Introduction

Welcome to Dragons Dogma, an RPG by Capcom with many innovative aspects and features. The game features an online recruitment aspect that allows you to incorporate other gamers characters into your party and have them fight along side you. An intense loot system, weapon and armor upgrading, and challenging enemies will keep you entertained for hours. Overall the game is not too hard and should be no problem getting the full 1k

Playthrough 1

During this playthrough, you should be able to get almost every achievement except one, The Ever Turning Wheel, which requires you to play a second time. You will most likely get The Coin Collector on your second playthrough as well. Concentrate on finishing all quests and 50 notice board quests. Make sure to follow this guide HERE so you dont miss any quests. If you do happen to miss some, however, the progress carries over into NG+. Try building a strong and balanced party as well. Check out the pawn recruitment thread HERE to pick up some really strong pawns. Most of the other achievements will come naturally from gameplay

Playthrough 2

Aside from having to complete this playthrough, this is pretty much a mop up from the first one. If theres any achievements that you had missed, they can easily be obtained in the second playthrough. Once again Ill note: If you had missed any quests from your first playthrough, the progress will carry over to NG+, so you only need to do the quests that you missed and the achievement will pop right after you have completed that quest. Dont worry about failing quests that you already had completed in your first playthrough. As long as they are not related to any quest you still need to do for the Hero achievement, the achievement will unlock upon completing the last of the quests you missed

Conclusion

Overall not a hard 1k at all. As long as you have a balanced party and level up consistently, there should be no problems

If you have any questions, please post in this thread: HERE :and not over XBL

Before starting, read

THIS about the games save system

For information on missable quests/The Hero, check out Powerman1469s thread HERE

The following achievements are story related and cant be missed no matter what

It begins

Onward

A new Ally

Getting a Head

The Courier

Writ Large

Come Courting

The Message

Rough Landing

The following are either missable ending achievements or achievements that are obtained after doing a missable achievement

Solitude: Choose not to fight the Dragon - After doing your main quest, the final battle of the main quest is to fight a dragon. You have a choice to either fight or walk away. Choose to not fight, turn around, and walk away. You will see a cutscene, some credits, and then you will be taken to a reload game screen. That is when the achievement will pop. No need to worry about making a backup save; if you choose reload the game starts you right before you make the choice to fight or not

Destiny: Complete the final battle - Same scenario as above, this time fight the dragon. Not really missable but its tandem to the above achievement

The following achievements are all immediately following the completion of the main quest. You will receive an item called the Godsbane. DONT use it yet

Treacherous: Complete A Warm Welcoming quest - This quest begins immediately after fighting the dragon during the main quest. Its impossible not to receive the quest

Freedom: Complete Fathom Deep quest - You receive this quest from Quince after going into Everfall, and you are tasked with finding 20 wakestones. After you find 20 wakestones and hand them in, the achievement unlocks. NOTE: Once you had them in, you cant return to this spot, and there are several achievements associated with fighting bosses in the Everfall, which will be covered further on the guide

From this point on for the endings, make sure you have Godsbane on your person, which you get automatically from completing the main story and beating the dragon. All following endings are events that take place after you complete the Fathom Deep quest and jump down the hole

Servitude: Die during The Final Judgement - Right after you complete the Fathom Deep quest, you will once again jump down that hole and youll end up in another type of world, and soon youll partake in battle. Let him kill you. You will see a cutscene, some credits, and you will be taken to a reload screen, and thats when the achievement pops. Reload and it will take you right back to the beginning of the fight

Peace: Choose not to proceed with The Final Judgement quest - After fighting with the guy above, you will see some more cutscenes and then you will be given another choice. Either proceed straight and continue on with the quest, or turn around and walk away. Choose to turn around and walk away. You will see a cutscene and you will be taken back to Cassadris, in the same clothes that you started the game with. After you get control of your guy, go to the exit gates and you will get a cutscene, some credits, and a reload screen. This is when your achievement will pop. Choose to reload and it will take you right back to before you made the decision

Mercy: Complete The Final Judgement quest - Same as above, this time choose to proceed. You will then walk by some people trying to attack you ( I chose not to attack them back; I just ran. Not sure if thats important or not). After that you will have one last boss battle. Finish it.

Closure: Stab yourself with the Godsbane - After the boss fight above, you will be in a sort of limbo. Go over to the seat and sit down. You will be taken to Cassardis, but you cant interact with anything so just leave through the exit. You will be back in the other world again. Sit down once more and youll be taken to Grand Soren. Once again just leave. Now, your back at the same world again, take out your Godsbane and stab yourself with it. This will start you a new game plus, allowing you to keep all your stats and equipment. The achievement will then pop.

