WORK IN PROGRESS

Post questions in this thread and they will get answered. I would prefer to not put any spoilers in this thread so if you have a specific question relating to a quest it may be a better option to create a new thread (if you can not find it posted elsewhere of course).

DISCLAIMER: Please be aware that the information in this thread is only correct to the best of my knowledge at the time of writing. If you see something is wrong please let me know so I can fix it.

Please check the following link for some great guides and info on alchemy, marriage, followers, skill books, dragon shouts and skill leveling, but please note, there may be spoilers;

THE BASICS

Before we start, I know there is a lot of writing in this thread, but if you have the time, have a read through these first few posts. Also if you have time have a quick browse through the "Help" menu in the systems tab of the journal in-game. A lot of helpful information can be here and in the in-game help menu and even if you think you are an Elder Scrolls veteran you may learn something new!

The information I have posted in this thread comes from a combination of the following;

Skills

There are 18 Skills in Skyrim, which can be broken down into three schools, Magic, Combat and Stealth. Each skill is represented by a constellation. Please note that the following skill descriptions have been taken directly from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Official Game Guide. The black italic text is what is required to actually level up in the skill. They are as follows;

MAGIC

Alteration: Alteration Spells manipulate the physical world and its natural properties. This school includes some of the best defensive spells available (the 'Flesh' spells), as well as a wide range of utility spells like Waterbreathing, Telekenesis and Paralysis. Your Alteration skill increases when you cast a useful Alteration spell on a valid target. For example, you don't get credit for casting Oakflesh but never entering combat, casting Waterbreathing but never entering the water or Detect Life if noone is around.

Conjuration: Conjuration Spells allow you to raise the dead, summon creatures from Oblivion, Draw powerful bound weapons from thin air and trap the souls of your defeated foes. Your Conjuration skill increases when you cast a Conjuration spell and use it effectively, such as sending your summoned creature into battle, doing damage with a bound weapon, or successfully trapping a soul.

The conjuration skill only increases when you first cast a bound weapon spell, if you continue to use the bound weapon it then falls under the weapon category, eg casting a bound sword in combat will raise you conjuration skill, then using the sword on enemies will raise your one-handed skill. Also soul trap only needs to sucessfully hit the enemy to raise the skill, you don't need to sucessfully trap the soul by killing them.

Destruction: Destruction magic harnesses the elemental forces of fire, frost, and shock to obliterate your foes. This skill improves when you damage enemies with Destruction spells, based on the amount of Damage you do. You get the same increase for killing a Frost Troll with one Fire Storm as for killing it with ten Lightning Bolts, and no increase at all if the spell misses it's target.

In addition to its listed damage, each element has its own innate effect: Flame spells set your enemies on fire (doing damage over time), Frost spells slow your foes and sap their stamina, and Shock spells drain their Magika.

Enchanting: Enchanting Allows you to enchant your own magic arms and armor. Your Enchanting Skill increases whenever you enchant or disenchant an item (Based on the value of the enchantment), and when you recharge an enchanted item.

While initially more difficult to level than Smithing or Alchemy, Enchanting is especially powerful in allowing you to maximise your potential with the right combination of enchantments. If you plan to explore Enchanting later in your adventure, it's worth disenchanting the magic items you find early on to build up your enchanting skill and learn a wide variety of effects. You may also want to develop your Smithing skill to ensure you have a ready supply of weapons and armor to work with.

Illusion: Illusion Magic manipulates the minds of those around you, sending them into a Frenzy or compelling them to Flee in terror. Illusion also offers a number of useful spells for a stealthy character, such as Invisibility and Muffle. Your Illusion skill increases when you cast a useful Illusion spell on a valid target. For example you don't get credit for casting Fear on a character that's immune to the spell, or Invisibility when noone is around to see you.

Many Illusion Perks are designed to help you overcome the major limitation of Illusion Magic: the level restrictions on who your spells can affect.

Restoration: Restoration spells shape life energy, allowing you to heal yourself and your companions, drive back the undead, and create Protective wards. Your Restoration skill increases when you use these spells effectively: To Heal damage, turn Undead, or sheild yourself in Combat. It does not increase if you Heal someone who is already at full health, or cast a turn undead spell when no undead are around.

