Introduction

Angry Birds Star Wars is just like every other Angry Birds game on the market. You use a slingshot to fire the birds across the level with the goal of defeating the well-fortified pigs. The game does differentiate itself from the rest as the birds you control are actually modeled after Star Wars characters. You can launch Luke Skywalker across the level with his light saber in hand, or send Chewbacca flying as a battering ram, plus many more! The game's 80 levels loosely follow the plot line of Episode IV. The Star Wars theme actually meshes well with the Angry Birds franchise and this may just be the best installment yet. Currently the game is listed at $0.99 in the Windows Phone Store.

Step 1: Play through all 80 levels

Play through all 80 levels of the game. Do not worry about getting stars on the levels as there are no achievements directly related to them. Many of the miscellaneous achievements will unlock without trying. If you are having trouble with a particular level, see THIS link for some video walkthroughs of the levels (remember, ignore getting stars).

Step 2: Mop-up miscellaneous achievements

After completing all levels, mop-up any of the miscellaneous achievements you may have missed.

Step 3: Grind remaining cumulative achievements

After Steps 1 and 2, you will have a few hours of grinding to do in order to earn all of the cumulative achievements.

Step 4: Leave the game running for 30 hours total

Your final task will be running your play time up to 30 hours. After completing all other achievements, you will likely be around 10 hours played, so you will need to grind about 20 hours.

Conclusion

Angry Birds Star Wars offers the easiest completion among any of the 3 currently available Angry Birds games and is arguably the best one. At just $0.99, this should be a must purchase for any Windows Phone 8 owner.

GUIDE

MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (5 for 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 5 achievements are obtained by completing one-time miscellaneous tasks within the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/+oiURw==.jpg Prominent Jedi - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Three lasers deflected with saber

This achievement is referring the to lasers shot by the Stormtrooper pigs, which are shot in bursts of three. You need to swing your light saber and hit all three in the burst, causing them to change direction. A good level to get this on early in the game is Level 1-13. Launch your bird up and to the right and try and hit all three lasers. This will take a few tries to get the timing right.

Three pigs shot with a single blaster shot

You need to hit three pigs with a single blaster shot round. Your bird shoots three rounds in a row which must hit three pigs. This is very easy to obtain on Level 2-17. Shoot your bird toward the tall pillar with a pig on top in the middle of the level. You need to line up the shot to it hits the pig on the pillar and the cluster of three in the back. This is not difficult, but may take a few tries.

Stormtrooper shot another trooper

You need to cause the red 3-round laser burst of a Stormtrooper to hit another Stormtrooper. You will most likely get this without even trying, but it can easily be obtained on Level 1-13. Aim your first bird towards the TNT so it take out the blocks supporting the shooting Stormtrooper. While he is falling, he should take out one of the other seven Stormtroopers in the level.

Stormtrooper popped with Tie Figher's wing

Tie Fighter's appear only on some of the Death Star levels. You need to defeat a Tie Fighter, which causes it to explode and its two wings to pop off. To get the achievement, you need to have one of the broken-off wings hit a Stormtrooper. This is obtainable on many levels and you will likely get it without trying. An easy level to do this on is 2-37. Shoot your first bird down the middle. Time your shot and use the lasers to blast the body of one of the circular moving Tie Fighters inside the largest gravitational field. Within a few tries, you should be able to get the one of the wings to hit one of the Stormtroopers.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/UPwfGrM=.jpg Walking Carpet - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Same turret shot Chewbacca 6 times

You need to get a single Chewbacca bird hit by 6 individual red laser shots from a turret. This is only obtainable on a few levels in the game (where there is a turret and you get to use a Chewbacca) and may only be possible in Levels 2-11 and 2-12. Both of these levels are suitable to obtain the achievement on, but it will require a little bit of luck and a few tries.

Level 2-11: Use your first Chewbacca to plow down through the area of blocks on the right down into the fire of the turret. This bird will likely disappear before you can get hit 6 times (as the debris must clear first). Fire your second bird down the same path. With a little luck, this bird can get hit 6 times if it lands in the correct orientation below. The level will end before the third bird can get hit 6 times so dont even bother.

Level 2-12: Just fire your first bird (Chewbacca) directly to the area in front of the turret. Try not to hit other blocks on the way down, but it can still be obtained if you do (sometimes it actually helps prop your bird up). With a little luck, the bird can get hit 6 times if it lands with the correct orientation.

CUMULATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS (12 for 120 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 12 achievements are obtained by surpassing certain cumulative requirements. All of your attempts of all the game's levels count towards these achievements. Unfortunately, there is no way to track your progress towards any of them. Just keep grinding until they unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/-ixiBQ==.jpg Jedi Initiate - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/+m5xbw==.jpg Jedi Master - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

2000 blocks smashed with saber

For these three achievements you need to smash a total of 2000 blocks with the light saber. The blocks need to be completely smashed, not just damaged. You will definitely need to grind this after completing all the levels. A quick level to grind these on is Level 1-11. You get four birds to attack the two structures on the level. The first bird should be shot at the middle of the small, closer tower, destroying as many of those blocks as possible. Then fire your next shot towards the upper part of the large tower (avoiding the lasers). Use the final two birds as you see fit to clean up the remains. Aim for smaller blocks and those made of ice and wood as they are easier to break. As soon as you are doing swinging your saber with the final bird, pause and restart the level. You can get 20-25 blocks with each playthrough of the level, earning around 60 blocks per minute. All 2000 should take around 30 minutes or less to grind.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/+46J-A==.jpg Force Learner - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

2000 blocks threw with force

You will definitely need to grind this achievement after completing the game. To grind this fastest, first make sure you play through the game to Level 2-26 where you will earn an upgraded Force power. Then return to Level 2-24. Use your first two Obi Wan birds to force push the top two piles of blocks. ONLY blocks that become shrouded in blue count towards this achievement. On your second shot, as soon as the blocks turn a blue color, pause and restart the level. You can get between 25-35 blocks for each attempt of the level, earning around 150 blocks per minute. All 2000 should take around 15 minutes or less to grind.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/+a+ASQ==.jpg Ultimate Laser Shooter - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

1000 blocks smashed with laser

This achievement will most likely need to be grinded after completing the game as well. As far as I can tell there are no "great" levels to boost this on, but there are two that are better than the others. In Level 1-18, you get three laser birds to shoot, but there are not that many blocks to destroy. Focus solely on hitting the wooden blocks, as the laser does not work well against the metal. Level 1-21, you only get two laser birds to shoot, but there are more and smaller blocks to destroy. Focus on hitting the wooden and ice blocks and avoid the metal ones. Personally, I find Level 1-21 a tad faster. Pause and restart the level as soon as all of your lasers are gone. You can destroy between 8-10 blocks per attempt of the level, earning around 40 blocks per minute. All 1000 should take around 25 minutes or less to grind.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/+E942g==.jpg Skilled Pilot - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

500 blocks smashed with Pilot

This achievement may or may not need to be grinded after completing the game. Destroying blocks with Pilot still intact or split in three both count towards this achievement. Pilot works best against ice blocks. Only the blocks DIRECTLY hit by Pilot count. The best level to grind this on is Level 2-1. Fire the birds below the first planet, arcing them into the ice structures. Make sure to split Pilot before making impact to increase you block count. Only two birds should be needed to destroy most of the blocks from the two ice towers. Pause and restart as soon as the you realize your second bird is not going to hit any other ice blocks. You can get between 10-15 blocks per attempt of the level, earning 50 blocks per minute. This should only take a few minutes to grind.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/+2hs1A==.jpg Magnificent Grumble - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

300 blocks smashed with Chewbacca

This achievement may or may not need to be grinded after completing the game. Only the blocks that you hit DIRECTLY with Chewbacca count towards this achievement. The best level to grind this on is Level 2-11. You get three Chewbacca birds and there is a bunch of easy-to-break ice blocks. Pause and restart the level as soon as the Chewbacca comes to a stop and isn't going to destroy any more blocks. You can get between 10-20 blocks per attempt of the level, earning around 50 blocks per minute. This grind will only take a couple of minutes at most.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/UP4+EwY=.jpg Simple Pigs and Nonsense - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

300 stormtroopers popped

You need to destroy a total of 300 Stormtroopers. You will certainly unlock this achievement while completing the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/UP-e65U=.jpg The Birds Will Be With You - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

10 levels completed with one bird

This is probably the most skillful achievement in the list, and it is still not that difficult at all. You need to complete 10 different levels, only using the first bird you are given. The first levels in the game are the easiest to do this on. See THIS link for 3-star walkthroughs to finish this achievement off with as little effort as possible. Thanks to YouTube user NextGenWalkthroughs for the great videos!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/UPp8AGw=.jpg Lack of Faith - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Level restarted 100 times

