Introduction

Revolution is a 2D physics puzzle game that has you precisely placing gears to connect other gears and get them all moving in sync without any jams. There are 75 levels, each offering up three gold medals to earn for completion with minimal gears, moves, and time. Currently the game is listed at $2.99 in the Windows Phone Store.

Step 0: Accumulate 5 other friends that have played this game

There is one "online" achievement related to having 5 friends that have played the game. See the "Social Construct" achievement for help finding other players.

Step 1: Complete all 75 levels earning the gear and move gold medals

Play through the game, starting at the beginning using the linked picture guide. Focus on perfecting the placement to earn the gear usage and move gold medals on each level before moving on. If you are having trouble earning gold, it is occasionally alright to settle for less.

Step 2: Go back and earn the time gold medals

After completing all of the levels, start back at the beginning of the game and use the exploit mentioned in the "Fast Mover" achievement to get the time gold medals. You do not actually need to earn all of the gold medals, just a total of 200 for the "Gold Tycoon" achievement.

Step 3: Mop-up

After completing Steps 1 and 2, there likely wont be any miscellaneous achievements left. However, if there is, quickly complete them on the specific levels outlined in the guide.

Conclusion

Revolution is a fun little game that is relatively easy to complete with a guide. The gold medals are not really an issue because the final achievement is glitched, so you do not have to get ALL of them. If you find some levels/medals particularly challenging to earn, just skip them. Following this guide, you should have no problem completing the game in less than 6 hours.

GUIDE

COMPLETION ACHIEVEMENTS (4 for 55 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 4 achievements cannot be missed and are obtained just by completing the game.

Complete all tutorial levels (1 to 5).

See "Sprocketeer."

Complete level pack one. Levels 1 to 25.

See "Sprocketeer."

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/+EG0-Q==.jpg Cognition - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Complete level pack two. Levels 26 to 50.

See "Sprocketeer."

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/+-9ZPA==.jpg Sprocketeer - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Complete level pack three. Levels 51 to 75.

These achievements will all unlock as you complete all 75 levels of the game. Completing a level only requires that you get all of the gears spinning. Speed and the number of moves do not factor in. If you cant complete the level with the given gold gears, just wait a little bit and the game will ask if you need another gear to complete the level (it will pop up at the bottom of the screen). Feel free to click yes, up to two times, which will give you extra small gears, but will also drop you dont to silver or bronze for that category of medal. However, only do this on very tough occasions where you just cant complete the level with the given number of gears after numerous tries, as doing so will prevent you from reaching the 200 gold medals if done too often.

See "Empty Fort Knox" for a link to a picture guide for each level if you are stuck.

GOLD MEDAL ACHIEVEMENTS (4 for 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 4 achievements are related to earning gold medals in the game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/UPv1GtI=.jpg Empty Fort Knox - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Earn 225 gold medals.

These achievements are all related to earning gold medals in the game. There are three gold medals available for each level, which are awarded for completing three categories of requirements:

  1. Gears: Complete the level with the given amount of gears for the gold medal. After a while of being stumped, the game will ask if you need another gear. If you accept and complete the level, you will earn silver. After a longer while of trouble, it will ask again if you need yet another gear. If you accept and complete the level now, you will earn bronze.
  2. Time: Complete the level within the given time targets for each medal.
  3. Moves: Complete the levels within the given number of moves for each medal. Every time you touch a gear (and move it) counts as a single move, as long as you dont release your finger. To earn gold, you almost always have to be perfect, taking only one attempt to place each gear to complete the level.

The gold medals for each level can be earned separately on different playthroughs of the level (i.e. they do not need to all be earned at simultaneously). You can check which type of medals you have in which categories for all of the levels from the Level Select screen (from the Main Menu, slide right). Be sure to use THIS picture guide for every level as it will speed up your progress greatly (thanks to SwamiMacGyver for creating the guide!).

The gears and move medals should be completed on your first playthrough of the game. The gears gold medals should come easily on almost all levels when using the picture guides. There are a few levels where it is very difficult and requires extreme precision to be able to complete the level with the given gears. In this case, feel free to take the silver medal. Once you are familiar with how to complete the level, restart it and attempt to place each gear in the right spot without a mistake. Most levels require that you only touch each given gear once to get gold. This is the hardest part of the game. However, usually it should only take a few tries and occasionally a bit of luck to get gold. Again, feel free to settle for silver on particularly hard levels.

After you complete the entire game, you can now head back and quickly and easily knock out all of the time gold medals with a handy glitch. See "Fast Mover" for details on this exploit.

