Achievement Guide and Road Map

Overview:

+Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10

+Offline: 4 (145)

+Online: 3 (105)

+Approximate amount of time to 250: 50-100+

+Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1

+Number of missable achievements: None

+Do cheat codes disable achievements? No codes

+Does difficulty affect achievements? No

+Glitchy achievements? None

+Unobtainable achievements? None

+Extra equipment needed? No

Step 1, the easy stuff:

First you'll want to knock out the easier achievements. Find yourself a group to do the two Versus achievements. Then you'll want to tackle the Beast and Horde achievements. That will take a few hours even on Casual, but there's really not much challenge in them.

Step 2, the hard stuff:

Now you'll want to work on getting any ribbons you're missing. Many will have come from doing the achievements in the main game (especially if you got Seriously 3.0) and the two previous DLCs. Some of these will take either a large amount of skill, luck or help to unlock. See the achievement below for a link to the guide.

Step 3, the time consuming stuff:

Now you just need to grind any experience you have left on your way to your second Level 100. Once you've earned a total of 7,703,500 experience (assuming you re-upped directly after getting your first level 100 and were not forced to waste any) you can perform your second "re-up" and you should be done with this DLC.

Conclusion: The time for this one is going to depend highly on what level you were and how many ribbons you had when you started. If you were already level 100 with all 132 ribbons, you'll just need to grind to level 100 again. If you were only halfway on both those goals, you'll need considerably more time. The difficulty is largely based on the annoyance of a few ribbons that take some luck or coordination. Definitely the hardest and most time consuming DLC yet, but still not too horribly difficult.

Complete all 12 waves of Beast on all Fenix Rising maps.

You can do this alone or with a group and on any difficulty, a full group on Casual obviously being the easiest. You will need to complete a full match (12 consecutive waves) on each of the following five maps:

  • Academy
  • Anvil
  • Depths
  • Escalation
  • The Slab

Complete all 50 waves of Horde on any of the Fenix Rising maps.

This does not have to be done in one sitting, though every wave will need to be completed at some point. You can do it on Casual to knock it out more easily, and find some friends to help if you want (though you can do it solo if need be). You only need to do one of the five available maps, not all of them like the Beast achievement. See "Now They Begin to Understand" for a list of the Fenix Rising maps.

Most people seem to find Escalation to be easiest solo. Others have suggested The Slab. Take a tour of each and see if you can find a comfortable spot to defend if you can't find (or don't feel like finding) a group to do this with.

Win a Versus multiplayer match as a team of five Recruit Claytons (any mode).

Find a group of four other people (or you can get a minimum of two others if they both use second profiles) and make sure everyone has their online COG character set to Recruit Clayton, and their Locust character set to Savage Marauder. Simply join your favorite Versus game mode and play until you've won a match from both sides with everyone having their proper skins loaded. Note that this CAN be done in Private matches and does not have to be the normal public Versus.

To find a group for this, use this thread.

Win a Versus multiplayer match as a team of five Savage Marauders (any mode).

See "Come to Poppa!" for more information.

Achieve level 100 and choose to re-up for another tour of duty.

Level 100 requires 3,851,750 experience to unlock. The easiest way to boost your experience will come from earning (and re-earning) Onyx medals - see this thread for a full list and guide for those. There are many medals that can be quickly boosted by yourself (some require two controllers), though you'll get a ton of experience working on the other achievements in the game and the other DLC as well. Different methods work for different people, and some just like to earn experience as they play the Versus mode normally. Do what feels right for you and try to make it something you'll enjoy so this isn't a complete annoyance.

To physically "re-up" once you have hit level 100, go to the "Stats and Awards" screen and press :xbut:.

Note: If you have already reached Level 100 prior to this DLC being released, NONE of the experience you earned after that will carry over to your second tour of duty when you choose to re-up. You will start back at Level 1 with nothing.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1401/UP7WloI=.jpgAgain! 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

Achieve level 100 a second time and choose to re-up for another tour.

Remember what we did for "Time to Re-Up!" just a second ago? Do it again. That's right, another 3,851,750 experience and another option to "re-up" your profile, at what will essentially be level 200. But hey, at least that's the last time you'll need to do this for an achievement... right, Epic?

Note: Re-upping will remove the completed requirement of reaching level 100 for Seriously 3.0 - if you are close to earning all your Onyx medals, you may want to wait to re-up this second time... unless you plan to get to level 300!

Earn at least one of each of the original 132 combat ribbons.

Many of the ribbons in the game will come naturally while playing online or working toward the other achievements. However, some may take a large amount of skill and/or luck, so coordination with others will make them quite a bit easier. For a complete list and guide for all 132 ribbons, see this thread.

Quick Heads Up:

I wouldn't prestige if you're going for Seriously 3.0 and you're close. From what I can tell it resets your Progress for earning Level 100, meaning if you were like 1 or 2 Onyx Medals away from getting all 65 and you re-upped, you just lost your Level 100 status.

EDIT:

And it messes with Field Service as well...cosmetically at least. It says I'm at -98/100, but I'm earning progress towards Bronze/Silver/Gold versions of it. I flushed out the system with a quick TDM as well when I got to 100 last night. So...I dunno what's going on with it.

Then again I'm never happy.

That does seem to be a theme with you. :p

I dropped it a point, probably was a tad high. Thanks to everyone who confirmed the Private deal yesterday, forgot to post when I updated that. Added a suggestion for the two easiest maps in Horde today.

you have to do all 50 horde levels in all the 5 new maps. it's not enough doing it in a single map ;)

I'm sorry, but it clearly states that you only need to do 1-50 on ONE new fenix rising map. i did 1-50 on escalation and received the achievement. if you are referring to the in game achievement, then no only the map you did it on will be ticked. if your not talking about the in game, then i have no idea what you are trying to say...
