I'm gonna be like 'The Pants Party' and say that NO ONE can repost this on any other site. x360a FTW!

Using this guide and playing the game with undivided attention you can beat every boss except the second form of Bone Cleaver on King Mode without losing any health.

BONE CLEAVER (First Form):

Stage One:

When you first enter the arena you'll see a cut-scene. Once the scene is over the 'Cleav will open gates on the left and right of you. White-shirted pirates come out of these gates. You can do anything you want with these guys, (it's a good time to Master your parry kills!) but the easiest thing to do with them is just toss them onto the spikes on the wall right below Bone Cleaver. After all of the white-shirted pirates are finished the 'Cleav will send brown-shirted pirates your way, throw them on the spikes as well. Eventually some Captains will start coming your way along with the brown-shirted pirates. You will also have to start watching out for the archer's explosive arrows. The best way to avoid the arrows and still get your kills without losing health is to move to the bottom-right side of the screen. On the wall to your right are some more spikes to finish up the pirates with. Take your time and kill the Captains the same way you have been doing all game long. Eventually Bone Cleaver will run out of reinforcements and he'll drop down to battle you.

Stage Two:

Bone Cleavers has four different moves he can perform on you.

1) He yells at his archers to shoot at you, the archers shoot in the same exact spot every time. Your best bet to avoid them is to run to the bottom of the screen where the explosives can't hit you.

2) He swings his ax at you four times. Each attack is a block breaker, meaning that if he connects with the first one, unless you're lucky and roll out of the way then you are going to get hit with the other three attacks. However if he misses with all four hits you have valuable time to run up on him and attack him with a three strong hit combo.

3) He does a little blockable poke-check move where he swings his ax twice. I don't even acknowledge this move with a counterattack I just stand back and wait for his next move.

4) His earthquake attack where he jumps up and lands ax-first on the ground. The way to counter this is to jump a little before he lands to avoid his attack. Once he lands and you land you can run up and attack him.

Now the best way to kill the Bone Cleaver is to circle the arena far enough back where he can't attack you, but close enough to aggravate him into attacking you. If you see him go into move 2 roll back a little and let him do his dance, then run in and attack him the roll back out and keep circling. If you see him go into move 4 wait until he lands and you land then attack him. For his other two moves I just let him stand around and look like an idiot. This battle just takes a lot of time so have some patience.

SAND DRAGON:

Stage One:

After you regain control of Conan after the cut-scene, roll back and towards the left of the camera. In this spot the Dragon can't even hit you. Now just wait for him to snap his head at you a couple times. When he's finished attacking run in and hit him twice with a strong-attack then roll back into your corner. Eventually the Dragon drop's his head to the ground, now you need to run up and a button sequence will happen.

You'll land on top of a building, run along the roofs carefully jumping from rooftop to rooftop to stage two.

Stage Two:

Once you're on the roof for this battle you need to stand as far back on the roof as you can inbetween the two black gates. Here the Dragon will show you his two new moves which are:

1) He rears his head back and a button prompting you to press 'B' will appear, if you press 'B' at the right time Conan will stab the Dragon's tongue then jump on the beast's face and use his ear to slam his head onto the roof. However if you miss the prompt then the Dragon will stick his tongue out across the entire rooftop, the way to avoid it is to jump.

2) He starts to emit fire from his nose then sticks his head in the air then slams down on the roof blowing fire across the rooftop. To avoid this just jump over the fire once it comes your way. If you jump over the fire towards the Dragon you can get some strong-hit combos on him.

He also has his typical snapping action that is easily avoidable.

To win this battle stand far enough back and wait for him to attack, then roll in, hit him twice with your strong attacks then roll back out. When you have depleted his health, he'll drop his head and another button prompt will happen.

You'll land inside a building where some Stygian's are waiting to attack you. If you need health you can kill these guys and break the two huge vases on either side of the hall. If you don't need any health just run all the way down the hall and wait beside the brown wooden panels on the far left. The Dragon will stick his head into every window in this building once you're at the end of the hall, killing any left over enemies. Once the Dragon sticks his head into the last window some of the brown panels will fall and give you a way out. Jump up the boards until you're outside, here just run down the ledges onto the next roof. Now block and wait for the Dragon.

