Huge thanks going out to Rajeanero for the banner.

Howdy ladies and gents. Welcome to Star Trek G&RM--TDD style.

Huge thanks going out to FroZeNSouL for giving me his code for the downloadable content as my code never came. To you sir I say thank you many times over.

Just a couple quick points before the G&RM:

  • I would like anyone who plays the game and wishes for the best possible guide to emerge for the X360A community to please contribute to the creation of this guide. Just because I started it does not mean other's should not take pride in the work.
  • This shouldn't discourage other's from trying their own hand at creating a G&RM.

Overview

-Estimated achievement difficulty: 5/10

-Offline: 46 (940:gsicon:)

-Online: 3* (60:gsicon:) *(The three "Away Team" achievements can be done on split screen, but require an actual second person who can do the double bypass/hacks with you).

-Approximate amount of time to 1000:gsicon:: 15-20 hours baring any glitches.

-Minimum number of playthroughs needed:1 (Although 2 would be ideal as the first should be spent hammering away at the mechanics and collectibles of the game while the second should be devoted to rushing through on Hard.

- Number of missable achievements: None because of level select.

- Do cheat codes disable achievements?: No cheats

- Does difficulty affect achievements?: Yes, see "Into the Darkness."

- Glitchy achievements:Yes. Many of the achievements are confirmed both bugged and glitchy. The most notorious will be noted in their individual achievement guides.

- Unobtainable achievements:None

- Extra equipment needed?: Another actual player is required for some achievements and recommended for game play.

Introduction:

Welcome to the Guide & Road Map for Digital Extremes' 2013 3rd person shooter Star Trek. If you're thinking to yourself that you've seen it before, or that this is simply based off of 'the movie' then you are certainly in for a treat this time. The folks over at Digital Extremes took the artistic liberty to take an infamous and yet surprisingly untalked about villain in the Gorn and turn them into the focus of the game.

Tips & Tricks:

  • The game is extremely glitchy affecting many of the weapon kill achievements as well as the revive achievement. Please be forwarned now that you may end up grinding hundreds yes hundreds of kills to make some of them unlock.
  • The game is easiest when done all in co-op. I suggest finding a good reliable partner and playing the game together.
  • If you are lacking XP for upgrades and don't know how/where you should go to get it remember that you can 'farm commendations.' This entails loading up either a mission or a chapter and simply playing through it for the hacks/commendations/bypasses that occur in order to grab more XP to purchase the remainder of the necessary upgrades.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

We will tackle this game in two big playthroughs coupled with a mop up session for anyone who missed some of the goodies along the way. Our first playthrough will be a juggernaut and we will really buckle down and learn the ropes while grabbing a large number of achievements. This will be where the majority of your time is spent. We will then float into a hard "run"through during which we will keep an eye out for some floating achievements but will be focused on completing the game quickly. The mop up session will mostly be for gun kills or any of the other miscellaneous achievements we may have missed. All in all it won't be too bad. Please note though as we go along for the missions within the RoadMap you will be best served by going to each individual achievement in order to get the most information. With that aside--shall we begin?

Playthrough 1: Red Alert! All Hands to Battle Stations!

For this playthrough we will be taking things a bit slower and really absorbing all that this Star Trek universe has to offer while making sure to pick up every collectible we see. Yes--that means this playthrough will be our longest by far, and baring any glitches, should be our most complicated. That's alright though, we will take each mission step-by-step and should be just fine.

It's also best to do this massive playthrough with a co-op partner for a few reasons. First and foremost you have three achievements ("Away Team: Mission Initiated," "Away Team: Mission In-Progress," and "Away Team: Mission Accomplished") that we should get out of the way. Now you could stack this playthrough with your hard runthrough, but I advise against it so you can focus on the vast nature of collectibles in this game and can work through commendations without much effort.

Here are the achievements we should be looking to get during our first playthrough:

  • "Well Done Captain" ---Completing the game.
  • Either "Captain's Phaser Master" or ""Vulcan Repeater Master" depending on either using Kirk or Spock. ---100 kills with each starter weapon.
  • "Weapon Experimenter" ---Secondary fire with each weapon.
  • "Listening In" ---Half of all audio logs.
  • "The Whole Story" ---All audio logs.
  • "Researcher" ---Half of all research items.
  • "Fascinating" ---All research items.
  • "Away Team: Mission Initiated" ---One co-op mission.
  • "Away Team: Mission In-Progress" ---Four co-op missions.
  • "Away Team: Mission Accomplished" ---All co-op missions.
  • Either "Captain's Phaser Tinkerer" or "Vulcan Repeater Tinkerer" depending on if you use Kirk or Spock.
  • "Non-Lethal Master" ---30 non-lethal kills.
  • "Live Long and Prosper" ---20 revives.
  • "All Power to Forward Shields" ---85% shields on the space mission.
  • "Are You Not Entertained?" ---Win the fight on the Trials mission.
  • "Get to the Shuttle!" ---Get to the shuttle in 6 minutes on the Trials mission.
  • "Honorary Commendation" ---Half of all commendations (11 commendations).
  • "Exemplary Commendation" ---All commendations (22 commendations).

