simmshady22
Does anyone know if the games on demand version comes with an online pass for mp? The download info on Xbox.com doesn't say. I want to get this while it's on sale but not if it doesn't include the full game.
simmshady22
I decided to download it anyway and answered my own question. The games on demand version of AC3 does indeed have multiplayer included, the download is a whopping 7.7GB. Thank you, Ubisoft. I heard that EA dosnt include an online pass at all for full priced games on demand. What a rip.

What a rip. lol. read the fine print. even without an online pass, you can play multiplayer and reach level 10. more to the point: no. the games on demand version does not include a complimentary online pass. nor do any other games on demand. it isn't just EA. Can you actually get any achievements without an Online Pass ? Could I use a friend's Uplay account to get them ?
ThePumpkinKing
Can you actually get any achievements without an Online Pass ? Could I use a friend's Uplay account to get them ? I unlocked the personalized achievement without one. Haven't tried for any others. But I'd say, yes. Though without the pass, you won't be able to unlock the level 20 achievement. Nekrophetamine
I think I read somewhere that with Games on Demand titles, your online pass is activated automatically upon finishing the download. Makes sense, or otherwise these games with online passes would have to be about $10 cheaper on the marketplace, to account for lack of a pass. Not a single Games on Demand game includes the Online Pass. You read wrong. Go read up on it. It's confirmed in several places that GoD do NOT include online passes. Ever. As far as unlocking the "personalized" achievement (to whomever mentioned it), I unlocked it by customizing the sharpshooter character. Which was the character exclusive to the NOS promotion. So that may have had something to do with it.
Goujon
Every single downloadable game in Game Marketplace has Multiplayer unlocked without any need to buy so-called Online Pass. Of course only if original retail game offers it as a code on inlay or for an additional fee. Obviously if MP is free it's free in all versions. )) I'm buying a lot of games off GoD, so it applies to the games like AC:Revelations, ACIII, F1 2011 and so on. thenutman69321
Thank you, Ubisoft. I heard that EA dosnt include an online pass at all for full priced games on demand. What a rip. Most GoD have the online passes built in. Their are a few exceptions like as you said many EA games don't and some non EA games as well. If they don't come with it it will usually but not always say so in the description. I know you already bought but for future reference I would suggest never buying a GoD game, they are ridiculously overpriced. It takes 75% off sales to get them down to a normal price usually. You also just never know if it will have the pass or not, which is insane seeing as you aren't buying it used and you're paying a crazy high price for it. anonymous ferret
I've been wondering the same after loading up AC3 and buying it off GoD BECAUSE WHILST IT WAS ON SALE IT WAS THE CHEAPEST VERSION AROUND (just to clarify for those moaning about it's high prices). I have been in contact with Xbox Customer Support who pointed me towards Ubisoft and have had the following response: Hello, If you purchased the game , the vendor is to supply you of contents you purchase. Playing the games on demand version of the game, you should not be prompt to enter an passport. The content should be included with the build you purchase. As long as you are in the correct region and are playing the game you should not be prompt for an Passport for any purchase through games on demand as they are all purchased new. Please try uninstalling and reinstalling the content to see if the issue persists. If you continue to experience this problem, please submit a Support ticket here; https://support.ubi.com/ After submitting the ticket, please update me with the ticket number to see if I can look into this further. I believe I saw the Online Pass in the DLC portion after I was downloading each DLC after getting the Season Pass and panicked. I've been playing MP fine but only time will tell when I reach level 10. Hope it's helped as there's a lot of conflicting information in this thread i.e. download version comes with automatic online pass, and it doesn't come with online pass. Emperor 95
if you have bought the AC3 from GoD then you do not get an online pass because you have bought it NEW. it is the complete game

anonymous ferret
this is for people who purchased second hand retail. I gathered it's for preowned copies mate (since it's been introduced a while back, first one I came across was Homefront), it's not mentioned anywhere when you download the digital copy that you also have the Online Pass installed automatically. Although thanks for your contribution and help

I just figured that they would want to promote games on demand as there is no re-sale value on it, so a win win for the producer.
