Introduction

Microsoft Minesweeper is nothing more than the classic game with a new look. Your goal is to use the process of elimination and deduction to locate all explosive mines on a predefined grid of tiles. Find all the mines and you win. There are several difficulties that can be challenging to most players in some way. The game offers pause and resume with the Windows 8 version and has a few potential benefits for achievements, but in some respects it can cause more glitches than it does good. Currently the game is FREE with ads in the Windows Phone Store.

Step 1: Complete all medals and miscellaneous achievements

There game only has a total of 20 achievements, but two of achievements are related to completing all of the medals. There are 20 medals which basically adds 20 more things to do that are quite similar to the achievements themselves. See "Decorated Sweeper" for the best methods to complete each medal. Working towards all of the medals will unlock many of the achievements as well. Most of your gameplay will be completing easy boards over and over, but you also must win a few custom, medium, and expert boards. A majority of the achievements are rather simple and have great methods to quickly and easily grind them. A few require you to complete a small task one time. The "Serious Business" achievement is somewhat luck-based so it could be a bit frustrating if it doesnt come easy for you.

Step 2: Grind boards

After getting most of the achievements out of the way, you will need to grind 1,000 boards played at the end to unlock the "Path to Perfection" achievement. This will take an additional 1 to 3 hours to unlock after completing most of the other achievements, depending on how you went about earning the rest.

Step 3: Only play a single difficulty for three days

The final achievement, "Three Good Days," will require that you only play a single difficulty for three straight days. You must be connected to Xbox Live (i.e. have internet connection and have time set to automatic on your device) for the days to count. Each day, load up an easy board and complete it (win or lose). Do not play anything else within the game until the achievement pops.

Conclusion

Microsoft Minesweeper offers a fresh look on an old game. It is fairly straightforward, but the entire completion can just be considered a quick grind.

TIPS & TRICKS:

  1. When you detonate a mine you will lose the game. However, after the game there will be the option to "View Board" that will reveal the location of every mine in the board. You can use this to your advantage by taking a screen capture of the board (push Windows button and Power Button on your phone simultaneously). You can then view this image on any other media device (i.e. email to yourself or have auto upload to Skydrive enabled to view on a computer). You can also navigate your your screenshot photos on your phone. Using the back button (holding it down), you can quick swap between apps, with both the game board and the picture visible. After you fail that level, you can select "Play same board" to give the same exact board another attempt. Use the image you captured to look back-and-forth to quickly flag the mines and clear all the other tiles. This method can be used for any achievement unless otherwise noted.
  2. You can check your progress towards all of the cumulative achievements and medals from their respective listings, found in their subsections from the Main Menu.
  3. Chording can be quite useful as it will allow you to quickly clear the board of empty tiles. From the settings, turn on chroding. This will allow you to double tap an uncovered empty tile to uncover all adjacent mine-free tiles. The only caveat is that if there are any adjacent tiles with a mine, they must be flagged before chording.
  4. I would immediately go to Settings and disable the option to "Allow Quick Mode change." This setting can allow you to quickly swap control modes, but more often than not it will happen without you noticing and cause you to fail a board (it switches what tapping does, from flagging a mine to actually detonating it).
  5. Helpful video on the basics of Minesweeper (thanks to Youtube user dmanbiker).

WINDOWS 8 VERSION INTERACTION: The Windows Phone version is cross platform with the Windows 8 version, meaning you can pause and resume games between the two versions and some of the stats carry over. The only noteworthy importance this has is for medals. The Windows 8 version has 10 unique medals that will contribute to "Decorated Sweeper" and "Earning Your Stripes." Some of these medals are quicker and easier than a few of the 20 medals on the Windows Phone version so you may want to substitute them in. However, playing on Windows 8 can increase the potential for glitches to occur in your medals and achievements, especially if you earn your 10th or 20th medal on Windows 8, it will sync the medal but will not pop the specific achievement. Overall the medals on the Windows Phone version are not difficult and it may just be best to avoid the Windows 8 version.

