Arsenic 17
Gun Bros ROADMAP Overview -Estimated achievement difficulty: 3/10 -Estimated time for 200http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png: 25+ hours -Minimum playthroughs: 1 -Offline: 18/20 (190http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) -Online: 2/20 (10http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) -Missable Achievements: 0 (level select) -Unobtainable Achievements: 0 -Does difficulty affect achievements: No difficulty option -Cheats disable achievements: No cheats -Glitchy achievements: 1 (Buffed Up!...see description) -Extra equipment needed: Windows Phone 7 or 8 *NOTE: As more and more days pass since the game's release, new glitches are being uncovered. They range from annoying to game breaking. Many of them could drastically lengthen your path towards the 200 or possibly even make it unattainable. A full list of glitches can be found in THIS thread. The worst of them all? Your entire progress through the game being lost. Considering the shear number of glitches and the amount of people reporting them, it may be best to wait for a patch before attempting this game. Glu's other freemium title, Bug Village, was similarly glitched at launch, but was patched shortly after its release. Gun Bros will likely see the same treatment. Introduction Gun Bros is a twin-stick, top-down, freemium shooter from Glu Mobile. You are part of a brotherhood tasked with defending the universe from an evil force. The game itself it free and you only need to spend your real-world cash if you want to skip some grinding and pace faster through the game. This is an entirely single-player experience. However, because of the way the game is set-up, it feels like much more than that. You can recruit your friends characters to fight at your side and even complete challenges with your friends. You also earn extra bonuses when your friends play with your character in their game. This guide is based on the premise that you do not spend any money at all on the game. If you break down and pay the outrageous prices for war bucks, you could possibly complete this a little faster. The game is currently listed as FREE on the Marketplace. Step 1: Hook yourself up with 10 bros In short, adding folks to your friends list who also have this game will make completing this game faster because you are granted several bonuses, called Bro Buffs, which boost your stats, as well as the coins and experience your earn. Your first step should be searching for and adding other people to your friends list who have this game. See "Buffed-Up" for a link to a thread. Step 2: Complete all 10 Revolutions on a single planet You should begin by choosing a planet and begin completing the Revolutions. Completing the 10th Revolution on a single planet involves beating 500 waves of enemies and will earn you the Omega achievement. You will most likely be able to attain all other achievements, except Legend, alongside completing the Revolutions. Step 3: Grind to Level 100 for the "Legend" Achievement Depending on your play style, you will likely have to grind some levels after completing 10 Revolutions. The good news is, however, that there are some good places to quickly rack up some XP. See Legend description. Conclusion All in all, Gun Bros is a well-designed freemium game. Unfortunately, once the initial buzz from the great design and gameplay mechanics wears off, it becomes nothing more than a long, long grind to get the full 200 gamerscore. While it is enticing to purchase in-game currency with real-world cash to reduce the grind-time, the costs by most will be considered just too high. 135 gamerscore can likely be obtained in a modest 10 hours or so (not getting Omega, Annihilator, or Legend). If you are looking for the full 200, expect to put significant amounts of time into this game. GUIDE BRO (ONLINE) ACHIEVEMENTS (2 for 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 2 achievements require an active internet connection and/or at least one friend with the game. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP+oDqI=.jpg Buffed Up! - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Get a Bro Buff Bro Buffs are just the boosts you get from having "bros," or friends, that play the game. The more bros you have, the better the boosts you get. It is advised that you acquire the allowed maximum of 10 bros in order to decrease the overall completion time, as almost every aspect of the game is boosted when you have bros. See this forum if you need more bros. **GLITCH** Some folks are having trouble getting their friends with the game to actually show-up as bros, making this achievement unattainable. The problem seems to be specific to certain countries (Norway, Nederlands...), but may be a small issue everywhere. It could possible be related to individual phone models, but that does seem unlikely as it has been reported on the Titan and Lumia 800. The Bro-Up achievement is still obtainable however. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP2JBxc=.jpg Bro-Up! - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete a Bro-Op Challenge! Bro-Ops Challenges change daily and can be found under the "Bro-Up" tab from the main menu. There are four each day, and the top ones tend to be much easier than the bottom ones (and hence offer much lamer rewards). To unlock the achievement, all you have to do is complete the task unlocking the first reward. If your Bros also complete the challenge, you can unlock more rewards. KILL ACHIEVEMENTS (8 for 70 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 8 achievements are directly related to killing enemies. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/-XCfDw==.jpg Ravager - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 5,000 targets See "Annihilator." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/-JBnnA==.jpg Destroyer - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 20,000 targets See "Annihilator." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/-784MA==.jpg Annihilator - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 50,000 targets These three achievements just require you to get a certain amount of kills. All types of enemies and all planets count, even if you fail a wave. These will come with natural progression towards reaching Level 100. However, if you want to get this out of the way and "boost" it, playing Survival on the third world Bokor is your best bet. Use the Corona Ejector in the Bokor camping spot found in this video. Your kills per minute will range from 500-1000. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGeoO1tu7M]THIS[/ame] http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP5AvZM=.jpg Pistoleer - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 1000 targets with pistols See "Spreader." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP+gRQA=.jpg Rifleman - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 1000 targets with rifles See "Spreader." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP2BTLU=.jpg Shotgunner - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 1000 targets with shotguns See "Spreader." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UPxhtCY=.jpg Spreader - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Service 1000 targets with spread guns These achievements are require killing 1,000 enemies of any type in any mode with the specified type of gun. There are four main types of guns in the game: pistols, rifles, shotguns, and spread guns. There is one achievement for each. You can see a weapons type before you purchase it in the bottom left of the weapons box in the store. These can be obtained in normal progression, but I myself really only like to use spread guns/Corona Ejector. In this case, they can easily be boosted against the zombies on Bokor in Survival. Use the camping spot mentioned in the "Annihilator" achievement. Edited October 19, 2012 by Arsenic
Arsenic 17
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP6mWLs=.jpg Streaker - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Destroy 30 Zombies in a single streak This achievement can only be earned on the planet Bokor against the zombie horde. You need to get your streak up to 30 kills. Your streak stays active as long as you do not take any damage. Getting 30 is ridiculously easy and you will definitely get this without even trying. The counter for your streak is the large number displayed in the top right corner of the screen in red. WAVE COMPLETION ACHIEVEMENTS (3 for 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 3 achievements are related to finishing waves. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/+DzafA==.jpg Alpha - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete Revolution 1 on any planet See "Omega." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/+h3TyQ==.jpg Omega - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Complete Revolution 10 on any planet To unlock these achievements, you must complete all then Revolutions on one planet. A Revolution consists of 50 waves of enemies, meaning in total you must complete 500 waves of enemies to unlock Omega (50x10). Each Revolution's enemies are stronger than the last's. Just keep leveling your character and buying better guns and armor. It also does help if you can recruit a friend that has a similar level as you or even higher. In that case, you can tear through the levels without dying too much. If you find you have the best guns and armor, you may need to grind a few levels (which increases your overall health) and try again. The ladder Waves of each Revolution do become a bit challenge. When you get surrounded by too many enemies, use a Green Shield power-up (makes you invincible for a short time) to plow through one direction and escape unharmed. The video below shows grind spots for each planet, credit to VV1pcr3am for find this video. These types of spots allow you to control the spawn of the enemies and survive longer. NOTE: Once you complete Wave 49 of Revolution X, you will be booted out of the game and be congratulated for completing the Revolution. However, to actually earn the achievement, you need to go back in and actually complete Wave 50. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze-b493toj0]Gun Bros. To get perfect, you must complete the entire level without taking any damage at all. This will come with time. The first 20 levels of each revolution on each planet are quite easy to get perfect on as there are not that many enemies and they are generally week. If you want to get this out of the way, just replay any waves early in the revolutions on all planets (first 20 or so) until this unlocks. Remember, it must be 100 UNIQUE waves...you cannot keep playing the same wave over and over getting perfect to unlock this. It will only count as one. COIN OR STORE ACHIEVEMENTS (4 for 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 3 achievements are related to earning coins and spending them in the store. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UP9GoCg=.jpg Royalty - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Save 100,000 coin Killing enemies and completing waves earns you Xplodium, which after you die and return to the menu can be placed in refineries and converted to coins. Here is where the time element comes into this game. You can refine your Xplodium instantly but earn less coins, or you can put it in specified refineries that take longer (10min, 30min, 24hrs, 72hrs) to get more coin in the end for your wait. If you have the best armor and weapons in the game already, besides power-ups, there is not much to spend cash on. This should come with natural progression. If you tear through a ton of waves without dying, it would be a good idea to deposit that large amount of Xplodium into the 72-hour refinery as you get a 400% coin (more if you have Bro Buffs) return, but you do have to wait three days. Do not worry about this too much, as by the time you get to Level 100, you will have upwards of 1,000,000 coins or more in the bank. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UPnDX98=.jpg A Gun Rack - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Purchase 8 guns from the store Purchase 8 different guns from the store of any type. The cost of the 8 cheapest guns combined is approximately 7,500 coins. Most of these guns are garbage however. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UPgjp0w=.jpg Fashionista - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Purchase 20 armor pieces from the store. Purchase 20 different pieces of armor from the store. This could be hats/helmets, armor, or pants. The cost of the 20 cheapest armor pieces combined is approximately 10,000 coins. In general helmets are cheapest. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/UPoCrvk=.jpg Power Hour - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Purchase 60 power ups from the store Just purchase 60 total power ups from the store. They do not have to be different kinds. The cheapest power up is the auto-aim power up for 100 coins. 60 of those would cost a total of 6,000 coins. LEVELING ACHIEVEMENTS (3 for 65 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 3 achievements are related to leveling your character up. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/-Z4xhQ==.jpg Veteran - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Reach level 20 See "Legend." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/+dwi7w==.jpg Hero - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Reach level 50 See "Legend." http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2401/-H7JFg==.jpg Legend - 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Reach level 100 These achievements require you to level your character to 20, 50, and 100. Leveling is achieved by XP which is gained from killing enemies. You should also keep as eye out for XP pick-ups which are occasionally dropped by more powerful enemies. These provide boosts to your XP. This will most likely be the last achievement you unlock as all others should be easily attainable on route to this one. The fastest way to boost levels in this game is to play against hordes of Zombies on Bokor, whether you are racing for 100 or just need a little extra boost to beat a Revolution. The video below, found by VV1pCr3am, shows a great spot to camp with the Corona Ejector, at the 3:15 mark of the video. VVh1pCr3am
