About Guide

This guide is aimed to help you effortlessly and flawlessly find all of the collectibles in Alan Wake. They are listed in the exact order as you should collect them. I have color coordinated them to make it easier to keep your spot. You will want to frequently check your stats screen to make sure you are 100% sure you have gotten the collectibles. I wrote it in a fashion that you should stop after finding a collectible, and read where the next is before continuing on with the game. I have included the Nightmare modes in the list, and as sepsrate at the bottom of the guide depending on what's easier for you to tackle it. I wrote them for you to ignore completely on your first playthrough, so don't worry about getting lost if you don't read them. Also, you if you want to have both pages up, check out the achievement guide HERE if you're going for all 1000 points in the game. Though if you don't use it, you will still most likely get all of the achievements anyways.

I will attach a copy of the Word Document version of this guide. It might be a good idea so that you can highlight/delete the collectibles you get. It will be in the last post with the Radio Show info. I will also try to post any updates if there are errors, but they will not be contained in that document. Download the document but read the updates posted there too.

Important Info About These Collectibles:

The collectibles are different in their own ways as far as your game keeping track of them. When replaying chapters, any thermos that you found will not appear. Radios, TVs, Can Pyramids, Signs, Supply Chests, and Manuscripts will all be in the game again. Manuscripts and Radios have a feature to see what ones you have and read/listen to them again in the main menu. It's a nice way to be able to keep track of what you have. None of the other collectibles offer this kind of support.

Checkpoints: When you hit a checkpoint, in your mind pretend that you just manually saved your game. Now picture you had forgotten a collectible and backtracked after saving. If you die or reload your checkpoint save, you will essentially lose the data you had found. The same goes for ammo you collect, many times you will find yourself recollecting ammo right next to a checkpoint, because the game saved as you arrived. However, kill statistics save automatically, as well as manuscripts.

Always remember when in doubt, check your stats. This hold especially true for signs, as they aren't physically collected. Sometimes you must read more than one sign for it to count, so always check after signs!

Missable Achievement Info:

To make things as easy as possible, as you follow the guide you will also run into every missable achievement, at the point in time you need to know about them. The only achievements not listed are story related and combat related.

Conclusion:

As you can see, there is a lot of text in the collectible guide. I tried to be as descriptive as I could, so even if there are unmissable looking collectibles, realize some people can stray off in the game. The game sometimes has a few short cuts or different routes other than the main route. If you notice any major grammatical error, improper description, or even if I colored one of the collectibles wrong, please refrain from listing it in this thread. Instead, send me a PM and I'll fix it.

The Signal DLC Update:

If you have downloaded the Signal DLC and would like a collectibles guide for that, you may go to the link here: "The Signal: Color Coded Guide and Video". It's set up to make sure you get all of those collectibles too.

Episode 1

A Writer’s Dream

Coffee Thermos (1/100): The first collectible is located just moments after you are able to move. Run down the road until you get to the broken bridge (sign says “Welcome to Night Springs above bridge). It is in clear view.

Can Pyramid (1/12): The “light” will give you a gun. The cans are on the fence to the right for target practice (well, not technically since the game doesn’t mention them).

Coffee Thermos (2/100): After grabbing the flare out of the red emergency box (you will have killed a few enemies after the tutorial on how to fight), you will see stairs leading down into a small concrete building. It is on top of the crate. If by accident you dropped off the side where you have to fight 3 enemies, you will have to use the rock by the ledge you fell from. Hop on the rock, facing the wall. Turn 90 degrees to face the other edge, and jump towards it, hitting the jump button a few times to get back up.

Coffee Thermos (3/100): On the path to the lighthouse, you will have to run from a tornado. On the right side just before the lighthouse you will see a bench with the thermos on it.

Welcome to Bright Falls

Coffee Thermos (4/100): After a cut scene you will be in a diner. As soon as your obsessed fan Rose stops talking (kind of) run to the neon “Oh Deer Diner” sign you’re facing. You will have to run to the left, as the right side is blocked off.