Ignore the somewhat misleading achievement description. You do not need to restart a single level 100 times, just restart 100 times total across all levels. Do not worry about this achievement. You will most likely get it before completing the game, and definitely before finishing the grinding of all other achievements.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/UPuc+P8=.jpg Pork side of the Force - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Level failed 10 times with one pig left

You simply need to fail a level with only one pig remaining. Again, this does not need to be the same level, but it can be any level. Just do this ten times. To grind this, just load up level 1-1 and fire all your birds backwards, avoiding the sole pig in the level. You must wait for the fail screen to pop-up for it to count. Click restart from the fail screen and repeat.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2530/-iQppw==.jpg Fly Bird Fly - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

5000 birds launched

This is definitely the worst of the grinding achievements and should definitely be attempted last, as all of the other grinding will contribute to this one. You need to launch a total of 5000 birds. All levels and attempts are counted. The best level for grinding this achievement is 2-40, as this is the only level with 5 birds. First zoom all the way out so the screen panning is not an issue. Just launch all of the birds backwards (to the left), off the screen. Fire the birds as fast as you can. Restart as soon as you launch the fifth bird. You can launch around 30 birds per minute. This achievement will likely take 2 to 3 hours of solid grinding after earning all of the other achievements.

PLAYTIME ACHIEVEMENTS (3 for 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 3 achievements are obtained by playing the game for the required amount of hours.

Angry Birds Star Wars played for 30 hours

These achievements requires that you play the game a cumulative total of 30 hours (consecutive 30 hours not required). After earning all other achievements, you will likely need to grind somewhere between 15 and 25 hours, depending on your Angry Birds skill and use of video guides.

You can disable your screen timeout (Settings>Lockscreen>Screen Timeout>Never) and leave the game running unattended while in a level for long periods of time with the phone plugged in. Make sure when you are done to complete the level by passing or failing to save your time. NOTE: This trick is not possible on all devices (screen timeout will be limited to 5 minutes). For those of you that cannot disable your screen timeout, you will need to grind this the old-fashioned way. Load up a level and let it sit while you do something else, making sure to tap the screen periodically before your timeout limit is reached. You could also play the game legitimately, but with such a limited amount of levels, this could be quite boring. Just be sure to complete or fail the level when you are done grinding for the time being in order to save your accumulated time. The achievements will not unlock until you complete a level.

GUIDE UPDATES:

11/18/12 - Guide created and complete.

9/22/13 - Updated the "Star Bird Addict" achievement to reflect the patch that nerfed time accumulating behind the lockscreen. Game is now much more tedious for those that can disable their screen timeout.

I'd say it takes less than 8 hours to play before the idle part. Only achievements I got left are 5000 birds and 2000 blocks with saber and I haven't played the game for 5 hours yet (at least I don't have the achievement :p)

Nice guide!

Yeah I still dont think you can do it in less than 7 hours or so. Given the best grinding methods I found. The lightsaber one is at least 30 minutes. And the bird launching one is the longest of them all. At least two hours...maybe closer to 3. So you should be coming in the ballpark of 8 though. I maybe can reduce it to 7-10 hours. Let me know. Thanks.

Oh yeah didn't think of that as so long grind. You're probably right. I'll be finishing this in January in the completion competition so cannot say anything about it before that :p

Fling 5000 birds and there is no in-game tracker. Rovio is a horrible company. I'm sure they have made millions off this stupid game and they can't improve anything. Literally no in game stats what-so-ever. They track it obviously because you unlock achievements, but don't care to show you? Games have been tracking stuff for years for fun. I don't get how this game got so popular. I dread it. I fling birds on my breaks at work and when I have to wait around for stuff. I still don't have the achievement. Don't know how close I am. I don't even know if they are counting! It's extremely dull and one of the worst grinding I have ever done in any game. Not even worth free. I regret buying it. Not even star wars can save the game.

Agreed. It definitely irks me that there is no stat tracking. Especially for the 500,000 block achievement in Space. Rovio just keeps beating a dead horse with there damn Angry Birds series.

I found for the Jedia Master Achievement, Level 1-11 worked very well if you used One bird at a time aiming for the horizontal wooden platform on the far left block. If you swing the saber just before hitting this block you can take out the entire tower almost, and even result in getting 10 blocks per go; it might have just been me, but I found this to be a quicker strategy if you swung and instantly restart, it should take no time at all.

