giants001
In this glitch you will jump to the top of the generator which is out of reach from the horde & will cause the horde to randomly die while trying to reach you which counts as kills towards your zombie genocidest achievement. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7800/lightjj.jpg First things first, you need two controllers for a private game of the crash course versus campaign. The profile you want the achievement for will be a survivor. You only have to do the 2nd half of the campaign because the glitch is in the finale. Once at the finale you should get ammo and health packs just in case something goes wrong while doing the glitch. So here it is: 1.) Kill your teammates after the common infected in the area are all dead. Before turning on the generator you might want to practice the glitch until you get the hang of it. 2.) Turn on the generator and be ready to quickly start climbing. Note- You don't need to get into the glitch until after you restart the generator & the 3rd tank spawns, but I prefer doing if right after I turn on the generator the first time and then again after I restart it because it avoids doing any real fighting and the possibility of injury. Either way you will have to kill the first & second tanks & the rescue vehicle must be there for the horde to continually attack. 3.) It will take you 4 jumps to reach the highest possible part of the generator. I find it easiest to do the jumps from the left side of the pole but you can also go right in the middle of the pole. These pictures indicate what it looked like with each jump: Jump 1- http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1519/jump1b.jpg Jump 2- http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9255/jump2r.jpg Jump 3- http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/2323/jump3e.jpg Jump 4 will be your final position and you should try to be as centered as possible with the pole. A good way of telling if you're centered is to look at the black strip on the pole. If it is right down the middle of the pole (like in my picture) you are in the right position. http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4135/jump4.jpg"]http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4135/jump4.jpg [/url] 4.) The tank spawning & positioning is a crucial detail for this glitch. a.) If you spawn as the tank while you are a special infected then a computer will take over that special infected and there is a chance it will kill you. The solution to this is to just put your special infected wide in the open where it's and easy shot for you and when it says you will spawn as the tank shoot the special infected immediately. b.) The tank's position is very important because you have to find a place where you won't lose control of the tank & don't have to hit a survivor to reset the control. I previously thought that the tank had to be right under the survivor, next to the generator to keep control but I have noticed that you can be further away from the generator and still keep control. So you can keep the tank about halfway in between the generator and the truck without losing control. http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9212/tankh.jpg 5.) So at this point the zombies will be infinitely gathering & dying below you and you can just let the game sit for a while. I estimate a while is a bit over an hour and a half because you will get about 1000 kills every 20 minutes and you might lose some health throughout the entire glitch but it's unlikely you will lose enough to incapitate you. And remember, you had to have killed the first and second tank and the rescue vehicle must be there for the horde to continually attack. So good luck and tell me of any problems or suggestions. And sorry for the low quality pictures, it's the best I could do. And credit goes to Knarly Mosh for making this video on what it should be like in the glitch spot. Bruce14
I will most definitely try this because I need both of the genocide achievements. I hope it works
CGPsaint
I gave this a whirl and it worked like a charm. Make sure that once you are up the pole that you stay as close to center as possible and they will just continue to pile up right underneath of you. Using double pistols with unlimited ammo you can shoot them till you get bored. I tried the method where you just kind of leave it alone and I found that somehow the zombies were able to melee me. I only need the new genocide achievement so after one sitting I am just under 1000 kills shy of finishing. Thanks for the idea!
montrossity
no zombies are spawning =EDIT= you have to get to the part where the zombies will spawn forever (dont get into the truck). this works. daninthemix
I tried this but they were able to reach and kill me.
A 2rue boofer
I did mine in solo and got the boomer to stand right in front of the door and it took me 2 hours for the 5,000 kills.

Paraxade
try adjusting your position on the pole maybe. I had some trouble with it at first but now (trying to get as close to the center as possible) none of them can get me at all except very occasionally. In the past hour and a half or so I've gotten ~4000 kills and lost 7 health, without touching the controller at all except to check progress. Should be unlocking it within the next 10 minutes So yeah thanks for the trick, works perfectly.
Evil96
It worked for me, if the zombies are getting to you, you need to make one jump higher, which was tricky. However, i was getting killed by special infected while up there. pulled off by smoker or attached by hunter.
Filter x360a
This was basically how I did it as well. I only needed about 2000 kills when I started doing it and it took be about 30 minutes or so.

ImmortalArbiter
Wow, no rubberbanding required, this is amazing! I can't wait to try it. My only question is, what happens if your wireless controllers go idle in a splitscreen or system link version of versus?
Son of Kyuss
Nothing happens when a controller goes Idle in Versus, they just sit there. I haven't gotten this method to work exactly.
Dinale0504
can;t seem to get high enough that the infected can't hit me, any suggestions?
Phetty
I did manage to figure this out. But I'll stick to just sitting on top of it with my controller rubberbanded since that way doesn't spawn an SI.
androsmere
Somebody post some clearer instructions on this please. The tank that stands underneath you - is it supposed to be the 2nd or 3rd tank? It says the lights are supposed to be right below eye level. Surely he meant right above eye level right? Do you have to restart the generator before you do this? ImmortalArbiter
Got it to work perfectly Get 4000+ kills/hr. Like the others said, if they are able to hit you, you are not up high enough. The last jump is a bit tricky, but just keep trying and you'll get it. You will know when you are high enough. kiwakim
This same strategy can also help you unlock Slippery Pull if you're trying to unlock it by yourself with a second controller on system link. Make sure your main account is the infected and that you are the boomer before you start up the generator. Then once the tank spawns the computer should take over the boomer and he'll vomit on you then he'll proceed to try to attack you from underneath. While he's doing that use your second controller character to kill the tank and the hunter that will spawn after the tank (since you're up high you should be safe, I think I only took a couple of hits). Once the smoker spawns just shoot the boomer underneath you and then pull your second controller character down from the light and the achievement should unlock. I found this strategy a lot easier then attempting it on the ground since I couldn't get the smoker to pull the survivor to it without the infected getting in the way. Morbious17
I don't consider this a glitch as much as taking advantage of the AI pathing, but this is still great advice!
