I have now decided to put myself through this again, but i plan to take it too the extreme. 100% race distance on Expert, this being for my 7th and final season, hopefully also being my first with Red Bull. I am finishing my 5th now and have signed with Mercedes for season 6. I am also going to wait until the patch has been released for this. Should be interesting :D

-----------------------------------------------------

My season is as follows (20% distance). In my fourth season, driver no.2 at McLaren. (will update)

Bahrain; Q1 R1

Melbourne; Q1 R1

Malaysia; Q6 R2 - (should have won, AI didnt pit) RAIN

China; Q4 R2

Catalunya; Q6 R11

Monaco; DNF

Turkey; Q1 R1

Montreal; Q1 R1

Valencia; Q1 R1 RAIN

Silverstone; Q4 R5

Germany; Q1 R1

Hungary; Q1 R7 (accidental crash with Webber on lap 3, he came 11th with no points :D) RAIN

Spa; Q1 R1

Monza; Q1 R2 RAIN

Singapore; Q1 R6 RAIN

Japan; Q9 DNF (Took out Webber & Alonso)

Korea; DNF

Brazil; DNF (Took out Webber)

Abu Dhabi; DNF (Already had title, could have won if raced, love this circuit just lazy, lol)

Final Standings;

1) ME 253

2) Webber 227

3) Alonso 224

4) Hamilton 216

OK so im in no way proud of my antics in the last 4 races, but it was late and i wanted to get it done tonight rather than continue in the morning. I know i could have won Abu Dhabi and probably Brazil anyway. But i just couldn't be bothered. And with the 67 point lead that i had after Singapore i think it was safe to say i would have won the title on Expert without checky wrecking tactics anyway. At least i can play on Pro AI and have a bit more fun now, some of these races where just down right stressful, lol.

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! :D

As an aside, after my race in Germany, the bitch in my trailer said "We have a problem, it doesn't look like you are going to be able to complete your season objective." Um, I'm in first and the contract requirement is to finish 2nd or better. WTF is she on about? She doesn't have much faith in me, that's for sure.

I qualified well in Hungary, for me anyway, but couldn't keep pace with the top drivers. Decided to go kamikaze on them. Unfortunately, this has let Alonso into the Championship. I may redo this race, depending on how Spa plays out.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now done with my Expert Championship. As you can probably tell, I'm not a big fan of the final few tracks... Decided to go on a rampage. Cut it close, but got the achievement. It wasn't pretty, however, I'm very pleased to have this done and out of the way.

Sort of gave up on the last 2 races. Alonso won Singapore, Japan and Korea so my comeback ended anyway. I got GS reset this morning too, just to add insult to injury (Glitched a few Gears achievements like 3 years ago...). So looks like i'll forever be on 0G for F1 now. *sigh*

Still going to give it a go next season, stayed at Red Bull as #1 now.

Anyone watched Practice sessions 1 & 2 of the Korean GP this morning. Looks nothing like the game, lol. Looks like a very difficult circuit. Im not too bad at it on the game and a podium certainly isn't out reach for me there, maybe not a win but still. Good luck with yours Brad, i'd change down the difficulty and to ensure wins at the remaining races, secure Drver position 1 at Red Bull and have another go next season. Being Driver 2 is such a pain when trying to do this. Even though i have 6 wins under my belt half way through and a 42 point lead, it'll dissappear quickly due to Hungary and Japan. Just hoping to score points here, and if not, gonna sure as hell crush Webber into a wall before giving up, lol.

Im sure there is some sort of Bridge at the end of sector 2 that goes over the track, nothing there in real life. Maybe its just the track that is finished and everything else is still being built. Did you see the tyres, they were seriously fucked up after just a few laps, looked more like moth balls hahahah.

Yeah I saw that, too... I guess in F1 2011 the track will look more like its real life counterpart :)

And yes, the tyres were absolutely fucked up. Also, I think the curb on turn 16 is going to be a major pain in the ass for all the drivers.

Im more concerned about the pit lane. It's bothered me on the game but from watching the Practice sessions it just looks unecessarily dangerous, as with the exit (although i haven't seem if its in the same place as the game, looks different, track seems much thinner). I reccon there could be some serious incidents this weekend. Hopefully involving Vettel and Alonso. WEBBER FOR THE WIN!!!:woop:

Yeah, they were more worried about getting the track finished, after being delayed 3 months ago by weather problems. So they took money from other areas in the project, to make sure the track, pits and main building and stands were complete other areas will be finished in the next few month ready for 2011.