COMBAT

Archery: Archery represents the skill and training needed to wield a bow effectively in combat. The greater your skill, the more deadly your shots. Your Archery skill improves when you damage enemies with a bow and arrows, with the amount of increase based on the damage that you do (minus any enchantments). Of course, only shots that hit their mark will count.

Block: Block is the art of deflecting an enemy's blows with your shield or weapon. Your Block skill reduces the damage you take and the amount you stagger when you block an attack. Your skill increases when you successfully block damage (based on the damage of the blow before it was blocked), or when you successfully bash an enemy with a weapon or shield.

Note that parries with One- or Two-handed weapons are also improved by your Block skill and many Block Perks- you don't have to be using a shield to benefit from this skill. But remember if you have a second weapon or spell equipped in your left hand, you can't block at all.

In the Block constellation, the left arc offers shield-specific damage reduction perks, while the right arc focuses on bash and power bash perks that work with both shield and weapon blocks.

Heavy Armor:Heavy Armor allows you to make more effective use of Iron, Steel, Dwarven, Orcish, Ebony, Dragonplate, and Daedric armors. Heavy Armor offers excellent protection, though its weight will slow you down and reduce the amount of gear you can carry. High-end sets of Heavy Armor are especially rare, so you may wish to consider Smithing so you can craft your own when the time comes.

Your Heavy Armor skill increases when you take damage while wearing heavy armor, based on the damage of the incoming blow. If you're wearing more than one kind of armor, the incoming damage is divided up among the pieces before being used to calculate skill uses. So, the more Heavy Armor you're wearing, the more damage will be assigned to it, and the faster this Skill will increase.

The Heavy Armor constellation has two main themes: The left arc focuses on unusual perks, or those useful in specific situations, while the right arc emphasizes statiscally-powerful perks for heavy armor purists.

One-Handed:The One-Handed Skill governs the use of weapons like the sword, war axe, mace, and dagger. Those trained in this skill deliver more deadly blows. To improve this skill, you must damage enemies with a One-Handed weapon. The skill improves based on the amount of damage you do (minus any enchantments), not the number of swings you take, so while it might take ten hits to kill a bandit with a dagger, you will get the same skill increase for killing him in three with a mace.

A number of perks in the One-Handed constellation improve a specific type of One-Handed weapon. If you generally use the best weapon you can find (no matter what type it is), it's wiser to invest you perks elsewhere: better to have a bonus you can rely on than one you only see occasionally.

Smithing: Smithing is the art of creating and improving weapons and armor. Smithing workstations Include a Blacksmith Forge, Grindstone (for weapons), and Workbench (for armor). Any improvements made at any of these stations count towards your Smithing skill, with the amount of increase based on the value of the item you craft or improve. To increase this skill as quickly as possible, forge your own items and then improve them. You can make Hide and Iron items without taking any perks. You can Improve any item without taking any perks. However, you need perks to create any advanced items, such as Dwarven or Ebony weapons and armor.

Mining, Smelting, and Tanning provid raw materials for smithing, although they do not count towards this skill. Smithing synergizes well with Enchanting, since it guarantees you a ready supply of items to enchant.

Two-Handed: The Two-Handed Skill governs the use of Large weapons such as greatswords, battle axes, and warhammers. Those trained in this skill deliver more Lethal and powerful blows. To improve this skill, Damage enemies with a Two-Handed weapon. The Skill improves based on the amount of damage you do (minus any enchantments), not the number of swings you take, so you get the same increase regardless of how many it takes to fell your foe.

A number of perks in the Two-Handed constellation improve a specific type of Two-Handed weapon. If you generally use the best weapon you can find (no matter what type it is), it's wiser to invest your perks elsewhere: Better to have a bonus you can rely on than one you only see occasionally.

STEALTH

Alchemy: Alchemy allows potent potions and deadly poisons. Their effects are determined by the ingredients you use, but their potency is based on your Alchemy skill. Your skill increases when you discover a new ingredient effect or successfully craft a potion (based on the value of the potion). It also increases slightly if you attempt to craft a potion but fail- while you may lose the ingredients, the experiment isnn't a total loss.

