Ctrl Alt Defeat
YOu want to see another disturbing film? Try "Pink Flamingos", considered the most controversial movie in history. Don't think anything will top A Serbian Film for me.
Zlholstar
The closest for me was Insidious & Paranormal Activity.
Smoochy
Poughkeepsie Tapes I watched this for the first time the other day. Pretty good movie. YOu want to see another disturbing film? Try "Pink Flamingos", considered the most controversial movie in history. John Waters is a genius. Edited June 24, 2012 by Smoochy
ZedChuva
Blair Witch Project for sure. My all time fave flick. [REC] had me creeped out for a while. My second all time fave flick. Lake Mungo is very, very eerie. Exorcist petrified me as a child. Still love it. Ringu had me freaked first time I saw it.
HylianNarwhal
I watched Insidious in the cinema, was very scary, never want to see that again. And looking occasionally at friends I went with, the friend I was sitting next to looked petrified like he was about to have a heart attack. Also saw Paranormal Activity 3 at the cinema - was a good film, atmosphere was completely ruined by teenage girls nervously screaming and giggling all over the place. Skorpion XBA
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Only the first time I watched it, though. I have seen it thousands of times now that it's not that bad anymore. ^This, when I was a kid and The Exorcist. I usually don't get scared by movies. It's the movies that are based on trued stories that freak me out.

corymonster1
The scariest movie I've seen would have to be one of the Screams. I know they aren't really even scary but it's one of the only horror films I've seen. I heard that the Hostel series is scary. Since it's directed by Eli Roth the king of torture porn, it's probably pretty scary.
Petturi
Couple of movies I was scared as a kid/teen: The Exorcist Jaws The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) Poltergeist Hellraiser The Thing (John Carpenter's)

GrimSovereignty
The movie that scared me the most would have to be the original Exorcist...that movie gave me quite a few nightmares. I am fine watching any type of horror movie except those dealing with demons and possessions.

Jamski
Hands down it's got to be Paranormal Activity. It's still the only film to really scare me.
heartswarm
Gotta agree with GrimSovereignty about The Exorcist & possession films. Something just gets right under my skin about them - and I'm not even religious. :/ Hands down the scariest film I've ever seen, though, is [REC]. There was a terrible American remake called Quarantine, which should be avoided. But the original Spanish film frightened me a lot.
DJConnelly
The grudge is just about the only horror film I find really scary. The first one. Though I've read plenty of reviews saying otherwise. I fucking hate it. And by hate it I mean watch it whenever it is on T.V. Shame the Americans came along and fucked up number 2 and 3. And probably 4. The descent made me jump a few times though I must say. My hobby is watching horror movies in my leisure time and here i want to share my favourite horror movie is : Wrong Turn Dead End 3 _____________________________ That's pretty damn bad. Really bad. hydrosugar
Just a tad disturbing? I'm not very squeamish. I'm more disturbed by things such as the success of Paranormal Activity and Transformers than any actual gruesome movie scenes. I think it's just the Internet generation I'm a part of, many of us aren't phazed by anything.
