You don't need pictures. As soon as you climb up the cliff (from the docks where you get into Silent Hill,) you'll be on the road that leads into Silent Hill. Directly across from you is the entrance to the Dargento Cemetery. it's not big enough so that you wont be able to find what you're looking for without a little effort. And the only gem that isn't in it is easily found if you know how to use the map. The building it's in is labeled Toluca Lake Offices.

Seriously...... The whole point of achievements is earning them on your own. Instead it seems like most people here want everything made as ridiculously easy as possible.

man your such a downer, why must you complain on everything i post, jeez. pics would help to see the over all location so people can find it alot easier. after all this is a helping thread not a complain about other peoples posts thread., your post had nothing to do with the overall thread what so ever. and the one thing i learned on these forums, Simplicity is amazing! the more you simplify something the better! cause not all users speak english or understand it that well. with that being said, pics would help the everyone greatly.:nana Edited by dethklok

Well, isn't that the point of this whole place. To figure out fast and/or easy ways to get achievements?

Not in my opinion, no. To me this site has always been something to use when I absolutely can not figure something out myself. After I've exhausted all avenues. Not a place I go to see exactly how to do everything with as little effort of my own as possible. And for the record, there are fast and easy ways to get the achievements in the guide. That's why I wrote it. Because believe it or not, I do realize that some people struggle more than others. But I did and will not ever put pictures in it illustrating exactly where an item is. I feel the descriptions are more than sufficient and the rest should be up to the player.

Why not try just playing the game on your own first. Putting in that little effort to earn the achievements yourself? Isn't that the point? Instead, you're asking for pictures to show you the exact location of each item, and where to use it. That requires absolutely no skill whatsoever. And it really just amounts to someone else practically unlocking the achievement for you. It's lazy, defeats the purpose of earning the achievement..... And ultimately, the game itself. What the hell is the point of playing a game, if you don't even want to enjoy it and figure things out for yourself??

If you wanna get down to brass tacks on this: I completed the game and earned the full 1000 gamerscore in two days. I didn't have a guide. I didn't search for step by step instructions or pictures showing me where this or that was. I did it myself. The only thing I had help on was the location of one single item. Which I'll admit, wasn't easy to find. But I probably could've found it myself if I'd taken more time with it. But for the sake of finishing the guide as quickly as possible, I opted to ask a friend who offered help if I needed it. But I enjoyed the hell out of figuring the other 99.99% out myself. Much more so than I would have if I had a step by step walkthrough with illustrations holding my hand through the whole experience.

Moral of the story is: This game is not that hard at all. It's an incredibly fast and easy 1000. And playing the game, enjoying it, and earning the achievements yourself is the whole point. All it takes is effort.

if your gonna complain about how your suppost to get the achievements on your own they why are you posting in the achievement trading threads LMAO!!

If you're talking about The Orange Box, you may want to go ahead and read up on the requirements for the achievement I was going for:

It's called "With Friends Like These." It's a Team Fortress 2 achievement that you can only unlock by playing with 10 friends in the same game, at the same time. So I set up a date and coordinated a time for people to get together, play the game, and unlock it. Which I'll add, is probably the only way you could ever unlock it. Because the chances of ever getting a full room of your friends in any game, let alone TF2, at the same time is next to impossible.

So for future reference, you might want to do your homework before you try talking shit. So you can at least sound like you know what the hell you're talking about.

So you figured out the criteria for all of the endings you didn't get on your first playthrough, obtained all of those endings in one day, all by your lonesome, through careful, vigilant study of the game, and not by resorting to a guide or the Internet to tell you what to do.

Right?

You know, cuz earning the achievements yourself is the whole point.

Riiiiight??

Yeah.... As a matter of fact, I did. It's not like it takes long to play to the end from where the decisions need to be made. Less than an hour, as I recall.

Sweet, so what was your logic in determining what the criteria were to achieve a certain ending in the first place?

Step by step, if possible.

I say this because I'm on my first run, and have absolutely no clue which ending I will get. If you ask me which decisions I made contributed to the ending, I would have no idea.

How did you transcend all of this?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you knew all of this because....

This is in the guide......

...that you compiled, but did not author.

Yeah, the guide I was referring to was the achievement guide that I wrote.

The criteria were pretty cut and dry: the choices concerning the parents. Since those were the only ones you earned achievements for. The decision to let wheeler live or die affects two endings, but in most other cases, just gives you the same ending you'd get regardless of his fate. I learned this through trial and error. Which wasn't that much extra effort, considering I set up a save before choosing to let him live or die.

My first ending was the UFO ending. Because I didn't shoot the mother not realizing she'd get ripped apart otherwise. Then I blamed the father because I thought he was a bastard. Then I saved the cop because I wanted the achievement. UFO ending unlocked.

