Introduction

Dream Track Nation is a 2D physics-based racer from Chillingo that is a stripped-down and more expensive version of the iOS game that released nearly two years ago. The game features 80 levels across four locations, with gameplay that feels like a mix between iStunt2 and Trials HD. There are two games modes to dip your toes into. Time trial mode, in which the sole goal is to get from the start to finish as fast as possible, and star mode, which tasks you with collecting stars scattered around the level, taking all the time you need. You are awarded bronze, silver, and gold medals for your efforts. Currently the game is listed at $0.99 in the Windows Phone Store.

Step 0: Create a custom track

Get the simple custom track achievement out of the way in less than one minute.

Step 1: Earn all the gold medals in time trial mode

The easier of the two game modes is time trial mode. Because the final gold medal achievement requires that you earn all the golds in a single game mode, stick to time trial mode. Play through the game from the beginning, making sure to get a gold medal on each level as you progress. There are 80 levels in all. Most of the them are so easy that you will only have to play them once. All of the other achievements will unlock in this step.

Conclusion

Dream Track Nation is a simple physics racer that is a little light on content for the price tag. However, it is a very quick and easy completion.

GUIDE

CUSTOM MAP ACHIEVEMENTS (1 for 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following achievement is obtained by creating a custom track.

Make sure to click "Yes" to save your map before exiting. Enter a name if you wish and hit "OK." Achievement unlocked in less than one minute.

TIME TRIAL ACHIEVEMENTS (11 for 195 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 11 achievements are obtained along the path to earning gold medals in all 80 levels of the game in time trial or star-collecting modes (one or the other - choose one!).

Get all golds in the game

These achievements are all related to earning all of the gold medals in the game. A gold medal is earned by completing each level rapidly. There is no visible thresholds to shoot for. The only thing that can be said is if you are not getting gold, go faster! Most of the levels are very easy and will only require one try to get the gold medal. Luckily, each level is less than one minute long, so even if you have to retry multiple times, it is not at all time consuming. There is an achievement for unlocking your first gold medal, four achievements for earning all the gold medals on each of the four worlds, and one achievement that unlocks when you earn your 80th and final gold medal in time trial mode.

NOTE: All gold medals must be earned in a single game mode (either time trial or star collecting). Time trial is the easiest so focus on that mode. Thanks to Buckswana for confirming this.

Beat all 20 levels of Moon

These achievements are awarded for beating all 20 levels of each world. Beating a level just requires you to reach the finish, and nothing more. This can either be done in time trial or star collecting mode, but it is suggested you stick to time trial mode as it is easier to get the gold medals. The first level of each world is unlocked from the start. You must beat the level to unlock the subsequent levels within each world. These achievements will unlock along the way to earning all of the gold medals.

Unlock all cars

As you progress through the game, you will unlock other cars to use by beating levels. The last unlockable car, the taxi, will become available when you beat Level 15 of the Moon.

thank You for The Guide, stupid that its apparently glitched even though me or someone should try if they can get it to work

yeah I mean there could be a work around like getting all the good medals over again or something. But no one has any of the achievements. And considering how easy the game is to get golds, surely someone would have gotten them if they weren't glitched..

Good guide, like always man. I regret buying this game bow without first trying it out. I was aware of the glitched achievements but I love this kind of games so I just bought it without trial :(

My medals look a lot like bronze rather than gold but I went the first levels as fast as I could so I don't know what more could I do. Or they are gold and just look like bronze lol.

edit: yeah it was bronze lol. Now I'm getting the hang of the game

Thanks dude! Yeah the developers already said they submitted a patch for the achievements. So hopefully no worries there. But yeah the gold look like gold as your figured it out. Yellowish.

I will say that randomly the first world had the hardest levels of the game IMO. I dont just think it was because I was new to the game. They seem to have much stricter time frames than the later worlds for gold. I dont know why. Literally I almost played every level of the last three worlds one time each to get gold just randomly parading through the level. It gets easier!

But yeah I only regret buying it because it was short. The fact that it is an easy completion though kind of offsets that. Almost. It feels so much like iStunt 2, but is just not as polished or as smooth. Not sure about picking up Tiny Plane though lol.

Good to know there's a patch coming so no worries :)

Steer clear off Tiny Plane, its a Game as annoying as this one here, even though its also doable. Its just not worth 3$. Achievements are a long Grind and then there are so many Things that can take you out instantly its frustrating.

  • 3 weeks later...
I guess we can agree this Game will probably be broken forever, its almost a Month now and i guess the Patch was too expensive for a few people buying the Game.

Well I heard from the developers that said they already submitted the patch, but I imagine that may have been a lie. Not sure. I do know it does take a long time for a submitted patch to actually get certified and published for download, cuz M$ blows WP support hard. I wouldnt count out a patch until three months have passed. I suspect it will release in the next two weeks.

Looks like they've added another mode (picking up stars) on top of the time trial one with the update/patch. Do you need to get all the gold medals in both modes, either mode, or just time trial now?

I am not sure. Why dont you test it and let me know! I got all of the achievements for just completing them in time trial mode. Didnt play any collect the stars.

Just did all of Texas in Star mode, and both achievements popped (completing Texas and All Gold in Texas), so looks like you can do either mode. The star collecting definitely feels a lot like a poor version of iStunt 2. Going to do Alaska and the rest in Time Trial, and see if the Track Master (all gold medals) achievement pops. Curious if you can do a mix of the 2 modes or not. If not, then I'll go back and redo Texas in Time Trial. I'll post whenever I find out, but may be a few days depending on how busy I get. 8)

wow man you are so ambitious. Let me know and I will update the guide. I already deleted this little gem. I can see star mode definitely being more annoying. The time trials in almost all cases are so easy. Usually only rquire 1 play through.

A little more info for you; just finished New York. Did it all in Time Trial, but intentionally got a bronze on the first level. Got a gold in Star Collecting on that level after, and did not get the achievement for all gold medals. So basically, you have to get all of the gold medals for each area in the same mode, which I figured was probably the case but wanted to double check. Still have to finish the Moon levels to see if you can mix modes at all for the all golds in all areas.

Alright, finished it up. Did Texas in Star Collecting, and the rest in Time Trial. Got all of the Master/Gold Medal achievements for each area EXCEPT for Track Master (all golds in all areas). Replayed Texas in Time Trial, and it popped. So basically, you can do either mode for all of the achievements, but have to do all the levels in the same mode. You don't need to do both, and can't mix them.

Check my last post (under the one you quoted), guess you missed it. ;)

Nope. Actually i am referring to if you can get all gold in some areas in star collecting, and then all gold i nsome areas in time trial, and then unlock the all gold for all levels achievement. Or if you have to do all the gold in a single mode.

I am guessing a single mode, but you should be able to confirm as you said you were testing it in the last post I quoted. Cheers.

That's what that one says, sorry I guess it wasn't clear. I did the entire first area (Texas) in Star Collecting, then the rest in Time Trial. I got all of the achievements for each area (Master and Gold), but not the final achievement for all gold on every level. I went back and redid all of Texas in TIme Trial, and the last one popped. I also did one full area in Time Trial, except the first level (got bronze on purpose), and then did that level in Star Collecting, and didn't get the achievement for all gold in that area until I redid the first level in Time Trial as well. In short, you need to do everything in the same mode. You can do either mode, and don't need to do both modes. Time Trial is definitely the easiest of the two.

Thanks for the clarification mate. I amended the guide giving you credit in that case. It is now complete and will be submitted!