Light Armor: Light Armor allows you to make more effective use of Hide, Leather, Elven, Glass, and Dragonscale armor. Light Armor offers a good balance between weight, protection, and mobility, and is recommended for stealthy characters or those with other forms of protection (such as a good shield or the occasional ward) to supplement their defenses.

Your Light Armor skill increases when you take damage while wearing light armor, based on the damage of the incoming blow. If you're wearing more than one kind of armor, the incoming damage is divided up among the pieces before being used to calculate skill uses, so wearing more light armor will allow this skill to develop faster.

Lockpicking: Lockpicking allows you to open locked doors and containers faster, more easily, and with fewer broken lockpicks. This skill increases when you pick the lock on a door, container or trap trigger hinge, based on the difficulty of the lock. It also increases (slightly) if you break a pick, so if you try picking a difficult lock and fail, it isn't a total loss.

The Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert and Master Locks Perks decrease the difficulty of picking locks of the corresponding locks of the corresponding level. This helps save on lockpicks (and frustration), but depending on your Lockpicking skill and your own personal skill at Lockpicking, you may not find them necessary.

Pickpocket: Pickpocket is the stealthy art of lifting gold and other valuables from an unsuspecting target. This skill increases whenever you successfully steal an item, based on the value of the item. Fail to pickpocket something, and you don't receive credit for the attempt. Of course, that's probably the least of your worries at that point...!

The highest-level Pickpocket Perks, Misdirection and Perfect Touch, allow you to steal equipped weapons and armor off of a creature. An excellent trick for a stealthy assassin, there are few more satisfying ways to take down a difficult foe than to strip them down to their underwear before stabbing them in the back...

Sneak: Sneak is the art of moving unseen and unheard. This skill improves when you sneak past someone, or perform a successful sneak attack. You don't get credit for sneaking in an empty hallway, or for just standing around- you must be sneaking (crouched) near someone who can detect you. Avoiding detection is also critical: the moment you are spotted, your sneak attempt has failed, and you can no longer perform a sneak attack (until you hide again)

Speech: Speech allows you to haggle, bribe, persuade and intimidate others to do as you ask. The higher your Speech skill, the better the prices you get when buying or selling items, and the greater your odds of success at dialouge challenges. Your Speech skill doesn't require any special effort to raise: it increases naturally when you sell items to a merchant (based on the value of the item), or when you succeed at a Persuade or Intimidate challenge (based on it's difficulty).

To increase your skills, you have three options;

  • Use a skill.

The lower the skill level, the faster it will increase from use. To check your progress in a skill, check the bar in the skill menu under the name of the skill.

  • Training.

Some NPC's will offer you training for in certain skills, for a fee. You can only train 5 times per level across all skills so use your training wisely. Also worth noting is that each NPC has a maxium skill level they can train you to which is indicated by their proficiency (ie. novice - master)

  • Skill Books.

There are books everywhere in Skyrim, some of which increase a particular Skill when read. You only have to open the book to gain the skill increase from it, so you will know straight away if you have found one.

Raising Level

To raise your Level, you have to increase your skills. Any combination of skills will do, or you can just stick to one in particular. The higher level the skill is that you increase, the faster you will level up. You can check your progress in a level by going to the Skills Menu and looking at the bar at the top of the screen.

Leveling up

When you have raised your Level enough, you will Level up. When you level up you can go into the Skill menu where you must choose between increasing either your Health, Magika or Stamina. You will also gain one Perk Selection which can be used immeadiately or saved for later.

Perks

Perks are special abilities or enhancements to your skills. They are represented by stars in their respective constellations. To select a perk, you must first meet the skill requirement for it and have any pre-requisite perks that it requires. For example, If you want to upgrade your Archery skill and get the Eagle Eye perk (Pressing Block while aiming will zoom in your view) then you must first unlock the Overdraw perk (Bows do 20% more damage.) Some Perks even have multiple ranks and can be upgraded repeatedly like Overdraw (+20% per additional rank).

