As far as the power slide challenge goes, the absolute easiest way to do this (and rack up some early respect) is to grab a Kenshin crotch rocket. All you have to do to start a power slide with this thing is start by holding 'A' down pick a direction and slam on the gas. It'll start doing donuts and building up the slide meter. It can do this in a relatively small space, so just find a big intersection or an empty parking lot and start sliding. I got this challenge (and the achievement for completing my first challenge) before I even went to the armory.

I've never had success in combat. I've tried a few times beside gang members that weren't hostile without success but instantly ran in front of them to try again. It always worked when I was standing in front of them. I'd get the 'taunting' respect in the corner saying I did it. Maybe it's just a few people but it is true. Because you haven't had luck doesn't mean it's not true for everyone.

i found that you have to be close enough to them to have the 'human shield' dialogue up. firefight or not, shooting or not - i got it pretty much every time i tried it that way.

Any hope for me to get the 50 luchadore specialists besides waiting for survivals? Got 100% city take over so they aren't any around.

i got mine by having a Survival mission pop up after i had the hood on 100%. I had it late in the game, so i had unlimited rockets & was more or less invincible to damage. just sat there & punked them for like 15 minutes.

Found a good way, to do the "Taunt 50 gang members" challenge.

I made a basejump of one of the high hideouts and as i dropped on the street, there was a small group of gang members. I taunted one, and then the others attacked me. I killed some till I got 3 notoriety stars. Then I walked as near as possible to one of the enemys. After they slapped me I started the taunt move. And it counted towards the challenge.

Therefore: You can taunt already fighting gang members, if you let youself slap and then taunt.

Gang Members Taunted (Taunt 50 Gang Members):

Simply walk up to Non-Hostile gang members and taunt them :dleft:. This can NOT be done when the gang member are in the middle of a firefight. Although it’s pretty funny to taunt them while they’re shooting at you, it does not count.

I'm sorry but this CAN be done in a fire fight maybe not in some people's games but it definitely worked in mine.

Hopefully this hasn't been posted before, if you want an easy way to kill Specialists I advise you to do what I did. Early on in the game you will have Vulture heli, go to a gang operation and destroy it and then find some place and hover over the road at height where you can see the enemy cars. Just keep destroying cars and soon you will have the specialists kills, plus you will work your way up few other challenges like destroying cars, killing brutes, multi kills. This is I think the easiest way to do all those challenges.

EDIT: Also easy way to finish Run over 500 people challenge is to go to the island with the crashed STAG plane (wont spoil it for those who don't know what happens on the island) and just start running over 'people' without any hassle from police.

I've managed to do it a few times in combat but

never on a consistent basis. It looks like the game is just not that reliable when it comes to recognizing taunts in that siituation and counting them accordingly.

Enemies from different situations react differently to taunts. Enemies who were always going to be there in missions will never be taunted whereas any enemy on the street, hostile or not, will be taunt-able.

Personally I finished the game, then was doing some of the car theft missions and one of them gives you a 3 star decker rating, I finished the mission, killed the deckers and let them "Come At Me (christrout91)". Then I taunted the gang member and shot him in the head. Also killed the special deckers.

Does anyone know if Distance Traveled carry over to DLC?

It wouldn't matter. As long as you are moving around Steelport, it adds on to the Distance Travelled challenge.

I'm sorry but this CAN be done in a fire fight maybe not in some people's games but it definitely worked in mine.

X2

Worked for me during shootouts with rival gangs also.

Clearly something is wrong in your game then. You're the only one that was able to taunt with them shooting.

For what it's worth at this point, I managed it as well with no problems just now.

I'd responded to a survival that had morningstar as the enemy and I just walked up to everyone of them and taunted them before killing them.

It was difficult, as it would take a couple of tries before it registered, but it DOES work.

What I believe to be the case is that you have to be facing them head on and up close for it to count. When I was taunting the gangers walking around in the street I had the same issue, it only worked if I walked up to their face and did it, and then during combat I had to walk up to their faces again. Once I figured that out, I got all the ones I needed in about 5 minutes, which was about 25ish.

I know it doesn't mean much now really, but for anyone else joining in to play this game late like I am, it's good to know that you CAN taunt during combat and it still be successful.

Another good place to do the base jumps would also be the penthouse crib you steal at the start of the game. It is generally not to far away and you can just drop there :)

The very first penthouse crib is an EXCELLENT place to get the basejumping challenge.

My method:

1. Go onto the helicopter pad and dodge roll off of the left edge. Dodge rolling allows you to open your parachute more quickly, I think.

2. If you open your parachute fast enough, the base jumping target will be a straight shot down the street. No turning or anything needed. Just slow down your descent as needed.

3. Land the jump.

4. Steal a car and go back up to your crib.

5. Repeat!

If you do wait too long to your chute, the target will instead be one closer to the crib, requiring you to turn around and potentially miss it. I think it's more quick that searching for a helicopter/plane, flying, and risk having the target in some hard to reach place.

Answer here : http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=345086&page=3

In fact, you can even compliment them while they are hostile by doing the same trick. The only thing is that the game won't display text (contrary to the taunt which is displayed, even when they are hostile) to show you it worked but if you go check in your stats, you'll see it worked.

I did 90% of the taunts required during a survival too, and did the human shield at the same time (killing each enemy taunted to know which one I taunted and which one I didn't)

Not sure if it has been said before, sorry not going to read through 7 pages of stuff. But Compliments can be done on regular citizens, just finished mine. Also, distance traveled to be honest is easiest with vtol flying in circles with rubber band on joystick while you watch a movie or such, just save every now and then. :)

Ok, so I just went from 6 taunts to 50 in about 5-10mins, all while being shot at. At first they weren't counting and I couldn't work out why. Eventually I realised that it only registers if you're right up close to them. Like basically nose to nose. And even then I sometimes had to press the taunt button a couple of times before it registered.

I doubt it will make a difference, but I'll add that I was fighting Luchadores.

It may or may not work for everyone, but it seems like a much quicker option for those struggling, so it's worth a shot.

I have the stoppie distance challenge at 1000/1000 feet, yet my game is saying that I have 30/40 challenges done when I should have 31/40.

How do I fix this?

Edit: I found a fix, I just went ahead and did some more stoppies and then I got rewarded. Go figure.