Stage Three:

The very fist move the Dragon has for you here is a new one where he shoots spikes across the rooftop. You can easily block these spikes. The other move he has is a pain! It is a radial attack where the Dragon lifts his head, then pounds the roof emitting a shockwave. However, unlike most shockwaves, if you are anywhere near where he attacks you will be hit, even jumping will not save you. The only way to avoid this is to wait on the far side of the left or right of the roof, then right as he goes to pound the roof roll to the opposite side of where he's going. Now the trick about this move is that sometimes he'll attack in a spot where you aren't at. DON'T ROLL INTO HIS ATTACK!

The way to win this stage is pretty simple though. If you stand at the front, left corner of the roof the Dragon will do his snapping attack unable to do any damage to you because of the spot you're in. Unload with strong-attacks and just be wary of his radial move. Once you have beaten him here a cutscene will happen.

Once you regain control of Conan you'll need to jump up the small ledges on the side of the huge pillar. As you move up (four jumps) you'll see a treasure chest on the ledge to your left, grab it if you need it, and then jump across to the ledge on the right. (The easiest way to make this jump is to jump and at the peak of your jump press 'X' twice, it'll act like a hover move giving you time to make it across) Now continue around the pillar, carefully jumping from ledge to ledge, avoiding the camera trap that tries to make you fall off! Continue up the pillar until you are at the very top of it. Once you're on the rooftop run to your right and QUICKLY destroy the brown boards in front of another pillar, then run all the way to the left and wait for the Dragon

Stage Four:

The Dragon has one new move here where he whips his tongue across the entire rooftop. If you are on the very far left of the roof you can easily block this attack. He also has his fire move (move 2 from stage 2) and his usual snapping attack. To beat him easily just stay to the left of him, block his tongue, jump his fire, avoid his snaps and just do the double-strong attack when you see the opening after his snaps. You can get some attacks on him after his fire move too, but I wouldn't try to attack him after his tongue swipe, if you do he can easily get some free hits on you.

The Dragon takes less hits to defeat in this stage because this stage also tasks you with a few button prompts here's how this battle plays out. Defeat the Dragon the first time, now run over to the pillar you broke the boards in front of and quickly press 'RB' until the sword drops. Now head back to the left of this roof and defeat the Dragon again. Now go to the crane and press 'RB' and start spinning the Right Stick clockwise to lift a boulder, once the boulder is completely up (keep spinning the stick even if the Dragon is ready to fight, he'll wait it seems). Now defeat the Dragon again, once he falls run back to the crane, press 'RB' and spin the stick again to pull the boulder back, once the boulder is all the way back you win!

ELEPHANT GOD:

Stage One:

When this fight begins go stand right in front of the boss. Now the Elephant has a few moves you should be careful of

1) He rears up on his hind legs then does a ground pound causing rocks to fall. When he lands you should jump, you can get a few counter-attacks on him

2) A blue flame emits from him, to avoid it just roll out of its way

3) He swings his head from one side to the other side. He does this move slow enough that you can do one of two things. You can roll in the direction he swings, or you can jump high enough to dodge both tusks. Either way, as long as you dodge him you have a ton of time to swing on him.

Now just attack the Elephant until his eyes glow red, now run to either side of the arena and a passage will open allowing you to continue over to a pillar (the right hand side has a skull statue you can break for health). Wait beside the pillar and the Elephant will do his head swing move, jump his attack and he will slam into the pillar. Now jump onto the Elephant, then on top of the pillar. Once you're on the pillar cut the glowing chain. Now repeat everything until you can cut the chain on top of the other pillar killing the first Elephant form.

Stage Two:

(This is where being a x360a member pays off! I don't know how gave the tip but it truly works, good looking out whoever you are!)

As soon as you are in control of Conan go to the very far left and break the skull statue that's the closest to the Elephant God (the one in front of the mud) and just hide out here. The Elephant will attack you but can't hit you no matter what he does. So, just wait for him to lay his head on the ground and attack him, and then run back to your hiding spot. Once he runs out of energy a button prompt will happen on his left tusk (your right). Now repeat for the other tusk then finally just kill the Elephant off one last time.

CHIMERA:

(By Crom this is the most boring/easy boss fight ever!)