Travel

There are a few different ways to travel around the beautiful Land of Skyrim.

  • Fast Travel

You can Fast Travel, which is for those that just want to get where they are going quickly. To fast travel, select a location on the map and press :abut: You can only Fast Travel to a Location you have been to previously, and Time will move forward according to how far you go. If you have a Horse it will fast travel with you and when travelling to cities, it will be found in the nearest stable. You can Fast Travel from anywhere except interiors or whilst in combat.

  • Horses

You can Ride a Horse, which is for those that want to see the landscape and explore a bit but still want to have a bit of speed. You can not attack whilst on a horse though so keep that in mind. Horses cost 1000 gold and all have the same speed, stamina and health (with the exception of one unique horse). The only thing that differs is the color. They can at times attack enemies if provoked but are also prone to fleeing. They are very hardy and can take a good beating, and they also have a Health bar so you can heal them with the spell "Healing Hands" if they start to lose alot of health.

  • Horse & Cart

You can Take a Horse & Cart, which is good for discovering certain towns that you have not yet been to, but not much else. This method will also cost you some gold.

  • Walking

You can Walk! Although this is the slowest form of transportation, it is my personal favourite and really lets you explore every nook and cranny of your chosen path and really helps feel the depth of the game, especially with random encounters

;) When walking, you can press and hold :lbbut: to sprint. Sprinting consumes Stamina though so be careful if running into battle.

Each mode of travel has their own pros and cons, so it is ultimately up to you and your style of play to determine which way you get around.

Mining

A great way to find ore for Smithing, is Mining. You do not need any specific perks or skills to mine. All you need is to have a Pickaxe in your inventory and you are set to go! Pickaxes can be found in mines, or sometimes a merchant will have them in stock, but I would suggest not buying one if you are headed into a mine because you will find them all over inside.

If you find an ore vein and you have a pickaxe in your Inventory, Just walk up to it and press

:abut: to automatically mine the ore from it. You can usually get 2-3 ores from a vein as well as the occasional gem of random quality. The ore in a vein will respawn after 1 month (game time), so it is good to try and remember where the good ones are. Every ore is mineable except for Dwemer metal which can be found in Dwemer cities. Ore veins can be found on the surface all over Skyrim, but are much more common at higher altitudes and in mines. For a list of known mines please check the link at the start of this post.

Smithing

Smithing is the skill to create and upgrade weapons and armor. It also allows you to make jewellery. To begin smithing you will first need some of the following materials, depending on what item you are trying to create.

  • Animal skins

  • Leather

  • Leather straps

  • Ore

  • Ingots

  • Dwemer metal

  • Dragon bone

  • Deadra hearts

You do not need any other special equiptment or skills to begin smithing, but you will need the following;

  • Forge

For creating new weapons and armor from raw materials.

  • Grindstone

To improve weapons.

  • Smithing Bench

To improve armor.

  • Smelter

To change raw material into ingots.

  • Tanning rack

To turn pelts into leather, and leather into strips.

Most if not all of these work stations can be found in any main town or city and can also be found around the wild or in caves. If you are lucky you may even stumble across some "Special Forges" in your travels

;)

FAQ's

Does difficulty affect experience gained? Yes and No. A higher Difficulty means enemies have more HP and deal more damage. Since all weapon and armor skills level up according to the damage dealt for weapons (minus any enchantments) or taken for armor, higher difficulties will result in these particular skills growing faster. Please note that the skills are raised solely through damage, so killing an enemy with one hit with a sword will get you the same skill increase as taking three hits to kill it with a dagger. This is the same for armor. Taking 5 hits from a Mudcrab adding up to 50 damage will net you the same skill increase as taking one hit from a bear doing 50 damage.

The Game seems ridiculously Hard! How to Change difficulty? To change your Difficulty at any time in-game, Press Start to open your journal, then

:ltbut: or :rtbut: until you get to the System menu. There you can select Settings>Gameplay> then you can adjust the difficulty. If the game seems ridiculously hard, might be worth having a look what your difficulty is set on. A lot of people have reported that their game defaulted on "Master" which is the hardest difficulty.