GLITCHY ACHIEVEMENTS: Just about every achievement in the game can be considered glitchy. Even after completing the requirements many times, some achievements just may not pop. Different ones can do this for different people. Then after many attempts, or slightly altering your approach, the achievement will seemingly pop for no reason. This game will likely be updated to address some of these issues eventually. But for now, be wary. If any specific achievement has any useful info out there about the glitchiness and how to get around it, the achievement description will contain that info.

Triggered your first mine on your phone.

This achievement requires that you simply detonate your first mine on your phone. Load up a game on any difficulty and uncover a mine. This will lose the game, but it will pop the achievement.

Completed a minefield for the first time on your phone.

This achievement requires that you successfully complete a game on any difficulty for the first time on your phone. This is most easily done on an easy board. Find all 10 mines to unlock this achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2909/3.jpg Savior of the World - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Won a game on each board on your phone.

This achievement requires that you win at least one game on all three difficulty boards (easy, medium, and expert). Easy and medium should give you no trouble, but expert can require some careful planning and a couple lucky guesses to complete legitimately. Luckily you can replay the same board after you fail it to get credit towards this achievement. See #1 in the "Tips & Tricks" section at the end of the Roadmap for more information. Once you win a game on each board, this achievement will pop. I cannot confirm whether a custom board win is required for this achievement as well, but either way, you must win no less than 11 custom boards to unlock two other achievements.

Completed a minefield on your phone without using any flags.

This achievement requires that you complete a board without using a single flag to mark any mines. Do this on an easy board. Just work your way around carefully, keeping a mental note of the mine locations. Avoid accidentally putting down a flag. There are only a total of 10 mines to navigate around. This can easily be done legit, but you can also use the trick outlined in #1 of the "Tips & Tricks" section at the end of the Roadmap. Instead of using your photo to mark all the mines with flags, use it to clear all of the other tiles. As soon as the level is completed, the achievement will unlock.

Uncovered a square touching 6 or more mines. No “play same board” or custom board allowed.

*GLITCHY* This achievement requires that you uncover a tile with a number of 6 or greater on it (meaning that tiles is touching 6 or more mines). You can only do this on a regular board (i.e. not custom) on your first try (i.e. not by replaying a board) and it must be the very first tile you tap. These stipulations make this achievement basically luck-based. The best method to attempt this achievement is to keep repeatedly doing expert boards. These have the most mines and have the highest frequency of occurrence for the tiles you need (6+). Even then, the the entire board of 480 tiles will only have a most two or three of these tiles, but usually one or none. When the board loads, repeatedly keep randomly tapping around the board trying to locate one of these elusive tiles. If you don't stumble on one and hit a mine first, choose "New Game" and try again. Keep repeating this process until you find one. Based on the low odds of finding one, it could take several hundred tries or more using this method to uncover one first.

NOTE: Simply uncovering one naturally while playing a board will not unlock the achievement. It must be the very first tile you uncover (not 100% confirmed)

GLITCH NOTE: This achievement is glitchy. Methods that work for some, dont work for others and vice versa. Read more about other's experiences HERE. Some possible methods to try:

  • On an expert board keep playing until you uncover a mine. After the game, click view board and look for any tiles that have 6 or more mines around them. If you find one (that tile must not have been uncovered already), remember where it is. Then play the same board again and tap that tile FIRST. Thanks to Gacys Clown for this method.
  • Load up an expert board on Windows 8. Tap once then exit to the Main Menu. Load up the same difficulty board on Windows Phone and load the cloud save. Load up the same difficulty on the Windows 8 device simultaneously. Detonate a mine on Windows 8 device. The view board and look for a tile with 6+ mines around it. Since your Windows Phone game is still open, tap that tile to reveal the 6+ tile. Thanks to Darkened Night for this method.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2909/6.jpg Flag Happy - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Placed a flag on every single tile of a board in classic mode.

This achievement requires that you place a flag on every single tile of a board in classic mode (the only game mode on Windows Phone). This is not much of an achievement. Load up an easy board and mark every single tile with a flag. Make sure not to clear any tiles at all or you wont be able to put a flag on them. As soon as you flag the last tile, the achievement will pop.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2909/7.jpg 1 2 1 - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Completed 1-2-1 pattern within 3 seconds and without chording 20 times.