Stage One:

The Chimera only has three moves; the third move she only uses on the second face-to-face part so learning her moves should be pretty easy

1) A four hit combo ending with a unblockable hit. At the end of this attack she bows down giving you time to attack her

2) A blockbreaker attack where she holds her wand in the air for a second then slams it down. This move can even be parried if you are quick enough and it will hurt her a lot if you do it

Aside from using the parry attack the easiest way to defeat her is to run to either the left or the right of the arena and find the ax rack. Pick up two axes so you have a back up then go hang around the boss. When she does her 4 hit attack roll away from her then when she's finished throw an ax into her head. Go and pick your ax up and wait until she attacks again. You can easily kill her without losing any health as long as you are super patient.

Stage Two:

The Snake Queen goes and hides out in her Cobra Throne and reanimates the soldiers you killed before facing her. If you have enough magic bars (don't that sound good? man I'm hungry!) to be able to use the Rain of Fire twice now would be a good time to set one off. As the rocks fall go and hide under the left or right of the throne. The Chimera can't hit you from here so take your time and finish off any stragglers.

Stage Three is the same as Stage One except the Queen as a move where she strikes the ground with her wand causing little red balls to spread out across the floor. You can easily hop over this shockwave and throw another ax. Kill her again!

Stage Four is the same as Stage Two except there are more dead soldiers; use another Rain of Fire spell here. The only reason this part may be hard is because there is no where to go to get away from the Queen's fireballs. So after using the Rain of Fire spell quickly mop up the rest of the enemies.

Stage Five:

Once the Queen is on the floor, and the floor is covered in muck, she'll only have one attack. She'll send a shockwave your way that you have to jump over. You need to reach the Queen to prompt a button sequence in order to kill her. To get to her use the debris on the left side of the arena and just run/jump as fast as you can to her. Be extremely careful during the button sequence or else she'll toss you off of her. You should only have to do the button sequence ONCE!

GIANT SQUID:

Stage One:

When the battle begins go and hid out directly behind the Mast in the center of the ship. The squid won't be able to attack you no matter what here. Let the Squid drop his flippers(?) beside you and quickly cut each flipper off until you have ALMOST depleted this version's health. When you have one last attack to go, do it quickly then roll in front of the mast. The squid will attach himself to it and you will have to quickly use strong attacks on him to get him to let go.

Stage Two:

Now is where your useless A.I. buddies come into play! The Squid will reach out and wrap one of your crew up tight. If you let the Squid wrap him up to long then your crewmate will become an enemy in the form of an Oil Man! (Now is where you can get your Death Rain and Grapple Kills achievements!) The Squid won't attack you this whole stage so just focus on cutting him up when he goes for your crewmates. Again when you only have one last attack to go make sure you're by the mast, do your attack and roll close enough to damage the Squid the second you get a chance to.

Stage Three:

Now the Squid is a little faster and uses both of his attacks. Again, do NOT kill him unless you are in a PERFECT spot to destroy his tentacle because when he attaches himself this time the ship practically gives it so you have to be ultra-quick. If you aren't quick enough the Squid will pull your ship under and you'll have to do every stage up until now again.

Stage Four:

Now the Squid is lying on your ship! He only has one attack that matters being his spray attack. He'll go from left to right every time he uses this attack. So to beat him here just hang out on the left side of the ship, let him do his spray, then run in and use some strong-attacks on him then roll back to safety. The only thing that makes this battle annoying are the Oil Men being is how there is no lock on feature Conan sometimes thinks it's more important to attack the fodder than the real enemy! Dummy!

BONE CLEAVER (Form Deuce):

Stage One:

Quickly run up to the lion, put him in a Stone Prison and shatter him. Hopefully you won't lose any energy in doing so. Just a quick note here...Bone Cleaver is the hardest boss in the game, Ninja Gaiden hard, Lost Planet hard even no part of this battle is even remotely fun. Don't let him attack you once with his weapon or you might as well let him hit you again. Cheap! Anyways here's how you beat him. His attacks in sword form are:

1) He'll throw bolas at you; the only way to avoid them is to roll to the left or right of the path they are flying. If you roll towards them they'll catch you, if you don't roll quick enough they'll catch you. If they do catch you quickly press 'B' or else the 'Cleav will walk up to you and cut your head off! However, if you dodge the bolas you can roll towards the 'Cleav and get a few hits on him.