What is the maxium number of perk points one player can get? The following was taken from

UESP wiki

The game imposes a soft cap at level 50. Past level 50, leveling up happens much more slowly. The theoretical level cap (maximum level) is level 81, reached by increasing all skills to 100.(tested with player.advskill console cheat)

One implication of the leveling system is that although it is possible to create a character with 100 in all skills, it is not possible for one character to unlock all skill perks.

There are more than 250 total skill perks (including multi-point perks), but only around 80+20 (80 perks from leveling plus around 20 possible perks from quests) of them can be unlocked by any given character.

Note: Need confirmation whether quest rewards only give skill points (via trainers and/or books which count in the maximum level cap of 81)or are there quests/trainers/books which actually give "Perks to increase"

i have conformation i found a book on the map within a chest once i opened to read it it automatically gave me perk points to the subjet the book was on

How do I increase my carry capacity? Increasing your stamina increases your Carry capacity. Each time you increase your stamina by leveling your carry capacity increases by 5 points. 10 Stamina = 5 Carry Capacity. There are other ways to increase your carry capacity such as the Extra Pockets perk in the Pickpocket Skill Constellation, the Steed Stone Blessing and there is an enchantment for your armor that increases your carry capacity. There are also many other ways to temporarily improve your stamina, including spells, potions, enchantments and blessings, but I am pretty certain that none of those will actually increase your Carry capacity (even whilst the stamina increase is in effect).

Where can I store items?

The only guaranteed safe place is in a container you own, such as containers found in a house you have bought. There are other places that myself and others have used with no problems, but the only guaranteed safe place (according to the game manual) is in a container you own.

How to buy a house and how to upgrade my house? In order to buy a house, you need to talk to the steward in the town that the house is located. You also talk to them to purchase upgrades for your house. Before you can do this though, you generally have to complete quests in the hold where the house is located to gain the favor of the Jarl. For a list of Houses, where they can be found and which requirements need to be filled check here

[spoiler=housesinskyrimforsale]

Whiterun:

  • Cost: 5000 Gold
  • Purchase From: Proventus Avenicci, the Jarl’s Steward. Must complete the quest “Bleak Falls Barrow.”

Riften:

  • Cost: 8000 Gold
  • Purchase From: The Steward of Riften.

Markarth:

  • Cost: 8000 Gold
  • Purchase From: The Steward of Markarth.

Windhelm:

  • Cost: 12000 Gold
  • Purchase From: The Steward of Windhelm, after completing quests for the Stormcloak Faction.

Solitude:

  • Cost: 25000 gold
  • Purchase From: The Steward of Solitude, only after completing a quest for the Jarl of Solitude.

How to cure diseases? Go to any church and use the altar, or use a potion of cure disease. Note that normal methods will not work for Lycanthropy (Werewolf).

How to cure Lycanthropy? For a cure for Lycanthropy please check here

[spoiler=cureforlycanthropy]

Finish the quest line for the companions and seek out the leader kolak. (speaking to others in the guild or to a woman called Aela the Huntress in whiterun will give you information on the cure).

The companions will then offer you a quest to cure the lycanthropy. However, it's a permanent cure, and you can't become a werewolf again after this.

So choose wisely :p.

How to cure Vampirism?

For Vampirism, you can cure it with the normal methods for up to three days after contracting the disease. Once you are a Stage 1 Vampire, normal methods will not cure you. For a cure for Stage 1 Vampirism, check here

[spoiler=cureforvampisim]

Before speaking to anyone, make sure you’re no longer a Stage 4 vampire. Stage 4 vampires are attacked on sight, to avoid this, wait until night and drink the blood of a sleeping person. Even sleeping beggars will do. Just crouch/sneak and interact with a sleeping NPC to drink their blood.

If you’re still having trouble drinking blood, remember that you have two useful abilities as a Stage 4 vampires — Embrace of Shadows, and Vampire Seduction. Embrace of Shadows turns you invisible, while Vampire Seduction will make an NPC calm and cease wanting to attack you

Once you’re a Stage 1 vampire, normal disease cures will no longer work. You’ll need a better way.