What we will do now is go through each mission just commenting on what we have to do and what we need to look for in each mission.

An important aspect to note is that I am only detailing the collectibles associated specifically with each mission. Research able items such as enemies and weapons can be found on most levels. Please refer to JuanOrtizSr's video guides for the most efficient way to grab the collectibles per level.

Prologue:

Prologue has no collectibles or any achievement related additions. Simply play through it like you would anything else.

Mission 2: Helios-1:

So for this first mission we are left mostly to our own devices to learn the mechanics of the game and how to manage in this game. There are thankfully no commendations on this first mission, but there are plenty of collectibles. Once we beat this first mission we will unlock "Beat Helios-1."

Here we are grabbing 3 research items, 3 audio logs, and 1 tribble.

Mission 3: New Vulcan:

New Vulcan is split up into 5 chapters and has 14 research items (not including weapons and enemies), 8 audio logs, 2 commendations, and 1 tribble. Once we beat this mission we will unlock "Beat New Vulcan."

Mission 4: Space Battle:

The space battle mission is a nice change of pace for the game. There are no collectibles or commendations to worry about, although the hardest achievement of the game is unlocked in this mission. Titled "All Power to Forward Shields," this achievement requires you to complete the mission with at least 85% power left in your shields. I definitely suggest reading the walkthrough I wrote as it will give you a second to second breakdown on the waves, the enemies, and how to conquer it all. Once you beat this mission you will unlock "Beat Space Battle."

Mission 5: Frontier Starbase:

Frontier Starbase is a long hard mission that contains 7 chapters, 19 research items (not including weapons and enemies), 7 audio logs, 7 commendations, and tribble number 3. Once you beat this mission you will be awarded with "Beat Frontier Starbase."

Mission 6: Volatile Cargo:

Volatile Cargo is split up into two parts: Volatile Cargo and Flashback. Only Volatile Cargo has anything we need to worry about as Flashback is more of an interactive look into the past (hence the name). Volatile Cargo contains 2 chapters, 2 research items (not including weapons and enemies), 6 audio logs, 1 commendation, and tribble number 4.

Mission 7: Flashback

Mission 7 is simply an interactive flashback and once you complete it, will reward you with "Beat Volatile Cargo & Flashback."

Mission 8: Gorn Planet

Gorn Planet is split into two parts like Volatile Cargo--although unlike Volatile, The Trials has some significant influence in our playing of the game. During the Gorn Planet mission you will have to content with 5 chapters, 16 research items (not including weapons and enemies), 3 audio logs, 4 commendations, and tribble number 5.

If you've gotten every commendation up to this point you should unlock "Honorary Commendation" during this mission.

Mission 9: The Trials

The Trials is the back end of the greater Gorn Planet & The Trials mission. Please note we will be stopping here for a few achievements so be ready to grab a bit. During the fight sequence in which you fight your partner you will be able to grab "Are You Not Entertained?" if you defeat him/her. If you are doing this in co-op as suggested then after one person wins, you have enough time to quickly restart the checkpoint to ensure the other person also grabs it. As you are fleeing from the arena you will be able to grab "Get to the Shuttle!" if you make it to the shuttle in less than 6 minutes. This achievement you will most likely snag naturally as it can take you as little as 2 minutes to make it to the shuttle if you are good with the tricorder shot.

After beating The Trials you will unlock "Beat Gorn Planet & The Trials."

Mission 10: Enterprise Capture

Enterprise Capture contains 5 chapters, 11 research items (not including weapons or enemies), 9 audio logs, 6 commendations, and tribble number 6. When you beat this mission you will unlock "Beat Enterprise Capture."

We should be grabbing "The Whole Story" for getting all audio logs if you've gotten each one up to this point, and grab all 9 throughout this mission.

Mission 11: Mothership

Mothership is the final level in the game and contains 2 chapters, 11 research items (not including weapons and enemies), 0 audio logs, 2 commendations, and the final tribble (tribble #7).

Now that you've made it to the end you should be grabbing quite a few achievements (and big achievements at that) in this final mission if you've collected everything up to this point. If you've collected all along you'll snag "Fascinating" for grabbing all research items, "Away Team: Mission Accomplished" if you've done the entire game with a co-op partner, "Exemplary Commendation" if you've gotten all commendations including the final two in this mission, and "Well Done Captain" for completing the game.

