Introduction:

For those who haven't seen the movie, let me set the premise for you. Some Nazis escaped to Antartica at the end of WWII, and secretly created a space program. They somehow managed to slip out unnoticed and create a base on the dark side of the moon. Sometime in the near future, they have a massive fleet of spacecraft and plan to finish what they started and take over the world, at any cost. You play the protagonist, an unnamed US pilot who's only real interest is getting paid more money. It is your job to kill off the Nazis once and for all. This space shooter is pretty short, linear and easy, with a set of easily attainable achievements. What is not to like? The game is PAL only.

*Warning: One of your ships, the Xerg, has potential to become unavailable to use. Try not to leave it docked at the South Korean Space Station, as there are other AI Xergs there, which seems to contribute to this. Use the ISS or the NWO Space Station.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

You can get all of the achievements in a single playthrough, but one thing you need to remember is to collect ALL salvage you see, even if it is out of your way (sometimes AI will kill enemies that can be a couple of kilometers away), as that is the one thing you can't use level select to mop up. All of the "kill x enemies" achievements by using level select; but if you try and use it as you haven't got enough for "Hoarder", you start that level with the amount of salvage you started that level with when the game saved (it isn't cumulative. You will also need around 500 pieces of salvage to upgrade both of your ships for those achievements, so, yeah, get them.

If you have a new edition of the game, you should have a code that will give you the Katar spaceship, which you can redeem as soon as you can get to the NWO Space Station. It is pretty strong, fast and has unlimited missiles. It is probably your best ship until you get some upgrades for the Dundee. If you don't have that, the Dundee is probably the best of the two ships to use. Once the Dundee has the chaingun upgrade and decent shields, use that.

As well as doing the story missions, do any side missions as soon as they are available by going to the three different space stations. Missions from a Sarah Palin-esque US President are all pretty straightforward, a drunk Russion premier will get you to liberate some satellites, and the Indian NWO chief will get you to do some weird stuff. Protecting movie crews, recuing a movie director, and getting technology for an MP3 player are a sample of things he sees as more important than an invasion of Nazi space ships.

You can use the face buttons to reroute power to different parts of your ship, with :xbut: being the one to divert to shields. You will need to use that a lot, but it is pretty effective. For the most part you can take a pounding, as long as you are boosting the shields. Make sure you don't stay stationary for very long though, because as soon as they are locked on any enemy will make light work of you. Even the boss battles are pretty simple, as if you are getting weak, you can leave the battle and the game will auto-save (it auto saves any time you move using the mini-map), and you can go and restock missiles and heal at any space station if you need to, before rejoining the battle. Any health lost by enemies is saved too, so you can have multiple runs at it. Don't worry if you haven't killed enough of some of the enemies, instead read the next step!

Mop-Up:

If you failed to get enough kills of certain enemies, use the chapter select to go to a level that you are sure that particular enemy was in, load it up and go killing. You shouldn't need anything else at this stage.

Conclusion:

Lets take this game for what it is; a low budget game for a low budget film. Looking at it like that, it is pretty fun. There aren't too many space shooters around on the 360, and certainly none with this level of toungue-in-cheek humour. The game is easy enough, and fun at first. After a few hours it starts to get a bit repeptitive, but ends quite soon after that feeling kicks in. As for the achievements, they shouldn't give you too much trouble, and even if you miss one, you could rush through the game in an afternoon. It's always fun killing Nazis, after all.

During the "Fight" section of the tutorial, you will head to a drone launcher, which will launch six drones for you to take out. Each drone only takes one hit to kill, and they are all within range from the start, so just follow the arrows to get them into view, and shoot them with :bbut:. 30 seconds is plenty of time to do this, you should get this with ease.

Acquired the Xerg light fighter.

Story related, can't be missed.

You first have access to this straight after repelling the Nazis from the Korean space station. Dock at the space station and swap the Dundee over for the Xerg if you wish to use it.

You will acquire the Banzai during the final Russian side mission. Technically this is missable, so make sure you do all of the missions for the Russians.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/-ruadw==.jpg The Knight 40:gsicon:

Destroyed the Biterolf capital warship.

Story related, can't be missed.

The Biterolf is the first capital warship you fight, and you will encounter it early in Chapter 1, and it has 5,000 HP. These zeppelins are behemoths, they have lots of cannons, and have squadrons of Valkyrs protecting them. Don't stay still for too long, and try to take out the cannons if you can. They are weakest when their hangars are open to release more Valkyrs, so shoot down the ones protecting so it opens to release more. The hangars open on both sides of the zeppelin, and you will see what looks like huge scaffolding, so release whatever ammo you have inside to do maximum damage. You will have several other ships assisting you, so this one should go down relatively easy, but may take a while.

Destroyed the Heinrich capital warship.

Story related, can't be missed.

The Heinrich and the Herrmann zepellins are your targets at the beginning of Chapter 2, and have 8,000 HP each. Use similar tactics that you used to take out the Biterolf in Chapter 1, but be extra careful. Take out the accompanying Wotans and Rheingolds first, so they don't get in your way. As they fly as a pair, they have twice the amount of Valkyrs buzzing around and getting in your way. Don't be afraid to leave the battle every now and then to save your game, when you return to the battle, any HP losses the enemy have will be saved. Try to take out one first to make your life easier, and remember you have allies around that will be a big help.

