http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1896/5-mmhoo=.jpgThe Hero 40 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Completed all pre-planned, non-notice board quests.

Here it is My "The Hero" Achievement Guide! If you see something wrong or you want more detail in a quest, feel free to say something and I'll add/fix it :) This list is in the order as i did them.

I can now confirm, You DO NOT need to do all the quest in one playthrough. I missed a few my 1st time around. Did the ones i missed 2nd playthrough and Achievement Unlocked "The Hero"

**Extra Note's Section Starts on the 3rd Post** 1st & 2nd Post are maxed words allowed.

All the Quests below Must be done before you finish the last Wyrm Hunt Quest. Some of the first quests that you get in Cassardis you must do BEFORE speaking to Ser Maximilian. I have them listed below.

Once you finish the last quest from him. The game will ask you if you are sure your ready to continue. Make you sure do everything before Accepting to Meet with the Duke. Below i have Noted some Quest's you can still do after meeting the Duke. But i would just do them before to be safe.

Added Main story Quest's, so if a quest isn't showing up you know where you should be in the main story line.

Cassardis Quest to do before talking to Ser Maximilian.

Floral Delivery** This is in Cassardis right outside the inn, a lady needs some flowers. x5 sunblight x1 moonglow.

Lost Faith** Go to the Church in Cassardis on the top of the map, talk to the father he wants a book that is on top of a house.

Grim Tidings** Talk to Elvar he is inside the church in Cassardis. He just wants you to talk to Merin give him the bad news.

Upon a pawn** When you first leave Cassardis, on your way to The Encampment You will meet Reynard getting beat up by goblins. Save him and he will show up in the Encampment now selling stuff. This Continues later on in the game a new quest called "Search Party" see below.

Main Quest "Call of the Arisen" was done here.

Strength in Numbers** This is after "Call of the Arisen" Once you enter the Encampment for the first time. A voice from the rift will ask you do to something & after you complete that. There will be a Guard next to the notice board asking if you want to a training regimen.

Guard Duty** Madeleine Quest || You'll first meet her in Cassardis, she will want a escort to the encampment and she will ask for some money. You need to travel to the encampment 1st with the pawn, during the upon a pawn quest then head back to Cassardis and she should be in the Inn ready to go.

Deep Trouble** In Cassardis, Right in front of the gate to exit the city is a well, Talk to the soldier for the quest.

Main Quest "A Rude Awakening" was done here.

An Uninvited Guest** Talk to the Inn keeper Pablos in Cassardis, then talk to the two people to get more info then sleep at the inn till nightfall. Talk to Pablos again and say your ready.

Lost and Found** Find the Village chief walking around in Cassardis. (the little old bald man) He will ask you to go find Quina in Witchwood.Note*If you missed Talent Bloom &/or A Parting Gift in your 1st playthrough, You need to do this quest again so the two Quest's will show up later.

Do all the Cassardis quest i listed above before talking to Ser Maximilian.

Main Quest "Off With Its Head" & "A matter of Myrmidons" was done here.

A Troublesome Tome** Talk to Steffen he is usually just to the left of the Inn in Gran Soren. He Wants you go to grab a book for him at the male bandit camp. The book is in the Castle at the very top. Just keep climbing up and you'll see it at the top. NOTE* When you do this quest, Do Not Kill the Bandit Leader. No Honor Among Thief's & A Troublesome Tome Conflict. Do Not kill the leader. If you do kill him for some reason. He WILL re-spawn later in the game, i went back after i met the Duke for the first time & he was back.

Land of Opportunity** Gran Soren, Talk to Fournival-- He walks around, But can be found at the Black Cat Shop or he has a house in the noble quarters. Called Fournival Manor

Main Quest "Lure of the Abyss" was done here.

Reaper's Scorn** Right outside the guild camp in Gran Soren. The house across from it. Talk to the Father, get a wakestone give it to the kid and your done.

Note* It seems the Quest Thick as Thieves(Female Bandit Leader) is giving people trouble. When they talk to her she is attacking them even if they are wearing female clothes. So to be safe, I would do Thick as Thieves 1st and After completing this quest. Then try to do No Honor Among Thief's and that way there should be no problems finishing both Quests.