Definitely time for a well deserved break, a minute or two to assess what you have left to get, and your chair ready for the difficulty to get turned up.

Playthrough 2: Kobayashi Maru is Conquered!

Well we've conquered all those pesky commendations and collectibles so may I offer you some Targ milk as we will need to harden up for this hard runthrough. This definitely will not be as bad as it may sound--on the contrary the hard difficulty is laughable at best. Our main objective here is to run through the story line as fast as possible skipping just about everything we can. The following is the copy of the description I created for the "Into Darkness " achievement which is earned when you complete the game on hard.

Here are a few quick tips to help you along your journey:

  • It's best to save the hard playthrough for second this way you will not only have upgraded characters, knowledge of the missions, and knowledge of enemies but will also be able to run through the sequences.
  • If you are not going for weapon kills then stun and punch enemies as it is not only much faster, but much more efficient--just be weary that it will not work on all enemies.
  • Skipping cut scenes on the second playthrough or any parts during which you die/restart will help you save tons of time.
  • Commendations will net you large amounts of exp but will also take much longer to complete. If this is your second playthrough simply run through them.
  • It's unknown whether or not you need to do it all in one playthrough or if you simply need to beat each mission on hard. A hard "run"through should only take about 4-8 hours tops though, so the amount of time to do a whole playthrough isn't too bad.

With that out of the way we can roll smoothly into our final playthrough if needed. Have anything glitch up on you? Here's the place to bang it out and finish the mission ultimately returning home.

Playthrough 3+(For Glitched Achievements): Plot a Course for Completion. . . Engage!

Many people have reported having achievements glitch on them, and I myself have had the revive achievement glitch on me. This portion of the RoadMap is for these types of situations. If you have a specific weapon you need kills in, check the achievement guide, select the mission, and go from there.

If you never had to use this portion of the RoadMap more power to you and congratulations.

Conclusion:

Well we've done it. We've conquered the Koayashi Maru, we've collected hordes of items and logs, we've done ridiciulous secondary objectives all for the love of Star Trek (certainty not for some "problem free" 1000G). The game is severly flawed, rushed beyond belief, and yet has a slight smile of brilliance that quickly gets covered up by the onslaught of rushed development. If you've stuck with me through the RoadMap and planned out your play time accordingly you shouldn't have had too much trouble snagging the completion.

Even those of us who love Trekkies/Trekkers/Star Trek Lovers will find it hard to completely enjoy this game. Congratulations on your next completion. If all is in order we'll contact Scotty and get us to beam him up. Until next time.

Completed the game on hard difficulty setting

This achievement as well as "Well Done Captain" are awarded for completing the game with the former being credited to completing the game on hard. In all honesty there isn't a whole lot of difference between easy and hard although some of the sequences will be a bit more difficult, naturally. It's highly advised that you do as many of the achievements in co-op as possible as the allied AI in the game are extremely weak at best, and during the hard playthrough will cause great frustration.

Here are a few quick tips to help you along your journey:

  • It's best to save the hard playthrough for second this way you will not only have upgraded characters, knowledge of the missions, and knowledge of enemies but will also be able to run through the sequences.

Killed 100 enemies with the Captain's Phaser

The Captain's Phaser is the primary weapon of Kirk, and when coupled with the upgrades to the phaser, is his most deadly weapon. Getting 100 kills with it should easily come within the course of the game, but remember a few things:

  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.
  • Kills are extremely glitched, so you may actually unlock this before 100--but most likely will unlock it after 100.
  • There is no counting system in the game aside from the internal counter, ergo nothing you can check. If you wish to keep a list, you will need to do that on your own accord.

Killed 100 enemies with the Vulcan Repeater

The Vulcan Repeater is the primary weapon of Spock, and when coupled with the upgrades to the repeater, is his most deadly weapon. Getting 100 kills with it should easily come within the course of the game, but remember a few things:

  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.

Killed 50 enemies with the Starfleet Phaser Rifle

The Starfleet Phaser Rifle is the standard issue rifle that all Starfleet based missions (starbase, and enterprise both times) contain in abundance. I am hesistant in quantifying a duration of the game in which you will get this as it all depends on what order you want to do your weapon achievements. What I can say is that the following missions are the only that contain the phaser rifle, and between them, are enough to get your kill limit:

Mission 5 Frontier Starbase

Mission 6 Volatile Cargo

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.
  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.
  • Kills are extremely glitched, so you may actually unlock this before 50--but most likely will unlock it after 50.
  • There is no counting system in the game aside from the internal counter, ergo nothing you can check. If you wish to keep a list, you will need to do that on your own accord.

