Game Description:

If you think life in the big city is crazy, wait until you get a load of the country life in Farm Frenzy 2, while managing a wild and wacky farm!

The fun never stops as you grow grass, feed chickens, collect eggs and take your produce to market. From there, you'll spend the money you earn on additional buildings that produce exciting new products, including delicious steaks, tasty cakes and quaint down home apparel. You've got to stay on your sun-kissed toes, though, to keep the bears from tearing up your farm.

With tons of levels to complete, plenty of hidden gags to find and an empty shelf begging to be filled with trophies for outstanding achievements, Farm Frenzy 2 will keep you busy throughout the dog days of summer and long after the harvest!

Introduction:

Farm Frenzy 2 seems to be a real fun time management and strategy simulation. It does start off nice and easy but very quickly becomes quite taxing with only seconds to spare on the clock when your going for a gold medal. With 90 Levels the game will take quite a while to finish but all in all it is pretty good game and definitely worth the £2.29/$2.99.

Getting Golds Medals:

As I have already stated you will likely soon find yourself struggling to get golds on levels until you replay them a few times to work out the best strategy. big red marino has re-tweaked the original guide (found here) which was for iOS and just improved it. It basically is a brief description of the best strategy for each level. Find big red marino's improved version here.

Tips:

  • You can replay a level at any time if you need more coins or if you just want to obtain a higher score.
  • At the beginning of some levels you will be asked to go into the shop and buy the item that the arrow is pointing to. If you can't afford to buy it you will not be able to start that level until you have enough stars.
  • At that point you will have to replay some other levels in order to earn some more gold and stars. As soon as you've earned enough, go back to the shop, buy the needed upgrade and open the level that you need.
  • When you look at the map, you'll see that the icons for the levels have different colours. The ones that are lit in blue and are blank are the ones that you can play. The ones that are empty and grey inside mean that you need to purchase an upgrade in order to play it.
  • When you see an icon with a gold icon with a duck it means that you hit the gold target for that day. If the icon with the duck is grey then it means that you hit the silver target for that day. If the icon that has a duck is blue, it means that you simply passed the level.
  • You need to pick up goods as soon as they are ready, if you don't they will disappear and you will not earn any coins for products lost. As soon as you see some products flashing it means that you have very few seconds to pick it up.
  • The animals need grass to eat and produce goods for you to take into town and sell. Whenever the farm is low on grass make sure to irrigate the soil.
  • You should really make sure that your well is full at all times. You don't want to waste time by waiting for it to fill. As soon as the well runs dry, buy some more water so it can be ready for the next round. Max out the well upgrade so you can get more water in one sitting.
  • The blue bars under the animals show you how full and content they are. When the animals run out of food their bars will start decreasing and will start flashing. Once their bar runs out, the animals will die. Get them some grass before that happens.
  • You can look at your goal for the day in the lower right corner any time you need a reminder of what they are.
  • Once you've made a product that counts toward your goal you can sell it right away. I made the mistake of waiting for the goal to be filled before I sold any of my products. Needless to say my truck and the warehouse filled up very quickly.
  • When you meet your gold goal for the day you will get a significantly higher amount of stars than when you only earn a silver star.
  • Achieving the gold goal can be tough at times but with some proper planning it can be achieved. It may take replaying some levels in order to do it.
  • Each day will begin with different buildings and different animals on the farm. Some buildings will be ready to go and some will need upgrades to produce a higher amount.
  • When the items fall from the airplane you don't have to wait until it reaches the ground before you collect them. Click on them while they are in the sky, if you have enough space they will go directly into the warehouse.
  • Even if an animal is standing in front of a product you can still click through them to get it, especially if the item is flashing and is about to disappear.
  • When you sell an item by placing it on the truck, you will not get paid for it until the truck returns from the drop off location.
  • You can place items in the stores even before you pick up the goods that were produced. For example, you can place some more eggs in the powdered egg factory before you pick up the bags of powdered egg that are ready.
  • When goods have been processed and they are outside waiting to be picked up, you don't have to click on them individually. Highlight the group of goods and whatever is highlighted will be picked up with just one click.

ACHIEVEMENTS

For completing a level without using any tips.

The tips are the red arrows that appear when you try to touch the ground to water it once the tank is depleted or when you try to buy any animals or upgrades that you cannot afford or try to put something in your warehouse when there is no space left.