Story related, can't be missed.

The Tannhäuser, Walther and Wolfram zeppelins are you target in Chapter 4. They fly in a group of three, with Wotans, Alberichs and Hundings protecting them. Make sure you take out the support vessels first (ignore the Valkyrs as they respawn), before going after the zeppelins. Use the same tactics as you have the previos three, getting the hangars to open before shooting inside. Each of these zeppelins has 10,000 HP, so you are in for quite a long battle. It would be advisable to leave the battle area periodically to save your progress.

Repelled the meteorblitzkrieg.

Story related, can't be missed.

During Chapter 3, you will be in control of the Canadarm bomber, which is armed with nukes. Although very powerful, it is slow as hell. Carefully take down the support ships, before picking off some of the turrets and engines on the asteroids. When you can safely position yourself for long enough, select your nukes. Lock on to the asteroids one by one (reticle will turn red), and nuke those bad boys. Once the third one is nuked, you have your achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/+dbWsQ==.jpg It's the size of Texas 60:gsicon:

Detonated the Überasteroid.

Story related, can't be missed.

In Chapter 5, those pesky Nazis have decided to try and wreck everybodies day by flinging the mother of all asteroids at earth, and you have to take it out. You have nukes on the Canadarm, but you can't use that, this one is too big. In proper Armageddon-style, a drilling team need to go in and set charges to blow it. Cue up Aerosmith on your stereo if you so wish. First of all, go take out the Walkyrs zipping around it, and then take out all of the turrets on the asteroid. Be warned, visibility is horrible, so if you can't seem to target them, fly right away and wait untill you can see the surface of the asteroid in the sun/moonlight. Once the turrets are taken care of, defend them by taking care of the incoming Walkyrs and Alberichs, and wait for the boom.

Destroyed the Götterdämmerung.

Story related, can't be missed.

This is it. Chapter 6, your final fight, against the "Ragnorak" of the Nazi fleet. The ship has Hundings and Admiral Kreutz's flagship blocking the blast doors you need to blow open, so focus on taking them out first to get them out of the way. There are respawing Rheingolds buzzing about too, but you can ignore them for the most part unless you need the kills or the salvage. One the blast doors are free, blow them to smithereens so you can get inside the Götterdämmerung. Make sure you stay on the move while doing this, as there are plenty of cannons which will tear you apart if you stay still for too long. Once they are open, fly inside, through the tunnel and blow up the helium reactor. The achievement will pop as soon as it is destroyed, it is up to you if you wish to try and escape or not!

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-+a1cs=.jpg Fly me to the moon 40:gsicon:

Safely escorted Renate to the moon.

During Chapter 2, one of your missions will be to escort your semi-love-interest Renate to the moon. Using the Spitfire, just fly ahead of her and take out all of the Nazi ships, clearing a path straight to the moon. She will give you some missions on the way, such as destroying certain targets or capturing satellites, so go and get them done, but make sure you return immediately if she is in danger.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-273H4=.jpg Outsourced 60:gsicon:

Completed all Indian missions.

The Indian missions are given to you by the movie loving Indian premier at the NWO Space Station, and there are nine of them. They are all pretty simple and shouldn't give you too much trouble. Most are reconaissance, or simple rescue missions, with the final mission netting you a cool half million dollars. As soon as you get in range when the NWO Space Station shows on your map, you will get a message from him. The first mission is available in Chapter 1, and the final is available in Chapter 4 after destroying the three zeppelins. Try and do them all as soon as they become available so you can get more money to upgrade your ship; a good time is before attacking the Heinrich and the Herrmann zeppelins appear to stay around Mir untill you defeat them.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-xbJO0=.jpg The Russian reversal 60:gsicon:

Completed all Russian missions.

The Russan missions are given to you by the somewhat alcohol focussed Russian premier at the Korean Space Station, and there are five of them. They are all pretty simple and shouldn't give you too much trouble. The first four are just securing satellites. Just slow down when you reach them, and keep diverting power to your sheilds as you slowly fly around them. The final mission has you delivering a ship. Easy stuff, and he gives you a cool $1Million for doing so. As soon as you get in range, you will get a message from him. The first mission is available in chapter 1, and the final is available in Chapter 4 after destroying the three zeppelins. Try and do them all as soon as they become available so you can so you get more money to upgrade your ship; a good time is before attacking the Heinrich and the Herrmann zeppelins appear to stay around Mir untill you defeat them.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-n5zxQ=.jpg Yes she can 60:gsicon:

Completed all US President missions.

You pick up missions from the Sarah Palin-like US President at the International Space Station (ISS). They are all pretty simple and shouldn't give you too much trouble. Most are simple destroy-a-target, reconaissance or salvage missions, with the final being capturing a space ship. She gives you a grand total of nothing as an award. Damn Palin. As soon as you get in range, you will get a message from her. The first mission is available in chapter 1, and the final is available in Chapter 4, after destroying the three zeppelins. Try and do them all as soon as they become available so you can get more money to upgrade your ship; a good time is before attacking the Heinrich and the Herrmann zeppelins appear to stay around Mir untill you defeat them.