Killed 50 enemies with the Vulcan Pulse Cannon

The Vulcan Pulse Cannon is the Vulcan weapon of choice in this game. Sadly you are only looking at one mission in which the Vulcan Pulse Cannon appears often, and one in which it appears sparingly; they are as follows:

Mission 3 New Vulcan (Abundantly)

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture (Sparingly)

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.
  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.
  • Kills are extremely glitched, so you may actually unlock this before 50--but most likely will unlock it after 50.
  • There is no counting system in the game aside from the internal counter, ergo nothing you can check. If you wish to keep a list, you will need to do that on your own accord.

Killed 20 enemies with the Starfleet Type III Rifle

The Starfleet Type III Rifle is the Starfleet equivalent of the sniper rifle. Sadly there is only one mission in the entirety of the game during which you are able to obtain, and use the rifle--that is Mission 8 Gorn Planet. With that being said, this one only requires 20 kills, an extremely 'do-able' number even if you are attempting to go for other kill achievements.

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.
  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.
  • Kills are extremely glitched, so you may actually unlock this before 20--but most likely will unlock it after 20.
  • There is no counting system in the game aside from the internal counter, ergo nothing you can check. If you wish to keep a list, you will need to do that on your own accord.

Killed 50 enemies with the Ravager

The Gorn Ravager is the Gorn version of an assault rifle and is carried by the low level Gorn that populate almost every mission throughout the game. Out of the 11 missions, the ravager appears on 6 of the missions--they are as follows:

Mission 3 New Vulcan

Mission 5 Frontier Starbase

Mission 8 Gorn Planet

Mission 9 The Trials

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Mission 11 Mothership

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.
  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.

Killed 50 enemies with the Marauder

The Gorn Marauder is the Gorn version of a shotgun and is carried by the warrior Gorn that populate almost every mission throughout the game. Out of the 11 missions, the marauder appears on 5 of the missions--they are as follows:

Mission 5 Frontier Starbase

Mission 8 Gorn Planet

Mission 9 The Trials

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Mission 11 Mothership

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.
  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.

Killed 50 enemies with the Pillager

The Gorn Pillager is the Gorn version of a machine gun and is carried by some of the biggest fighting Gorn. The pillager is reserved for the latter half of the game and only appears in 3 of the 11 missions--they are as follows:

Mission 8 Gorn Planet

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Mission 11 Mothership

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.

Killed 50 enemies with the Railer

The Gorn Railer is the Gorn version of a semi-automatic rifle and is carried by the tall, skinny Gorn enemies. The railer appears a decent amount through the game as seen in 4 of the 11 missions--they are as follows:

Mission 5 Frontier Starbase

Mission 8 Gorn Planet

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Mission 11 Mothership

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.

Killed 20 enemies with the Striker

The Gorn Striker is the Gorn version of a sniper rifle and is found only on the scout units (a.k.a. the units that are cloaked until you use your tricorder on them). The scouts only appear in 2 of the 11 missions meaning the number of chances for us to get our hands on these snipers is low. The two missions are Mission 8 Gorn Planet and Mission 11 Mothership. On the plus side you only need to get 20 kills with the striker meaning it should be easily achievable with careful planning.

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.
  • Kills that you earn going from one checkpoint to another in which you die before reaching a save point will not count toward your total.

The Gorn Arc Driver is the Gorn version of a link or energy-chain gun and is only carried in 3 of the 11 missions--they are as follows:

Mission 8 Gorn Planet

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Mission 11 Mothership

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.

Killed 20 enemies with Plasma Grenades

The Gorn Plasma Grenades are, simply put, explosion grenades. Almost all Gorn enemies carry them, and typically carry one per Gorn. They can be found on every level that Gorn exist on, totaling up to 6 of the 11 missions--they are as follows:

Mission 3 New Vulcan

Mission 5 Frontier Starbase

Mission 8 Gorn Planet

Mission 9 The Trials

Mission 10 Enterprise Capture

Mission 11 Mothership

Remember these quick tips when going for this weapon achievement:

  • Remember to utilize chapter select to go back and grab weapon achievements you previously either missed or skipped.

Connected every weapon's alternate fire with enemies

Connecting alternate fire with enemies does not necessarily mean delivering the killing blow with the alternate fire. The achievement simply requests that you hit an enemy with the alternate fire every weapon has. Remember, in order to use the alternate fire you need to press (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rb.png) making sure you actually hit the enemy unit. I suggest hitting multiple units multiple times before switching to another weapon.

