El Nino 808
First off great guide.. I completed the entire game got every single achievement apart from the DLC I got all the gamer points for the game fine the achievements unlocked on my screen but when I go to my game guide it only says 48 out of 50 achievements and is only giving me a score of 940 it also doesnt show in my completed games list. All my friends say it says 1000 in my list.. Does anyone else have this problem? Its quite annoying after I beat the game for it not to show. This is a two part misseable achievement. In order to get this, you must use the juke box twice in the game, at two totally differing sections. The first time you will enter the diner is early on in Episode 1, after Alan and Alice get off the Ferry. The Andersens will be be sat near the juke box and after some banter, a kick of the machine and some more banter, the music will play. The second part of this achievement is much later on in the game, episode 5 to be precise, when you have to traipse through Bright Falls at night with the Sheriff. After opening the gate and reaching the main road with the possessed float. Head left and before you head off that road, there is a diner on the left hand side of the road. In the corner. It's the same diner as in episode 1. Simply go in, switch it on and the achievements should unlock. No idea as to whether you can get it in two different playthroughs, that currently is unknown, so make sure you grab it the first time through. I think I can clarify a few things regarding this achievement (if no one else already has). For me, the achievement didn't unlock in the first playthrough, but it unlocked my second playthrough in episode 1. So yes, the achievement tracks itself over several playthroughs. I now also know why it didn't unlock in my first playthrough. You have to use the jukebox AFTER you had your encounter with lady in black, NOT BEFORE. I found that info in the collectible guide but it is missing here. @Webb: Great guide as always, much appreciated! :-) Would you mind updating it with this new info? PESFan79
Sure we can all come to these forums to get the information, but I was just surprised to see there is no Achievement Guide in X360A's Alan Wake entry. It's always nice to read a strategy plan, route and hints in one clean page. Anyway, thanks for the info guys! It really helped me to get the Achivements! SN4K3E4T3R
Thanks for the guide. First playtrough i did was on normal and just following the storyline to get the full experience, second playtrough i did was on nightmare following the collectible guide and trying for random achievements. I have a full 1000g now and i can't wait for the DLC to come out and earn me some extra 250g.

Grimfel
I know the flare gun achievement says TAKEN but any chance the birds count? Specifically at the end of chapter 2? I figure that would be a pretty good place to farm. @Webb - Awesome guide. Slowly working my way through it. Thanks mate!

Two things: For the achievements to show I would recommend clearing your cache and recovering your gamertag. That seems to help. I personally and thankfully have never had that issue, but that is what I have read people saying. As for it not showing on your completed games list. Due to there being DLC it won't show unless you do all the DLC as well. They don't recognize a game as complete unless you have every available achievement. Load up the first chapter in episode 6 to tackle this badboy. You essentially have to flare and flashbang it all the way... NO flaregun, but do use the car and its headlights where possible. Death is pretty much a given as well, so don't worry about that. So in short, use no weapon that requires you to pull the right trigger. So... Am I aloud to die or not to get this achievement? Grimfel
So... Am I aloud to die or not to get this achievement? He says, and I quote, "Dying is pretty much a given, so don't worry about that". Pretty straight forward, no?
jamie1000013
Great guide Webb! I have a tip for the Collateral Carnage achievement Light from safe houses count towards this I got about 10 kills alone from this. Just lead taken into the light. Also on the stage fight level they walk into the spot light. Edited September 5, 2010 by jamie1000013