See "Hoarder".

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-o4PjI=.jpg Hoarder 40:gsicon:

Collected 500 salvage.

When you destroy enemies, they will often drop salvage. The bigger enemies are more likely to drop it. Collect all of the salvage you see, as you will need it so you can sell it to purchase upgrades for the Dundee and the Xerg. It is vital that you get as much salvage as you find, else you may end up short for this achievement. Make sure you take out the engines on the Brünnhildes, the Hundings and the zeppelins, as they will give you one salvage for each engine. You should get this around the end of Chapter 4/beginning of Chapter 5 if you have been hoarding well enough. Salvage is NOT tracked, and you need to collect 500 in one playthrough, so if need be just keep on downing the respawning Rheingolds on the last mission until it pops.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-vYxqE=.jpg Chooser of the slain 20:gsicon:

Destroyed 300 Walkyr ships.

The Walkyr ships are the footsoldiers of the Nazi fleet, you will come across hundreds of these throughout the game. They are also launched from the zeppelins. The Walkyr has 100 hp, which you can deplete with a few shots of your standard ammo or two guided missiles. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. You can check to see your progress by pausing and checking your statistics. If you still need any kills after you have finished the story, you can reload chapters to add to your tally.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-j-0q8=.jpg Gold digger 20:gsicon:

Destroyed 100 Rheingold ships.

Rheingold ships are pretty common. They have low HP at 100, but are very fast and can outrun you so are annoying to destroy as they will often escape from you. They have countermeasures, so don't bother using missiles against them. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. You can check to see your progress by pausing and checking your statistics. If you still need any kills after you have finished the story, you can reload chapters to add to your tally.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-kfKjw=.jpg Close encounters 20:gsicon:

Destroyed 50 Alberich ships.

The Alberich is a heavy fighter. It is relatively fast and has 400 HP. The best tactic with these is to fire missiles as they have no countermeasures, and then barrage them with your regular guns. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. You can check to see your progress by pausing and checking your statistics. If you still need any kills after you have finished the story, you can reload chapters to add to your tally.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-owdZA=.jpg The fall of the king 20:gsicon:

Destroyed 20 Hanebu IV ships.

The Hanebu IV ships are pretty tough. They have 1000 HP, but have strong weapons and countermeasures. They are pretty much the tanks of the Nazi fleet. Try taking their engines out if you can, and avoid their guided missiles as they will cause you big damage. They are much weaker on their underside, so try to get beneath them and attack that for more damage. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. You can check to see your progress by pausing and checking your statistics. If you still need any kills after you have finished the story, you can reload chapters to add to your tally.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-gRfCU=.jpg The line is broken 20:gsicon:

Destroyed 20 Wotan ships.

*The description for this achievement is wrong. You actually need to destroy 25.

The Wotan ships are tough. They have 800 HP, heavy lasers and can take a hell of a pounding from you. It is best to attack it swiftly, then retreat and restore your health and weapons. Then return to finish it off. A good time to get a few of these if you want to get ahead is before attacking the Heinrich and the Herrmann zeppelins, as they appear to stay around Mir until you attack them. They will attack with Brünnhilde, Rheingolds and Walkyrs, too. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. You can check to see your progress by pausing and checking your statistics. If you still need any kills after you have finished the story, you can reload chapters to add to your tally.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2474/5-nxhLY=.jpg Destroyer destroyer 20:gsicon:

Destroyed 10 Hunding ships.

Hundings are big, slow, and heavily fortified. They have 3,000 HP, laser turrets, heavy missiles and guided missiles. Target their engines and weapons systems, but be wary. They have the firepower to take you out quite easily if you aren't careful. There are less than 20 of these ships in the whole game, and as the AI allies don't totally suck, they can sometimes take them out, so make sure when they get to relatively low health that you are there to strike the final blow. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. You can check to see your progress by pausing and checking your statistics. If you still need any kills after you have finished the story, you can reload chapters to add to your tally.

Destroyed 10 Brünnhilde ships.

The Brünnhilde are the large spacecraft that are pulling the asteroids. They have 1,500 hp, but if you take out their support ships, and then its turret, you can sit there and pick them off with any of your weapons without them fighting back. A good time to get a few of these if you want to get ahead is before attacking the Heinrich and the Herrmann zeppelins, as they appear to stay around Mir until you attack them. They will attack with Wotans, Rheingolds and Walkyrs, too. There aren't too many Brünnhilde that appear naturally later on in the game, so it is advisable to get to 7 or 8 by this point. You can see what ships are in fleets when you enter the star map, so if you want this quicker, target fleets where there are more of them. If you collect enough salvage for "Hoarder", and do all of the side missions, you should have just enough cash to fully upgrade both the Xerg (the Korean light fighter) and the Dundee. Don't bother upgrading the Rogue, it really isn't worth it. You should have enough to fully upgrade them both by around the end of Chapter 4.