Also like to note that if you finish one of the Bandit's quest, they each give you a different item. Ophis's Badge Of Amity for female & Maul's Badge of Amity for male. Make sure you don't have the opposite Leader's badge on your person when trying to accept the other Leaders Quest. They might become hostile to you.

Thick as Thieves** Female Bandit Camp, now i have read alot of people are having problems with this. If your a male pawn you have to dress like a female and have all female pawns in your group. I was female and had all female pawns. You can buy a women's dress from Black Cat's shop in Gran Soren.

The female bandit camp is located NW of the map. "The Ruins of Heavenspeak Fort" SW of Soulflayer Canyon East Entrance & NE of Miasmic Haunt. Talk to a bandit outside the fort, this is NOT the leader Ophis that gives the quest. She will want you to feed Ophis's pet cyclops. A Goblin he wants, Kill one and pick it up with RT and lay it in front of him. NOTE* Can be done after meeting Duke. As said below i guess you can also just go up to Ophis and get a quest to kill male bandits, but i wouldn't do this if you haven't done the Male Bandit Leader Quest.

No Honor Among Thief's** Male Bandit Camp. "The Ruins of Aernst Castle" West of Witchwood

After doing *A Troublesome Tome* Go back to him and he will have a quest. To not make the female bandits mad, when he gives you a choice, Goto Cassardis & talk Pike into turning himself in. This is the best outcome you can get. NOTE* Can be done after meeting Duke & again if you did kill him for some reason, He will re spawn later in the game.

Deeper Trouble** This is in Cassardis after going to Gran Soren, right when you enter a guy named Rorric in the well will cry out. Go inside kill some lizzy's and destroy the eggs.

Chasing Shadows** After completing the quest "A Matter of Myrmidons" You can find Mason walking around in front of the Inn in Gran Soren.Note*If your playing threw a 2nd time because you missed the Madeleine quest's &/or achievement, make sure you do this one again to unlocked "Bad Business" later on.

Main Quest "The Cypher" was done here.

Dying of Curiosity** Talk to Merin wondering around, I found him outside the inn in Cassardis going to the beach area. Next Go outside the gates of Cassardis and to the right is "Unusual Beach" down the path. You Will find Valmiro laying in the sand. Make Sure you bring 6 Greenwarish. He will want 1 the first time you find him. Then go to The Encampment. He is just outside next to a tree on the left & wants 2 Greenwarish. Then off to Witchwood, right when you enter his laying on the ground. 3 more Greenwarish. Back to Cassardis talk to Merin to finish it.

Another quest with Valmiro appears after meeting the Duke, See below. Also Make sure you do this quest if your missing "Farewell Valmiro"

Main Quest "A Fortress Besieged" was done here.

Thanks ProdigyChildPwn, WilRonward & my boy FLIPADELPHIIA for the help :)

Escort Duty**Talk to Fournival again in his Manor in Gran Soren in The noble quarters to accept a quest to look over his daughter, Symone. Bring a Flask of water before accepting the quest, Also walk right next to her the whole time. Do not run too far away. Stay near her side.

She Will stop near the Inn, Talk to her and she will want to play Hide-and-seek. Now Run straight forward into the Alehouse, go pass the Notice board and turn left. She should be right here. Another spot is inside the Inn in the back corner.

Trade her the Flask of water right when she wants it. And when she wants to race you. Let her win. After finishing the quest just talk to her again. Doing all this you will get the Golden Idol, Only way to get this item in the game.

Of Merchants and Monsters**Outside Ancient Quarry North Entrance, It is West of Gran Soren Just south of Miner's Hut. Talk to the Alon to accept the quest. Go in & open the gates by stepping on the panels on the ground. Also while your in here, search everywhere because you will have to defeat all 3 Ogres to finish the quest.

Main Quest's "Justice Done" "Seeking Salvation" "The Watergod's Altar" were done here.

