Clutch2290
So apparently I must have done something wrong. I started up as a QB who was a high draft pick. After I won my last superbowl they forced me to retire even though I still had 4 years left of my contract. I played for 14 years and finished with 58,667 yards, 527 TDs, 256 INT. My legacy score finished at 13,771 although I have 11 Superbowls, 11 Championships, and 22 Yearly Awards. I wasn't able to pass Montana and pretty much wasted the past week. If this is this case for everyone else, I would highly suggest not going for the complete 1,000 points in this game.
big red marino
What difficulty and how long were you quarters?
biggiejerseys
That's a pretty high touchdown to interception ratio.
Darth Odan
You won 11 superbowls and didn't pass Montana in the legacy score? Did you adjust the sliders? I won 6 as a WR and passed Jerry Rice who has more legacy points than Montana. The only reason I can think of that could explain why they fired you is because you failed to complete a season objective.
BladeMDP
You must've adjusted sliders. It's very obtainable, I was the first one to get this achievement - here is what I posted about this achievement: Here is the way I got this achievement. I don't "guarantee" this will work for you, depends on your playing style and general aptitude towards the game. First, set up your created player: - Pocket Passer - High Draft Pick - Kansas City Chiefs (this ensures you start immediately) This also starts you off at an 84 or 85 rating. Go default settings, DO NOT adjust anything (sliders, difficulty levels, nothing) Start your season. I generally played 4 games a season. The other games, I would sim, and if I didn't like the results (a win and milestones achieved) I would just exit the career, go back and try again. One of the ways I would determine which games to play is look at the opponents DEF ranking - if it was horrible (say 25 or higher) that would be one I would be most likely to play. Now, on my road to getting this achievement, I only used ONE PLAY - I just had many options out of that play. After you click on the game to play it, you will see an option of "advanced" here you can choose your offensive and defensive formation. For Offense, I would always choose the ATL formation. Here is the ONE PLAY that I ran: Gun Offense Spread Y Flex Formation Y PA Deep Outs This play is a 4 WR shotgun formation. The two outside receivers go about 15-18 yards and break towards sideline. The left slot receiver (my primary target always) takes a long post pattern. The right slot TE runs a short route, I generally just looked at him as a last resort. Now, this is where it gets to be like a real-life QB. You have to go through your progressions. When you get to the line of scrimmage, take a look at your safeties. If they're both deep, chances are they will take away the deep pass to the left slot receiver. So, I would look to hit the receiver between the LBs and the safeties. When you snap the ball, if the safety on the left either goes towards the left WR OR starts creeping up, give your slot receiver a chance to make his cut and then hit him, and he's off to the races. Now, if none of that happens, look to the outside receiver on the opposite hashmark side. You should then be able to hit him as he is making his cut to the sideline. If by chance he is covered, then if you have time, look towards your TE cutting across the middle. If nothing open take the sack. Now, you need to run no huddle as much as possible (hitting Y repeatedly after getting tackled in field) . I found this helps on the next play (maybe def has trouble getting set). Now, anytime I was within 5 yard line, I would still run this play, but audible (hit "X") to the "Quick Pass." Then after the snap, go to the left WR ("X") cutting into the end zone. If by chance I got to 4th down (anywhere on the field, no matter the distance needed for 1st down) I would go for it. The D seemed lax on 4th down plays, I would say I succeeded 98% of the time. So, again, I ran this ONE PLAY only, and was very comfortable reading the Defense pre play and during the play. My games ended up with 750-900 yds passing with 9-11 TDs (high of 1,100 yds and 14 TD passes). Obviously your goal is to win Superbowl, so if the week for you is successful, save after it, if not (meaning Sim didn't go well for that week), exit and restart and try again. Don't worry about playing the postseason games. Just sim (exit and restart if needed). For first 6 seasons, I averaged about 2000 legacy points a season. Now, in terms of XP, there's no exact science to it. I saved up for 50,000 to get the Development Trait upgrade (which increases the XP you get for each milestone/record/etc.). Once I got that, I saved up to 50,000 again to get the 2nd level of it. After that, I generally worked on the short pass/medium pass/long pass accuracy. For first 6 seasons, I won the Superbowl, MVP, Top Passer, Pro Bowl milestones (and others). For 7-10 seasons, I went up to All-Madden. Also, I did not worry about winning Superbowl, however, I did make sure I still made playoffs at least. It really is not that different other than the defensive players ARE faster, they will sack the heck outta you, and intercept you in a heartbeat. However, at this point my ability to run that play mentioned above was highly proficient, as well as reading the D, so it wasn't that much of an adjustment. Still averaged about the same stats per game. I just finished my 13th season (trying to get to 99 rating, currently at a 98). Here are my career stats at that point: 13 seasons 79,865 passing yards 854 TD passes 239 Ints 19,000 legacy points Again, I'm not saying this is going to work for you. You may have a different play and formation that you feel comfortable with. This play I was extremely comfortable with. My time estimate is about 20 hours for me to get this. Yeah, a sh*tpot full of time. If you have any questions, let me know.
