Introduction:

What starts as a mission to rescue a kidnapped archaeologist turns into a race to save Earth from destruction in this game based on Cartoon Network's hit superhero TV series. Join the Young Justice team as you chase down criminals around the globe on a dangerous mission to unravel a plot by the Light. The sinister organization is trying to track down the fragments of an ancient and powerful statue. If they do, it's doom for the people of Earth! Play as any of the Young Justice squad's 12 members. Battle alongside legendary DC characters who make cameos to help you on your mission. The original story line was created by two of the show's writers and features co-op and multiplayer modes.

Step 1: Normal Difficulty Playthrough - Collectibles - Level Specific achievements - Obtaining 'A' Ranking On Levels

Recommended starting your first playthrough on Normal difficulty. For this playthrough focus on the following Collectibles, Level Specific achievements, and Obtaining 'A' Ranking On Levels. Also during this playthough you will familiarize yourself with the different types of enemies and bosses. Focus on finding all the collectibles in each level, see "Mardi Gras" for the locations of each collectible. Another thing to focus on is completing each level with an "A" rank. All you have to do is defeat every enemy in that level. There are also a few level specific achievements that should be knocked out during this playthrough.

Step 2: Co-op and Hard Difficulty Playthrough

Time to find a partner either over XBOX Live or offline local to run through the game on Hard difficulty and co-op. Hard difficulty is not very challenging, but it is a lot easier playing through it on co-op. You can search for a co-op partner through the Achievement Trading Thread. But you might have a better chance of just getting one of your buddies or sibling to help you out.

Step 3: YJ Challenges

At this point you should have already completed at least two playthroughs and have gotten a majority of the achievements. Now it is time to complete and obtain an "A" ranking on all 6 YJ Challenges, which are accessible from the main menu > YJ Challenges. See "No Match, not even in Cadmus" for tips and more details on how to obtain an "A" rank.

Step 4: Collectibles

If you missed any collectibles during any of your playthroughs. Take this time to go back and replay the level(s) in which you are missing a collectible. Refer to "Mardi Gras" achievement below for video locations of each collectible.

Step 5: Trivia and Clean Up

At this point all you should be missing are the four trivia achievements. The trivia questions are based of the Young Justice tv show. But you don't need to watch the show or have watched the show to answer these questions. See "Trivia Master" for more details on how to obtain these achievements.

Also if you are still missing some collectibles, level specific achievement, missing enhancements or haven't leveled to level 40 yet. Then this would be a good time to get those done.

Conclusion:

Overall Young Justice: Legacy is an easy completion, if you can put up with average graphics, story line and fighting mechanisms.

Thanks to Redemption Mode for the collectible videos.

Complete the game on Hard Difficulty

Hard difficulty isn't very hard and you can choose to do this on your first playthrough. If not, play through the game on Normal to a feel of the levels and enemies. The main difference between Hard and Normal is you take more damage from enemies and inflict less damage towards enemies. Playing on Hard earns you more experience. You can switch between difficulties at any time by pressing :xbut: on the level select screen. However, all missions have to be finished on Hard to earn credit for this achievement.

Tips for Hard difficulty:

  • Take out the tougher enemies first. There are the red, yellow, and purple robots. Also any enemy that shoots, as they can hit you no matter of where you are standing in the level.
  • Choose characters that are different from each other to help defeat different types of enemies. E.x. Select a range character like Nightwing to hit stronger enemies from a distance. And a powerful more stronger character like Superboy to cause more damage to groups of enemies at once.
  • Use your special attack as often as possible. Mainly your area attack, (:rtbut:+:bbut:). Area attacks have a great damage radius. This will help stun enemy groups and keep you from getting surrounded.
  • Keep an eye on your health as well as your teammates. If you or a teammate goes down. Quickly make your way to them and avoid taking any additional damage by using :bbut: to escape from enemy attacks.
  • Save your Team Boost, (:lbbut:+:rbbut:) attack for larger groups of enemies.
  • Make sure to upgrade your characters attributes whenever you level up. These increase the damage of your special attacks.
  • make use of the enhancements. That two that seem to go well with each other is Black Canary Advance Combat Kit, increases hand-to-hand damage by 10% and Green Lanter's Advance Defensive Kit, decreases damage received by 10%.

For this achievement you must obtain an 'A' ranking for all 15 missions. This is easier than it sounds. To obtain an 'A' ranking simply defeat every enemy in that level regardless of what difficulty you are playing on. For some levels you wont be able to progress in them until you have defeated previous enemies. If you have obtained an 'A' ranking on all levels, you will unlock this with "A Death in the Family" and/or "Legacy", if you are playing on Hard.