Note** The quest below you can be finished anytime before or after meeting the Duke. Just finish it before the Final battle quest. Also Once you hand in the Journals, Reynard goes bye bye. There is a Main quest from Aldous called "Trial and Tribulations" that puts a guy on trial & Reynard sells some items that get him out or puts him in Jail. So make note of this if you want to finish that quest easy & pick the outcome.

Search Party** To start this quest you need to buy 10 items from Reynard. If it still doesn't show up, Keep buying stuff. It will pop up sooner or later. He will be asking for certain times. NOTE* Make sure you finish this before doing the Final Battle because it will Fail. Also a note, he moves around. He walks around the Front of the Inn in Gran Soren, The Encampment, Rest Camp, Great wall & Cassardis near the Inn.

1st Item* Scrap Iron x1

Buy/Sell Items over & over He will ask for another item

2nd Item* Miasmite x1

I bought & Sold a bunch of stuff, Nothing new, Then i went to the Inn, Slept. Came back he was at the same spot. Sold him some items. This Time you need 6 different Journal Entry's.

First Journal Entry** In the Encampment. In a Chest by the area where you killed the Hyrda.

Second Journal Entry** In the Catacombs, Second Level Underground

Third Journal Entry** In Gran Soren, you have to climb up on top of the roofs and find a spot where you can drop down into the roof. It's NW of the Black Cat.

Fourth Journal Entry**"Barta Crags" Area Near Miasmic Haunt. This is South of The Great Wall.

Fifth Journal Entry** Soulflayer Canyon First Floor

Final Journal Entry** Ancient Quarry, It's pretty much in the middle of the map. If you entered from the North side, its in the big area before you get to the "Switch" Just NE of the "Lever" Icon.

AFTER MEETING WITH THE DUKE Finished all the Wyrm Hunt Quest.

"Come to Court" was done here (this is meeting the Duke) Make sure you did all the quest above before doing this Quest. (besides the one's i have noted)

The quests below can all be done Right after meeting the Duke, Only Quest i accepted from Aldous was Griffin's Bane. (Aid the Corps on a hunting expedition) I didn't accept Trial and Tribulations "Gather evidence for an important trial" because that quest is time limited to 4 Days.

**Once you have met the Duke, all the side quests below become active, i would recommend finishing them all. Just do what i did & accept Griffin's Bane from Aldous

(Aid the Corps on a hunting expedition)then Do ALL the quests. Doing this there will be no way you will miss a quest.**

Scroll down to WitchHunt & read

Rise of the Fallen**Speak to Ser Maximilian at the Castle Gates. This is After you meet with the Duke for the first time.

Talent Bloom** Travel to "The Abbey" It's in the forest a little NW from Ancient Quarry North Entrance & East of Prayer Falls. There is a girl named Quina that wants you to bring her flower to a Priest. I gave it to Geffrey in Gran Soren Cathedral.Note* The flower will die & cause you to fail this quest if you don't give it to someone rather quickly, So do this quest once you accept it.

Idol Worship**Talk to Caxton the weapon smith for the quest. Also Madeleine has the same quest. You can give one a Golden idol & one a Silver idol. Caxton has more weapons for Fighters & Madeleine will have more magic weapons & Items

Supplier's Demand** is the name of the quest that Madeleine gives you in Gran Soren. She will be in her shop.

Farewell, Valmiro** Talk to Valmiro in Cassardis, Take the path to the right of the Inn & he is on the right looking at the beach. He wants more items. 1x Potent Greenwarish x1 Lantern

1x Sour Ambrosial Meat & 1x Pilgrim's Charm Note* If you just missed this quest in your 1st play, make sure you do Dying of Curiosity again so this will show up.