Misc: Notice the juke box in the diner and make sure you press the button on it to make it play. Specifically make sure you hit the button after coming back from the rest room area, after meeting the lady in black. There will be another time listed later on where you get an achievement for pressing it again.

Coffee Thermos (5/100): Another cut scene after the diner will ensue. When you’re at the bridge that says Diver’s Isle on the sign, (when you’ve reached the cabin after the cut scene) turn around and run back up the hill a ways until you get to your car and a focus action sequence about the island is available. There will be the thermos in front by the cliff.

Radio Show (1/11): Once you have gotten across the bridge you will find Bird Leg Cabin. Head inside and out the back door to the porch. It will be just to your right.

Coffee Thermos (6/100): Return inside the cabin and take a right into the kitchen. It is on the counter next to the left of the stove.

Waking Up to a Nightmare

Manuscript (1/106): On your way to the gas station after another car mishap, you will enter a cut scene which gives you the first two manuscripts. This cannot be missed.

Manuscript (2/106): You get this automatically along with the first manuscript.

Nightmare Mode Manuscript (92/106): Going towards your main objective, you will find a fence to the lumber mill that you must jump over. There’s a tree that’s on the damaged fence. Look to the left, it’s in plain view on the other fallen tree. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

Coffee Thermos (7/100): After traveling to the first lumber yard after the car incident, you will be greeted with a short cut scene with Stucky. Afterwards, run under/through the claws of the yellow “Log Loader” and you’ll find it behind the white pickup truck.

Manuscript (3/106): From the last thermos, turn around and head straight a short ways and stop when you take your left. It is on the ground in front of you.

Supply Chest (1/30): After the little wooden building gets knocked off the cliff (you have to jump out of it via the door space before it actually falls), head straight towards a gate killing the two enemies. You can go left and follow the truck carrying the logs and find the chest tucked away there. There are a bunch of yellow arrows to show you the way if you shine your light on them. There is even a light you turn on (to your right) the shows the first arrow to follow. (Contains a flare gun).

Manuscript (4/106): After the first chest, you will jump a fence (after you’ve kicked the electrical box). Move forward and defeat the enemy. Look left and up a hill and you will see a small structure with a rusty tractor sticking out of it. It is on the wall.

Coffee Thermos (8/100): Shortly after the manuscript you will be crossing above a river over a fallen tree (that ends up looking like a bird leg). Once you step off of the fallen tree, head to your left. Keep running almost until you reach the end. The thermos is on a rock to your right.

Manuscript (5/106): After grabbing the thermos, head straight back, crossing the rocks over the river. Keep heading straight and to the right, and you’ll end up crossing tree trunks laid down creating a bridge. It’s to your right after crossing, by the barrel.

Nightmare Mode Manuscript (93/106): After you have crossed the log bridges you will see it on your path as you move along the last rocks crossing the river. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

Supply Chest (2/30): Once you climb up away from the river, and fight two enemies, you notice a sign that says “Caution”. Go left here and up the ladder on the logs. There are yellow arrows (when light is on them) in various parts to point you in the right direction. Continue up to the shack and it’s in the back. (Contains lithium batteries).

Coffee Thermos (9/100): After grabbing the supply chest, head back and you’ll get to the broken wooden stairs. There is a power box that has a red light blinking if you turn left after the stairs. After examining it, turn facing the opposite direction, and run straight until you see it on a rock to your right.

Manuscript (6/106): After heading towards the generator you must power up, next to it is a small shed. Go in and it’s on the table in front of you. There is also a shotgun on the shelves to the right.

Can Pyramid (2/12): After you’ve started the generator and have gone across the logs you made accessible with the crane, run to the broken bridge to the right and you’ll find the cans stacked on a table.

Radio Show (2/11): Head up the hill after the broken bridge towards the light. There is an easy to spot radio on a barrel inside the shack. There is also shotgun ammo on the window opening.