And yes, the tyres were absolutely fucked up. Also, I think the curb on turn 16 is going to be a major pain in the ass for all the drivers.

Hamilton and other drivers said it looked worst than it actully was to ride the curb at turn 16.

As for the tyres, it was to be expected to have above normal wear on them, as the track was only layed and finished 2 weeks ago and it is very dusty and dirty. There is concern of tyre issues on sunday, because of the expected rain. If it rains before the race, all the rubber will be washed away. If it rains during the race, it will be down to team stategy.

The pit entrence and exit has been brought up by only one driver, Trulli and it was because his car was stuck in gear, causing him to drive slowly over the racing line to enter the pit and because it is a blind corner, he was worried another car might come up behind him at race speed and plow into the back of him. So we could see them removing the barrier for 2011???

Everybody seems to be doing quite well on expert, i tried it and i just cant get used to changing gears on the controller, its really awkward

I won the drivers championship first season on Medium difficulty in the Lotus.

Im now halfway through my 2nd season in the Ferrari on Hard difficulty leading the championship.

Im not gonna bother again to do the expert achievement until i get a wheel.

With a wheel it's really easy and within a few races you get used to it and don't even think about it. You can gear change early/late and still be fine most of the time as well...

Good to see people going for this legit. If anyone wants to do some online racing with all assists off, add me.

Yeah I wanted to see if I could do it for real, didn't like the idea of the exploit. I think everyone has or is doing well, how did you get 1st in Malaysia, Vettel for me set a 1.35.053 with Webber 2nd 1 sec slower. I managed 4th not the best of laps but I couldn't get close to that, BTW You can add me too ;)

It really does not take long to get used to it infact I would not like auto not enough control for me, I like to be able to change gear when i am ready, not when the computer deems it time, Anyway thought you were already racing expert mode?.

Thats my biggest problem. all the other assists i could care less about but changing gears on a controller is just awful.

No, i changed it to expert at the start of my 2nd season, but i was coming nowhere in Bahrain, so i lowered the difficulty to hard ( which is still too easy for me )

Yeah I'm not saying it was not hard at first, I did my first career race (Lotus) with auto gears as I could only do 2.09's with manual, then obviously with auto I got 2.04's. In my now Ferrari with manual gears season 2 I get 1.55.7 massive difference in times and there was still more time, just wanted pole without overkilling my options.

I switched to manual at Melbourne season 1 and after I spend 20 mins practising I had mastered the gears. I do have to say, I do tend to use manual on all racing games, so this was an inevitable. I would say if you have time to practise spend the time, so much time to be had, then crank your AI up, it's the only thing that was switched to Legend from the start and never changed.

Sounds like I got a bit lucky then , Webber was second with a 1:36.3, I did a 1:36.2.

Also I have been very lucky with the rain so far. I didn't have any at Malaysia or Shanghai, hope that continues! PS I'll add you next time I get on live.

doing expert on the first season is not a good idea. haha. I did a race on easy and then went to expert in the virgin car. I used the expert exploit and ran my fastest lap ever at bahrain 1.59.xxx I was still nearly 3 seconds off the pole and only qualified in the teens. How mcuh faster do the cars get as you move to better teams. I would need to shave about 2 seconds off each lap just to compete for the lead. I will also mess with my set ups a bit more also.

I have fuel and tyre sim on, in a Virgin at Bahrain I can go around 1:58/9

However 2nd season in the Ferrari I pulled a 1:55 in qualifying and 1:56/7 through the race. Everything is generally a little sharper in a better car adding up to a big difference.

I imagine it will be even bigger at Red bull/Mclaren.

In Singapore my McLaren got a new aero update that gave me 20% more downforce, it from then on felt quite similar to the time trial cars. Had the pits not messed me about in Singapore i think it would have been a comfortable win. A place i've never won at. Shame really, escpecially after having qualifyed on pole.

Does the R&D stack?

For example, you got that 20% upgrade, next season when you research downforce aero, will that add another 20%, or the same 20% on again?