Here is your list of weapons that add up to this achievement and where they can be found:

  • Captain's Phaser: Kirk starts with this weapon.
  • Vulcan Repeater: Spock starts with this weapon.
  • Vulcan Pulse Cannon: The Vulcan Pulse Cannon is the equivalent of an assault rifle. Your best bet for finding this weapon is in the Vulcan Planet mission.
  • Starfleet Phaser Rifle: The Phaser Rifle can be found in any of the Star Fleet Missions. This includes missions on the Enterprise, and on the Star Base.
  • Starfleet Type III Rifle: This weapon is only found on the Gorn Planet mission. Both Spock and Kirk start with it as their secondary weapon.
  • Gorn Ravager: This is the most common Gorn weapon and can be found in just about every level that contains Gorn. If in doubt, the Mothership mission contains every Gorn weapon.
  • Gorn Marauder: This is the Gorn version of a shotgun. It appears often in the Frontier Starbase mission and is only carried by the Gorn enforcer. If in doubt, the Mission 11 Mothership mission contains every Gorn weapon.
  • Gorn Railer: This is the Gorn version of a single shot rifle. If in doubt, the Mission 11 Mothership mission contains every Gorn weapon although it can also be found in abundance in Mission 10 Enterprise Capture as well.
  • Gorn Striker: This is the Gorn version of a sniper rifle and is only carried by Gorn scouts. Your best bet for finding this weapon in abundance is in the Gorn Planet mission. If in doubt, the Mission 11 Mothership mission contains every Gorn weapon.
  • Gorn Pillager: This is the Gorn version of a machine gun. There are plenty of pillagers on Mission 8 Gorn Planet, Mission 10 Enterprise Captured, and if in doubt, Mission 11 Mothership mission contains every Gorn weapon.
  • Gorn Arc Driver: This is the Gorn version of a link or chain gun. There are plenty of arc drivers on the Enterprise Captured mission. If in doubt, the Mission 11 Mothership mission contains every Gorn weapon.

Simply connect the alternate fire of every gun with an enemy and the achievement will be your's.

Completed all chapters in co-operative play

These three achievements can only be completed by playing through the campaign with someone else whether it is split screen, system link, or over Live. There are a total of 11 chapters to complete in order to unlock all three phases of this achievement type. I do suggest pairing up the completion/mission achievements along with these co-op ones to help complete the game.

Important Note: If you are going for the hard difficulty achievement in co-op be sure that both you and your partner have your difficulties on hard, otherwise the game will default to the lowest difficulty.

It's unknown whether or not you need to do it all in one playthrough or if you simply need to beat each mission on hard. A hard "run"through should only take about 4 hours tops though, so the amount of time to do a whole playthrough isn't too bad.

Cleared 30 mini-games including co-operative hacks, bypasses, and power reroutes

Although this will not come naturally through one playthrough, this will come naturally if you do a second to pick up the hard difficulty achievement. Essentially what this achievement is marked by is bypasses, hacks, and power reroutes as the description states. This means any time you need to do something with your partner, it will count toward this achievement.

This can also be "boosted" at any chapter in any mission so long as you get to a save point or finish the particular chapter/mission before quitting and restarting.

One big tip I can give for those who don't like to play with other actual players is for the hacking/bypassing in which you need to match up the wavelengths between two consoles. Always go for the right console which is the http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rs.png as it is much easier to keep that centered than it is to keep your http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/ls.png matched up, as well as the fact that the AI complete the mini-game in a matter of seconds every time.

1ICLiGJhbC8VDxtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzVhAAAAAOfn5-uu-i4=.jpgNon-Lethal Master 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Took down 30 enemies in a non-lethal manner

Non-lethal take downs are any kill in which you use the http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png to get the kill. Most commonly they are paired up with a stun by your phaser follower by the take down.

Note that they DO NOT need to be silent take downs, as any form of mele will count toward the completion of this achievement. Also keep in mind that if you die before a checkpoint you will revert to the previous number of take downs you had not including any you may have gotten between the two checkpoints.

1oCLiGJhbC8WDxtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzViAAAAAOfn5-mP95s=.jpgDagger of the Mind 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Performed Mind Meld on 10 different enemies

Mind Meld is an ability unique to Spock only. In order to get the mind meld on 10 different enemies you will need to ensure that you 1) do not die between when you got a mind meld(s) and the next checkpoint and 2) that you complete the mission/chapter before either quitting out of turning off your Xbox.

Now in order to actually do a mind meld you will first need to find an enemy with two heads above their body in what appears to be a thought bubble and then will need to take out that enemy in a non-lethal manner (remember this entails tapping http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png). Once they are defeated you will get the option to mind meld, and doing so will result in you being credited 1 mind meld toward your 10.