NOTE: This also includes defeating every enemy that appears during any boss fight.

Level 40 is the highest level you can obtain in this game. You can level up by defeating enemies, bosses and by earning experience. You earn more experience from defeating stronger enemies and bosses. Reaching level 40 will require a bit of grinding. After completing two playthroughs you should around level 35. You can grind out the rest of the level as you complete the YJ Challenges. Another good place to grind out experience is to replay the very last boss Tiamat. Alternatively, you can replay the level Riddler's Labyrinth and enter the following code, BLUE - YELLOW - BLUE - GREEN - RED, from the start. You will get 3250xp in 30 seconds. Keep repeating this till you reach level 40.

Complete all missions in co-op mode

You will need to complete all 15 missions in co-op mode to obtain this. It does not have to be done with the same co-op partner or in one session.

Co-op mode can either be done over XBOX Live or by playing offline with a second controller plugged in. The online community is pretty much dead, so you best bet is to play offline with a second controller. You can control both players yourself or have a friend play with you. If you do play co-op mode over XBOX Live, remember what level you played last in co-op since the game does not have a tracking system for what levels you have completed in co-op.

To start co-op mode, start a level and then press :start: on the second controller and you will automatically be assigned to one of the characters not being used. You can switch from character to character by pressing :dleft: or :dright:.

There are a total of 56 enhancements that must be purchased. You will need approximately 175, 000 credits to purchase all the enhancements in the game. Credits are earned by defeating enemies and bosses. These enhancements are like perks that adds a little extra boost to your attacks, health, etc. A majority of the enhancements will only need to be purchased once for it to be available for all characters. The same enhancement can be equipped to more than just one character. To view the enhancements for your character, press :ybut: while on the character selection screen to enter the characters profile. And then by scrolling down to where it says WayneTech Enhancements.

This achievement is unlocked after you complete one out of six YJ Challenges.

Complete half of the challenges

This achievement is unlocked after you complete three out of six YJ Challenges.

See "No Match, not even in Cadmus" for more details.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/37.jpg No Match, not even in Cadmus 30:gsicon:

Complete all challenges

There are a total of six YJ Challenges. These YJ Challenges can be accessible from the main menu and selecting YJ Challenges. Some of the YJ Challenges are unlock by naturally progressing through the game.

Challenge 1 - Horde

For this challenge you will have to defeat 10 waves of enemies, with each wave progressively getting harder then the previous wave. You are allowed to pick any character you like for this challenge. I would go with the characters you feel most comfortable using. And also your heath does not regenerate at any point during this challenge so I would pick Miss Martin to be part of your team as she can restore lost health by using her :rtbut: + :bbut: special power.

As long as you defeat every enemy without dying you should have no trouble obtaining an "A" ranking.

Challenge 2 - CountDown

For this challenge you will have to fight 5 waves of enemies, with each wave progressively increasing in difficulty. In CountDown, you will have a timer and will have to defeat all the enemies under the time limit. You are given 60 seconds from the start and awarded extra time for every enemy you defeat. Again you are allowed to pick characters you like for this challenge. And again I advise to pick Miss Martin as your health does not regenerate in this challenge. Make sure you use your characters :rtbut: + :bbut: and characters boost attack when there are groups of enemies.

As long as you defeat all the enemies and do not let the timer hit 0, you should obtain an "A" ranking.

Challenge 3 - Survivor

For this challenge you will have to fight 5 waves of enemies, with each wave progressively increasing in difficulty. In Survivor, your health will slowly decrease every few seconds, but will increase every time you defeat an enemy. Again you are allowed to select any character you like. And again choosing Miss Martian will benefit you, as she can restore health.

To obtain an "A" ranking, mix up your attack combos and use your squad boost to maximize your points.

Challenge 4 - CountDown II

This challenge basically mimics Challenge 2- CountDown. You will fight 5 waves of enemies. With the timer starting at 60 seconds and awarded extra time by defeating enemies. But this time around there will be more stronger enemies to defeat than before. Your heath will not regenerate at anytime during this challenge. Like before you are allowed to select your characters and having Miss Martian will benefit you as she can restore health.

As long as you defeat all the enemies and do not let the timer hit 0, you should obtain an "A" ranking.