Next, I just did the same thing, instead letting the cop die. All bad decisions. Which unlocked the Judgement ending, just as I thought it might.

Then again, didn't kill the mother, chose to forgive the father and save the cop. Hospital ending.

Tried again. Didn't kill the mother, chose to forgive the father, let the cop die. Same thing. Hospital ending.

Then, by logic of deduction, knew there were only two endings left. So I went back and played the kill the mother route. First blaming the father. Saving the cop. In Water ending. Did it again, letting the cop die. Same thing.

Then again, killing the mother, forgiving the father. Saving the cop. Unlocking the best ending. And again, letting the cop die. Same thing.

That step by step enough for you?

You can go ahead and kiss my ass. Everything in the guide is there because I went through the game and played from every possible angle. I played through three complete games before I even considered the guide to be finished in a rough draft version. The only parts I didn't take credit for were the parts that others helped me with. Madcap1 for helping me find one of the gems for the rifle puzzle. KYPuppy for the p[ictures of the achievements. And LostButSeeking for his lists of photos and drawings. Which I had found all of, but not during the same runs. And by the time I did, he already had the lists finished, so I included them in the guide.

But whatever. I don't give a shit what you think. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna listen to some chump tell me that something I put the effort into writing is something that I can't claim credit for.

Go screw yourself.

Then why are you taking the high and mighty route for people wanting help with achievements if you wrote the achievement guide at an achievement site?

And I looked at the post dates in your guide thread. You had the answers spelled out for you way before you actually performed them.

I'm just amazed that you're insisting upon all of us believing that you figured the game's endings out 100% for yourself.

You're like a porn director who sets up a storefront that says FREE PORN, and whenever somebody comes in, you want to lecture them about the evils of pornography.

Jesus dude.

Sites like this are about helping each other, but from the looks of it you were more than willing to accept help and take credit, but you have no problem scorning and condescending others for wanting assistance.

What's up with that?

I'm not condecending anyone for wanting help. I wrote the damn guide to help people that need help. But I've already explained my thoughts on the whole mess in previous posts. And I don't make it a habit of continually repeating myself.

And I looked at the post dates in your guide thread. You had the answers spelled out for you way before you actually performed them.

The dates I made the posts don't mean a damn thing. That's when I started writing the guide. At which point I only had about 100 points worth of achievements unlocked. Most of the descriptions were added as I played the game. If you look at the bottom of each post you'd see that they've been edited.

I'm just amazed that you're insisting upon all of us believing that you figured the game's endings out 100% for yourself.

I don't give a damn what you believe. I know what I did, and you don't. it just amazes me that I took the effort to do this, and I'm being told that I'm full of shit for one ridiculous reason or another.

Accept help from who? Madcap1? Because he's the only person that helped me. And even then, even though he offered more help, I only had him tell me the location of one item. And I gave him credit for it. Because credit was due. Same with LostButSeeking. He was the first to do the item location guides. So as opposed to just writing my own, I put his lists in the guide and gave him full credit.

And I'm not condecending anyone for wanting help. If I was, I wouldn't have bothered writing the guide. People need help from time to time. And that's perfectly fine. But what I don't get, and this is really ridiculous, is when people like dethlok have everything described in intricate detail like in this thread, say "it's not good enough! add pictures in there." And MadCap1 agrees with me on this. He's about ready to scream because of all the crap that's been going on here. I thought the item collectible threads were fine as is. But people kept insisting that they should have pictures in them, be ordered a specific way, etc. What the hell is the point??? You have a detailed description right in front of you that tells you exactly what you need to do. SO JUST DO IT!

Basically what it boils down to is this: There are people here that have taken our time and effort into making these guides and lists to help other people when they need it. But for some strange reason, to some people, it isn't good enough. And it won't be until it's exactly the way they want it to be. And that's a shitty way to show your gratitude. And it really makes us wonder why the hell we even bothered.

Regardless, I'm finished with this. At this point, you're just grasping at straws in an effort to discredit the time and effort I put into the guide for everyone to make use of. You have no idea what the hell you're talking about. And like I said, I'll be damned if I'm going to listen to a chump like you tell my that I can't take credit for the guide that I took the time and effort to write so that people would have a place to turn to when they needed the help.

seriously dude, chill the hell out, go take a break from the forums for a few days. there is no need for that attitidue on here what so ever. i noticed a trend here, lets see if you can figure it out. whats the point of all the name calling??? whats the point of all this arguing? god damn, the OP made the thread to help people and you fucking come in and start a damn war. have a aliitle respect for the OP. there isnt a need to come in this thread and start calling proplr names and all that. if you dont like what someone said then dont read it and leave it the helkl alone!
