Veedrock
Credit to Xx Overkill VR for the introduction and estimated difficulty/time to completion. Overview: -Estimated achievement difficulty: 6/10 -Offline: 50 (1000:gsicon:) -Online: 0 -Approximate amount of time to 1000: 25-35 hours -Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 2 -Missable achievements: No -Do cheat codes disable achievements?: None -Does difficulty affect achievements?: Yes (Normal or Hard unlock New Game+) -Glitched achievements: None -Unobtainable achievements: None Introduction: The sequel to the 2009 GoTY, Batman Arkham Asylum. Unlike its predecessor, Arkham City allows Batman to roam free in his environment. The open world experience compliments the gameplay by giving one the freedom necessary to reign terror on the villains and thugs that are encountered throughout the game. There are many villains taking up the star roles however there are even more in the side quests which will take up most of your time, especially the Riddler Trophies/Riddles. Step 1: Story Mode (16 achievements for 290:gsicon:) Play through Story mode on Normal or Hard mode. As you play you'll encounter many side stories and collectibles; you can tackle them now or save them for postgame, as you can continue playing after you complete the story. Step 2: New Game+ (1 achievement for 75:gsicon:) Play through New Game+, which is identical to Story Mode except for an increased difficulty and you begin with all gadgets. This is a great chance to get some of the Riddler trophies in the early areas that require later gadgets. You'll have to do all the side missions in this mode as well, so you can tackle them along the way or save them for the next step. Step 3: Story Mode mop-up (19 achievements 370:gsicon:) Now you'll need to complete Story mode to 100%. This will require you to do all of Batman's side missions in both Story Mode and New Game+, as well as collect all the Riddler trophies (these are shared between playthroughs). Catwoman has a single postgame mission, but you only need to complete it on one of the modes. She also has her own set of Riddler trophies that you will need to collect. You can check your progress from the main menu. Step 4: Challenges and Campaigns (8 achievements 160:gsicon:) Last but certainly not least you'll need to complete the game's Challenges and Campaigns twice, once with Batman and once with Catwoman. Challenges are the same as those found in Arkham Asylum, with a mix of score-based Combat Challenges to test your combat proficiency and objective-based Predator Challenges to test your stealth and gadget proficiency. These challenges can be brutal, so use video guides to get an idea of how to approach them. Make sure to practice and memorize the tactics because you'll be playing these all several times over. Campaigns are new the series which consist of a gauntlet series of Challenges with added stipulations and limited retries. Stipulations could be beneficial or harmful depending on the campaign, and you can choose which Challenge to apply them to, but they must all be used by the end of the Campaign. Try to plan ahead so you're not stuck with the worst ones on the last challenge unless you know you can work with it. Step 5: Achievement mop-up / Perfect Knight (6 achievements for 105:gsicon:) You should have unlocked Perfect Knight - Day 2 if you followed the above steps; if for some reason it hasn't unlocked you can check your statistics from the main menu. The only achievements you may have left now are the combat related achievements (Flawless Freeflow, Perfect Freeflow, Gadget Attack), Story Teller, and Pay Your Respects, which can all be mopped up relatively easily. Congratulations, you've finished your journey to a very rewarding 1000:gsicon:! Edited December 6, 2013 by Veedrock
