TemporalWizard
Overview: Estimated achievement difficulty: 2/10 Offline: 20 [1000:gsicon:] Online: 0 [0:gsicon:] Approximate time: 5 Hours Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1+ playthroughs Missable achievements: No [Level Select] Does difficulty affect Achievements: No Difficulties Unobtainable/glitched Achievements: No Extra equipment needed?: No Is there DLC? No Introduction LocoCycle is an action game by Twisted Pixel where you play as a motorcycle who is dragging her mechanic behind her. IRIS (the motorcycle) wants to go to the Freedom Rally, but Big Arms, the company that payed to manufacture her is trying to get her back or destroy her. Upgrade Note I would upgrade in this order: Melee Turbo Health Weapons Don't be afraid to use all your points after every level, doing so will allow you to do better in later levels, which will allow you to earn more points per level. The reason I recommend upgrading in this order is because you will be able to fully upgrade your melee ability before reaching level 5-2 and will be able to get "Champion Streaker" without having to replay the level and not having your weapons upgraded doesn't seem to affect your ranking. Step 1 Story Just play through all the levels. You don't have to worry about getting A Ranks on the levels. It is not required for any of the achievements and I'm not sure that it is even possible on a few of them until IRIS is upgraded. However, the better you do the more points you will have for upgrades and extras and the less replay you will have to do. This will get you most of the achievements in the game. Step 2 Garage Now from the main menu go to the garage. You should have enough points to purchase everything here so do that now. This will get you "Big Movie Watchings", "All Game Secrets Revealed", and "Behind the Scenes Bonus DVD". If you don't have enough points to purchase everything go back to a level you did poorly on the first time through and with IRIS fully upgraded you should be able to do much better. The reason you want to replay a level you did poorly in is because of the way points work. When you replay a level you get the points you earned minus the points you earned previously so if you play a level you did well on you will get very little out of it. Step 3 Mop-Up Finish off any of the random achievements you have left. Most of these can be done on level 1-1. "Pablo Thanks You"can be easily done on level 1-3. "Champion Streaker"will need to be done on level 5-2. Conclusion LocoCycle is an interesting and decently fun game. You will have another 1000 before you know it! upindat
Dude I had nowhere near the points left to buy all the stuff in the stores on my first playtru. Now I'm replaying levels and what's sucks is you only get credit for when you do better than the last time. Say you earned 80k first run and 90k second time you only get 10k!!? Really regretting buying this now. Did I miss something???
StayonTarget
Decent guide, could use a little more detail however. Also I just 100%'d it in 6 1/2 hours. Really regretting buying this now. Did I miss something??? Replay a level you died on with a fully upgraded character. Replayed 3-1 (which I died multiple times) and got 29,000 credits. You'll still need about 50k total at the end of the game but if you die, your total score gets lowered tremendously. It also appears that the credits earned are however many you improved your previous score by. Say you got 80,000 your first run and 90,000 on the next you'll get 10,000 credits. This will get you the most points for your time. Thank you for your feedback. I will take it under advisement. I completed it this weekend. For some reason I finished the game, bought all upgrades and still needed money to buy all the film stuff and most of the game unlocks. Replayed about 6 levels and had enough to complete everything. I really ended up hating this game when I was done. Easy completion, fun for a few levels, but overall very disappointed. Thanks for the guide. Everything was spot on. I really hate the way on the replay levels you only get a pay out greater than what you did on the previous replay. The cut scenes were IMO so fucking boring and stupid. I think the reviews of this game were honest. If you are a Gamerscore whore this is the game for you on the one. Otherwise save your 20 bucks and pick it up when it is one sale. sanger
Great guide! I've got a lot of games to play for now, but will keep this game in mind. I will probably wait for a sale on it, and then use this guide.
Cully
Great guide... This game is very straight forward. I just got 1k on it. For Big Oil Never Had a Chance, the key is to carefullly aim the rockets that come out of your car when fully upgraded. Those do huge damage and will take out stuff much quicker than your guns can (but obviously use your guns and boosts also). and 5-2 is the best to get the 1k combo... I mucked up the first time and stopped at 850 combo. I replayed the level and got 1895 so it's not very difficult. The way I melee is by bashing X as normal, then throw in odd Y attacks which send pablo spinning around to hit the other enemies. What this pablo throw does apart from increasing your combo is he stops a lot of guys coming up with the orange target, saving you from losing your combo. I also hit A every now and again in case there's a guy that needs to be countered off the screen. Not only will A counter, but it also jumps from one guy to another, so it gives you a hit if there's nothing to counter. Fun (and strange) game... I think it's worth the money, but yeah.. don't expect an AA title. It's a couple of hours long, is kinda fun, and isn't difficult... Plus the story is a bit crazy (with horrible acting). Lavindathar
Just got my 1000g, only took five or six hours. Have to say. One of the worst games I've played in a very long time. Incredibly disappointed with Twisted Pixel
Fueled By RC
No way this takes 7 hours. Maybe 5 hours.
Lavindathar
No way this takes 7 hours. Maybe 5 hours. I guess it could, depends on how you do score wise. If you die a lot, you'd have to replay a lot of levels to get fully upgraded.
TemporalWizard
I did put the time a little bit on the high side, just because there are a couple of achievements I could see that might take some people a while, but if the concensus is that it needs to be lowered then I have no problem doing so. Ace Attorney 86
Thanks for doing a great job on the guide. Just wanted to add that getting no damage on 1-3 can be helped by just spamming A when you need to counter Spike's missiles back. You'll always be successful this way when you need to counter. I think the difficulty and time you listed are accurate. I enjoyed this game. The sense of humor it has will either hit you just right or fall very flat. Not a AAA game by any means but I think it's worth $20 and a lazy afternoon or two.