This achievement is easily doable on Level 1, Chicken Lane 1. Buy a chicken from the top of the screen by touching the chicken icon. Now water the ground 5 times but no more. As the chickens start to lay eggs touch the eggs to transfer them to the warehouse. You should be able to collect 4 eggs for the level requirement by about 45 seconds.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2084/+M0wyg==.jpg Elbow Grease - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For expedient production.

This means that there should be less than a second between the factory stopping, and then being started again. So for example on the powder house, get it working on an egg and as it finishes just tap the factory again to send it another egg and it will continue working. Do this five times in a level for the achievement. This does mean you will need to have eggs in the warehouse as the house stops working so do not send any eggs to town.

This can be done as early as Level 3, Powder Street 1.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-Bbabw==.jpg Place in the Sun - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For filling every slot in the warehouse.

You will be able to get this easily and quickly on the 3rd or 4th level onwards. Just do not send the truck to town or upgrade the warehouse and just keep collecting eggs, other produce and especially bears as they take up a lot of warehouse space.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-fYi-A==.jpg Stroke of Luck - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For catching falling products.

The first level you will be able to get this on is level 5 called Powder Street 3. Once you have 100 coins select the aeroplane and choose '10'. Now the plane will fly to the city before returning and dropping the products. Catch as many you can and the achievement should pop.

*I managed to catch all 10 on first attempt so I am not sure what the requirements are. Can someone confirm.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-I8joA==.jpg Eager Beaver - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For collecting 300 products.

This will come very early in the game. I had 300 products collected by the 6th or 7th level.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/+bQxlg==.jpg Pig`s Back - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For beating 10 levels without losing a single animal.

You just need to get through 10 levels without losing any animals, i.e. thrown off screen by bears. This does not require it to be done consecutively either so this will also come very early in the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-W-bMw==.jpg Front Runner -10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For completing the level in record time.

Some of the levels, including the early ones have record times that are either very close or even more then the Gold times so get a gold in one of these and it will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/UPzurAo=.jpg Murphy's Law - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For deliberation.

Restart 5 or more times from the PAUSE Menu then complete the level.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-GnGiA==.jpg Top Dog - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For catching every bear on a level using dogs.

The dogs do not actually cage the bears. They just run to the bear and prevent it from moving. You then cage it and transfer to storage or let it be removed by the game after about 20 seconds of being caged. You can do this as early as Level 22 - Pork Street 2 (see map) where you start with three dogs which be enough for this level as you are very unlikely to get more then three bears at once. So just wait for the bears to land and you'll see the dogs have prevented them from moving. Now just taps the bears to cage them and then sell them or let them be removed by the game. Complete the level and the achievement will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-q4qFQ==.jpg Make or Break - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For completing a level without tapping any products or bears.

This achievement would normally require the use of dogs to trap bears and cats to collect the produce but if you select Level 29 - Product Street 1 (see map), you will not actually get any bears saving you a lot of hassle. So first of all fill as much of the screen as you can with grass, refilling from the well 3-4 times, this saves accidentally touching any produce later. Now buy a cat and two pigs and start producing the meat into mince and just sell every time you get 2-4, upgrade store once to avoid losing produce and you can optionally buy one more pig but just keep producing mince and selling it. Water the ground if the grass is getting thin but only when the pigs are not on that part of the screen. You should net about 5.2k which is the goal in under 5 minutes but you can just take your time. Very easy!

Note: Be careful not to upgrade any of the houses as it may make the level take a very long time to complete.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/2084/-07Shg==.jpg Ace of Base - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png

For purchasing every upgrade.

This should come with natural progression towards the end of the game.

For saving one million coins!

This should come with natural progression towards the end of the game.

For collecting every award.

This is going to be your last achievement and is basically for unlocking every other achievement.

For stroke of luck you need to catch 7, the discription under the trophy on the achievement page says so after you have unlocked it.

I've just unlocked murphys law and the achievement discription now says for taking 5 or attempts to complete a level.

Could you please give me somemore info on how to unlock elbow grease because I can't get it to unlock, maybe in doing it wrong. Do you have to rapidly tap the building or just tap it once.

Start by selling 3 chickens. Sprinkle ground. Collect eggs, capture bear, when truck returns sell bear and buy powder factory. After that it's just rince and repeat, you can sell the powder crap you produce, as soon as you have 250 gold upgrade your powder factory. After upgrading the factory you can produce 2 bags at once, you'll have eggs to spare since you kept 3 at the start. As soon as you upgrade your factory send out your plane to buy 1 bag of whatever it is...(I suck at names). Doing it this way I managed to get 2:45 which is 15 seconds below gold time, so there is some room for error.