This achievement requires that you solve the 1-2-1 pattern 20 times within three seconds of it being revealed without chording. This is cumulative across all games on all boards, except custom. The 1-2-1 pattern indicates a precise mine layout. Once you reveal this pattern, you have three seconds to solve it. See the photo below. The pattern can be seen on this board twice, outlined in red. It must be accompanies by three adjacent, undiscovered tiles and can either be horizontal or vertical. To complete the pattern, you must tap to reveal the middle tile, circled in yellow in the picture. You must also not use chording, which is when you double-tap a tile to reveal all touching tiles that done have mines (can be enabled/disabled from the Settings).

To quickly grind all 20 of these, start a medium board game. Tap around until you discover the pattern somewhere. If the board doesnt have one, fail and create a new medium board. Keep repeating until you find one. Now that you know where it is located and where you need to make your initial tap to reveal it, fail the board and then select "Play same board." When it loads, reveal the pattern and click the tile to complete it as fast as possible. If you got it done within three seconds of revealing it, it will count towards this achievement. Fail the board and repeat the process by clicking "Play same board" until you reach 20.

Completed 1-2-2-1 pattern within 3 seconds and without chording 20 times.

This achievement requires that you solve the 1-2-2-1 pattern 20 times within three seconds of it being revealed without chording. This is cumulative across all games on all boards, except custom. The 1-2-2-1 pattern indicates a precise mine layout. Once you reveal this pattern, you have three seconds to solve it. See the photo below. The pattern can be seen in the lower right corner of the board, outlined in red. It must be accompanied by four adjacent, undiscovered tiles and can either be horizontal or vertical. To complete the pattern, you must tap to reveal the two side tiles adjacent to the "1s", circled in yellow in the picture.

Uncovered 20 tiles in one move. No ''Play same board" or custom board allowed.

This achievement requires that you uncover 20 tiles in a single move. When you uncover a white tile, all neighboring white spaces and numbered tiles will be uncovered. You need to get 20 with a single tap. This is very easy and will likely come with no effort in one of your first games. Start up an expert board and tap around. With a little luck, you will stumble across this achievement. If you hit a mine and fail, create a new game and try again. This cannot be done in custom boards or by replaying a board. The achievement will unlock immediately if you uncover 20 or more tiles.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2909/10.jpg Bomb Squad - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Correctly flagged 500 mines.

This achievement requires that you correctly flag 500 mines. Mines are only verified as correctly flagged when you complete a board by revealing all of the non-mine tiles. Any mines you have flagged on the board will then count towards this achievement. This will come naturally while completing the other achievements in the game, so don't waste time grinding this by itself.

Earned 20 Medals across a Windows 8 device and your phone.

These achievements require that you earn a total of 10 and 20 medals between Windows 8 devices and your phone. Medals are earned by completing specific tasks in a game or by fulfilling cumulative requirements. The game supports pause and resume between Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 devices and to some degree medals are shared between the two versions of the game. There is a total of 30 medals. 10 are exclusive to the Windows Phone version, 10 are exclusive to the Windows 8 version, and 10 are shared between the two versions. If you are only playing the phone version, there are only 20 medals available so you will need to unlock each and every one to pop the "Decorated Sweeper" achievement. See the listing below for the best method to unlock each medal. Note that when you complete your 10th and 20th medals, the achievements may not pop until your start a new board again.