Challenge 5 - Survivor II

This challenge basically mimics Challenge 3 - Survivor. There will still be 5 waves of enemies. And your health will slowly decrease every few seconds, but will increase every time you defeat an enemy. The only thing different this time are the enemies. The enemies will be bigger and stronger. Focus on taken out those enemies first and then the smaller enemies. Like before you are allowed to select your characters and having Miss Martian will benefit you as she can restore health.

To obtain an "A" ranking, mix up your attack combos and use your squad boost to maximize your points.

Challenge 6 - Horde II

This challenge mimics Challenge 1 - Horde. This challenge can prove to be slightly difficult compared to the previous ones. You will have to fight 10 waves of strong enemies, like the purple robots and the large stone statue warriors. You will get surrounded by enemies easily during this challenge and that increases the amount of health you will lose. So having Miss Martin in your team is a must in this challenge. She can restore your lost health using her :rtbut: + :bbut: special attack. Other than that you can choose any characters for with challenge, I went with Superboy and Nightwing. Recommend defeating any large enemies first and always stay on the move. Also make use of your characters area special attack and team boost to damage big groups of enemies.

As long as you defeat every enemy without dying you should have no trouble obtaining an "A" ranking.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/38.jpg Challenge Master 15:gsicon:

Get 50% A Grades in YJ Challenges

This achievement will unlock once you have obtained an "A" ranking on three out of the six YJ Challenges.

Get all A Grades in YJ Challenges

This is very similar to "Graduate with Honors" achievement. You will need to obtain an "A" rank on all six YJ Challenges, Horde, CountDown, Survivor, CountDown II, Survivor II, Horde II.

See "No Match, not even in Cadmus" for more details.

You will need to answer 5 Trivia questions correctly in a row. This achievement will unlock after the round is over. See "Trivia Master" for more details.

See "Trivia Master" for more details.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/43.jpg Trivia Master 30:gsicon:

Reach a Score of 5000 in the Young Justice Trivia

To access the Young Justice trivia questions, use the computer to the right hand side while in the hub area. Once you start the trivia questions you will be given 120 seconds (2 minutes) to answer as many questions correctly before the time runs out. All the questions are multiple choice. The questions are always given at random. The highest score you can reach is 5000! Once you've reach 5000 points or have ran out of time, the game will automatically stop.

All the questions in the trivia are related to the Young Justice tv show. Do not stress if you can't answer any of the questions correctly at first, as with time you will figure out the answers and will start to get the right. A few thing to note:

  • If a question is answered incorrectly. You will lose 100 points off your score
  • The quicker you answer the questions, the more points you will get
  • Every time you restart the trivia game, the answers will change positions

Unfortunately there is no answer key for the Young Justice Trivia questions. What you can do is pause the game and do a Google search to help find the answer.

For "Trivia Apprentice" and "Trivia Expert", you will have to end the round with either the exact score or with a higher score to get the related achievements. All trivia achievements unlock after the round, not during.

TIP: This is what I did to earn all trivia achievements and only took me two attempts. When you start the trivia quickly spam the :ybut: to answer the questions.

Defeat Cheshire

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Cheshire during Mission[???]. Cheshire has one main attack which is shooting projectiles at you. Use the two pillars in the middle of the room to take cover or press :bbut: to dodge these attacks. The best time to attack Cheshire is when he teleports and crouches to prepare his rocket launcher.

Defeat Sportmaster

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Sportmaster during Mission 2 - Artifact Room. Sportmasters main attack is a spinning attack that cannot be avoided if you are standing right in front of him. He also fires a few projectiles that can easily be avoided. Getting caught by his spinning attack will cause you to lose a large chunk of health. There will also be groups of enemies you will have to fight, but your teammates should have no problem taking them out so no need to worry about those enemies. The best time to attack Sportmaster is after he is done using his spinning attack as he will be dizzy and wont be able to move or attack.

Defeat Killer Frost

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Killer Frost during Mission 4 - Ice Garden. Not a tough fight. Killer Frost will stand high on top of some ice pillars and will use only two main attacks. Both of these attacks are easily spotted, as you can see there exact locations and can prepare yourself to avoid the attacks. The first type of attack are ice spikes that emerge from the ground up, and the second type of attack are ice rocks that fall from the sky down. Also during this fight, Killer Frost will summon little groups of robotic spiders. But I wouldn't worry to much about as they are very weak and your teammates should be able to defeat them with out much trouble.

