Rev. H. Heat
Good to see a forum finally for the Alan Wake XBLA Night Springs. So all you Bright Falls denizens what are we thinking about what we have seen so far from the screen capture and short clip? Is Alan digging into his writing past in hopes of getting himself free of the darkness? If that were the case how would writing himself into a fictional piece, such as Night Springs, allow escape? PMD RODNEY
My mind hurts just trying to imagine what path Remedy are going to take with this title. Maybe he has written himself into the Night Springs world in which "Bright Falls" is a television series. I have no idea what this would accomplish lol. Rev. H. Heat
Well when you get hooked up with the Sheriff (I can't remember her name) she mentions that Bright Falls is often compared to Night Springs, so the idea of there being a link between them actually isn't that too far fetched. Where one is sort of the mirror image of the other. Bright Falls is mountainous, wooded, very north west ala Twin Peaks. Night Falls turns out to be (as per the hotel sign in the screenshot) a flat, dry, desert. Where Alan is an affluent up crust writer that runs around in $300 tweed jackets we have Alan in a $20 blue collar flannel holding a roofing nailer. PMD RODNEY
I am trying to get as much out of the teaser screen as possible. I just did a google search on "Desert Shore." This was the name of an album by a German superstar called Nico. I have never even heard of her but she was one of the Warhole superstars and was a massive influence on a lot of contemporary goth bands. There were also weird circumstances surrounding her death. She was on vacation with her son in Ibiza, had a minor heart attack while cycling and hit her head. A taxi driver administered her to hospital where she was wrongly diagnosed with heat exhaustion and died soon after. Could be completely unrelated, but it's something to think about lol. Vectorman953
I don't think this revolves around him getting out of the darkness, since at the end of the DLC (the writer), Alan begins writing something titled "The Return" Night Springs reminds me more of the TV show shown in game, and since Alan was one of the writers... I think this is more of a prequel that features his writing for the show. It would explain the jump of locale. That would mean "The Return" could be the 'real/full' Alan Wake 2. (Hell, 'Alan Wake 2: The Return' sounds awesome)
Cammulder
I'm just wondering how long it'll take a Mod to change the game title for this forum to the proper name... you know, since it's called "American Nightmare" and all, not "Night Springs"