The best place to grab this achievement as you most likely not get it naturally through a playthrough, is in Mission 3 New Vulcan > Vulcan Planet chapter. You will start on the planet and will go through the laboratories encountering 2-3 enemies you can mind meld. Simply run through the rest of the mission and then replaying the chapter over.

You could also play Mission 12 Mothership > Final Confrontation Chapter which may be a bit shorter and has 2 mind meld enemies.

14CLiGJhbC8XDxtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzVjAAAAAOfn5-hvDwg=.jpg Live Long and Prosper 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Revived your teammate (AI or co-op player) 20 times

This will definitely be easier in co-op over an AI ally. While it definitely can be boosted, be aware that it is badly glitched and may not unlock after 20 revives. What I've suggested a few times is to boost the 20 revives (that means getting the 20 revives in a row in one chapter) and then periodically trying to revive your partner either in the rest of your playthrough or in a new chapter of a new playthrough. For some reason the game does not track well when you are doing all of something (I.E. kills, revives, hacks) at one time.

Remember--in order to heal your teammate you need to go over to them press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png and then complete the little mini-game. You do not need to heal them all the way for this to count toward your total.

A little follow-up, many people I have played with that have unlocked the achievement during our playthrough have said it unlocked at just about 20, although they did that throughout different playthroughs. This may be a hint that if you do them all at one time it may not register as well.

0oCLiGJhbC8QDxtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzVkAAAAAOfn5-3N5PE=.jpgAll Power to Forward Shields 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Completed the Space Battle with a hull integrity of 85% or more

Couple of quick tips before the walkthrough:

  • It may seem simple, but do this on easy difficulty. This achievement is plenty difficult simply on easy difficulty and will only contribute to lack of desire to finish it if you play it on medium or hard.
  • It is best to do this achievement via co-op as you not only get double the firepower, but you get to split your view in a couple key areas.
  • The little fighters slow down when they are firing upon the Enterprise, use this to your advantage to put up the shields and wait for the perfect moment to strike.
  • Tactical mode is not infinite and requires a bit of time to recharge. This means it should only be used sparingly.

With that aside let's begin:

  1. First wave of fighters will come directly at you from the bottom left of the other ship. During the little countdown aim your crosshairs down in that area to snag them quickly and without taking any damage. Both you and your partner should be focused on this.
  2. Wave two of fighters comes from the top left ship and before they get adjacent to the Enterprise they cut back and go in front of the ship. Your best bet at neutralizing them is when they are directly in front of you although hitting them sooner will result in less shield damage. Again both you and your partner can be lined up for these ships.
  3. Wave 3 is the first big ship. This is the 'tutorial' so to speak on the using the tactical mode (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png). Once that big ship is neutralized there will be another that appears. I advise having only one person be tactical leader. This avoids confusion and possible miss-clicks.
  4. Wave 4 is quite a busy wave and will definitely benefit from two sets of eyes. We have 2 enemy fighters appearing off of the left side of the battle, and they will wrap around the back side of the ship doing tremendous damage if they are not taken care of. We have another big ship coming around the right moving to the front of the Enterprise, this guy you will want to torpedo (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rb.png) because the tactical is not back, and we want to save it. We also have a new problem unique to this wave. Shield piercing missiles are coming at us from far beyond the main ship. If you can take care of those two fighters quickly and get a good lock on the big ship for the torpedoes than these missiles should not be a problem. Best way to go about this is to have one person take care of the fighters to the left and the other lock onto the big ship with the torpedo and then more onto the piercers. The faster you kill this wave the more time you'll have for 4.5.
  5. Wave 4.5 starts about 5-7 seconds into wave 4 and brings with it 4 more shield piercing missiles, another big ship and 2 more fighters. The big ship will come from the left moving in front of the Enterprise, the fighters will wrap right coming behind and the shield piercers will come from the same location as the ones in Wave 4. Remember to torpedo the big ship. Together you should split this wave up as you did last time. The left person should take care of the big ship and then more to the piercers that will be down the middle-right and the person taking care of the right side should focus on those two fighters.
  6. Important note about these two waves: As soon as you get your tactical fire back be sure to use it. Make sure you and your partner split the screen and take care of the enemies on your side grabbing as many as you can with the tactical fire.
  7. Wave 4.75 starts about 10-14 seconds into wave 4 and brings with it 1 more big ship and 4 more shield piercers. Everything appears from the left of the main ship and works their way down the left side of the battle map. Both partners should focus on the ship and piercers this wave with the person on the left being in command of the torpedo.

Quick break and a little summary of what we should be looking like.

We should have at least 89% shields. IF you have any less this is what you can expect: 1) Shields will go below 85% with one shot from a big ship, one shield piercer, or two shots from fighters. 2) You will need to be 100% on killing every enemy otherwise you risk getting hit and going below 85%.