Just got the full 200 so I'll share some tips. I put in an easy 30 hours probably closer to 40 overall. You definitely want to make sure you have the full 10 friends available to decrease the time it takes to finish this game. I only had 8 but was still able to complete it fast. On to the tips. I'll only be talking about the best things available for free (coins only). Head - Diabolic Helmet Torso - Cyrbro Armor Legs - Plague Pants Spread Weapon - Blood Geyser - Good as your main weapon until you get the Predator. Really good for crowd control. Rifle - Predator - Your main weapon for the first 30-35 (or all 50) waves in a revolution. Heavy - Coronal Ejector - Good for grinding zombie kills, leveling up and earning money very fast. Some strats and camping spots I found on YouTube. I can't vouch for the other spots in the video but I did use the one for Cerberus Prime. You can use the Predator for the first 25 waves or so while only getting hit once or twice along the way even in the later Revolutions. After that you might need to switch to the Blood Geyser once in awhile for crowd control if it gets to hectic. For Cerberus Prime, make sure your Bro is positioned to the right of you so he can take most of the damage for you. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze-b493toj0]Gun Bros. Grind Spot for Each Planet and Legit Auto-Train! - YouTube[/ame] As for Bokor, the strat I used for this one is this video at 3:15. Go up here to camp and use your Coronal Ejector (also works with the Blood Geyser up until about wave 7-8). You can complete every wave after like wave 4 or 5 with 2 blasts. The highest wave I got was around 110 before I got bored and let myself die. I used this for like 2-3 hours for my last 10 levels. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGeoO1tu7M]Gun Bros best camping locations - YouTube[/ame] One last thing to note, at least for me, when I completed wave 49 on Revolution 10, a message popped up saying that you've completed everything in the game then it puts you back in the menu. You need to go back in and manually select wave 50 to complete it and earn the achievement. The same message will pop up again. If you have any questions I can try to answer them for you. VVh1pCr3am
Thanks for the tips! What's so good about Plague Pants though? Just had the best stats. I tried to prioritize the attack spec when selecting armor. So if something had a higher defense than another piece of armor but lower attack, I didn't pick it. Example: Armor 1 - +5 Def, +5 Atk Armor 2 - +8 Def, +2 Atk I would choose armor 1 in that scenario. Edited July 14, 2012 by VVh1pCr3am

VVh1pCr3am
agreed... i actually have the plague pants, cybro armor, and diabolical helmet, but i noticed you had some golden armor with green jet pack style? Did you pay war bucks for it or something? I did, shamefully. I was getting slaughtered in revolution 6 so I ditched the Cybro Armor. I bought the Infinity torso piece. I only bought one piece of the set as the price for war bucks was a little ridiculous and I couldn't justify paying more than I already did. Thanks for the tips. Will incorporate them to the guide with credit given. Also can you shed some light on whether you attain Legend or Omega first? Aka what was you last achievement? Also, what would you rate the difficulty for the 200? You should earn Omega first as it wouldn't make sense to go out of your way to get level 100. It's entirely possible to get level 100 first though if you just focus on grinding or fail a ridiculous amount of times in the revolutions. My last one was Legend. I'm not too good with difficulty ratings but I would say speaking on purely difficulty and not time, I would say the 3 you have is OK or maybe even a 4 but no higher than that. The game is pretty easy itself and having the bro buffs is essential to making it even easier. Edited July 14, 2012 by VVh1pCr3am
Blarghinator
Im getting really close to completing this game, there has only been 4 people i believe, nutriwip was first btw on july 13th and the other 3 finished today.... EDIT: now level 90, ive done everything else except this.... time to grind out 10 more levels... so far from 87 to 90 has taken 121 waves of horde on Bakor, probably be 500 before i even get to 95 EDIT 2: So I am now the 8th person to complete this game and i had all achievements except level 100 by level 90. The last 10 levels took about 3 hours of gameplay on Bakor. I finished with 149,708 total kills and 624,633 coins saved up. Achiever TM
I've finished this game a couple of days ago and it took me less than 20 hours. I had 10 friends to buff me up , added Arsenic 17 to my friends and since he is level 100 I used him most of the time as my bro. It helped me to grind money on Bokor to buy Corona Ejector, after that the game was a breeze. Once I ended Revolution 10 I was at level 82 and took me around 3-4 hours to reach rank 100 on Bokor. 3/10 difficulty seems a good rating IMO! BTW I haven't experienced any glitch in this game except game not connect to LIVE, but that happened only a few times. Thanks for another excellent guide Arsenic. Lil Frier
You want to be careful with this Achievement, for sure. I wanted to try to get a bit of a boost by using different guns (which really helps), but the game was REALLY bad about deleting my purchases if I signed out. That meant having to repurchase a few guns multiple times, which sucked. Really, there were WAY too many bugs with this game.
