-ID card 44 is right there. It is on the table under the wooden shack BUT it was invisible on my version. Here is a link: http://deadisland.wikia.com/wiki/ID_Card_44

Tape(s) – Look just like cassette tapes. I know that may be a foreign object to some of you youngsters, but get on your Google machine and look it up if you need an idea of what that is.

Banoi Herald(s)– These look like green magazines/books, or possibly a restaurant menu. I believe there is some gold writing on the front.

ID Card(s) – These look just like little hotel access key cards. Possibly a driver’s license. If you are too young too know what either of these look like you probably shouldn’t be playing this game, but if you are anyways, and you want to know what those look like, again, get on your Google. ;D

Collectible Guide

Act 1 – Island

Tape 1: “Starting the Investigation” – The first hidden tape is located on the small table under the bookshelf in the living room of John Sinamoi’s bungalow 11. You’re in this area during the first mission Sinamoi gives you.

Tape 2: “Meeting the Informant” – The second hidden tape recording is located on the small table on the lighthouse balcony beside James Stein. (quest giver)

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 1” – The first collectible in the game is found in the bungalow where you begin the resort quests. It’s on a box near the bedroom exit next to the bed.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 2” – The second fact in the game is found on the desk in the beach surf shop. There is a guy out front in a truck that is surrounded by zombies. After you save him he walks in there and tells you take anything you want.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 3” – This fact is located on a desktop in the far back room on the first floor of the lifeguard tower.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 4” – There is a bar hut on the beach, up above/behind it is a red bungalow. It’s at the top of the hill. There is an undead druggy in the bed, dispatch him and pick up your fact from the desk.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 5” – In the Golden Bungalow district. This is the room where Anne Snider is. It’s on a low shelf, right next to her.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 6” – There is a subterranean power station in the back of the Silver Bungalow district. The only way to get in is by getting to the “Ray of Hope” side quest. Once you are in, it’s in an open tool box towards the back of the room.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 7” – This is in a bar gazebo out on the circular boardwalk that goes out into the water in front of the Diamond Bungalow district. The gazebo should be on your right hand side, if you are facing out towards the water. It’s on a metal desk inside the bar.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 8” – North of “Excerpt 7”. If you follow the loop around after getting 7 there will be part of the boardwalk that juts way out North. Follow that almost to the end. It’s in the furthest bungalow down. Once in the bungalow, go to the living room and it will be on a shelf on the right wall.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 9” – When you get to the quest “Black Hawk Down”, escort Nikolai back to the bunker. Once inside, take the warp portal, once you finish warping, go open the door in the northern bunker where you will find a workbench. There is a ladder, in this room. Climb it to find the fact in the lookout tower.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 10” – Found on the Workbench in the warehouse that is next to mechanic’s Marine Workshop. You will be in the vicinity of this during the quest “Only the Strong Survive”.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 11” – This bunker is sealed until Act II ironically enough. If you are quick you can grab it before Jin catches up to you and the jungle loads up. If you missed it, do not fear, just hop through the return portal in the jungle that is near the beginning and grab it.

Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 12” – This is located inside the building that Harlan wants to get inside. When you are doing the quest for Sinamoi that involves taking a truck and picking up fruit from two gas stations, this guy Harlan is on the way to the second gas station. He is inside a fenced in area, and has 5 or 6 zombies out front trying to get in. Kill them in your chosen method (I picked the truck, it’s just so much fun to plow over 5 at once!) and then open the gate. He’ll tell you to go inside. Once inside there is a Thug you have to kill, once you do look on the dresser at the end of the bed, and there it is!

ID Card(s) “#1” – After getting the access card from Sinamoi’s #11 bungalow just follow the dotted line back to the life guard hut where everyone is holed up. Along the way there will be a blue suitcase on the floor. Do us all a favor and go inside for a funny little easter egg. If you’re over 18 that is.

ID Card(s) “#2” – Right after the Surf Shop where you found Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 2”, there is a pier that goes out into the water. There is a bar out there. Go into the little building in the middle of it and the card will be on the counter above a weapon’s chest.

ID Card(s) “#3” – Go farther north up the coast from the pier where ID Card(s) “#2” is located and there will be a Life Guard shack that is up on stilts. Go up the ramp and into the shack and it this card will be on the window sill.

ID Card(s) “#4” – Farther north from ID Card(s) “#3”, still on the beach. It’s on a beach blanket, just sitting on the shore. I guarantee you walked by it at least 5 times.

ID Card(s) “#5” – Keep heading up the coast from ID Card(s) “#4” and you will get to the Diamond Bungalow district. This bungalow is right on the water front. Walk up to the front doors. Open them and get your card from the table in the living room. There may or may no be a Thug in here.

ID Card(s)“#6” – Go up on the music stage. There is a table in the middle and the ID card is on the side.

ID Card(s) “#7” – When you are doing the quest “Black Hawk Down” and Nikolai unlocks the bunker for you, pick this card up from a stack of crates when he stops walking.

ID Card(s)“#8” – If you just picked up ID Card(s) “#7” and are going for these in order then the next three will be cake walk. This one is about half way around the loop of the boardwalk that goes out into the water right in front of ID Card(s) “#7”. It’s on the little island out there, at a bar. There’s a dead guy next to the card.