Be ready to coordinate flipping shields on and off quickly to make up for the sheer number of things going on.

Only use the tactical mode once in this second half and it's when the final wave appears (we will cover that shortly).

  1. Waves 1-3 are simply suicide Gorn ships that will do significant damage to your ship if you do not raise them in time. The key is to look at your mini-map in the bottom-middle of the screen and to press (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lb.png) right before they hit. I would have the shields up for no longer than 1-2 seconds before the suicide ships hit as to not drain the shields. I also suggest having one person designated shield controller.
  2. Wave 4 is a bit hectic. You will have one last kamikaze ship coming in, 5-6 shield piercers, and one big ship. The key here is to hit the big ship with the torpedo, throw the shields up right before the kamikaze ship arrives, and do long range sniping of the shield piercers. Everything is coming from the right of the battle map so allow the person who normally does the right to torpedo the big ship, while the person who does the left control the shields to stop the kamikaze.
  3. The final wave is absolute madness. As soon as you defeat the last enemy from wave 4 a large ship will spawn almost directly in front of you (off to the left), 5 piercers will be in relatively close range coming from the left of the big ship and 4 fighters (2 on each side) will wreak havoc on you. This is where we employ our second tactical mode.

-As soon as you kill off the last enemy in wave 4 and you see the mini-map fill with red go tactical mode. You and your co-op partner need to essentially get every single enemy (with the slight exception to some piercer missiles) in this mode in order to keep the shields above 85%.

-Have one person be designated left, the other designated right and pick off the enemies as quickly as possible.

-If you miss any ships you will be at the mercy of the cut screen during which fighters keep firing.

-Beat the final wave and claim your achievement. It may take a few tries, but stick to your guns and keep those shields up.

Here's a video representation of beating it with some tips/tricks/and hints for getting this achievement:

Won the brawl against your buddy in "The Trials" chapter

This will of course be easier if done with a co-op partner who can throw the match for you to win. If you are doing it in co-op there is enough time after the achievement pops for the first person to turn around and restart the chapter so the second person can also unlock it.

After the brawl, escaped in less than 6 minutes in "The Trials" chapter

This really isn't hard. After you get control of your character make sure to kill the little bugs' nests (there are 3) and then get to the waterfront. Keep the rushing enemies at bay from behind the rocks until you can start to call in the air strikes of which you will need to call in 2 before the mission ends. 6 minutes is a long time and you should get this unless you are farming kill achievements here.

Killed or took down an enemy that your teammate (AI or co-op player) has stunned

This is easiest when done in Co-op during which you can cordinate the effort between both players to have one stun and the other get the kill. It will come naturally throughout playthrough if you do not sit down and designate a time and place to do it.

Remember with the phaser you will need to use the alternate fire (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rb.png) in order to stun. The person getting the kill will need to use any mode of lethal fire typically equated to (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rt.png) although some have lethal secondary modes as well.

Hacked an enemy drone to your side and have it kill another enemy

Another example of those self-explanatory achievements based on the achievement's description. For this you need to first hack, then allow the hacked drone to kill an enemy.

In order to hack a drone you will need to use either your phaser or vulcan repeater and use the stun attack (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rb.png) to knock it down. Once it's down quickly switch to your tricorder and hack it by holding (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/x.png). Once it's on your side simply allow the drone to kill an enemy and the achievement will unlock.

Be weary though as this achievement has been confirmed glitchy by numerous members so it may take some time. Just be sure to allow the drone to do the killing of enemies.

1YCLiGJhbC9ADBtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzY0AAAAAOfn5-p1dAM=.jpgI'll Cover You! 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Ordered your teammate (AI or co-op player) and had him complete 5 bypasses in a row

This achievement should come rather naturally through gameplay so long as you know of its existence. What I suggest doing is simply playing through the game normally and ordering your teammate to do every button that needs to be done, even the doubles, by simply ordering them to one side or the other. This should unlock after your 5th bypass in a row.

Remember you order a teammate to interact/complete bypasses by pulling out your tricorder (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lb.png) and then moving your crosshairs over the desired button and pressing/holding (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/y.png). You will know it worked when you either A) see your teammate going to do the button or A2) When the arrow appears over the button and signifying the order resulting in your teammate going to do it. Simply do this five times in a row, or in my case as it was slightly glitched, until the achievement unlocks. Again I suggest ordering your teammate to do all buttons, even those that are not specifically bypasses just to be safe.

Killed 3 enemies while your teammate (AI or co-op player) was in a downed state

In order for this achievement to unlock you will need to kill 3 enemies while your ally is in the downed state before their either bleed out, self-revive, or you revive them. The achievement itself is not that difficult as there are many areas where multiple enemies are grouped together giving you a good shot at allowing your ally to go down and then come in to get the kills.