Innocent Man** There is a little kid running around Cassardis named Tomlin with a quest. I saw him running on the beach when i was doing Farewell, Valmiro's quest. Bring x3 Skeleton Keys

WitchHunt** Right after meeting with the Duke, There will be 3 townsfolk's talking in front of the Gran Soren Inn about Selene, Stand near them and listen to active the quest. Note*next quest below

Mettle against Metal**After doing the Witchhunt quest, Leave the area & Don't jump down. Turn around and enter back into Witchwood, You must find a golem in the area. Go back under Selene House, and take a right when you come to the 1st split path. You'll see a funny looking rock across the water. You can't hunt him directly. You have to destroy all the purple poles around the area. One of the Poles is in a Tree high up, So i would bring a bow as it seems this is the only way to hit it. If your having trouble finding them, just watch where they shoot him from and follow the light, because they give him power. NOTE* next quest below

Dragon's Tongue** This is the 3rd quest you can get in this area. After you save Selene from the Witchhunt & left and re-entered the area, and Before or after you killed the golem, Go back to the Guardian's Grave where you talked to Selene when you finished Witchhunt quest. There will be a Ancient Tablet. Bring it Geffrey in the Cathedral

The Conspirators**Speak with Chamberlain Fedel to initiate the quest. He is inside the castle in Gran Soren. I made a forgery of the letter, gave the real one to the guard & fake one to Fedel.

Nameless Terror** Speak with Ser Rickart, a guard just outside the South gate of Gran Soren.

Once you get the quest, sleep at the Inn in gran soren till nightfall, then make your way to the Ancient Quarry North Entrance. Just outside the gate you will fight a group of bandits. I had Raven & Condor attack me.

Then make your way north of Gran Sorn and go across the bridge pass the Catacombs Rear Passage 2 & fight, Phantom, Ghost, Soul & Spirits.

Return to Gran Soren, Sleep at the Inn till nightfall again. After that make your way to Cassardis from Gran Soren, staying on the Main Road. You'll be attacked during Moonsbit Pass Take the same route when you first came threw here Escorting the Hydra Head. By this i mean going under the Castle gates that you had to open the first time, and not taking the path that goes to the left. Just continue straight ahead & keep following that Main Road.

You'll also be attacked between The Mountain Waycastle & the Encampment. Then Finally in front of Cassardis gates. Stay on the Main road & you'll finish this quest There is 5 fights total. Thank You *Nami* for bringing this up & Thank you *WilRonward* for quest details on how to finish this quest.

A Parting Gift** After Talent Bloom But Before Accepting the quest "Deny Salvation"

Go back to The Abbey, and speak with Clarus, a Nun inside the church. She wants a item.

1x Pilgrim's Charm.

Arousing Suspicion**Note*Speak with Mirabelle in the Castle to accept the quest. She was inside the first door to the castle, before the main room. Note*Do this quest in order for Duchess in Distress to show up.

Supply and Demands**Speak to Ser Daerio in Windbluff Tower, He wants you to bring a letter to Lord Julien or a guard outside the castle. I recommend giving the letter to Lord Julien in the castle. He is the Blonde Guy with the blue Cape. He should be in the castle walking around or outside. There should be a quest marker on him. Pick the first Option "One Week's supply" for the best outcome.

Main Quest "Griffin's Bane" "Trial and Tribulations" was done here.

Thanks ProdigyChildPwn, WilRonward & my boy FLIPADELPHIIA for the help :)

******Do all the above side quests before you do anymore main Quest from Aldous, This way you wont miss any from going too far in the story.******

After Aldous Quests are all completed & you walk with the Duke to his Treasure room & complete the quest "Reward and Responsibility"

NOTE* Make sure you do Duchess in Distress & Bad Business before completing "Deny Salvation" A Main Quest.

Bad Business**Go to Madeleine Shop in Gran Soren & speak with Katlyn. Make sure you pick up her dagger that is sitting on the table. "Divine Razors" Then go to the Alehouse that is locate across the Inn & talk to Nettie & Arsmith they will have Red ?'s over there head. Now you will have a quest marker on your map.Note* If you just missed this quest the 1st time around, make sure you do Chasing Shadows again so this will unlock later in the story.

Now a few choices, Keep her dagger for yourself or give it to her to make her like you more. Tell the guard Yes or No. No if you like her. Yes if you dislike her. She will then want 50,000 Gold. Doing All this will definitely get you the Affinity and Beyond achievement.

Duchess in Distress** This quest will show up from Mirabelle AFTER you do all the Duke's quests from Aldous like mention above. She will show up inside the castle gates but just outside the actual castle doors at the bottom of the stairs to the left. She might be walking around the garden if it is nighttime.

