Rowan88
Hi, I have my Xbox 360 connected via HDMI to my 32" LG tv at the moment. I wanted to use it on my Acer 22" LED Monitor without losing any quality. I tried the Xbox VGA cable there but after playing Diablo III for a while I did notice the quality was a lot lower (even on 1920x1080 resolution). I noticed you can get HDMI to DVI connectors and was wondering if I got one of these and connected it to the back of my monitor (which only has VGA and DVI) then used a straight HDMI cable from that to my Xbox would I get the same quality that I get just now from the tv? All advice is apprecited, Thanks
Hybridchld
You probably wont get the same quality but using DVI you will get much better quality than VGA. The chances are that the panel in the monitor isnt as good as the one in the TV so it will probably never look as good but using the DVI connection will give you the maximum quality the monitor is capable of. asocialreject
DVI is basically HDMI without audio or HDCP support. So you won't be able to use anything that needs HDCP (like Netflix, etc) but for gaming you should be fine. The picture will be just as clear because it is the same (I don't know how to phrase it) "video signal" as HDMI.