  1. Click! Click! BOOM! - Lose a game in two taps: You must hit a mine on your second tap to lose a board. Load up a level on easy and tap once. After that, it is very obvious usually where some mines are located. Tap one of the mines on your next tap.
  2. The Sea of Flags - Flag 100 mines: See the "Bomb Squad" achievement. You only need to flag the mines, not complete the level.
  3. Burgeoning Explorer - Uncover 1,000 squares: You will easily get this before finishing all of the other achievements. Create the biggest custom board with the least amount of mines and tap away to grind this.
  4. 100K Club - Accumulate over 100,000 points: Keep playing and winning easy boards. They are very simple. Finishing the board in 15 to 30 seconds will award 400-600 points (1000-1500 per minute). You are looking at 1-2 hours of play time for this medal alone. Math Guy 42 notes that you can earn points similarly if you have the Windows 8 version by playing adventure mode. Quickly complete levels to earn around 1000 points per minute.
  5. Quick and Easy - Win a game on Easy in under 30 seconds: Tap as fast as you can. Within a couple tries, you can easily get this one.
  6. One with the Chord - Win 3 games where the only moves you make are Chords and Flags with the exception of your first tap: Load up an easy board. Make sure you have chords enabled from the Settings by double tapping a tile. Chords allow you to double tap a numbered tile to uncover all adjacent tiles that do not have mines. Make sure sure have the neighboring tiles flagged if they contain a mine or this could end poorly for you. After your first tap, only mark flags and uncover tiles by chording. Not that difficult to do this three times at all once you understand what chording is.
  7. I Guess I was Right - Place a question mark on a square that had a mine, then remove it, and then detonate the mine: Make sure you have question marks enabled in the Settings. Load up any board and tap until you locate a mine and then enter Flag Mode. Tap it once to flag it. Then tap it again to put a question mark on it. Then tap again to remove the question mark. Finally, with the tile blank, uncover it to explode the mine.
  8. Flag it Up - Disarm 1,000 mines: See the "Bomb Squad" achievement.
  9. Bug Collector - Find 50 ladybugs without disturbing them: From the Main Menu you must select the Garden theme. Ladybugs are the equivalent of mines in this theme. You just need to "disarm" 50 ladybugs across multiple games. See the "Bomb Squad" achievement.
  10. Oh COME On!! - Correctly flag every mine except one on an expert board, and then detonate it: Use #1 from the "Tips & Tricks" section of the Roadmap to flag all but one mine of an expert board. Then reveal the last mine to fail the game.
  11. Flags? No Thanks! - Win a game on Medium difficulty without using flags: Just finish an entire medium board without using a flag at all, even accidentally. Use #1 from the "Tips & Tricks" section of the Roadmap to use the location of the mines and other tiles to your advantage.
  12. Miner 2049 - Win 10 games on a 20x20 custom board with 49 mines: Create a 20x20 custom board with 49 mines and successfully complete it 10 times. Use #1 from the "Tips & Tricks" section of the Roadmap to knock these out rather quickly.
  13. Happy Tapper - Win a game on Medium difficulty using the Tap to Flag option: From the Main Menu, go to Settings and make sure the "Use swipe in controls" are disabled. This will default your controls to Tap to Flag. However, you must have Flag Mode enabled so that you can tap to flag (tap the blank area of the screen while in game and tap the flag icon). Now just complete a medium board with these controls active the entire time. You MUST keep Flag mode enabled the entire game (including your first tap), such that you tap to flag mines, and tap and hold to reveal empty tiles. It is also advised that you have the setting "Allow quick mode change" disabled, as this can switch your mode without warning and can potentially void this medal.
  14. Swipe the Flag - Win a game on Medium difficulty using the Swipe to Flag option: From the Main Menu, go to Settings and make sure the "Use swipe in controls" are enabled. This will allow you to flag mines by touching a tile and swiping in a direction with your finger. Now just complete a medium board with these controls active the entire time. If you are having trouble, use #1 from the "Tips & Tricks" section of the Roadmap to note where the mines are. Don't mark any flags at all and clear the board with the "Swipe to flag" option enabled to get this one. It is also advised that you have the setting "Allow quick mode change" disabled, as this can switch your mode without warning and can potentially void this medal.
  15. Fast Flagger - Correctly place 10 flags within 15 seconds: You must identify and flag 10 mines correctly in 15 seconds. Load up a 30x24 custom board with maximum mines. From the start, uncover one tile to start the board, then just keep throwing down flags until the medal unlocks.
  16. Man of the Hour - Acquire at least 60 minutes total play time on each difficulty: You must have a cumulative total of 60 minutes played on each difficulty (easy, medium, and expert). You will be spending most of your time on easy to get the rest of the achievements, so don't worry about that one. To get medium and expert knocked out, just load up a game, tap once and then do nothing while time elapses (either periodically tap the screen to keep it from locking, or set your device not to lock at all if it supports that). The medal will unlock AFTER you meet the requirements AND finish the current board (fail or win).
  17. Done Medium Well - Achieve a 5-game winning streak on Medium difficulty: Win streaks seem to be broken in this game and it only requires you to play a total of 5 boards on Medium, win or lose.
  18. Bragging Rights - Win a custom 9x9 board with at least 30 mines: This is not that difficult to do legitimately. This is slightly harder than medium but easier than expert for sure. Use #1 from the "Tips & Tricks" section of the Roadmap if you are having trouble.
  19. I'm Easy - Achieve a 10-game win streak on Easy difficulty: Again win streaks are broken in the game and it just requires that you play 10 boards total on easy, win or lose. This is simple to do legit if it actually did require wins, just take your time.
  20. Blown Comeback - Lose a game on easy difficulty on the first tap: Load up an easy board. After your first tap, the location of at least one mine is almost always obvious. Uncover the mine end the game. Remember the location of this mine. Select "Play same board" to attempt the same board again. Now, with your very first tap, select the mine you picked before to lose the game on your first tap. You must do this upon reattempting a board, as your first tap on a new board will never lose a game.