**Now before doing the Main Quest "Deny Salvation" make sure you do ALL the quest above, it is a point of no return**

Just do every side quest you can before doing any Main quest. Always a good rule of thumb :) Sleep at Inn's a lot so it saves a checkpoint. So if you DO fail a quest somehow you can reload checkpoint & not worry about it when the game auto saves.

**Extra Notes Section**

Note* For Arousing Suspicion Speak with Aelinore before leaving the castle for the 1st time. You will get a little cut-scene when leaving, make sure to go say hello.

Note* For Supplier's Demand** You should at least give her a silver idol if you don't give her the golden one so she will like you enough to give you another quest later on, You can also do a Escort quest if you see it on a notice board.

Sorry i have to start editing down here, 1st & 2nd post are maxed 10,000 words D=

Not sure how i missed the "Investigate a cult" quest, must of skipped it on my 2nd play or did something else. But It looks like you Must do this in order to get "Rise of the Fallen" to show up. I don't have the game anymore and Forgot the info on this quest (I'm sorry >.<) But I'm pretty sure its very easy to come across and almost un-missable. Thanks Jenneke88 for bring this up.

Here are some that I have just by looking at my history:

Dying of Curiosity**

In Cassardis, some one (I forgot who) has a quest to search for Valmiro. Should show up after the Lure of the Abyss.

Escort Duty**

Talk to Fournival to accept a quest to look over his daughter, Symone.

Witch Hunt**

I believe you can get this from someone in Gran Soren. I got it after meeting with the Duke for the first time.

Arousing Suspicion**

Speak with Mirabelle in the Castle to accept the quest.

Idol Worship**

Talk to Caxton the weaponsmith for the quest.

Of Merchants and Monsters**

Outside the eastern entrance of the quarry, talk to the peddler to accept the quest.

The Conspirators**

Speak with Chamberlain Fedel to initiate the quest.

Rise of the Fallen**

Not sure but I think this one is missable. Speak to Ser Maximilian at the Castle Gates.

Supplier's Demand**

Speak to Madeleine to accept the quest. I spoke to her post-game, not sure if you can get the quest before that.

I just want to point out that for at least Lost and Found (finding Quina in the Witchwood), this quest has to be done before you do the quest in the Everfall for Barnaby in Gran Soren.

What triggers the failure is receiving your Wyrm Hunt License from the guard when you try to exit. It's exactly what just happened to me (so I started over). Got out of Everfall, turned in the quest, left. The guard gave me the license and then it said the quest was failed.

I'm going to assume you may want to treat any quests you get from Cassardis this way (minus notice board quests).

Well,I'm about to do "Final Battle" and it looks like I missed one quest out of these. "A Parting Give". Firstly, is this meant to be called "A Parting Gift"? Also, it never appeared for me. I remember doing theTalent Bloom quest early and I gave it to a nun there and it completed. However, Clarus has never once offered me a quest and I went back and forth to the Abbey to keep checking.

I'll head straight there on new game plus I guess and see if that works. I was doing so well too :(

Woops, knew i would have a few spelling corrections in there sorry =X, I'll tidy it up once I'm finished with the guide.

After i met the Duke for the first time. I went to The Abbey & did "Talent Bloom". This list is in order of when i did them. It must be time a sensitive quest. Because when I went back (still didn't do any Duke's quest yet) Clarus was there with a Quest.

No probs mate. Your guide is very good. I had a look over to see if I could add anything but it looks like you'd already covered all the bases. Thanks so much by the way for confirming you can finish what you missed in NG+. That makes this very doable indeed coupled with the list here. Kudos to you.

For Reynard. Is there a given route or scripted time?

He left the encampment for me. But now i can't find him anymore. Lets say: sleep 2times in an inn, then he's there, then over there or something like that.

and where does he usually hang around in gran soren? big damn city. maybe he's there but i can't find him or so :p

I really appreciate you working so hard and making this guide! Thank you so much ( and to the others that have helped you ). I've done well enough so far on my own but this just helps me to be more sure of my actions. I'm very glad to hear it can be accomplished in different playthroughs. That makes it a little easier if I do happen to mess up somewhere.