  1. To begin your quest, speak with any Inn Keeper or Bartender about rumors. They’ll tell you that a man named Falion in Morthal is studying vampires.
  2. Find Morthal east of Fort Snowhawk. Once there, talk to Falion and he’ll discuss how to cure vampirism.
  3. He’ll tell you to get a Black Soul Gem. If you don’t have one, Falion will sell you one. Before being cured, you’ll need to fill the Black Soul Gem.
  4. To fill a Black Soul Gem, you’ll need to cast a Soul Trap spell on a human, then kill them. Any human will work, including bandits and enemies.
  5. You’ll need to obtain a Soul Trap spell, sold by any magic vendor. If you’re really desperate, try the College of Winterhold, or explore Whiterun to find a shop. If you don’t have high magic skills, just purchase a Soul Trap scroll.
  6. With a filled Black Soul Gem, return to Falion and talk to him to complete the ritual. You’re now cured of vampirism!

Where can I find rare/enchanted items? Besides enchanting yourself, Everywhere! There are too many to list here, but there is one easy exploit I discovered to get rare items to spawn. When Fighting a Dragon, Make a save just before it loses the last of it's health. It is very IMPORTANT that you save BEFORE the dragon dies or the exploit won't work. Once the Dragon is dead, loot it's corpse. No rare items? Nothing that interests you? No problem! Just reload your save, deal the final blow on the dragon again, then loot his corpse again. If the exploit was done correctly, The items spawned inside the Dragon Corpse will be different. Not sure if it works for all Dragons, I was using a Blood Dragon and found some enchanted armor and weapons.

Can I continue playing once I have completed the main storyline? Yes you can. After finishing the main story line completely you can still explore Skyrim, go into dungeons and still recieve and complete side quests.

1. Where can I find a pickaxe?

2. Is there some sort of mine where I can go to mine ore or are there just random deposits around the world?

There are random ore deposits just about anywhere. There are mines all over the map, look for two pick axes crossed like an X or a smelter outside. Picks can usually be picked up inside the mines. The easiest one I found was west of riverwood (the starting town).

My question. Where can you find a "Bribe" option in a quest? or anywhere for that matter.

Mostly when you're doing favors for NPCs... there's a lot of "talk to so and such about XYZ" crap, and when you go to talk to so and such, you'll usually have a persuade/bribe/intimidate set of options.

Riften, I think, has a few good quests for the above.

Yeah I just did a misc. quest in riften, the one about skooma. A Bribe is anytime you talk to someone and instead of persuading or intimidating, use the money option, it doesn't say bribe it will just have an amount of gold next to it. worked like a charm.

perhaps some information about respawning resources? i haven't been able to find any information if ore deposits respawn or not.

I will add all of this Info, but just FYI, II OE II, ore veins take 1 month in game time to respawn. I can not confirm myself but that is what I have found doing research. That is quite a long time. Anyone feel free to confirm!

Need some questions answered:

[spoiler=1]

Q: Why won't the Alik'r Warrirors in Whiterun leave, I've finished the quest and killed their leader.

Q: Why is my third person view so close up? It was zoomed out some, how do I get it back?

Q: How am I supposed to kill a dragon if it only flies around and uses fire but never lands near me?

Need some questions answered:

[spoiler=1]

A1: I honestly do not know, I have the same thing where they won't leave. At first I actually thought they were going to ambush me, but so far they just hang around like a bed smell.

A2: Answered by BBDrew84 above

A3: What I found works best in this situation is to try and find an open area nearby where it can land and hang around there. If there are any NPC's around that also helps entice them to come down. Also keep shooting it with your bow and eventually it should come down. I had an issue last night where I had to keep reloading because a dragon was just flying around for a few minutes (not attacking at all) then it would fly away.

My question is, How do you fill an empty soul gem?

