I mak3 big boom
Every disk I try to put in my xbox it starts reading then it just says unrecognized disk. Anybody got any ideas or do I have to send this thing in for repair. I have an XBOX 360 s by the way.
ChickinOnaChain
Have you tried cleaning it? There's a certain way and I THINK it's wiping it inner to outer.
DeekBoy
Have you tried cleaning it? There's a certain way and I THINK it's wiping it inner to outer. That was the way that I cleaned my discs as well. you something very soft that won't leave anything behind, I use a micro fiber rag.
Carmona
If its every disc odds are it could be his disc drive that is dirty....the odds of every disc being dirty are low. Try using a disc drive cleaner.

pandaliamcod6
I have suffered with this problem for the past 6 months, so normally it takes about 5mins-1hour to get a game on:(
Killerchronic
Either dirty lens or failing one, the latter would require repair/replacement.

DecadentBeaver
I've had this problem before. It sounds like your disc drive is faulty.
AvengingCactus7
I don't have a slim, nor do I have a warrenty so I just opened mine up, took out the disc drive, cleaned it, and then screwed it in tighter than it was. It stopped making that loud buzzing noise it was making before and almost everything reads the first time. This is a 360 from the first year they came out, too. Stumpster2
to me it sounds like it could be a laser problem, either dust, dirt or genuinely a faulty (possibly burnt out laser), if the disc drive cleaning doesn't work then call/email MS and see what they say. Paulson
I had a few unrecognized disc issues lately as well. All I had to do was take my hard-drive out, and then put it back in...ridiculously simple fix that actually worked. Shockingly I can thank Xbox online support for that lol
