising – 15:00 minutes
  • High Charity – 15:00 minutes
  • The Great Journey – 15:00 minutes

Overall, just remember to play on the lowest difficulty setting and try rushing past as many firefights when possible. Once you beat the Par Time for all thirteen missions, this achievement will unlock.

Halo 2: Beat the par score on every Halo 2 level.

Before anything, make sure to turn on "Scoring HUD" in the Campaign Lobby before starting a mission. In order to achieve the Par Score on all ten missions with Halo 2's Campaign, you will want to take three things into account.

First, manually activate the Anger, Famine, Fog, Grunt Birthday Party, Sputnik, and Thunderstorm skulls in the lobby and set the difficulty to Heroic. You will definitely want to activate the Jacked skull on any mission that DOES NOT contain ground vehicles; this includes Cairo Station, The Arbiter, The Oracle, Regret, Sacred Icon, Gravemind, and High Charity. Activating this skull adds an additional 1.20x multiplier and since these missions do not have ground vehicles, it's essential a "free" multiplier since the skull's effects are nonexistent.

  • Cairo Station - 14,000
  • Outskirts – 8,000
  • Metropolis – 9,000
  • The Arbiter – 7,000
  • The Oracle – 16,000
  • Delta Halo – 10,000
  • Regret – 8,000
  • Sacred Icon – 7,000
  • Quarantine Zone – 7,000
  • Gravemind – 11,000
  • Uprising – 9,000
  • High Charity – 9,000
  • The Great Journey – 8,000

Once you beat the Par Score for all thirteen missions, this achievement will unlock.

NOTE: Be sure to utilize THIS LINK if you need further assistance with obtaining the Par Score achievements for Halo 2 or any of the three other games. Be sure to sift through the various informative posts to garner a better understanding of which specific skull sets to use on specific missions of each Campaign, especially Halo 2.

Halo 2: Stick a Plasma Grenade to a Stealth Elite on Outskirts.

Before anything, make sure you load up the corresponding mission on the Legendary difficulty. As soon as the mission begins, continue through via the rooftops as if you were attempting to trigger the IWHBYD skull. Once you reach the bridge where a Pelican drops off a squad of Marines, go ahead and pick off the two Jackals that ambush your allies. Remember to stay on the rooftops when killing the Jackals so that you grab the second checkpoint. When the Pelican leaves and you receive the third checkpoint, go ahead and drop down into the alley where the Jackals were. Here, you can pick up Plasma Grenades from their corpses.

After you have a few grenades, make your way back to the rooftops and continue along the buildings, grabbing the next two sets of checkpoints. Once you’re near the balcony where the IWHBYD skull spawns, go ahead and scout the alleys around this area and you’ll be sure to find a Stealth Elite (his position is given away by an Energy Sword or Plasma Rifle). Since you’re positioned on the rooftops, he won’t see you, thus making the grenade stick a simple task. Once you’ve successfully stuck the Stealth Elite with the Plasma Grenade, the achievement will unlock.

Halo 2: Complete Metropolis without entering a vehicle on Heroic or Legendary.

As soon as this mission begins, you will immediately be made aware that this is predominantly a vehicle-emphasized mission given the outdoor landscape and number of Covenant vehicles along the bridge towards the main objective. Don’t let this intimidate you, for completing the mission on foot, though tedious, is entirely doable, especially if you are playing cooperatively with another player.

Right from the start then, ignore the Warthog and the Scorpion Tank. You’ll need to make your way down the entirety of the bridge killing Covenant troops and vehicles with whatever weapons you have at your disposal. Once you reach the tunnel at the end of the bridge, continue your way towards the main objective, past the blockade and through the detour tunnel. After emerging from the tunnel, continue past this open valley until your reach the city streets. All that is required at this point is to destroy a number of Wraiths and rendezvous with the Marines stationed in the building ahead. Once you pass through the building and board the Covenant Scarab, the mission will end shortly after once the controls to the Scarab have been destroyed.

As mentioned earlier, this achievement is better suited with cooperative partners as they can utilize the firepower of both UNSC and Covenant vehicles to kill enemy troops while you stay back on foot. All in all, if you managed to avoid using any vehicles throughout this mission, the achievement will unlock after the concluding cutscene.

NOTE: The utilization of the following skulls may help tremendously for this achievement: Scarab, Bandana, Envy, and Sputnik.

Halo 2: Fly the Heretic Banshee.

This achievement is story-related (The Arbiter) and cannot be missed.

Halo 2: In The Oracle, find the holo-drone before the Heretic Leader activates it.

Holo-Drones are small Covenant devices that provide holographic duplicate decoys of important personnel. Physically, they resemble inactive Plasma grenades in size and shape. On the aforementioned mission then, the Heretic Leader uses two Holo-Drones in the final fight against the Arbiter. Earlier in this mission however, you can find a single Holo-Drone.

As soon as the mission begins, walk through the initial room and past the corridor where Flood are fighting beneath the glass floor. In the next room, stick to the right walkway and jump on the closest pillar, then on the pillar closest to the glass tube. From here, destroy the tube with your weapon and then crouch jump onto the center structure. Once here, turn around and crouch jump onto the ledge above your current position. From up here, you will see two holes in the corner of the wall. Get as close to the right hole as possible and perform a grenade jump. Once inside this cubbyhole, you will find the Holo-Drone floating in the air and the achievement will unlock.

Halo 2: Complete Delta Halo without entering a vehicle on Heroic or Legendary.

As you progress past the initial firefights of this mission, you will immediately be made aware that this is predominantly a vehicle-emphasized mission given the outdoor landscape, Scorpion Tank reinforcement, and the number of Covenant vehicles along the path towards the main objective. Don’t let this intimidate you, for completing the mission on foot, though tedious, is entirely doable, especially if you are playing cooperatively with another player.

With that said, once you have activated the bridge to cross the gorge, ignore the Scorpion Tank that is delivered and make your way past the Covenant Wraith and Ghosts into the winding corridors of the structure ahead. Throughout this section of the mission, there will be a number of Ghosts harassing your movements, though you should have no problem picking off the Elite drivers with the Battle Rifle or Plasma Grenades. Overall, after a number of firefights along the path to the main objective, including a large battle against Hunters and Sniper Jackals towards the end of the mission, simply descend the ramp that leads to a small tempe-like structure. Once inside, defeat the Elite Honor Guards and the mission will end as you approach the hologram in the center of the room.

Halo 2: Complete the level Regret with the Prophet Birthday Skull activated.

The Prophet Birthday Skull is a new skull modifier introduced in Halo 2: Anniversary which causes each and every smack on the Prophet of Regret’s face to be accompanied by Steve Vai guitar riffs and flamboyant lightening bolts.

As such, all you have to do is activate this skull in the Campaign lobby and then load up the aforementioned mission on any difficulty setting. Once you reach Regret’s temple towards the end of the mission, continue as you normally would in defeating the Prophet of Regret and the achievement will unlock after he has been defeated.

Halo 2: Drive a Scorpion while playing as the Arbiter.

This achievement can be obtained fairly early on during the “Quarantine Zone” mission. As soon as the introductory cutscene concludes, hop inside the Specter and be prepared to destroy the Enforcer and Sentinels that ambush your position. After dealing with them, head through the open doorway on the cliffside wall and descend the ramp that leads further into the underground structure.

If you stick to the right side of this room, continue driving your vehicle until you’re required to descend a small ramp that leads to a lower platform. Down here, tucked away in the back right corner, you will find a Flood-controlled Scorpion Tank. Simply exit your Specter and approach the Tank carefully in order to hijack the UNSC vehicle and thus, unlock the achievement.