If you also have a Windows 8 device, you have access to an additional 10 medals that cannot be earned in the Windows Phone version. This can be useful because you can replace some of the more time-consuming medals listed above and replace them with a couple quicker Windows 8 medals and they will count towards these achievements. VERY IMPORTANT: The only thing to be careful with is your 10th and 20th medals should not be earned on the Windows 8 version. If you do, the achievement tied to that number of medals will become permanently unobtainable.

*GLITCHY* All of the medals can be glitchy. As mentioned above, many will glitch in your favor and easily unlock without actually doing the requirements exactly. However, on the same note, some of the medals will not unlock when you do meet the requirements. It seems to be random. Be aware as it could happen to you. Listed above are many workarounds that have been found to help.

Won 100 boards on Easy, Medium or Expert.

This achievement requires that you win 100 total games on easy, medium or expert boards. You actually must win ALL 100 on a SINGLE difficulty (i.e. 50 easy wins and 50 medium wins will not unlock this achievement). Obviously playing on easy is the way to go as the boards are very simple and can be completed in less than 30 seconds. Winning easy boards is also the best method to grind points for the "100K Member" medal as well, which is required for the "Dedicated Sweeper" achievement.

Won a game on the custom board.

This achievement requires that you win a single game on a custom board. Winning a game on a custom board will be required for both the "Bragging Rights" and "Miner 2049" medals and is very straightforward.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2909/15.jpg Path to Perfection - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Played 1,000 boards.

This achievement requires that you play a total of 1,000 boards. Only different boards will count towards this achievement (i.e. you cannot keep selecting "Play same board" after failing). You should save this achievement for last as all other achievements will contribute towards this one. The fastest way to grind boards is to load up easy boards, tap once, then on your second tap, purposely tap to detonate a mine. You can tap to load the board faster and to skip through the detonation at the end of the game after failing. With this method, each board will take at most 5 seconds. Going this quickly will cause a few crashes here and there of the game, but all your boards will save so no worries, just relaunch the game and get back to it.

Triggered 100,000 mines.

This achievement requires that you trigger a total of 100,000 mines. This sounds like a crazy number, but there is a quick trick to unlock this in about 10 minutes. Load up a custom board set to max size (30x24) and max mines (667). Tap around until you hit a mine. This will trigger all 667 mines and they will all count towards this achievement. Repeat until you reach 100,000. You can tap to load the board faster and to skip through the detonation at the end of the game after failing. With this method, each board will take at most 5 seconds. Going this quickly will cause a few crashes here and there of the game, but all your triggered mines will save so no worries, just relaunch the game and get back to it.