I don't think there is, at least i haven't notice. Just keep using port crystals & ferrystones to warp to him, or if you don't have them yet. Check the area's that i have listed. He will show up at one of them sooner or later =D

Yeah, found him once. But now he's gone again. Such an idiot :p

Anyway, someone should pin that topic.

Thick as Thieves

This quest is the hugest pain in my ass. I bought the women's clothes from the Black Cat for my main pawn and myself to wear. No matter what I do she still attacks me. WTF? Is it because I already did Maul's quest? I was hoping that wouldn't matter, and is shouldn't since you have to do both quests for the achievement. And they both have to be done on the same character. So I must be missing something here.

The only thing I can think of is that I always carry around the badge that Maul gave me. Could that somehow be pissing her off? I did come to this location early in the game and kill them all. But I didn't think that mattered since they respawned.

The really weird thing is that when I'm dressed in drag and go into the castle. Only some of them are hostile. There are some that don't attack me on sight. Unfortunately for me the quest giver isn't one of the docile ones. She always appears to have a massive case of PMS.

Is there any advice you can offer? Like maybe I'm doing something wrong. If this goes correctly, is the cyclops outside supposed to attack you? He always engages me no matter what.

With Mauls quest you shouldnt have gone and killed the female bandits. Instead you should have just gone and gotten pike. You could try giving her the arison bond I guess

That's the thing, I didn't kill them for the quest with Maul. I convinced Pike to return like we talked about in the thread I made asking about this quest. I was just exploring the map when I first found them. Most of them were apathetic to my presence so I looted the place. When I found the leader for the first time, she was already hostile for no reason. So I defended myself.

I only realized later that she had a quest symbol over her head. How can I give her a gift if she starts fighting me when I get close to her? Will she eventually forget about it and let me talk to her? Am I supposed to wear another piece of clothing with the set of clothes to cover my face?

I'm going to try and leave Maul's badge in my storage and approach them again. Hopefully that works. If it does, I'll report back and let everyone know.

Yeah i have read about people having trouble with this quest. I had all females and my main girl, and i did this quest pretty early. Doing it before the Male bandit camp maybe is a good idea. And like Flip said, when you do the male bandit quest don't go kill the females, instead hand over pike in Cassardis

This happens like right at the beginning of the game almost. After the encampment I believe. You had to go back to Cassardis and talk to quina

yeah i never knew

Apparently a fisherman should of approached me while i was still at the encampment and tell em the village boss wants to talk to me,and he tells me Quina is missing i am to find her at Witchwood

No one approached me,and because i have spoken to the person now,it is locked out

I am using the Bradygames guide, and it is pretty much the worse guide i have ever got,it fails to say that quests will not unlock or fail if you advance the storyline at certain parts

now i am guessing because i didn't do lost and found i can't do witchhunt either, because that's another that wont activate

I don't know if this is a problem or not, but I was trying to do the 'Thick as Thieves' quest, and I spoke to the leader with no problems. However, the quest I was given was completely different to what is listed here. I was told to kill the rival male bandits. Is that normal, and I read in my game guide (which is crap BTW) that the quest that is listed here is given to you by the other leader. However, I didn't see anyone else with the green ? symbol above their head, except for Ophis.

Really? both times when i did that quest i talked to not the leader but someone outside the gates. She wanted me to feed Ophis pet to make her happy. Once feeding the pet, i talked to Ophis & she liked me quest completed. What was the quest called if you just go up and talk to Ophis right away?

It's called the same one: 'Thick as Thieves'

Here are the details listed:

Follow Ophis orders and dispatch some of the rival southron bandits. Report back to her afterwards

Then after that, it says 0/10 so I guess I have to kill ten male bandits in that area. I've already done the quest for the male bandits so I guess it wouldn't be too big of a loss.

This sounds like what I might end up having to do since the female thieves are hostile to me. Where can I find Ophis? It isn't the cyclopes going up the path to the castle right? Because he doesn't seem to have a name and is always hostile.