The following achievements have to do with exploration and reaching certain areas

The Tourist: Discover 50 locations

The Vagabond: Discover 100 lacations

The Explorer: Discover 150 locations

If you are going for the three above achievements, coupled with attempting to complete all quests and 50 notice board quests, then the following achievements will unlock without effort

Into Dripstone Cave

Into the Ancient Quarry

Into Soulflayer Canyon

Into the Manse

Into the Frontier Caverns

I would like to exclude Into the Manse and bring it to your attention with some detail, because I actually missed this one on my first playthrough

Into the Manse: Enter the Blighted Manse during the Duchess in Distress quest: This quest becomes available later on in the game, after you have completed the Wyrm Hunt and met the Duke. Aldous will have some tasks for you, and after finishing them, this quest will become available. More specifically, right after the duke lets you into the treasure room. A girl named Mirabelle can be found outside the Dukes castle. Go up and talk to her and she will give you the Duchess in Distress quest. As long as you complete it, Into the Manse is now unmissable.

The following have to do with vocation and pawns

Human resources: switch your vocation - Earliest place to do this is right after entering Gran Soren. Go to the in and talk to the inn keep. Hell have an option to switch vocations for you and your pawn

Inhuman resources: switch your pawns vocation - Read above

The Specialist: Max out one vocation - Each class has 20 main weapon skills, 12 secondary skills, 9 core skills and 7 augments. Buy all of them in one class to earn achievement

Local Recruit: Enlist a pawn not from the rift - Once you get to the Encampment, after creating your pawn, youll notice other pawns walking around the inside of the Encampment. Simply walk up to one and enlist them

Foreign Recruit: Enlist a pawn from the rift - Dont think this one can be missed. Simply recruit a pawn from inside the rift

The Captain: Hire 70 pawns - Inside or outside the rift. Doesnt matter. You can hire and release the same pawn over again 70x if you want. This can be tracked in the History section

The following achievements have to do with items and equipment

The Savior: Use a wakestone to bring someone back to life - Wakestones and wakestone shards are random loot and treasure that can be found everywhere, although they are somewhat less rare for a while. Three shards make a whole. However, one can be purchased from Fournival I believe, in the Nobles Quarters section of Gran Soren. A quest you will come across requires you to have a wakestone anyways, so save it for that quest if you only have one.

The Knave: Obtain a forged item - You can forge items at the Black Cat in Grand Soren. Try to forge either a quest item or something important, because I forged a pie and didnt get the achievement, but when I forged a quest item, I got it

The Artisan: Combine two items together - Simply combine two items together from your inventory. You should be able to get this within 10 minutes of gameplay

Dragon Forged: Enhance any weapon in wyrmfire - After defeating a dragon, your equipment automatically reaches level 4 (only on you, not your pawn). I got this achievement during the last boss fight of the main story line. None the less, its almost unmissable

Well equipped: Obtain 350 pieces of armor and weapons - This is 350 different pieces. Doesnt matter if you loot it or buy it, as long as you didnt have it before, it will count. This is accumulative. Should come over time; great place to do this though is by farming Everfall. This can be tracked in the History section

The Philanthropist: Gave 50 presents - This is referring to the presents you give NPCs, not the gifts you give to online players. Although I could be wrong on that, I know I gave well over 50 gives to online people and didnt get any achievement that way. Simple way: go to Camellias shop in Gran Soren, buy 50 Harspud juices/potions and present them to her.

The Coin Collector: Collect a total of 10,000,000G - This will come naturally, but most likely with two playthroughs. This doesnt have to be on your person at once; its referring to any piece of gold you loot or earn. Once you totaled 10millG through those means, achievement will pop. Great place to farm gold is the Everfall. Also, selling high level weapons that you get from farming is another way to quickly get this one. This can be tracked in the History Log under the Adventure Tab.

The following achievements have to do with defeating enemies

The Veteran: Defeat 3000 enemies - This should come naturally

Headshunter: Defeat a Hydra or Archhydra - Both the Hydra and Archhydra appear post game. The Hydra can be found in the Frontier Caverns and the Archhydra is found in Everfall in the Chamber of Hesitation

Eye Contact: Defeat the Evil Eye - The Evil Eye is found post game in the Everfall in the Chamber of Confusion (and can be farmed for material/loot in the Chamber of Sorrow)

Serpents Bane: Defeat a Drake, Wyrm, and a Wyvern - The Drake is the only one that can be found during the main game, in Devilswood right outside of the Shadow Fort. The Wyrm can be found post game in the Everfalls in the Chamber of Distress, and the Wyvern can be found post game in Bluemoon Mountain

The Messiah: Defeat the Ur-Dragon - The Ur-Dragon can be found post game in the Everfall, as well as in NG+ on the beach in Cassardis. Look for a special port crystal NOTE: The loot drops are not as good as fighting him in the Everfall. Heres a vid I made showing how to get to him

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZirB3BsU2sw]Dragons Dogma How to get to Ur-Dragon HD - YouTube[/ame]

And his loot drops:

