Akuza
So I found this... http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b373/bhk1/80febbd4e4579f3b31909533762adfa9_zps1b626584.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b373/bhk1/bf929da940419eb6cb923edda933f7b5_zps522ec57d.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b373/bhk1/a097fbd820a9c9cbcfa2448e949f25f6_zps536684cc.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b373/bhk1/1ce4fed6e48f52fadfe8a52e9d26b133_zpsa47ee7fb.jpg And I was wondering if anyone had any info on it? Found it at a carboot or "flea market" never seen them, presumed it was something that was used at an event of some sort? But it has an Ethernet cable in it too... So it's odd. SicklyPlague
Judging by the metal cord, im guessing its a demo piece of some description. Perhaps a demo piece a game store like GAME was given back in the day to promote xbl? I actually have no idea if they did or not, it just looks like that kind of demo piece. EmporerDragon
It's a headphone for the old 360 retail kiosks. You typically only saw them at conventions or the like rather than at the stores themselves, primarily because of theft concerns.
Slaughter.
That headset is dope! Great find! The metal cord looks like, a Plague said, a demo piece for a game used to promote XBL?
Fritz White
That looks a lot more durable than the stock headsets. I've broken about 20 of those over the years.

I thought as much, still an interesting piece and with the new xbox attachment I should be able to use it with xbox one controller

Felonious Monk
I thought as much, still an interesting piece and with the new xbox attachment I should be able to use it with xbox one controller An ethernet cable just in the box or is there a place to plug it in on the headset? Because if the latter the reason could be part of a security system for when this was used at an event or on a kiosk of some sort. Controllers secured through the mounts we already know and love, but you can't secure a headset the way you can a controller, so have it rigged up to a hub to where if there's a power break an alarm sounds and you can turn your attention right to the seat where the headset is at. DAT CABLE THO Crazy security wrap. Like you'd find in a phonebooth. What'd you pay for it (if you don't mind saying if you're not going to resell it here or whatever)? It's just a generic Ethernet cable it seems there's nowhere for it to go into the headset or the connector itself so it's good to go! And I paid £5 that's it, only thing I found all day! I've tested it, it works but the sound it puts through headphone side is slightly quiet and sadly there are no volume controls! But still apparently the voice it puts through its clear as a whistle! Felonious Monk
And I paid £5 that's it, only thing I found all day! Can't go wrong with that. It's what people pay for a generic or used 360 basic headset. I've tested it, it works but the sound it puts through headphone side is slightly quiet and sadly there are no volume controls! But still apparently the voice it puts through its clear as a whistle! That's a drag. No mute switch either, I'd guess. Maybe take a small section of 2.5mm F-M to bridge the headset to the controller: http://www.avalive.com/pimages/pimage_170234.jpg Or if you ever got a Rock Band guitar it came with one of those as a headset adapter for the old headsets. And hack the guts of an old headset for its volume and mute control to wire into that extension so that you don't have to alter/damage the actual headset in any way and leave it untampered with in case it's possibly worth something. http://www.keygoods.com/step1.jpg Cool find, though, a reverse image search didn't pull up anything around where someone had the same lying around, so who knows how many of those are out in the wild. The reason for that is because the volume controls were on the kiosk itself.
