Prince of Persia is a very simple game, the only part that should give you any real trouble is collecting the 1001 light seeds which can be very time consuming. However there are many videos on YouTube that show all of the light seeds in every level so they too can be completed quite easily.

Introduction:

Welcome to the Prince of Persia Road Map and Achievement Guide.

There are fourteen achievements in this game that can be missed, it is actually very difficult to miss the majority of these achievements. The only one that may be a problem is the "Be Gentle With Her" achievement.

This achievement requires you to die less than 100 times during the game. To avoid missing this achievement simply save the game whenever you are about to attempt something that is likely to kill you, and load if you die.

There are no serious glitches in this game.

Missable Achievements:

All of the following achievements can be missed.

- "Block Master"

- "Deflect Master"

- "Sword Master"

- "Be Gentle With Her"

- "Improviser"

- "Warrior Special"

- "Hunter Special"

- "Alchemist Special"

- "Concubine Special"

- "Speed Kill"

- "Throw Master"

- "Precious Time"

- "Speed Demon"

- "Combo Specialist"

Step #1 - Storyline Playthrough:

Start the game and play through normally, the majority of the achievements will unlock simple by playing through. Each of the four main bosses has an achievement that is associated with them. All of these achievements can be missed but you will have at least six opportunities per boss to unlock them.

You can also manually save the game before any boss fight and come back to these achievements at any time, as long as you keep the save.

Whilst playing the game make sure to be working towards the "Speed Kill" and "Throw Master" achievements whenever you encounter generic enemies. There are more than enough enemies in the game for both of these achievements.

I would suggest playing through the game only collecting the light seeds required to continue. Once you have healed all of the lands manually save your game.

Now enter the Temple defeat the final boss, and complete the end scenes. This will unlock the "Speed Demon" and (if you've been using the save load trick) the "Be Gentle With Her" achievement.

Step #2 - Achievement Mop-up:

With the main playthrough now complete and the easily missable achievements out of the way you can now load your pre-Temple save.

It's now possible to finish off all remaining achievements that were not unlocked during Step #1.

Collecting all of the remaining Light Seeds will be the most time consuming, there are YouTube videos that cover each of the levels and the location of all of the game's Light Seeds.

Now is also the best time to unlock all of the "Runner" achievements as there will no longer be any enemies or corruption that make navigating the levels more difficult.

DLC - Epilogue

The DLC adds an extra 2-3 hours to the game, but if you complete it in under 2 you will get No Time To Waste for your efforts. Dieing less than 20 times will unlock I Only Need A Hand or 20. These are not too difficult to get, if you make sure you save often, and if you miss them you can run through again quickly.

Make sure you follow the guide so you don't miss any frescoes getting you A Fresco of Light and All The Frescos.

Beating the Shapeshifter quickly will get you Change Once, Then Die, and if you kill all of the soldiers on the way before they spawn you will unlock Born Dead. Again, save regularly and if you don't reach them in time you can try again.

You will pick up The Best Defense is a Good Offence and What Once was There on the way, and when you finish you will unlock Leaving The Storm.

Finish up any final achievements, and you will have finished Prince of Persia.

Conclusion:

Overall this is a very simple game that pretty much anyone should be able to complete. Any achievements that you are still missing at this point can be unlocked by loading your pre-Temple save. Unfortunately if you missed any of the missable achievements you will need to start again, but most can be easily completed at the start of the game, with the obvious exception of the "Be Gentle With Her", "Speed Kill", and "Throw Master" achievements.

Just a heads up:

There is an alternate method to get "Be Gentle with Her", worth 100:gsicon: and probably the most annoying achievement of the game.

All you have to do is watch the full credits (not the one after the "boss" fight, but the one after you save Elika). Apparently there is a glitch that has not been fixed. I just did this and can confirm that it works - I must have died way over 100 times (lost count mid way but was very close to 100 saves) and had 600ish Light Seeds.

Watched the credits and for my surprise: Achievement Unlocked!!!

It's actually not a glitch. Apparently Ubisoft made it such that the latest Title Update (patch) unlocks the achievements "Be Gentle with Her" and "Speed Demon" even if you exceed the required time/numbers. If you actually met the requirement, the achievement will unlock after saving Elika. If you didn't, the achievements unlock after the final end credits.

Gotta wonder why they patched it that way. Maybe they thought it was too hard or something.
