shangri la27
Personally, even if theyre shit, Id still buy it. hard or lame. But they do NEED it. Unless the games phenomenal, like MGS4 on ps3 w/o trophies. My attention span is laughable, so I need to have those goals to keep me driven otherwise these games fade into backlog faster than a sinking boulder. TVthePunisher
If achievements disappeared from games, I could finally sit back and take a breathe...relaxing to see "this phase of my life is over, don't have to hunt them anymore". Course...that's not gonna happen.
CheetahGirl
No if it is actually a good game. Maybe thats why i don't want to play games like dora the explorer
Rapture639
Isn't it kind of odd asking this question on a site dedicated to writing guides to unlock achievements and talking about achievements? I mean the majority of people visiting this site are going to be achievement hunters because that's who this site is for so of course most people are going to say that hey wouldn't play a game if it had no achievements. My opinion isn't much different for obvious reasons but I'll also add that if the next Xbox decides to scrap achievements (which won't happen but hypothetically speaking), then I think I'd stop being a console gamer and go back to PC since steam is a much better service for downloading games at really cheap prices and generally the community is alot more mature. Skilled
Well I only buy games I look forward to so achievements in no way change my opinion on buying a game.
Thee Elf
20 years ago I would have bought a game regardless. Once the achievement concept was added, I realized how much more it added to the game experience. In the past you could simply beat a game and that was that. For those wanting to get every achievement in a game, it actually allowed more in-depth exploration of the game finding things you normally wouldn't trying to beat it. So as of today, I would want my achievements to help add to the gaming experience.
warrenpaul
nah course not, never had achievements on the snes games lol i do enjoy the achievements tho, would be gutted if they removed them
Snowed
Sadly I would not play in all likelihood. Achievements simply make games more fun. It feels really great getting them. They inherently increase the feeling of reward when you accomplish something. When you beat a game without an achievement you think "Well, that was pretty cool." When you beat a game and you get a 100G achievement for it, you think "Well that was worth it, I'm glad I did that." Your happiness level is much higher. GeneralGranko
No achievements = i would buy it, but it must be cheap and i would play it only on low difficulty And i also play some PC games, where are not achievements, and i dont care, but achievements on xbox are very important for me. paramoreRyan
The Xbox achievement bug has definitely caught me. I sometimes feel myself wondering why I'm playing a game on another a handheld or the PC when there are no achievements.. Damn Xbox.
CHIRUNO99
Not at all, since I already have with the Namco Museum virtual Arcade. It has a load of games on the disc which don't have achievements, remakes and originals of arcade titles. It's still a lot of fun to play with. It also has the XBLA games on it which do have the shiny gold stars.

Carmona
I wouldn't play as many games as I do....or at least go through them. There are games I would play no matter what.

Dav13s
Nope. I'm a gamer before I'm an achievement whore, if I want a game I'm going to buy it anyway, achievements or not.
Kunduz
no not really, if I deem a game worth purchasing. I'll buy it regardless if it lacks achievements or not. I would be more surprised, if they released a retail xbox 360 game without any achievements. Edited July 16, 2012 by Kunduz
Kairi
I would buy a game with or without achievements as long as the game is something I am interested in.

BKBLAZER
Thats a tough one. I would be disappointed if the game didn't have achievements. But I would probably still get the dlc because I like to complete story lines and new maps etc...
Amigo125
I like getting achievements, though they are worthless, however, i would take a good game with no achievements, over a bad game with lots of achievements. I spend majority of my time on multiplayer so I still spend hours playing without any achievements. But do have fun!! (even if the multiplayer experience frustrates me!!)