The following achievements have to do with quest completion and misc

The Laborer: Complete 50 board quests - This should come naturally. Alot of them are "Kill X amount of Y" or "Find X amount of Y". These carry over between playthoughs

The Hero: Complete all pre planned, non notice board quests - This requires you to complete all quests and side quests in the game. This can be done in one playthrough with planning. To make sure you dont miss any, go HERE. If you happen to miss some on your first playthrough, progress carries over between playthroughs, so on your second playthrough, you only have to do the quests you missed, and after completing the last of the ones you missed, the achievement will unlock

The Escort: Complete a board escort quest - Straight forward; Just accept an escort quest off any board and complete it

The Patron: Help Madeleine open up her shop in Gran Soren - You first encounter Madeleine in Cassardis. Eventually there will be a quest to escort her to the Encampment. Do so and dont let her die (just to be safe). After arriving, she will eventually ask you if she could borrow 1kG to open up a store. Give her the money. After you reach Gran Soren, you will have to do a number of quests before a quest Chasing Shadows becomes available. Complete this quest, sleep at an inn, and return to the same place you ended the quest, and thats where her shop will be. Talk to her and achievement will pop. Ive heard this and that about this achievement not unlocking, or people never gave her money and she still showed up yadda yadda. This IS how you get this achievement. So if you want to not give her that money and sweat it out, thats on you, but Im pretty sure she wont show up if you dont give her that 1k

Affinity and Beyond: Raise a persons affinity to the max - In order to raise an NPCs affinity, you have to either complete quests for them or give them gifts, or a combination or the two. The Absolute easiest way to raise someones affinity is to give them an Arisens Bond, which is obtained by doing the quest The Dragons Tongue. But if not, raising Madeleines affinity is pretty easy. Alls you do is: Escort her, give her the 1k, complete Chasing Shadows and have her open up her shop. Eventually she will disapear and a new quest will become available. During this you: dont rat her out to the gaurds, give her 50k to open up a new shop again. And thats it, as shes leaving to open up her new shop, achievement will pop. This obviously takes place over a long stretch of time

The Queens Regalia: Dress a male party member in womans clothing - Self explanatory. Easiest way to get this is to go to the Black Cat and buy the set of ladies garments. Just equip it and achievement will pop NOTE: Doing this will also get you in to see Ophis for the Secret Admirer quest

The Ever-Turning Wheel: Play through the game a second time - After doing all your main quest and post game stuff, you can start a NG+ with a clean slate by stabbing yourself with the Godsbane. Everything carries over, an its the exact same thing as it was the first time around. Nothing is different except you now can buy port crystals, and can carry more than 1

Thanks! Great guide!

I was a little nevious about hunting down the Ur-Dragon, Wyrm, and Wyvern.

I'm still in a pickle as I did not keep track of the chambers I entered, so it's duck hunt.

15 chambers can't take that long right? :(

Nonetheless a great game, with a great ending.

I hope it turns into a franchise. I'd love to see where they could take it.

Diferent pieces or total?

Its from finding it in loot and maybe buying it, but Im not sure about buying it though. I would assume. Its accumulative and might take a little grinding if you rushed through the game

Great guide man, especially for all the endgame missable achievements and boss battles !

"The Hero" achievement looks really complicated.

thanks much. I just dont feel like getting into that achievement at all dude. Im crossing them off the guide book this time around, so its only a matter of time before I do them all. When I get it, Ill definitely give any advice I can but I dont want the responsibility of writing a guide for it lol

@bigchilly haha yea it takes sometime. Make sure to go in there well prepared and make sure to have a couple ferrystones incase you need to make a quick exit

In your history How many diferent pieces do you have?

I'm pretty sure this is a 350 DIFERENT pieces not 350 in total

Thanks for the guide!

The Hero, though.. I feel it's gonna be such a stupid achievement to get in this game and all its missable/time-sensitive-but-you-can't-know quests, auto-save-that-overwrites-your-manual-save... and glitches, of course.

Already screwed myself with that Madeleine ach. (and I guess The Hero too for this playthrough...) during the Chasing Shadows quest, since Julien apprently can see through walls!...

Thought maybe I could retry it, so I went to the inn to let a day pass... auto-save.

For The Patron quest, I didn't escort her or even speak to her until halfway through the game. She already had her shop open and I accepted the quest to bring her an idol. The achievement unlocked after I accepted the quest.

For clarification, I believe they were asking if you needed to find 350 unique pieces of equipment, or if you could buy (an exaggeration, but you get the point) 350 Stilettos and have the achievement pop.

Btw, THANK YOU for this psuedo-guide. The ending achievements had me confused as all hell, and I was completely lost on how/when you activated NG+ instead of postgame. Great information here!

Another great helping thread by FLIPA. Nice job buddy, and thank you :)

I will make a Quest guide, but you have to give me a week.

Thanks a lot dude that would be awesome. I have the guide book so Im going to sit down and actually read each quest and see if any of them say anything about it being missable and let you know