Supply Chest (3/30): After getting the radio show inside the shed by the light, head behind the said shack and you’ll spot a shed area with a rusty vehicle by it. It’s in the back. (Contains flare gun ammo).

Manuscript (7/106): After running up the path after the light by the shack, it’s on the top of the slope to the left of some wooden poles.

Coffee Thermos (10/100): After the last manuscript, head straight and to the right by the cliff’s edge.

Coffee Thermos (11/100): After continuing from the last thermos, jump down to the next path and head to the generator and light (Safe Haven). Straight ahead of you (Safe Haven behind you) you’ll see a cliff. Turn left and follow this cliff (cliff is on your right while you run). You’ll soon come to the thermos. Be careful, as enemies will be spawning around you.

Manuscript (8/106): Continue on from the last thermos and head up the hill. It’s very dark, so it is easy to spot the manuscript, as it’s along the path you will be going on towards the other light.

Supply Chest (4/30): Once you get to the said new light, you’ll notice an emergency supplies cabinet by the fence. From here, turn to your left and follow the path and you’ll jump down into a new path with a crane/bulldozer type vehicle in front of you. Move left and up the hill to the right to find this supply chest. (Contains flare ammo).

Manuscript (9/106): Upon arriving to the third and final lumber yard, it is right in front of the gate.

TV Show (1/14): In order to open the gate at the final lumber yard you must go inside the little utility building to press the gate button. Right by the button is the television.

Coffee Thermos (12/100): After you fight Stucky and crew at the final lumber yards area, head straight under the swinging logs and you’ll see it to the right on the crane machine.

Manuscript (10/106): When you arrive at the gas station, head to the deer float to the left of the gas station. It’s right behind it.

Coffee Thermos (13/100): Continue past the float and to your left is a neon sign (says Gasoline). Below that sign is the thermos.

Coffee Thermos (14/100): Once you’ve picked up the previous thermos, run straight and onto the road. Head until it’s blocked off, and the thermos is on the right.

Nightmare Mode Manuscript (94/106): When you first had started the level you may have noticed the bright manuscript on the back of the gas station during the auto focused viewing. Go around the gas station to the back and it’s by the restroom doors. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

TV Show (2/14): Once you go into the garage at the gas station, the television will turn on by itself and give you a focus action option.

Sign (1/25): Go into the gas station garage follow it into the shop. Head straight and it’s on the left of you. It’s a sign that says “The 68th Annual Deerfest”.

Episode 2

Sheriff’s Station

Coffee Thermos (15/100): The episode starts with a flashback. Go into the room Alice is in and you’ll see it by the computer.

Manuscript (11/106): In the next room after the thermos, on the desk.

Manuscript (12/106): Given along with 11th manuscript.

Sign (2/25): After the flashback you’ll be in the sheriff’s station. You will have to talk to the sheriff and pick up your cell phone from her. Along that hallway, there is a “missing person’s” board with pictures and info. You need to read the one with 3 men on it, and the one to the left if it. Both are required to be read, check your statistics to make sure you it counted.

Coffee Thermos (16/100): After getting your phone and heading towards the “cell area” door, instead of turning into it, head straight into the room ahead. You’ll see the thermos by the coffee maker.

Manuscript (13/106): On the floor in the same room by the coffee table.

Manuscript (14/106): Enter the cell area and it’s on the prison bed in the third cell.

Radio Show (3/11): After exiting the sheriff’s station from the back door (after the cell area) head straight and you’ll see the radio.

Coffee Thermos (17/100): Right next to the radio described above.

Manuscript (15/106): Once you get to the back parking lot, you will have to break a fence by kicking it. To the right of the rusty truck is the manuscript on a rock.

TV Show (3/14): Heading back into the sheriff’s station, along the cell area a television will turn on by itself.