Won a game on any difficulty while holding the phone so that the screen is facing the ground.

This achievement requires that you win a board on any difficulty while holding the phone in such a way that the screen is facing down. Find a comfortable position that you can manage for a minute. Either lay down on your back and play or just hold your phone above your head. As long as the screen is facing down it will be okay. Then just load up and easy board and complete it to unlock this achievement.

NOTE: Gamer JieXY notes that this achievement will not unlock if you have enabled the setting to lock your screen rotation (for GDR3 updated devices). Disable that setting if you are having trouble getting this to unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2909/18.jpg Three Good Days - 5http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Played the same difficulty 3 days in a row.

*GLITCHY* This achievement requires that you play the same difficulty three days in a row. Pick a single difficulty and play at least one board for three consecutive days without playing any other type of board difficulty (custom seems to be okay to play, but why risk it?). This achievement is glitchy and many have found getting this to unlock with normal play after meeting the requirements. Luckily, there is a very simple way to exploit the time settings on your device to get this achievement in five minutes or less. Follow the steps below carefully. Thanks to Jake2355 for this method.

Step 1: Go to Settings on your phone and turn airplane mode on.

Step 2: Go to Settings on your phone, then Date + Time and turn off "Set Automatically."

Step 3: Change the date back 2 days from the current one. (i.e. if it is the 8th, go back to the 6th).

Step 4: Start up Minesweeper from your Games Hub.

Step 5: Play and complete 1 game on EASY difficulty (win or lose).

Step 6: EXIT Minesweeper and go to Settings>Date + Time, and set it one day forward.

Step 7: Start Minesweeper FRESH again from the Games Hub.

Step 8: Play another game on EASY to completion (win or lose).

Step 9: Repeat Step 6 and 7 again. The achievement will pop when you start an EASY board.

Step 10: Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off. Then from Settings>Date + Time, turn "Set Automatically" back on.Your achievement will sync with the servers now. To immediately force the sync, view and refresh your achievements from within the Games Hub.

If the above steps did not pop the achievement for you, wait until you unlock all other achievements in the game. Then delete and reinstall the game. Completing the above steps again has been shown to work.

Safely uncovered 100,000 tiles.

This achievement requires that you uncover a total of 100,000 tiles. This sounds like a crazy number, but there is a quick trick to unlock this in about 10 minutes. Load up a custom board set to max size (30x24) and minimum mines (10). Tap around until you clear most of the tiles. Then hit a mine. Keep hitting "Play same board" until you reach 100,000 tiles uncovered. You can tap to load the board faster and to skip through the detonation at the end of the game after failing. With this method, each board will take at most 10 seconds and you will net 500+ tiles. Going this quickly will cause a few crashes here and there of the game, but all your uncovered tiles will save so no worries, just relaunch the game and get back to it.

Completed 10,000 boards or began a game on a Windows 8 device and finished it on phone.

This achievement requires that you either complete 10,000 boards OR begin a game on a Windows 8 device and then finish it on your phone. 10,000 boards would be quite a grind, so obviously the other route is the easier of the two. However, it does require a Windows 8 device. Load up a game on a Windows 8 device, tap the screen to start the game, then back out to the Main Menu. Now when you select the same difficulty board on your phone, load your cloud save from the Windows 8 device at finish the board (win or lose) to unlock this achievement. If you do not have Windows 8 at your disposal, see "Path to Perfection" for information on the fastest way to complete boards.

*GLITCHY* Currently this achievement is glitched for the good. To unlock the achievement, you do not currently even need a Windows 8 device. Just load up a board, tap once to start it, then back out to the Main Menu. Now enter back into the same difficulty board to resume the game. Complete it (win or lose) to unlock this achievement.

for blown comeback medal, I had to actually lose on the first tap, by replaying the same field and tapping where I knew one was. tried it the other way 5ish times

Also for me, for whatever reason, fast flagger wasnt working the way you'd assume, I ended up making a custom 9x9 board with max bombs and just flagging everything. These are really just tips if methods in guide dont work

i cannot get Oh COME On!! medal...i don't know what i did wrong

Are you using the picture technique? That worked first try for me. You have to be 100% certain you are on expert and have every single mine marked correctly except one. Then detonate last one. I am guessing maybe you didnt have a mine marked right? Not sure.

i did use the picture technique...so you mean that i need mark 98 mine right and mark 1 wrong, then explore the mine which is not marked? This medal is the only one i left,i will try it again

No that is not what I meant but that also could work. Just meant to flag say 99/100 of them, then detonate the last mine. After you detonate the mine, did you check the game board to make sure you have no red "X" for incorrectly placed mines?

