Recommended to keep a separate save for co-op?

I've read a lot of stuff on the forums on glitchy coop achievements.

I'm about to start playing DR2 coop with a friend who doesn't have a lot of free time to play, which would mean long breaks in between

Is it recommended then for me to play a save as solo and keep a separate save for coop? Or is it recommended that I leave my friend to host whilst i keep using my primary save?

Well, I'm not really sure how it works but, I saved in co-op in a diffferent file, and I can't access it anymore. How would you use the file then? I don't know...I don't really feel like playing 8 hours straight...which I don't think people do.

What do you mean? You mean you can't save to the slot anymore or load from it?

You can't access your file any longer? Does it come up with some error, or does the game freeze when you try to load your save? Your file save may have been corrupted. It's happened to me before.

Something really weird happened to me and i'm sure it's because of co-op....

I'm following the prima stategy guide, and i saved this guy named lenny ( right after you tame or kill snowflake, he's the one that turns on every slot machine in yucatan casino when you save him....) i'm at the point in the game where you have to go in the cafeteria in the security room where he tells you a code to score some extra cash.... The guy simply doesn't appear and he is not in my notebook !!!! I'm sure that's because i played with my brother online and saved on my old save file!!!! Oh and also when i entered my bro's game i got the achievement. For filling all the notebook!!!
