luke391
* Play with any character * Finish with 3 ultra combos (if set to 1 round) * Get 5 first attacks according to ps3trophies.org thats how Edited April 27, 2010 by luke391
optics
I think a Perfect is also required. (# of rounds = # of Perfects)
iBeatStuffUp
Perfect is indeed required, at least for SFIV. You also need to beat Seth without using any continues. If you've messed anything up, you can also press start on a second controller to have it interrupt and have you try again. If you miss doing an ultra combo early on, it could get pretty hairy later. luke391
^ im having zero luck with this so i cant confirm anything... I got 2/3 hypers on the Com and 1 vs myself since i didnt like my odds of beating seth with it... and got nothing Tried last game, had the perfect win, had 2 hypers, i was about to do my 3rd and win as Guile did his right after and he killed me with his =\
DonPantalones
Not only do you have to get at least 1 perfect, and get 3 Ultra finishes, but you have to have already beaten the game with the person you are attempting with, like in Vanilla SF4. I suggest using Zangief and using the old lariat spam. The cpu does not know what to do with that. Plus, you can get your perfect in the first few fights. Space yourself well, and the CPU will walk right into it every time. After you have your perfect, let the cpu hit you to fill the revenge meter, and do the 720 ultra I. I did it first try. Almost exactly like the SF4 attempt. Hope this helps. P.S. The strat guide confirms this. Happy hunting. No continues either.

DonPantalones
Yeah, the 2nd player trick still works as you said. I can't help but laugh as the poor computer tries to cope with the lariat over and over. Focus attack? Didn't work last time. Let's try it again! Smh. ReXXXSoprano
Not only do you have to get at least 1 perfect, and get 3 Ultra finishes, but you have to have already beaten the game with the person you are attempting with, like in Vanilla SF4. Everything is right except that you can do it in your first play of Arcade Mode. And the criteria you listed is if you're playing 1 round battles. They vary from 1 round to a best of 7 format. You only had to do that beat the game already stuff as a condition to unlock Gouken. Since he's playable now it cuts that part out. But that's the way it always was. I hope this clears this matter up. Below is the Vanilla 4 method. Just ignore all the unlocking nonsense and follow the criteria. Street Fighter 4 Akuma and Gouken Unlocking FAQ from Capcom-Unity (managed by S-Kill) There's been a ton of confusion circling about exactly how to unlock Akuma and Gouken (post updated--I failed to paste in the most obvious part for Akuma that everyone already knows--this is tricky yo!) While figuring this out can be a bit of a drag, part of me actually likes it-- it's a lot like the old arcade days when we were first trying to figure out how to get Akuma in SSF2T, or even Reptile in MK ("I heard from this dude that you have to throw the rock on Chun Li's stage at Ryu", etc.) Judging by all the Akuma's I've been battling online, plenty of people are getting there without our help, and lots of credible, well-meaning sites have it partially correct (or have posted overly-difficult methods) but the time for confusion is over, so here are the full details on how to unlock them: To unlock Akuma as a playable character: 1. Unlock Cammy, Fei Long, Dan, Sakura, Rose, and Gen. 2. Pick a character you have already used to beat Arcade Mode. 3. Win all your matches without continuing and without losing any rounds before fighting with Seth. 4. You need to get at least one "perfect" win in a round, and more than one depending on how many rounds per match you are playing. - 1 round match: 1 perfect round or more - 3 round match: 2 perfect rounds or more - 5 round match: 3 perfect rounds or more - 7 round match: 4 perfect rounds or more (including the last battle against Seth) 5. If you meet these conditions, Akuma will appear. Defeat him to unlock Akuma as a selectable character. To unlock Gouken as a playable character: 1. Complete Arcade Mode playing as Akuma and watch (not necessary to watch everything) an ending. 2. Then, unlock Gouken as an opponent, and defeat him. Necessary conditions to unlock Gouken as an opponent: - Play with any characters with which you watched the ending once (so play using a character you have already beaten the game with) - Do not continue at all. - Do not lose at all. Not even one round (easier if you only play 1-round matches) - Achieve certain number (or more) of "Perfect" rounds. The number of Perfect Win you need to achieve are: If you play on - 1 round match: 1 time or more - 3 round match: 2 times or more - 5 round match: 3 times or more - 7 round match: 4 times or more - Achieve a certain number (or more) of Super Combo -OR- Ultra Combo Finishes. Super and Ultra finishes both count toward this number. The number of super/ultra finishes you need to achieve are: - 1 round match: 3 times or more - 3 round match: 5 times or more - 5 round match: 7 times or more - 7 round match: 9 times or more - Achieve certain number (or more) of First Attack (this means you must score the first strike in a match--the screen gives you the "First Attack" message, and you can mostly do this without even noticing). The number of First Attack you need to achieve are: - 1 round match: 5 times or more - 3 round match: 10 times or more - 5 round match: 15 times or more - 7 round match: 20 times or more - Then Gouken will appear. Kick his butt to unlock him!
DonPantalones
The first time I went through the game, I got 3 perfects, at least 7 first attacks and 4 Ultra finishes, and Akuma still only came out. The second time, I nearly replicated my first attempt but only got 2 perfects that time. That was my experience, so excuse me if I was mistaken. Because if it wasn't a clear concise answer given it would've just continued until somebody did. Around these parts redundancy is an issue. So I'm just doing my part to keep it in check. But congrats on the cheevo though. It's not gonna be an easy one for everyone.
HeavensDemise
you have to have already beaten the game with the person you are attempting with, As another has pointed out this is false. I unlocked the "Long Time No See" achievement on my very first arcade run.
TheGlow
You had to have beaten it with a char to actually unlock Gouken. I fought and beat Gouken on vanilla to unlock him after unlocking Akuma, but I didnt beat it with Akuma so I beat gouken, but no unlock. Set it to 1 round. 1 perfect, 3 ultra finishes, 5 first attacks. No continuing. yea, Zangief lariat spam works. Sadly the harder the difficulty, the better. They start to "smartly" use focus attacks. Watch a Fuerte Ex run at you. Ex Run is the only move in the game to give 2 hits of armor, so poor bastid eats 3 lariats in one. i think it instant stuns too. if dizzy, faster to jab em out and lariat some more. For a change of pace just loop 360k's. Can sometimes be safer too once you score the initial knockdown.
iNf3Rn0 Lan
For this game I did: 5 first hits 3 ultra combos No perfects No continues (was close but used the 2nd controller trick; got perfects there...?) I didn't get any perfects while playing if I recall, but did when fighting the 2nd player when I neared losing. Not sure what's up.
TheGlow
I think you need to have met the requirement by the Rival fight. I know once on reg SF4 I got my 3rd ultra or some such on Seth himself and it didnt trigger the fight.
KingSigy
I can absolutely confirm it works on first time through. I've only beaten Arcade once so far and Gouken was my last guy. They definitely made his AI better; too bad Seth is a retarded monkey now.