twotonkoala
Granted I'm just finishing up my second year as QB, I already have over 4000 legacy points. As Montana is just over 16, that means I should have it about 8 years in with winning the super bowl, etc. And that's on All-Pro, I imagine I could speed it up by doing All-Madden. Simona
im on my 7th season in connected carrear i won 7 superbowls,7 championships, and i have 21 yearly awards im playing on pro will default settings but im not getting legacy points for winning superbowls and championships does anyone know why?? Enisha
You stop getting legacy points after your 5th SB win. One important thing is breaking career records. I did it in 11 or 12 years with adjusted sliders and not playing more than 5 games per season. I would've finished much faster if I also did the records for rushing and/or receiving. DarkManX
I too am having the same problem. I won ROY, MVP, OPY, and won the Superbowl and still only got 1440 legacy points. Is it because I also threw 35 Interceptions? I'm playing on all-pro and haven't touched any of the sliders.
mott1993
Pretty annoyed with this, finished my 15th season (couldn't be bothered to play after I won 5 superbowls) and was forced to retire 200 POINTS AWAY FROM MONTANA. Now I'm upset that I have to start over again
Demolition D
Pretty annoyed with this, finished my 15th season (couldn't be bothered to play after I won 5 superbowls) and was forced to retire 200 POINTS AWAY FROM MONTANA. Zharonxd
I don't understand the system behind the 'Legacy Score' too. I created my QB, All-Madden, low sliders! Why? Because I read it would help me - not sure after the above comments. I finished my first season with all possible awards, SB etc. ... Game Records, Season Records (no Receiving or Rushing records) and gained 1,150 points! Kinda low hm? Isn't there a straight-forward scheme here? scntyboy
this really isnt a solution, but more of a strategy. i was playing around trying to find out what gives you the most bang for the buck. here is what i did and what i got. pocket qb, high draft cowboys. only moved no fire coach. started with a 84 rating and was starter. i did 4 games using different settings. game 1. all madden with these sliders adjusted only pass block 100 run block 75 wr catching 75 pass def reaction time, int, pass rush 10 29-41 453 yds 5 tds 0 int gained 22 legacy points game 2 all pro. reset all sliders reset except left 3 def above the same 34-49 511 yds 6 td 2 int 28 legacy points game 3 pro all sliders reset except left 3 def above the same 33-43 514 yds 6 td 0int 28 legacy points game 4 pro all sliders at presets 39-60 616 yds 5 td 7 int 52 legacy points (nfl record game yds and season goal 20+tds) as you see everything was pretty much equal. game 1 i didnt get milestone of 500 yds so thats why its lower. game 4 i got record yards in a game and season goal of 20+ tds. so im pretty sure why that one is alot higher. i'll try one more game on the pro level and see if i get 28 points again. if thats the case then it really doesnt matter what difficulty you play on and where the sliders are. if you noticed something different please let me know Edited November 16, 2012 by scntyboy
scntyboy
edit. just played game 5 pro preset sliders 30-59 544 yds 6 td 2 int 27 legacy points as you see difficulty and sliders really do not make a difference. as long as you get 500+ yds and 5+ tds per game you are maxed out
twotonkoala
I don't really understand the above posts. You mentioned that in Game 4, you played on Pro with preset sliders, and managed almost double the points as the other games where you messed with the sliders, then conclude that sliders/difficulty don't matter? Am I missing something there? EDIT, I see you mentioned you only got 28 points on the last one you did, but I'm still confused as to why the 4th game was double everything else. To be honest, this seems like a kind of wild test. A lot of your points come from winning awards at the end of the season, and difficulty definitely comes into play at that point. I made almost 1k more on All Madden than I did on All Pro with other positions per year. Edited November 14, 2012 by twotonkoala
BladeMDP
yeah honestly this doesn't make any sense - difficulty level AND sliders do play a major part of it - I am speaking from my experience in playing it, there was a distinct difference at the end of the season from playing with adjusted sliders and on an easy difficulty versus playing with just default sliders. scntyboy
game 4 i forgot to mention i had a record game for passing yards and season goal of 20 tds. i just finished the super bowl. i did not do any practices, played the first 5 games just doing the above experiments, and simmed everything else. i didnt reload if i didnt meet milestones per game. i did play the super bowl, pro with sliders adjusted just for int and pass def. i beat the season records, won all the awards. and got the following 407-648 5571 yds 54 td 23 int and got 1551 legacy points. and that was not reloading any games if i did not get milestones Edited November 16, 2012 by scntyboy
Kno Logic
I just did the Emmit Smith achievement and I was able to pass with 6 SB and all time leader in yards and TDs
JackBauer24
These Achievements were why I traded the game in. Played as a high draft pick on SF, All-Pro sliders, 5-6 minute quarters, no slider adjustments, and couldn't get more than 6000 score after playing around 9 seasons. Decided to wait until after the patch, started over as a RB figuring it would be easier to get yards on passes, returns, and rushing. No difference. Still couldn't get a higher Legacy Score. Had over 14,000 rushing, 183 TDs, 730 receptions, 6400 yards, 74 TDs, 6 Super Bowls, 9 Pro Bowls, and still couldn't pass Emmitt. Was gonna wait for another update, but decided to take advantage of a GameStop trade in offer.
