IEvil IMonkey
Ok I am really looking forward to playing this having been following it for some time and despite the numerous delays but......having seen the size of the download on the xbox store being a pitiful 18.13GB while Forza 5 is a massive 40.54GB I can't help but wonder what is going on with this if this is the size as it seems poor to say the least.... even Forza Horizon 2 F&F is 15GB and that is just a glorified demo for Forza Horizon 2 (which is 38GB) Does anybody else think this seems too low a size for what is ment to be a real challenger to Forza
Vernon69
I was wondering the same thing? I preordered and downloaded yesterday but 18GB really isn't very big! Only thing i can think of is a massive Day One update

supadryz
On average 32 tracks in Project compered to Forza 5 release of only 14 Project only has 64 cars not including extra editions, Just over 200 cars in Forza 5 release. So maybe the vehicle designs take up a lot of GB on Forza & tracks not so much. I did not include alternative routes for each track. But even with this something does not seem right. Malcster
But on the flip side gtav is 40 odd gig and thats a massive game Perhaps forza 5 being a launch game wasn't optimised
gladbecker82
Just look at the crew. It has Tons of cities and landscapes recreated and is only 16 GB in Size. So size doesnt really matter. It also reminds of the times when Sony Devs bragged about their Game Sizes and how it needs all of the 50 GBs when later those games became digital it was all not true. My guess is Turn 10 didnt bother with bringing the file sizes down. But it may also have to do with all the details and especially Sounds adding up alot

Some studios are better at compressing than others. Another nice example: the massive size of the new Wolfenstein (which is roughly the same size as GTA V). Azrael008uk
Fretting over the install size of a game is a silly thing to do. You should be worried about what the game plays like and looks like. You are conditioned by Western Culture to believe that if something is bigger it has to be better yet despite this "Skyrim" is a massive game that was a much smaller install size than many games that were both poorer and smaller. Project Cars is a fantastic racing SIM if that's what you're after.
Hawaiian
The Forza games are so large in filesize because they include all the DLC packs. The actual DLCs on the store are (mainly) just 10MB license/unlock keys.