Thanks for your great guide. But I have one question for the play time achievement.

As in my case, I am using Lumia 720, and I set the screen lock after 5 mins. But when i unlock the phone, it shows that I was pausing the l. Does it really count? As I got 5 hours achievement last night 00:00, I suppose I will get 15 hours achievement before today's noon time. However now is 2 hours afternoon, but still none is popping (for sure I finished a level as well). Can anyone verify this please? Thanks in advance.

I get the same problem on the HTC 8X, I leave it overnight and when I go back to it the game has paused itself under the lock screen and I don't have any new achievements; I should have gotten 15 hours by now.

Hey thanks for the info. That was actually what used to happen (pause under lock screen) and even though the time would be counted. It was my suspicion that the recent patches for the angry birds games fixed this exploit. Patch released in April I think. The guides may need updated. But unfortunately there is no workaround other than sitting in a level and keeping your screen from timing out.

however, if u can set it to never it will work with your phone on

True. If I knew it didn't affect the 8X I'd go for it but I wouldn't blindly risk it. They're ridiculous achievements for sure, finished everything but the 5,000 birds in just over 5 hours.

After a bit of research, screen burn in only appears to be an issue with AMOLED screens. Not saying it is impossible on other types, but it takes a very long time and would be unlikely even in that 30 hours. Not sure what the 8x has, but the 920 has LCD and I have not seen any effects from leaving it on for long times. Just turn your brightness down the whole way beforehand.

Also, a quick google shows there are literlaly no 8x reports of burn in. Other devices especially amoled screens have the issues.

At this point, everything is working fine.. except the time trick.. I've left the phone on overnight (well paused behind lock screen) and I still haven't even gotten the 5 hour achievement. I even played the good portion yesterday, did lots of grinding.. still no 5 hours.

So I'm assuming they patched that.. and your description of what to do no longer works unfortunately.

Yes thanks for reminding me about this. I know it was patched a few months ago, I just never go around to updating the AB space, AB classic, and AB star wars guides. As mentioned, you can still leave it on a level and burn out your screen hours (I joke, only would happen for AMOLED screens, which is far as I am aware is only the ATIV S, Lumia 820, 822, 821, 928. 925, and 1020). All other WP8 should be good (specifically the 920 and htc 8x)

ok just one question, what is the point of launching the 5 birds if you don't have to wait for the level to finish? why not just launch one bird on any level and pause/restart. Also if you are going to do the 5 birds on Hoth level 40, you should only have to restart less than 1,000 times.

I'm not sure about the phone version but I know for a fact on the windows 8 version I launched way more than 5,000 birds before it unlocked. I know this because I was running a macro that launched 2 birds and restared after the second bird launched and set it to repeat 2500 times. The achievement didn't unlock after that macro ran.

I wonder if the phone version has the same issue.

Not sure. Maybe it would take longer to do 5 birds at a time, but less overlal button pushes and concentration. Not sure what would be better though.

As for the 5,000 birds. I also cant really speak to that. I played this a year ago, and dont remember have any real trouble with the 5000 birds, thought it was my last one however. It may be something like a bird launch is only saved when a subsequent bird is launched. Meaning if you launch two birds, only one is counted. And if you launch 5, only 4 are counted. Speculation though. On Windows 8 I used a Macro and set it to infinite and let it go overnight and it unlocked fine for me. Didnt set it to a count like you, but your4 disc overy suggests something fishy is going on.

I just was thinking about if the time only saves once you finish the level are we sure the birds aren't the same way. Either way it's a grind one that I hope ends soon. Hopefully not a repeat of my connect 4 experience. Was reset 5 times in that game ended up well over 2500 games played

I see a few people having trouble with one or more of these achievements, so I will post what I know in case people are wondering...

Assuming this version of the game was built the same way that the Windows 8 version was, the values that the achievements are tied to are stored as Float values.

If you manage to go over the value required to get the achievement but fail to trigger the achievement you will need to delete the game and re-do the requirements. The game does not check if the values are over the achievement threshold if the threshold has already been met AND the game has saved, so continuing to play and getting more of whatever you need will not be useful.

If anybody has any questions about the achievements on this game or Angry Birds Space, ask me and I will attempt to test it for you.