2) He emits a shockwave by crushing his sword to the ground. You can easily hop over the wave and if you jump towards Bone Cleaver you can get a couple attacks off on him

3) 3-hit combo. The first one is blockable, the second is a blockbreaker and third is unblockable. If you get hit with the unblockable one you're done so MOVE! It's to stay away from the first two, then roll towards Bone Cleaver during the unblockable one. You can roll under his blade and get a few hits on him.

4) His Kick move, nothing fancy here, he just kicks you and stuns you. However right after he kicks you he will try to swipe at you if he connects, to avoid this quickly roll to the right, then behind him. If you time it right you can get a few hits off here too.

5) An unblockable uppercut. I've only ever noticed this move when I screw up and roll towards the side of him that's holding his blade. This move is just a free attack for him.

Now the only tips I can give you here are to be patient, you're only going to be able to get a few hits off at a time. You should always be far enough away to never be hit by him but close enough to aggravate him into attacking you. Once he goes into any attack animation follow the tips I've listed in the move set above. One thing that you can do, if you are good/brave is to constantly roll around the side of Bone Cleaver where he isn't hold his sword (see move 5 for the reason why). If you are good at rolling you can get him out of place a ton of times. Good luck! Try to get kicked. Evade the Bolas!

Stage Two:

Bone Cleaver throws his sword away and grabs his ball and chain (weapon, not woman).

1) Another form of shockwave where he winds his ax up then smashes the ground with it. If you are on the ground when he smashes down you lose half of your life bar! So be sure to jump right before he connects. Don't jump anywhere near his weapon though because the hit detection during this part makes it seem like his weapon is a hundred feet longer then it really is! Once you jump over his shockwave you can run in a get a few attacks in

2) The same kick move as before, which still makes you see blue stars

3) He flicks his ball and chain at you; this move is unblockable and takes off a lot of health also. He always uses this move after he kicks you.

To win this stage you have to stay on your toes. Be sure to jump the shockwave and attack him. Once you attack him he will usually get a quick big boot in, Once you're no longer dizzy roll away from him and he'll do his flick move, then roll back in and get a quick attack on him again, then roll back out. Repeat this until he dies. If you need health there are jars on both sides of the arena.

GRAVEN:

During the fist to fist combat part:

You should NEVER have to press LT, just roll a lot. You'll learn his attacks. He takes forever to set any of his moves up. The thing to keep in mind is that right after he attacks run in and press Y ONCE, hit him only once, because if you hit him twice he'll do his under the ground crap and you'll lose half of your energy bar. The only time I could safely get more than one hit on him was after he set his under-the-ground move up, jump over his spikes directly at him (good luck thanks to the camera) then pound him with Y twice. After every attack you make quickly roll back away from him and wait until he attacks again. Then run back at him. Repeat times a million

During the tentacles part:

Press the RB to initiate the wheel, and then press RB again to let off. Quickly throw up a Void and take off running around the circle in the same way that Graven is spinning. Jump when you have to to avoid his tentacles of course. By the time you make it back around to the wheel Graven will have dropped his attack. If the Void helped you any then have a go at the wheel again. If you don't have the Armor Power Cheat enabled you should be good to go anyways because the Mud Men should be on the opposite side of Graven. Just do ONE turn of it, NEVER let Conan go into the press 'Y' animation! Then run another lap. Repeat until the sucker's dead.

Using this method the only parts you'll have to worry about are the friggin 'press the certain button prompts' and the nice 3d camera for a 2d fight on a f'n circle! JESUS they didn't have any testers for this game.

The one thing you might want to have set up prior to this whole fight is to have your Backbreaker and Piledriver maxed out. Both will give you health every time you kill a Mud Man with them.

A very easy way to defeat BONE CLEAVER (Form Deuce) is to use the duel wields Black River Rage ( X X Y Y ).

He will defend from the first two X attacks but drops his guard as the Y attacks begin. So just hit, roll away & redo.

Great guide, thanks!