Defeat Icicle Jr and Sportmaster

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight both Icicle Jr and Sportmaster at the same time during Mission 5 - Laser Room. Sportmast will have the same exact attacks as the previous fight. And I would focus on defeating Sportmaster first. Now, Icicle Jr attacks slightly different but similar to Sportmasters attacks. Icicle Jr can regenerate his health by creating an ice shield structure around himself. When he does, quickly run over and smash the ice shield structure, this will deal a great amount of damage to his health. Luckily there are no addition enemies to worry about during this fight.

Defeat Bane

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Bane during Mission 7 - Amphitheater Ruins. Bane only has two attacks, both of which are really easy to avoid. The first attack is a shoulder dash that can be avoided by using :bbut: to move out of Banes path and the second is a strong punch attack that can only damage you if you are standing to close. The best way to attack Bane, is to have him charge the pillars in the area and attack him while he is dazed. Once the six pillars have been destroyed, the only way to defeat Bane is to hit him while he is preorming an attack. Also there is be groups of robotic spiders in this area, and should be defeated as quick as possible.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/6.jpg Secrets from the Deep 20:gsicon:

Defeat Black Manta

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Black Manta during Mission 8 - Temple Drifting Site. This is a two part boss fight.

In the first part, you will need to disable six generators by tapping :xbut: next to them when the button prompt appears. This can be done fairly quick and can avoid having to fight the surrounding enemies. Just watch out for the rocket launcher in the middle, as one hit will knock you down. Also Lex Luther will be flying around in a hover craft aiming rockets at you. The rockets location will be displayed on the ground so quickly avoid them.

For the second part, you will fight Black Manta. This will be pretty easy as all you have to do is destroy the generators powering the force field that is holding Aquaman. There will also be enemies spawning in while attempting to destroy the generators. You can simply ignore these enemies or defeat them.

NOTE: If you are planning on obtain an 'A' rank. You will need to defeat all the enemies during this level.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/7.jpg Twisted Mind 20:gsicon:

Defeat Psimon

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Psimon during Mission 11 - Mind Realm Level. This is another two part boss fight.

In the first part you will be fighting clones of the three characters you are playing as currently. Simply run around and defeat them.

Once you have defeated all three clones. You will see a giant floating head flying around the level. It will spit Psimon out onto the platform. At this point you will have to deal as much damage possible to him before the giant floating head swallows Psimon back up. Psimon will not attack you at all during this fight, but you will have to avoid getting hit by a series of red water spouts that shot up from the floor as you attempt to defeat him. A cool little trick is to stand directly next to Psimon as you hit him and you should not get hit by the water spouts.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/8.jpg Riddle me this! 20:gsicon:

Defeat The Riddler

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight The Riddler during Mission 12 - The Riddlers Wheel. This fight is quit simple and shouldn't take to long to defeat The Riddler. The Riddler will be standing on top of a platform in the middle of the roulette wheel. He will spin the roulette wheel in which four things can happen, spawn groups of enemies, drop bombs, fill the entire room with green poisonous gas and opens a panel in which you can inflict damage to The Riddler. If the spinner lands on the green poisonous gas, quickly run over and destroy that panel. This gas can kill you very quickly or drain half your heath away. The panel you will want to wait for is the one with the green "?" icon. Once the spinner lands on that panel quick go up to it and attack it. This will make The Riddlers platform get lower. Do thins five more times to defeat him.

Defeat Blockbuster

Story related and cannot be missed!

You will fight Blockbuster during Mission 15 - Klarion's Chamber. You will notice that Klarion and Blockbuster are both in this fight, but you will only have to defeat Blockbuster. Blockbuster has a few different attacks, but they can only hurt you if you are close to him. To inflict damage to Blockbuster, you will need to stand close to Klarion and he will preform a move in which fire balls will come raining down. Lure Blockbuster into the fire balls radius so he gets hit and leaves him dazed long enough to get a few good hits on him. Repeat 6-7 more times till Blockbuster is defeated.

Finish the game

Story related and cannot be missed!

This will unlock after you have completed every mission and have defeated Tiamat for the third time on Mission 15 - Tiamat's Well (III).

Defeating Tiamat - Start by killing the dragon ghosts to build up your characters squad boost bar. Do this for all three characters. Once all character have their squad boost bar filled, press :lbbut: + :rbbut: to use the squad boost. You will be able to hit Tiamat. You can choose to hit him from long range or with hand-to-hand combat. Do this around 3-4 more times until he is defeated. *Make sure you hit Tiamat once you have activated your team boost. There are a limited number of dragon ghost that spawn, so if you defeat all the dragon ghost you will not be able to defeat Tiamat.