Elderwood National Park

Sign (3/25): Once you’re able to move again after the cut scene from the end of the sheriff’s station, look to your left at the mammoth skeleton. Read the sign in front of it “Buck-Toothed Charlie”.

Coffee Thermos (18/100): Now walk over to talk to Barry. Behind the register you’ll spot a thermos in the window frame.

Coffee Thermos (19/100): Another cut scene and you are with Barry in a cabin. Head down the stairs to the kitchen and it’s on the counter.

Coffee Thermos (20/100): Once out of the cabin, head all the way around to the back (where the locked door was, the yard has a well) and it’s on the porch by a hot tub.

Manuscript (16/106): Once you go down the steps from the cabin, right next to the yellow vehicle on the left side.

Radio Show (4/11): As you run down the path heading for “Lover’s Peak”, you will find a radio inside of the first cabin you see on route.

TV Show (4/14): Continue along the path, and you’ll find a second cabin. Kick the door in and take a break to watch the show.

Manuscript (17/106): Once you’re back on the trail, you’ll find a phone booth. Go towards the booth and follow the trail. It’s in the gazebo.

Manuscript (18/106): Return to the normal path and find this manuscript behind the car (which either crashed or ran out of gas) on the side of the road.

Coffee Thermos (21/100): Continue on the trail and some pretty loud event happens, and you must help Rusty. Instead of rushing to his aid, you’ll see another car that looks like it crashed before you get to the concrete area. The wooden storage shed right next to it contains the thermos.

Manuscript (19/106): From the coffee thermos, head out the shed door and continue straight under the fallen tree. It will be to your right on the short rock wall.

Coffee Thermos (22/100): After you obtain the keys from Rusty, run towards the opposite building (the Park Ranger Office) and instead of going inside, run to the left of it. Behind the building in front of a tree is the thermos.

Manuscript (20/106): After the thermos, now head inside the building. As soon as you enter, you’ll see it shining brightly at the end of a hallway to your right.

Manuscript (21/106): After a phone conversation with Barry, you’ll find yourself at a very bright light with a with a picnic table made of logs by it. It’s right on the table.

Sign (4/25): You’ll eventually come to a wooden bridge after some steps with a river far below. Instead of heading right to Lover’s Peak, continue on the wooden area which leads into the cave. You’ll go through a gate door first, then you’ll find the sign towards the back of the cave.

Supply Chest (5/30): While traveling in the Moonshine cave you might notice the yellow arrows pointing to the end of the cave, which contains the chest. You will get the “Finders Keepers” achievement here for grabbing your 5th chest in the game. (Contains lithium batteries).

Manuscript (22/106):You’ll come to another bridge over the water, and take a right at the fork in the road (Lover’s Peak is to your left). At the end of the trail and in front of two picnic tables, you’ll find it on the ground.

Sign (5/25): After being introduced to the new type of enemy (the brute guy which takes more shots to take down) you’ll come to a tree that has a hollowed bottom that you can walk through. The sign is right in front of it and read “The Great Old One”.

Coffee Thermos (23/100): You’ll soon come to yet another bridge, this one with a bright light above it, which turns off (you can turn it back on with a generator). There is a path to the right of it with a small picnic area. Run past the broken phone booth and jump over the broken part of the fence to get the thermos on the rocks. (You’ll see another thermos you can’t get yet below, but that’s not a good idea to jump from that point).

Manuscript (23/106): Back on path, right below a directional sign that says “Lover’s Peak”.

Coffee Thermos (24/100): Eventually you’ll come to a Safe Haven light and can’t continue the normal route to Lover’s Peak (there’s a tree that fell on the gate). You can however jump the fence to the left, but instead you’ll want to take the path leading to the right of this area first. There is a thermos by a readable sign on a picnic table.

Sign (6/25): Right after the above thermos, read the sign that says “Dates from 1846, the year of the Oregon Treaty”. It’s extremely easy to notice, as it’s by a section of a tree trunk cut out and hanging by chains.

