Corron
A weird thing that I just noticed on my 32 inch LCD Vizio is that when I have the component cables plugged in the info box in the corner of my screen says 1080p. When I plug in my HDMI cable the info box says 1080i. Is this correct or am I going crazy?
Glowin Smurff
for your 360 or some other device? for 360 it should be the other way, 1080i is the highest supported over component cables, and 1080p is supported through VGA and HDMI.
Corron
For my 360.. Thats what I thought...but it shows 1080p when on component 1. Do you think something is wrong with my TV?
Waggaz
never happened to me - although theres basically no difference between 1080i and 1080p
Glowin Smurff
there's a small difference between 1080i and 1080p, most people can live w/ 1080i instead of 1080p. Corron > i wouldn't worry about it too much, if your really concerned and have a friend w/ a 1080p TV u could try hooking your xbox to it the same ways and see what it says, i can't for sure say what would be causing this at all really, kind of baffels me. Strongbad107
That's interesting, just try changing it. However you won't notice the difference between 1080i/720p and 1080p until around 32 inches. If your TV is any bigger than that, the difference from 1080i to 1080p is incredible.
hondafanatic17
I don't think there's a big difference between the two so I wouldn't worry about it I would just worry about your tv. My friend works up at Wal-Mart and he says they get that brand of tv back all the time.

Bonneash
I have the same problem but with a different TV.. No idea why it's happening, but like everyone has said the difference is minimal.