In other news, I unlocked the achievements for winning every level and getting a gold medal on all levels at the same time (saw them pop on screen). The achievements both show up on Xbox.com, but the Win-win one doesn't show in the main menu of the game meaning the last achievement won't unlock either. I don't know if the achievement is just glitched or if it has to do with me getting both at the same time though, just wanted to warn everyone who's reading.

Figured it out! This is important and should be added to the guide, Isaac.

To sell animals, click on your truck. There is an Animals tab at the top-right corner of the screen. Tap it and you can choose animals to sell from there.

I also found a big assortment of tips and stuff.

Murphy's Law - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

For deliberation.

Spend 45 minutes on a level. Rather then waste time doing this early on wait for the levels towards the end of the game as one has a one hour gold requirement.

THIS IS WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to get this you need to start a level and restart the level from the pause menu at least 5 times on the same level. and then finish it.

best level is 1st level

please give credit to me !

LOL credit should go to Zebrasqual

Does anyone know how to get the elbow grease achievement?

I've tapped on a building continuously throughout a level and it hasn't popped. Is there something else I should be doing, or doing differently?

I have expanded the explanation a bit. When I unlocked the achievement I had spent literally the whole level tapping the houses while they were producing. I also tapped as fast as I could as well.

Hope that helps!

Really confused by this. Where's the original post by Wuki 7 and why should Zebrasqual get the credit. Also restarting the Level 5 or 10 or even 15 for that matter has not unlocked Murphy's Law.

So in all super confused face!

You need to restart 5 times and complete the level for the achievements to unlock.

Wuki 7 wanted credit for an answer he got from Zebrasqual on another forum lol

Almost there, but, as I see it, the achievement is not for hurrying them along... it is for clicking on them again just as they have finished producing. So, the very second that a product appears alongside the factory, click the factory again, so that there is only a brief blip in production. This can be seen from the achievement description *after* you unlock it:

"Elbow Grease: You have refilled factory to its full capacity and spent less than 1 second five times in a row!"

The English is quite poor, but I think that it means that there should be less than a second between the factory stopping, and then being started again. Do this five times in a level for the achievement. It does also seem to suggest that the factory must take in all of the items which it can hold, too, so it might be a good idea to stock up a bit first!

Hope this helps!

No problem... :) ...but you might also want to mention that, according to the achievement description, the factory needs to take in all of the resources that it can. As such, this might be harder to do if you have upgraded the factory, as I think that this impacts upon how many products it can take in at once. So if, for example, the powder factory can take in 5 eggs, you would need 25 eggs to get the achievement. But I *think* that, if it is the bog standard starting powder factory, then five eggs overall would be enough. Not sure if anybody can confirm this, but it seems to be what the achievement description suggests, and I cannot remember how many eggs I was taking in when I got it!

Not sure if this guide is dead or not... but Top Dog and Make Or Break can both be done on Product Street 6. You start off with two dogs, and around £42,000. I think you could get them both at the same time, but I got them individually because I made a mess of things first off. I can confirm that, for Top Dog, it is okay to trap and sell the bears. The main thing seems to be that they are initially caught by the dogs. So, if you do need to trap some bears to get rid of them, just make sure that a dog has apprehended them first.

For Make or Break, you need to be fast, else you will get overrun by bears. Right at the start, I planted a load of grass, using at least three full wells. It can be tricky to get water later as you could be blocked by a bear, and you cannot touch them. I purchased five chickens, two pigs, three more dogs, and two cats. Now fully upgrade the three bakery type stores. Using the plane, order five bags of sugar. Wait for the chickens to lay five eggs, and let the cats collect them. Start off the powder factory, let the cats collect... same for the pie factory and the cake factory. Through all of this, buy more dogs as needed, and sell what you can. Now, sell the chickens, and purchase the meat factories. You should already have some pork, so start producing right away. Order some trays from the plane.

This level does flood you with bears, so be fast, and hold your nerve! And remember to reign in your instincts, and don't click on any goods or bears!

Hope this helps.

No the guide is not dead. Just very busy at work at the moment and got so many retail games not really getting a chance to put in many hours on my phone. Will include the above in the guide in the next few days when I get some time.