Manuscript (24/106): After jumping the fence by the blocked gate to Lover’s Peak, run directly straight (to the left of the wooden path) and you’ll find it on the rock.

Coffee Thermos (25/106): At one point you’ll have to use flares to fend off attackers as “the kidnapper” tries to unlock a gate staircase type structure. Go up the structure and you’ll come to an archway with a heart on the top. This is Lover’s Peak, and is just cool scenic overlook. Next to the archway is a map, and the coffee thermos is behind the map. Once obtained you’ll receive the “Damn Good Cup of Coffee” achievement.

Supply Chest (6/30): After the scene that takes place at Lover’s Peak and you’ve fallen to the section below, turn around and see a bright blue waterfall. Run down the steep rock area and you’ll see the chest to the left in a small cavern. (Contains flares and batteries).

Manuscript (25/106): Head back along the normal path after the chest and you’ll come to a fallen tree bridge. Right in front of it in plain sight is the manuscript. You will receive the “Paging Mr. Wake” achievement.

Manuscript (26/100): You’ll eventually travel on a trail full of bear traps. You’ll find yourself in an open area with a water mill in sight, and the manuscript at the edge of the cliff.

Can Pyramid (3/12): From the last manuscript you got, turn around and to your left on a barrel are the cans.

Coffee Thermos (26/100): After crossing the logs over the water, and going upwards to a generator you can turn on to create a Safe Haven, you’ll see a shack behind the generator. The thermos is inside.

Manuscript (27/106): Coming from the last said shack, you’ll see a second shack. It has the manuscript as well as a hunting rifle inside.

Supply Chest (7/30): After the generator continue down until you see a plane on the right. Run to the back of the plane and through it. It will make the plane’s front go down (like a seesaw) and you will now have access to jump on the wing. Go to the back of the plane again, use the rock to jump up on the wing, and follow the path until the chest. (Contains 2 flares).

Coffee Thermos (27/100): Once you’ve finished with the plane and jumped down again, head straight and to the right a little ways to find the Safe Haven light. Now, continue forward and you’ll be on a cliff and facing the water mill. Turn to your right and you’ll see the thermos on other cliff which is closest to the water mill.

Manuscript (28/106): Once you reach the mill, head up the ladder, make your way across the unstable part, then get inside. Go up the stairs until you can go inside a room. Go in and exit to the balcony and the manuscript is right there.

Manuscript (29/106): Now go up the next stairs and kick the weight. The wooden elevator will come up and you can now jump across it and grab the manuscript.

Coffee Thermos (28/106): The room following the last manuscript has a thermos in the back corner.

Manuscript (30/106): Exit the mill via the ladder and you’ll see a shack to your left (you’ll see the creepy message in yellow and fight a brute). Inside, you’ll see boxes you can jump on to get on top of big crates. Fall on the opposite side, and find the manuscript on the box to the right.

Coffee Thermos (29/106): After a chainsaw guy fight and a Safe Haven, you’ll cross a bridge to the campgrounds. Right when you pass the campgrounds sign on your right, just after the bridge, look to your right on the picnic table.

Manuscript (31/106): Inside the campgrounds on the left, you’ll see a tire swing and the restroom with a map in the middle. It says closed, but go on in. To the right of the garbage can by the map is the manuscript. If you’re brave, run into the women’s restroom (it’s being renovated anyways right?). You can grab some rifle ammo if you need it.

TV Show (5/14): In the men’s bathroom once you’ve grabbed the keys, you’ll be treated to a show before you walk out.

Coffee Thermos (30/100): After getting in the truck and the driving instructions appear, drive through the gate the axe enemy broke and take a right at when you see the street. You cannot continue, but will notice the thermos at the barricade. Hit the :bbut: button to get out of the truck.

Supply Chest (8/30): After you get back in your truck, continue the opposite way until you see a logging truck in the middle of the street. On the right of that truck is a trail that leads to a shack with the crate inside. I got out of my truck and ran, but you can probably drive most or all of the way. (Contains flares).

