Iconoclast Envy
I played for 3 hours and would think an auto save would kick in before i hit exit game, am i missing something because none of my characters are in the load slots. Mutalus
I would also like to know where and when i can save the game? Already lost one character because i thought it will auto save, since there was no mention of save or load in the menu.
Le Vampyr
I would also like to know how to save. I made one of each character, and started with a Slayer, quit at about 45 mins in because I had to go out and just hit "exit game" while I was in the village. Just got back in, loaded the game up, and my Slayer is still there, but my lv.1 Gunner & Fighter have vanished, even though I didn't start a game with them. Strange.. mcnichoj
You should see a save icon in the upper-right part of the screen.
Mutalus
I made a new character and left the game in the town and it saved. I guess its safe to leave game in town. I lost my character when i left the game while in a dungeon.
Iconoclast Envy
When you first played DF, did you start the game as a trail then unlocked it during the game? That is what i did, i'm not 100% sure but i think if you play the trial then unlock the full game while playing the trial it erases your character when you exit. just my theory for the time being. That must be it. I was playing on a trial character then unlocked the full game. Character was gone when i left the game. Iconoclast Envy
Ah, So it seems that if you start the game as a trail character is WILL NOT be saved once full game is purchased. That must be it. I was playing on a trial character then unlocked the full game. Character was gone when i exited the game.

MachineAres
Now sending hate mail to the creators. I played as a trial then unlocked and then beat the entire campaign and got my character to level 20 then when I started the game up again, I have no characters. Mutalus
I don't know of any other game on xbla that would have done this before. It even lets you keep the achievements you earned during trial. But deletes the characters Don't know what microsofts policy is regarding this matter. Would be fair of them to at least mention it somewhere. waxc3
Happened to me as well and it seems I lost my 240 Microsoft points I spent on my character as well. I'm contacting them tomorrow in disgust. Can't stand losing 5 hours of a game

VixyNyan
Well from my own experience with other XBLA games in the past, I've learned to just accept it and just start a new game again. There has been times when I did lose progress before, but I just went ahead and re-play the game(s) again, never losing temper. ^^ The game isn't that tough either, and you can gather lots of money to buy lots of potions and food items to breeze through all difficulties fast. :
UnarmedReaper07
Happend to me and lost my 10 "Res Stones". It seems my situation isn't as bad compared to the other people on this thread.
ENVY021
FYI it does this because the trial does not choose a storage device. Once you buy the game, go to options and choose a save device. Your game should then start saving.