Some of the missions are glitchy, I've just done 4 back to back 1 hour games difficulty and custom and havent unlocked Man of the Hour.

Also after 3 days I don't have Three Good Days

Yeah I believe it. Many of the medals glitch in your favor actually, but it wouldnt surprise me if a few glitched against people. Also I believe Three Good Days must be only the same difficulty three days in a row. Changing difficulty should reset the counter, based on the description. If you got all the other achievements on the first day it came out (Friday), you couldnt have the achievement yet. Or did you do that too?

Played the same difficulty 3 days in a row.

This achievement requires that you play the same difficulty three days in a row. Pick a single difficulty and play at least one board for three consecutive days without playing any other type of board difficulty, including custom. You must be connected to Xbox Live while connected, so exploiting the time settings on your device is not an option. More info coming soon.

Just a text edit. The achievement is Three Good Days, not Golden. Cheers on the Guide.

Yeah I was thinking that I had to stick to one difficulty so I'll be doing that from here and will let you know.

As for the medals the achievement popped when I got the 10k score one. Man of the Hour is still marked as unfinished but the achievement popped and the counter says 20/20 so yeah glitchy.

Also, for Three Good Days, do i need win or just play the same difficulty 3 days in a row?

Yeah, no one knows. The people that unlocked it were not helpful as they are mostly noobs to the platform it seems. But yeah, I would say all you need to do is play the games, not win. But winning on easy is cake and couldnt hurt.

I'm getting frustrated now, I've played only medium since Sunday and still haven't unlocked Three Good Days. I've also been playing roughly once every 12 hours, so there isn't any reason why it shouldn't have unlocked. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah sounds fishy. I did mine on easy. I played easy starting around 1am on Sunday. I played one easy game (just started and detonated a mine) in the morning, afternoon, dinner time, and before bed Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday I did it in the morning, and when I started a game in the afternoon (maybe around 1pm?), the achievement popped when I loaded the easy board (didnt have to finish it). Not sure what tips to offer other than to try to play as much as possible. Just load it up and fail, it takes less than 30 seconds to do it and get back to your life. I also played some custom games throughout sunday testing some other things, so custom doesnt seem to void the achievement.

Can anyone else not unlock the 'Happy Tapper' medal? I can't, definitely got the swipe option off and on the medium board. Also tried turning question marks, quick change and chording on and off but still no luck.

Anyone that did unlock it can you tell me what setting you had at the time? and did you hold a square to flag or switch to the flag option from the side menu? I've tried using both ways but still not luck.

Also:

Fast Flagger: Correctly place 10 flags within 15 seconds - You must identify and flag 10 mines correctly in 15 seconds. Load up a 30x24 custom board with maximum mines. From the start, just keep throwing down flags until the medals unlocks.
Might want to change that to "...After your first tap just keep throwing down flags until the medal unlocks." Might seem obvious to some but I spent some time throwing flags down without doing a first tap thinking it wasn't working but forgetting the bombs aren't actually in place until after your first tap because it is guaranteed to be safe unless you are using the 'play the same board' option. When you've tap to flag turned on, the entire board will show tiles with invisible flags. Tapping them as usual will reveal a flag instead of uncovering a tile. If you don't see the invisible flags, you're doing it wrong. There's no need to hold to flag - the purpose of the tap is to make it easier for you to flag a tile.

For Three Goods Days, it unlocked for me even though I've been playing across all difficulty levels over that three days. It just popped randomly when I loaded a puzzle while taking some unofficial time off in the office.
