onemorechanc
I don't know how many people saw this, but it was buried in the description of the game: EA MAY RETIRE ONLINE FEATURES AFTER 30 DAYS NOTICE POSTED ON http://www.ea.com OR 30 DAYS AFTER THE LAST DAY OF THE 2008- 2009 NHL SEASON. (from here http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-CA/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258410975/?p=1&of=0&sb=1#offers) So, 30 days after Lord Stanley's cup has been claimed by the winning team, online play for this game is potentially dead in the water. Way to go EA, another title to add to your winning record of supporting online features in the games that you publish.
JRJ3 x360a
Ummm doesn't really bother me, but i can see how it would effect die hard nhl fans. but isn't that what NHL 09 is for ? Anyway i congratulate EA on a fun action packed game. I LOVE this game !!!!
onemorechanc
OK, I probably misunderstood the text in the description. When I first read it I thought "online features" meant online play (i.e. ranked matches, etc.). After another look, it probably means other stuff. I just hope it doesn't bork achievements (like they have done in the past).
Tron
its just a legal disclaimer....dont take it too serious.
radiant light
besides there is only two achievements that require online and neither one require any skill just two extra controllers and 10 minutes.
Sniper07LHS
its just the point that they knew that the online was probably going to be shut off so they still made achievements for it anyway

LordQuas431
"Way to go EA, another title to add to your winning record of supporting online features in the games that you publish." ...Oh you mean like Rock Band which has weekly updates of songs and new competitions almost daily? Or Burnout Paradise which is a completely different game now from when it was first released?

Harmonix is releasing it, not EA.

Rodni Demental
I think it's the EA sports games we need to be worried about. And will always have to be worried about it would seem (as far as online servers and online achievements). I think this technically qualifies as an EA sports game so in the next 2 years you probably won't be able to get 200.
FonduYouLoveMe
I am pretty sure that all EA sports games have something similar to this, whether it is 30 days for all, I am not sure, but I would bet on the fact that shutting down the sales would kill alot of sales, and they would not do it. But, who knows, it is EA
Medz
Good game... Now I would like to see them bring back some NBA JAM! Whoop Whoop!

But, who knows, it is EA ya...i was pissed when EA completely removed support for Live Score and Live Draft Tracker. I got my 200 in Live Score Tracker and bought the Live Draft Tracker and a week after i bought it, they removed support. and this is what i want to do to EA for this and for NBA LIVE 06:
Dark Umbra
I already have all the achievements, but the online multiplayer is fun. Damn you EA, for planning to remove it.

UCB Disco
its still playable online. i think we are good for at least a year. if a lot of people keep playing it it will stay on for longer. Even if they do take it off, I actually enjoy playing against my friend locally more than I do online. I love this game!
MetallicaDan
I finally got my last achievement for this one (play with 3 people locally in an online match). I used my second controller and my Guitar Hero guitar. I actually competed pretty good against the other team until one guy just kept running my goalie and the other one shooting in the empty net. They should have made the goalies invulnerable I think. Edited July 18, 2009 by MetallicaDan