ID Card(s) “#9” – Keep walking around the loop and if you came from ID Card: “#8” it should be the first Bungalow on your left. Go in and pick up the card from the table next to the bathtub. When I went in, this place was filled with zombies. So be ready to crack some skulls.

ID Card(s) “#10” – If you continue around the loop from ID Card(s) “#9” this is the 5th bungalow on your left. (the bungalow with ID Card: “#9” being number 1) It’s on the bed with a rotting corpse that is being guarded by a beautiful Thug.

ID Card(s) “#11” – In a bungalow in the Silver Bungalow district. It’s the group that houses the power station with Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 6”. It’s next to some luggage that is on the small desk near the front door. You have to enter the bungalow from the back.

ID Card(s) “#12” – This is in the Golden Bungalow district which is the location of Banoi Herald: “Excerpt 5” as well. Not the same bungalow. But close by. It’s on a bed side table.

ID Card(s) “#13” – When you find Luke Craig, you will find this card on the bookshelf by him. I believe he is the brother that needs the Insulin for the quest “Too Much Sugar”.

ID Card(s) “#14” – This is in the register booth. Right next to the register is the card. While you’re there feel free to pick up the food and alcohol, but only if you’re over 21.

ID Card(s) “#15” – Northwest of the Lighthouse Gas station is a warehouse. It’s surrounded by a fence. To get in you have to jump up on the truck and over the fence to get beside the warehouse. Then bust down the door. Go to the back room and bust that door and it’s on the desk.

I really wish you provided almost the whole page since the description of where to find some of them are on the same page and you haven't updated this in awhile and the game doesn't have these maps laid on in certain sections of the game like the market or city hall

I really wish you provided almost the whole page since the description of where to find some of them are on the same page and you haven't updated this in awhile and the game doesn't have these maps laid on in certain sections of the game like the market or city hall

I didn't include the whole page because it would have been impossible to read the descriptions.

The reason I haven't updated in a while (which is untrue. I have actually edited the colors per requests, and made it a little clearer) is because I have a wife, two small children, and 1.5 jobs. No one else was stepping up to do a collectibles guide, and so I thought I would get one started. As I said in the original post. If someone wants to write a guide, or do something totally different, then by all means. I'm just doing this to be helpful.

Trust me, I am getting it typed up as fast as I can.

Finally, if you're just concerned about the achievement, go back through ACT 1 multiple times until the achievement pops. The collectibles stack with each new save. So as Pants said in the guide, you could theoretically pick up the 1st collectible 120 times. If you are a completionist, then I am sure you are used to taking a while to do things, and so waiting for me to finish the guide shouldn't be too hard.

Whoaa calm DOWN. I only wanted a full page of the market because I'm having a hell of a time trying to find Fact #25. There's an icon on the map and I've searched high and low in that area for it. I watched a collectables video and the guy missed it, it's making me wonder if this is a quest based fact or if BradyGames messed up in their guide.....again

The sewers guide is hard to figure where you are/start/enter.

Did you scan these yourself Grimfel? And if so is there any more detail on the Act II sewers that can give me a frame of reference to go hunting?

EDIT: Got it, upper right is the entry point from City Hall. I started my game at that point today so not sure but assuming other sewer section is the stretch from Moresby to City Hall. Doesn't that mean there is another section of sewer that connects to the Church?

EDIT2: And top left of the lower map is City Hall so I assume that bottom right is Moresby.

EDIT3: Church connections are in the green box area, upper right corner seems to house a couple of slums entrances and one specifically labelled church. All questions answered - hopefully this info will be of use to anyone else in the same situation.

Maybe I'm just blind, but 44 is not where it says it is on the map (I'm pretty sure this is a Brady error). Any help with this one would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean ID card. Did you cross reference the description I just put up this AM? I haven't found that one yet, but when I do I'll try to make it more clear. Or if you or someone else does let me know and I'll add it to the guide.

Sorry about that, I did mean ID card 44. Im using the iPad app which shows 44 in the same location as your scanned map, with a picture that seems to be in the right location, but no ID card shows up in the game. Your description for 44 matches the location, picture, and description of ID 45. I found the one near the propane tank, which I'm pretty sure came up as ID 45, but 44 is driving me nuts. I'll try to post a picture of where 44 is supposed to be according to the iPad app and maybe someone else can double check to make sure I'm not nuts.

Also, thanks for posting this. I know how much time these collectible guides take.

The guide isn't really necessary. I found probably 135 collectibles on my first playthrough just by looking around all the time and exploring.

This guide is for the likes of myself who want to hear all of the tapes and collect all pages of the document. There is more to the collectibles than the achievement in this case, well maybe not the ID cards.

The ID cards I am not so bothered about because they are simply a total collected and not a list of specific ones collected (unfortunately).

Looking at the description for 44 and 45 they appear to both be in the market so I would say it is likely that the map marker for 44 is wrong. Did you have a longer hunt around the market?

I've spent quite a bit of time searching both the market and the area around where 44 is on the map. The only thing I can possibly think of is that maybe 44 doesn't appear until after after act II is finished. I'm just going to be really pissed if I finish the game with 99/100 ID cards.

Wow.... Let me know if you do get it. I'm playing on my second character currently, but on my main I am pretty much there. I'll give it a peek and see what I can see.