*UNOBTAINABLE ACHIEVEMENT WARNING* The "Empty Fort Knox" achievement is actually unobtainable because it is impossible to get the gear gold medal on Level 47. There just is not enough gears given to you in order to complete the level for gold. You must take the extra gear and settle for the silver medal. Therefore, the maximum amount of gold medals available is 224. While this is unfortunate and makes the game impossible to complete, it does mean you can be a little sloppy while playing, not having to earn up to 24 gold medals in order to unlock the "Gold Tycoon" achievement.

MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (12 for 95 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 12 achievements are related to completing miscellaneous cumulative requirements or tasks.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/-OVCvw==.jpg Do-Over - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Reset a level twice.

Simply reset a single level two times in a row by hitting the "Reset" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Note that you must move at least one gear first before being able to reset the level.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/UPnUE2c=.jpg Fast Mover - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Complete the game in under one hour.

This achievement description is a bit misleading. It does not require that you complete the entire game in less than 60 minutes in one sitting. The game actually sums up your best completion times for all 75 levels of the game. That number needs to be less than one hour. Until you complete a level pack, you will be unable to go back and play those levels to improve your times, as your initial time is locked in. For this reason, it is suggested that you complete all 75 levels first and then go back to attempt to earn the time gold medals.

Additionally, there is a glitch that you are most certainly going to want to use that will allow you to complete each level in one second, or at least trick the game into thinking you did. For this step, just start back at the beginning of the game. At the end of each level, when the "Level Complete" screen pops up, hit your screen lock (power) button. Unlock the screen and when the game resumes, it starts the level again, but with all of the gears you already placed, giving you a completion time of one second. This trick can be used to earn the gold for time on every level. During this process, feel free to use the picture guides for the levels (see "Empty Fort Knox" for the link), make as many moves as you need, and take the extra two gears at will. As long as you complete the level, you will be able to use this glitch to get a time of one second.

NOTE: You must complete all 75 levels to be able to unlock this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/UPg06-Q=.jpg Precision - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Complete the game in 400 moves or less.

This achievement description is a bit misleading. It does not require that you complete the entire game in less than 400 moves in one sitting. The game actually sums up your best move total for each level. That number needs to be less than 400. You will naturally unlock this achievement when you are going for the move gold medals on all of the levels. Always go for the gold, but if you have to you can settle for silver or even bronze on occasion. If you get gold on all levels, your move total will be lower than 354, so there is around 50 moves of wiggle room for this one.

NOTE: You must complete all 75 levels to be able to unlock this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/+d5QiQ==.jpg Minimover - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Move 50 gears.

See "Mover and Shaker."

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/+D6oGg==.jpg Long Haul - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Move 250 gears.

See "Mover and Shaker."

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/-ZxD4w==.jpg Mover and Shaker - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Move 1250 gears.

These achievements are all related to moving a certain number of gears and are cumulative across all playthroughs and resets of all levels of the game. Each time you pick up and move or reposition a gear counts towards these. In total, you will need to move 1250 gears. You will most likely surpass this before earning all of the other achievements, so do not worry too much about this. If for some reason you do not, just load up any level and keep moving a gear around (moving it and then dropping it) until the final one unlocks.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/+KdR1Q==.jpg Jammertime - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Jam every gear in a level.

Jamming a gear happens when you have two gears touching another gear trying to spin it in opposing directions. Both of the jamming achievements can be earned at the same time on Level 30. See the photo below for where to specifically place the gears.

Solve a level with a gold gear left over.

This achievement requires that you complete a level with less than the amount of gears you are initially given (known as gold gears). This feat is impossible on most levels, but is actually very easy to do on Level 24..so much so that you would probably do it without trying. See the photo below for where to specifically place the gears.

Cause two gears to fall simultaneously.

See "The Sky is Falling."

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1766/+oZYYA==.jpg The Sky is Falling - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Cause five gears to fall simultaneously.

Just like most physic puzzle games, the objects on-screen are affected by gravity. If you have a gear on screen that is supported vertically by another gear, and you remove that other gear, it will fall. What you want to do is create a set-up in which five gears are being supported by a single gear on the bottom. Then remove that bottom gear to have them all fall together. The first level you are even given enough gears (initially) to make this possible is Level 28. See the photo for where to specifically place the gears.

View your friend leaderboard while it contains at least five friends.

*Requires active online connection* This achievement requires that you have 5 friends on your friends list that have played the game and have uploaded a score to the leaderboard. Find others who have played or are playing the game by checking out the x360a Social Construct Friend Recruiting Thread HERE or the True Achievements boosting thread HERE. Finding 5 folks who are willing to add you (at least temporarily) is not that difficult. Once you have 5, from the Main Menu, swipe over to the Leaderboards. The achievement will pop if you have at least five friends on the list.