Can Pyramid (4/12): At the end of the concrete road while driving, you’ll see road blocks at the entrance of a tunnel. Get out on foot and go left and follow until you reach the Safe Haven light. Underneath in plain site are the cans on a picnic table. (You can potentially use the truck to go up the hill, but if you want the collectibles you'll have to get out).

Manuscript (32/106): After crossing the big bridge, there will be a tunnel if you keep going straight. Inside the tunnel (as far as the game lets you go) is the manuscript.

Coffee Thermos (31/100): Exit the tunnel and head to your right. Follow the fence until you get to the thermos which is on a picnic table.

Nightmare Mode Manuscript (95/106): At the end of the level as you’re making your way back to Barry in the cabin, you’ll find it in the middle of your path, just before the cabin. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

Supply Chest (9/30): Once you make your way back up to the original cabin where Barry is, you’ll see swarms of crows everywhere. Head back around the cabin to where the well is (you saw this earlier when getting a different collectible) and you’ll find the chest if you run past and a little left by a rock. This chest does not appear until you get to this portion of the game. (Contains Flare ammo).

Misc: There are tons of birds at the end of this episode that will be attacking you. This is the best spot to get all your bird kills (you need 1000). After you're done killing them, reload your checkpoint. Use the flares and you'll get tons of kills.

Episode 3

On The Run

Coffee Thermos (32/100): At the start of the episode, follow Randolph until he comments on a boat falling from the sky (where you can do a focus action). Now turn so you are facing right, and you’ll see it on a picnic table.

TV Show (6/14): After you’ve knocked on Rose’s door, watch the cut scene. When it’s over the television will turn on by itself (right in front of you playing).

Coffee Thermos (33/100): As you exit the room with television, walk straight and look left into the kitchen. It’s on the counter.

Manuscript (33/106): Once you exit Rose’s trailer, you’ll notice it on your path by her fence.

Radio Show (5/11): After grabbing the manuscript, run straight until you see stepping stones on the ground leading through a fence. You’ll see it on some stairs as you pass the fence.

Manuscript (34/106): There will be a cut scene with some police and then you’ll be on foot running in the forest. Keep following the trail a good ways, and shortly after you have to jump up a rock and then fall from a point (where you can’t get back up) you’ll see it to the left on the trail (on the end of a tree trunk).

Manuscript (35/106): As you continue, you’ll see a police car crash in slow motion. Follow the road to the right of the car where it crashed. It’s at the end to the left.

Coffee Thermos (34/100): After the helicopter scene, run up the steps of the tower in plain sight. There is a thermos inside.

Coffee Thermos (35/100): After exiting the tower and making your way to the search light that needs power, to the right you’ll notice a wood creating a ramp to a rock. It’s on the rock.

Radio Show (6/11): You’ll continue on for a while and be introduced to flashbang grenades. Head to the Safe Haven light which has more flashbangs and batteries to grab. Right by the flashbangs is the radio.

Manuscript (36/106): Right after you listen to the radio, run across the bridge and look directly right, following the edge (heading backwards) to the manuscript.

Supply Chest (10/30): Keep going sticking to the main path (has tons of leaves all over it). You will eventually come to a fork in this path, the left having a police car. The rock by the path going to the right has an arrow. Follow the right path to the cave with a generator and the supply chest. (Contains some flares).

Coffee Thermos (36/100): Now continue on to the radio station and there is a thermos under the billboards to the left of the station.

Radio Show (7/11): This radio is automatic. When you get to the actual radio station, go inside. The host is having a conversation with a lady who called in to his show. Once the discussion is over, it will register automatically.

Manuscript (37/106): After the radio station cut scene, head down the path and you’ll see it in plain sight on the fence.

