ragnarok0609
I would say its full open world based on what i have seen. It is possible some dungeons may be locked by quest progression.
Purge
I'm honestly not sure. If it's anything like Witcher 1, I'll be happy.
SarDark
Afaik it opens further maps after you complete story checkpoints. So it's RDR. http://s3.accelerated-ideas.com/news/images/witcher3_map_areas.jpg Edited May 12, 2015 by SarDark
Floyd.
Trust me, it's large enough that it won't matter, and the gameplay and story will both be incredible. Don't let the semi-open world influence your purchase!

Minmatar
It is open world but there is no level scaling so just going out anywhere can get you into serious trouble if your under leveled.

Slaughter.
I personally hope that this game is like how GTA: San Andreas's open world, as in you unlock new areas by progressing in the story. I liked that because I honesty felt a sense of progression being in Las Venturas (city you unlock late in the game). I don't know how that would be received, since an RPG is pretty different than a sandbox game, but who knows.