A good spot to "boost" this achievement would be in Mission 3 New Vulcan > Chapter 5 when you go outside to catch the Gorn Lieutenant with the core. The first sequence where the Gorn land there will be 4 enemies that can be dispatched until the sequence forces a cutscene and you must move on.

1oCLiGJhbC9CDBtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzY2AAAAAOfn5-m0hSU=.jpgDown But Not Out 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Killed 3 enemies while in a single downed state

In order for this achievement to unlock you will need to kill 3 enemies will in the downed state before either bleeding out, self-reviving, or having your ally revive you. The achievement itself is not that difficult as there are many areas where multiple enemies are grouped together giving you a good shot at going down and subsequently killing them all.

As Kirk, had a Gorn enemy melee you

Just as the achievement description states, be in control of Kirk and allow a Gorn to melee you in order to unlock this achievement. This should come with natural progression of the game.

1ICLiGJhbC9MDBtVGwxTWTViL2FjaC8wLzY4AAAAAOfn5-tzabg=.jpgI Shall Always Be Your Friend 10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

As Spock, bled out during a downed state, leaving Kirk alone and failing the mission

The achievement is relatively self-explanatory, but be forewarned that it is also quite glitchy and will not unlock every time you do this sequence. My co-op partner and I did it on four different missions until it finally unlocked for us, so be patient and enjoy the little dialog to accompany Spock's death.

You simply need to be controlling Spock, go down, and bled out causing the mission to fail.

10 posts and 5 reserve ones? Man, I think that´s too much.

Whatever, I´m very happy someone will do a guide for not so popular game like this. :)))

I reserved 8 for the latest walking dead game and needed 12 haha. Just want to be safe plus we'll have them deleted if they aren't needed.

From my last reserve which I needed:

If I need any more I will request them.

Please contribute anything/everything ya'll find about this game so we can compile the best guide out there!

Here's to you.

Here's my only tip so far:

They don't tell you that to get a collectable you have to scan it with your Tricorder (HOLD :lbbut:, hover over yellow objects and then press :xbut:). This resulted in me missing the first 4 collectables, so I will play it on easy with a guide after I beat it on hard. Having to hold :lbbut: slows you down and takes away weapon use. So scan every room after you clear it and check everywhere. Also a wise choice is to buy the upgrade that extends the range on your Tricorder, then you can see and lock onto items from much further away. I think the upgrade is something like 1200 or 1400 exp.

Also all "Audio Logs" so far are flipped open flip phone lookalikes. Once you have done the above button commands the "phone" closes and can't be activated again. So these are all pretty easy to see and catch if you look around rooms. I blantently missed one early on because I didn't use my Tricorder, I waited for a prompt to pick it up rather than use the Tricorder.

EDIT: Just an fyi, Hard difficulty is still very easy. This is not a complex game what so ever. But the Space Battle mission had me down to 17% health left, so for that achievement enemies may do less damage on easy to your hull. This may only require one playthrough as well, since as Kirk I have the option to mind meld using Spock.. but I can't Vulcan nerve pinch so that will require at least another chapter played.

Working through it right now with Soul. We've run into many obstacles and are having particular trouble with some of these "stealth" objectives.

I'll be updating as we take breaks and in the coming days as we begin to learn a bit more about the mechanics of the game, will be able to come back with a more definitive way to tackle it.

2 questions, is there a chapter select and does the game need an online pass.

cheers.

There is a chapter select that you have access to from the beginning (but the chapter must first be cleared) and there is no online pass...

The only online component is co-op so an online pass would be kinda dumb, oh wait Army of Two just did that (which is why I didn't play it ... LOL)

For the stealth missions you can stun enemies with your phaser, just be sure they are out of sight of others. (I would recommend upgrading it to the knockout shot for this) do not hack the drones (the flying ones) and when you hack a turret shut it down immediately.

I have been running solo, and Spock walking in front of turrets and sentries has been my biggest issue.

if you do "fail" simply return to the previous checkpoint. there is no penalty for doing so.

Hope this helps.

I've almost completed the game in co-op with the help of Soul. The game is definitely glitchy and buggy up the wazzoo and all of the commendations definitely make it a much more difficult ride.

What are commendations like? Instantly thought of Halo 4's commendations. Things like 'Get x kills with a phaser'?

Most of them are either "Complete the objectives without alerting any enemies" or "Complete the objectives with no direct lethal kills on the infected crew."

Those are the most prominent throughout the game although there are a few others.

Huge thing Soul and I have found out is that kills/revives are character tied. You switch characters it goes back to 0.
