Yeah I can confirm they count towards it.

I was sure I killed an enemy with every weapon but I didn't have the Carrington Institute Specialist, so I played a game of trial and error with some lovely peace sims. Found out I was missing the crossbow which doesn't make sense since you start with it on one of the levels.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm gonna get through as many guns as i can in local multiplayer before i start the single player properly, to make things easier.

Just bear in mind a great deal of the guns will need to be used in single player before they unlock in multiplayer!

Yes the challenges can be with a partner, but you'll have to do it for your partner for both of you to get it. =(

do i have to beat the game solo to get my alien doll?

EDIT: it was the cyclone i was missing. =)

cause i think i have to get the last gun in a special mission. i was going to skip right to getting bronze on a all guns since it sucks playing co-op and you dont get anything unlocked. this game is not made for coop at all. =(

While working on the achievement for playing each of the different Combat Simulator scenarios, I set the weapons to random. It has been said that weapons must be used in the single player campaign in order for them to show up at the firing range, but some of the weapons I chose for the Combat Simulator are now showing up in the firing range. After realizing this, I tried duplicating it with different weapons that I didn't have yet but it didn't work. Don't know what caused this but just wanted to contribute.

For the counter-op and co-op achievements, you have to beat an entire mission in those modes, not just an individual level. You can see how levels are grouped together into missions on the mission select screen (first 3 levels are mission 1, level 4 is mission 2, etc).

Easiest way is probably to beat the Villa level since it is the only one in mission 2.

Crutial info on Paci-Fist!

I got it by doing the special assignment The Duel. All you need is to be really quick swapping from pistol before he hits you. Then Jonathan is easy since he's behind a wall.

I KNOW this works because it's how I got The Paci-Fist achi!

sorry could you clarify that last bit, only one person would get the achievement you mean? the host or something?

Yeah from what others have been saying, it seems only the host gets achievements, challenge scores and stuff.

Seems quite crap, I'm glad I did everything solo first.

You may want to include in your description for the challenge achievement that only the host gets credit for completing the challenges if you choose to do them multiplayer... it was quite a nasty surprise for my friends and I.

wow that's a bitch

incidentally though do we know whether it awards the host the single player medal or the 2player one for doing it?

Two player medal. Did co-op with my buddy. He got nothing, and I got co-op medals. I hope this is just a glitch. That ruined the game for him.

Challenge 29 is damn near impossible. I tried the Dragon method, but DarkSims just cheat waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Wonder if a co-op token will count for the achievement...