Manuscript (38/106): Upon arriving at a generator to create the Safe Haven, face the light. Now turn to your right, and run up that path. Once you’ve hit the wall, keep it to your right (you would have taken a left basically) as you continue and you’ll eventually start winding up the cliff. Go all the way up and it’s by the radio tower at the top.

Coffee Thermos (37/100): As you make your way down the cliff from the radio tower, you’ll encounter some crows attacking you. You’ll notice as you go down, there is a cliff to your left that gives you a great view of the radio station. It’s on the cliff at the tip.

Can Pyramid (5/12): You will come to a truck with a light next to it. There in the middle is a shack with a shotgun and ammo in it. To the left of this shack is another smaller shack with the cans inside. (This should unlock the “Carny” achievement. You can skip the can pyramids from this point on if you wish).

Manuscript (39/106): Once you’ve grabbed the shotgun in the main shack and fended off “The Taken”, make sure you’re back in the shack facing where you grabbed the shotgun. Turn right, head out the door and follow the path straight until you get to the fence with the manuscript.

Coffee Thermos (38/100): After the manuscript, head back and follow the trail to your right (instead of going back into the shack). You’ll see it in yet another of the smaller shacks.

Manuscript (40/106): Continue on the trail from the last thermos and you’ll see it to your right on a rock.

Manuscript (41/106): Again, another one on the main trail to your objective to your right on a tree stump, after a phone call.

Supply Chest (11/30): Instead of going ahead facing the stump, turn around and head the opposite way to grab a supply chest in the shack. (Contains flares and batteries).

Manuscript (42/106): You’ll go through a train bridge and poltergeists controlling various objects will be attacking you. Make sure you go way up the hill as you exit to your left, and it will be next to the ladder.

Nightmare Mode Manuscript (96/106): Read the above description. Instead of going up left, once you get to the red canister, go right. It’s on a stump. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

Coffee Thermos (39/100): After you climb the ladder, move forward and you’ll see it to your right on a pallet after you drop down.

Can Pyramid (12/12): The cans are on the top floor outside on the deck. (Warning: If you are going for the Gunless Wonder achievement, try to jump and use your body to knock them over instead of firing a gun at them!).

Nightmare Manuscript (105/106): When you get to the scrap yard (Larsen’s) you’ll find it on a table on the second floor. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

Coffee Thermos (95/100): While driving though the junkyard you’ll notice a ramp. Before going off of it, get out of the truck and grab the thermos far to the right side on some wood.

Manuscript (89/106): Again on foot shortly after the ramp, you’ll be at a Safe Haven, and next to it is an oven with the manuscript on it.

Supply Chest (28/30): Escape the junkyard and drive up the hill. Alan will start talking once you get to the light. To the left of the light is a shack with the chest. (Contains flashbangs).

Coffee Thermos (96/100): Continue your path, and soon you will see an area in which you’ll be ambushed. After the ambush, head inside the little building on the right side called Hollowax. It’s inside.

Manuscript (90/106): After the ambush with the searchlight. Push the mine cart to enter the building. In the back in front of the fireplace is the manuscript.

Supply Chest (29/30): You will ride a mine cart for a short period. When it comes to an end, get out and run past the Safe Haven and left of it, through the crashed train car. (Contains flashbangs, flares, flare gun ammo).

Coffee Thermos (97/100): Climb the ladder near the Safe Haven onto the wooden platform. You will have to push a mine cart while birds attack you in order to proceed. At the end of that straightaway, there is a covered wooden area. It’s in the back of that area behind a wooden pole.

Coffee Thermos (98/100): After a good distance traveled a truck will drop from the sky. Keep going and something else will fall from the sky. As you make your way, on your left you’ll see another red train cart like the one you went through to get the last supply chest. It’s in there in the front.

Supply Crate (30/30): After going up a bunch of wooden stairs, you’ll end up with a building on your right and a burn barrel with flames on your left. It’s inside the building, on the right side. You will gain the achievement “Every Nook and Cranny”. (Contains flares, flashbangs).