I found the Black River Rage wasn't working once he pulls out his ball & chain; he often didn't defend on the first two attacks, but instead nailed me with a big hit during the Y attacks. The move I finally beat him on King with was, surprisingly, Giant's Crush (Hold Y with 2-handed). He usually doesn't start block it, and you can time it so he's not doing an attack move at the time, so you don't usually take damage. Plus, it has a nice shockwave effect so it hits him from a sizeable distance away - more than you might expect.

I don't understad all of this bone cleaver fuss...he was a joke compared to the final boss who is by far the most frusterating video game experience I have ever dealt with. This boss made the whole game unplayable and I give this game a 0 out of 10!

Graven is a bit harder I reckon, than is mentioned - for a start there are more than 2 rounds (the earlier two being repeated) and they get progressively harder. The button sequences you need to be REALLY careful in - I cant even watch the cutscenes because i'm concentrating on pushing the right buttons. I just killed Graven and the button sequence kicked in - I had just done a double strike but the second strike registered as an incorrect button during the button sequence :/

For me though, the most terrible part is the very final sequence (I guess) where you have no powers left to use, fighting a bunch of mud men on your own. How the hell are you supposed to do it with no cheats?

Agreed. This is the most annoying thing in this fight: if you're not careful to stop pushing buttons the moment his life bar reaches 0, you're toasted. And even more insulting, he hits you to take away some of your life and he gets half of his life back. A bit unfair I would say. The graven fight gave me trouble even on easy because of this. That's why, most of the time, I stay away, let him do his combos and then roll in to hit twice and roll away again. It takes time but then, it takes even more time if you rush and miss the button sequence...

In the second boss battle with Bone Cleaver when he is switching from his sword to his mace if you can throw a jug of water at him and do a good forth of health worth of damage if you time it perfectly. Also you can pick up a different object and just stay far enough away for him to throw the blue thing at you. When he does this quickly throw your object right as you see him begin the animation. Do this until you run out of objects. Then, once out of objects, pick up 2 axes and chuck one after the other. He will block the first one and take damage from the second. If you use this strategy then you can avoid being hit all together.

At the second time you face the Bone Cleaver i found that it was actually not as hard when you know the attacks well. Especially the second stage. I only used XY, when he blocks the attack, roll back and wait for his "counter" attack. Then come in and hit him with XY and roll back. Sometimes he uses his ground slam, but that one is easily jumped. He actually didnt hit me once after i knew the attacks. In his first stage the combo XXYY works wonders. Thnx for that tip :)

Currently beat the game on King and I got to say Conan's Two-Handed's Captain's Rush(X Hold) is also quite effective during Bone Cleaver's second battle. Simply Charge the move at a distance in which the Sword tip hits and then do a quick roll to safety. He never blocks it and most of the time it will hurt him to make the roll easier. Rinse and repeat and he's done. It works on both stages and it's more simple during the second one. Simply do it and then lure him to kick you and punish him with it, after his kick he may do his simple ChainBall attack(Most of the time) and punish him again. At first it may seem difficult but with a little time and practice you'll get it right.

Graven can be pain in the ass on last part of 3-step fight with him, when he get his 2-blockbreakers, 1-unblockable combo, but he has long preparing animations, so you can predict it and just roll away(actually,i manage to do mithra's hand on him right after that).

I did him in pretty easily with twohanded sword - 4Y combo works best. You just go right at him tease him with uppercut after his unblockables and wait when he do his only blockable(blue) sequence - he does that after he blocks couple of your light (X) attacks. Block that and do 4Y combo - it forces him to roll away after second hit (or do his uber-combo,so be ready to roll or hack more) but still get hacked because of your long reach. This moment also works on previous steps, just roll or jump from his other attacks(you can even jump his unblockables if you skilled enough, just stick close to him)

Last part with tentacles is also easy - you dont have to fight mudmen, just void the first four that appears around the gear, then run a circle around Graven. By the time you get to gear again, his tentacles will stop and mudmen will be chasing your at the opposite side of arena.

The second Bone Cleaver battle is starting to frustrate me. I don't know hy they make boss battles like this. It reminds me of Kaxdan Paratus in Star Wars, TFU.

I've never been lucky enough to dodge the rope thing he ties you up with. The only magic power that does any damage is the Reign of Fire, but even that's minimal. This is really frustrating.