Don’t break any Statue in the Museum Stage during “A Hostage Crisis”

This is done during Mission 2 - A Hostage Crisis. This is a very easy to obtain, but also very easy not to. The statues are generally located near the museum walls. While fighting enemies use only :xbut: and :ybut: attacks. Do not use your special power or squad boost attacks during this entire level. If you get to close to a statue as you are fighting, simply move away from it until you have some good distance from it and continue the fight.

Escape the Avalanche Stage during “Go with the Flow” in less than 5 minutes

This is done during Mission 6 - Go with the Flow. You will need to defeat 4 rooms of enemies, which each filed with different kinds of enemies, in under 0:05:00 minutes. This is a lot easier than it really sounds. Just make use of your characters special attacks and use squad boost to defeat groups of enemies. Attempting this achievement is a lot easier on Normal difficulty.

Avoid damage from the spike trap in Atabey's Temple Stage during “The Goddess Shrine”

This is done during Mission 8 - The Goddess Shrine. You will encounter the spikes you will need to avoid early in the level. There are three section in which will be emerging from the ground. You will need to make it to the end without being hit by the spikes. Before running through the spikes, observe the spike patterns first. Then make your moves. Use :bbut: to dash through these sections and make it to the safe zones in the middle of each set. This could take a few attempts.

Don't be spotted by any searchlight in Gotham Docks Warehouse stage during Hometown

This is done during Mission 10 - Gotham Docks. Throughout the level there will be a series of spotlights you will have to avoid. This is a lot easier than it sounds. Just watch the spotlights movement patterns before advancing. The spotlights follow a pattern that can easily be avoided by going around them or moving the forklifts. There will also be a few snipers with lasers, that can kill you with one shot. These snipers will not reveal your positions or cause the spotlights to search for you or trigger any alarms. Also if one of your teammates pass through the spotlight, nothing will happen. If you get caught by a spotlight, you will be shot at by a near by rocket turret.

Don't activate the Statues in The Warrior's Path Stage during “Tag Team”

This is done during Mission 14 - Tag Team. Towards the end of the level you will enter a room with nine stone warrior statues and three large stone heads behind them. You will need to push the lion statue across the room without activating any of the stone warriors. The stone heads behind the stone warriors will open and shine a beam of light, you must avoid this beam of light coming from their eyes. If you are caught in the light the stone warriors will be resurrected. You will need to push the lion statue while the eyes on the stone head are closed.

nice work man!

Thanks !

Question on the co-op achievements, does the game have drop in/out so that you can just hit start on the second controller right before you finish a level and still get the achievements?

It does. While you are in a level you can hit start and add a second controller at anytime. I didn't get around to test if you can drop in before you finish a level and still get credit for playing the level in co-op. I should add there is no way to tell what level has been completed in co-op.

Okay, I've ordered the game, when it shows up I'll test that and see if it works. I hope so, I don't want to actually have to deal with another person to get the achievements. :p

Let me know if that works so I can make a note of it in the guide. The game isn't bad playing with another person. It made the Hard difficulty playthrough easy.

I finished both playthroughs and was only at level 34, found a lot better way to grind the remaining levels though..

In Riddler's labirynth, where you have to enter the color code blue-yellow-blue-green-red just start the level, enter the code and get 3250 XP richer (when on HARD) in 30 seconds. There is no quicker way to level up... :)

Another note, I think 20 hrs for this game is underestimated. I would say it is more in the 30 hrs range. Guide was a great help though!! Thanks!

I was around that same level when I finished my first playthrough. And then grinned out the rest during my hard playthrough. I will change the time and add that level to grind out xp thanks!

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2254/43.jpg Trivia Master 30:gsicon:

Damn, the spamming of the :ybut: button really works! Awesome. Thanks!

I did trail away from this game, but now I'm looking to 1K it.

I just cannot nail 'Art Preservation Society. I have tried everything, different characters, removing all of the upgrade so they shouldn't have any 'powers' but they still seem to use them. Even if I am careful not to break any statues, one of the team mates will just go and smash one because there are no enemies! Seriously! They will just walk aside and smash one, it's getting on my friggin nerves! My next step is dragging an empty controller though the level in co-op that way it should half the inactive AI.

Yes, that achievement took me 4-5 tries... even with 2 controllers. Good luck!

I got fed up after many more tries than that. I finally solved the problem...... 3 controllers - my gold tag and two silver tags! But I have begun to give up on the game, it keeps frigging crashing. I bought it cheap on a GoD sale and have tried uninstalling the update but it still crashes and now even during the regular campaign not just challenges.