Coffee Thermos (99/100): Once you’ve jumped out of the building with the chest, turn around and head to the rusty silo. It’s behind it.

Nightmare Manuscript (106/106): Where you need to power a lift, look behind the generator and it’s on the fence. Getting this last manuscript will give you the “Collector’s Edition” achievement. (NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY APPEAR ON YOUR SECOND PLAY IN NIGHTMARE MODE).

Manuscript (91/106): Start the generator up and get on the elevator. Step off and it is right in front of you. This is the last of the normal game mode’s manuscripts. You will unlock the achievement “Picking Up After Yourself”.

The Dark Place

Coffee Thermos (100/100): Once you have defeated the tornado you will be in your apartment. After a cut scene once you’ve done the objectives, you’ll be in another weird sequence. There are words everywhere. Next to the couch there is the word “thermos”. Shine your flashlight on it and one will show up. Collect this last one and you’ll get the “Hypercaffeinated” achievement.

Conclusion

You have found all collectibles except possibly the Nightmare Manuscripts. On your second run through the game, remember to pick these up. They are listed in the guide so in case you missed any regular collectibles, you can still use the same guide. Otherwise, the post below has a nightmare only collectible guide. You can use either one or both.

Nightmare Manuscript (10/15): Episode 5 (Bright Falls Light & Power): After the bridge and two control rooms, and once you’ve went into the building where the lady asks you to go to the floodgates and hit a switch, you’ll go down some concrete steps with a fence to your left as you move down. Run left and around the fence through two big wire wheels, and you’ll spot it on the rock.

Nightmare Manuscript (11/15): Episode 5 (Bright Falls Light & Power): Read the manuscript definition above. (This concludes the guide. I have attached a copy of the original document I wrote in Word in case anyone wants to print it off or use it as a check off list. 21 Pages) Listed below will be updates in case there is an error of any sort found.

Also remember, you can check out my achievement guide HERE. The thread is locked, but please feel free to still read it, as it compliments this guide (as finishing the rest of the achievements off).

UPDATES:

Supply chest 18: I mention a windmill that you keep to your left. I then say "Head inside" but I didn't mention it's a barn type building that you must head inside. Most people will assume I meant head inside the windmill, which is not correct.

Can Pyramid (9/12): I accidently labeled two can pyramids as 9/12. I have updated the second 9 to a 10 to help with any confusion, though it since most people stop at 5 not many will notice this error.

Radio 6/11: The radio I point you to is actually not a radio show. The show will be automatic once you get to the actual radio station and hear the host talking. You do not have to do anything. I also updated the radio messages, as I had listed the radios but not the misable achievement recordings. (Thanks Masterwolf!)

NOTE: Anyone downloading the document below (attatched files) after May 24th, 2010 will have the above updates. Those updates are for only those who downloaded it prior.

Updates 2.0

Coffee Thermos 6/100 is actually the last collectible in Welcome to Bright Falls, and not the first in Waking Up to a Nightmare. All the info is correct, but I listed it down a space on accident.

Manuscript 44/106: I changed this description as the red building is actually on your left, not on your right!

For Can Pyramids 11 and 12, try using your body to knock the cans over if you're going for Gunless Wonder. (Thanks Dathsoth for this idea).

Can Pyramid 4: I have gotten some feedback about people driving to the cabin thinking I meant literally to drive until you are forced out of the car. What I really meant was drive until you get to a barrier, which is on the main road. Off-roading will work on nightmare though!

Oh man this is some nice work, been waiting ages for webb to put his in chronological order instead of having to go up and down the pages trying to find each different collectible. Thanks Tyger, this is going to help me loads. I also love how the admins and mods sticky their work and then some one does an awsome guide like this and it isnt stickied.

You are an absolute legend thank you so much! Just a note for anyone bothered by the .docx format. You can open this file by importing it into google docs, which will convert it to a .pdf if you need to print it. No dramas!