You must first have a soul trap spell. It can be in scroll form, spell form or weapon enchanment form. You will also need a soul gem. You cast the spell on an enemy and then kill it while the effects are active and you will capture it's soul. The easiest way is to have a weapon enchanted with the soul trap effect so you do not have to bother casting the spell, but I suggest buying the spell regardless. I bought the spell from the court wizard in whiterun. Note that Higer level enemies will require a Higher level soul gem.

Keep the questions coming everyone, I will eventually add them all to the Original post. Also good job to everyone helping answer questions, this is how the internet should work :)

** SPOILER **

I'm trying to complete the quest "Diplomatic Immunity" and I've made it in the first door with a guard walking around the room, made it up those stairs - but cant make it past that Mage.

Any other tips besides invisibility?

I searched this thread and didn't get any hits on "Sprint", but maybe you should add a note to the "walking around" portion that you actually have a Sprint ability that is tied to your Stamina.

Sprint is mapped to http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lb.png I literally just found this out after playing the game for three days :)

EDIT:

Oh, also another recently learned trick: even though you can't "store" most traps (like bear traps) in your inventory, you can hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.png to move them around like other items.

As far as I am aware, no, Unfortunately Legendary is the Highest Level you can upgrade equiptment to. However you can add enchanments to equiptment to make it a little stronger.

EDIT: Stumbled across this on the Elder Scrolls Wiki, I can't confirm it myself but perhaps someone else could? HERE is a link to the page, look down the bottom and have a look at the chart.

Weapons and armor can be improved using either a Grindstone (Weapons) or a Workbench (Armor). The level of improvement is based off wether you have the skill relating to the item (i.e. Steel Smith for improving a Steel Sword). Legendary is the last upgrade name. But there is no end for upgrading weapons and armors. You can enchant armor with smithing skill, using smithing potions and raise your smithing level more then 100. I suppose it can be about 600+ with perfect equipe.

Can someone point me in the direction of an invisibility potion? .

A combination of any of the Following ingredients can be used to craft an Invisibility potion.

Ice wraith teeth

Chaurus Eggs

Nirnroot

Vampire Dust

Luna Moth Wing

I am not 100% but I am pretty sure you can buy them at "Arcadia's Cauldron" in Whiterun.

[spoiler=diplomaticimmunity]

I'm trying to complete the quest "Diplomatic Immunity" and I've made it in the first door with a guard walking around the room, made it up those stairs - but cant make it past that Mage Any other tips besides invisibility?

I am not sure where you are up to in the mission sorry, need to be a bit more specific. HERE is a link to the Elder Scrolls Wiki "Diplomatic Immunity" Page, might be worth reading through that.

Okay so if your a werewolf and in your human form, are you still immune from Vampirism?

Yes, you are still immune to ALL diseases when in human form.

Just purchased the house in Whiterun, now where in the heck is it? I searched everywhere and can't find it.

The house is located just next door to the blacksmith, War Maidens. The house is Called Breezehome.

[spoiler=darkbrotherhood] Before you join them in Skyrim you may have to kill one or two of their assassins. If you loot their bodies you will find a note stating that somone wants you dead and that they have already paid.

While on your travels, go to any inn and ask for the latest gossip. The innkeeper will tell you that there is a child trying to perform the Black Sacrement in Windhelm. If you happen to be in Riften, speak to a man named Maul. He will be standing against a post as soon as you enter the city. After sharing some tough words with you, he gives you information on both the Theives Guild and the Dark Brotherhood; for a price, of course.

You could alternatively talk to Idesa Sadri inside Candalhearth Hall in Windhelm and ask about a cursed child performing the Black Sacrement. Idesa can also be overheard talking to Grimvar Cruel-Sea about the child, Aventus Aretino, outside the Aretino Residence. Aventus Aretino can be found inside the Aretino Residence, which has a novice-level lock. The child will offer you the Innocence lost quest, which will lead to the quest With Friends like these...

Anyone know who I take the unusual stone/gem to?

[spoiler=unusualgems] Unusual Gems can be appraised by a few people; two of which are Maul in Riften and Vex, part of the Theives Guild, also in Riften.

Please try and read the Original post. It would be better for quest specific questions to be directed elsewhere to avoid spoilers. If you can not find a thread answering your questions please feel free to create a new one.
