Easy method to master ALL corners

I know many of you have trouble mastering all the corners in the game, most notably the last corner on Karussell/Nordschleife. I found a method which allowed to me complete these corners with relative ease as well as EVERY other corner in the game.

Note - I now have every single-player epic badge bar the perfect starts (wasn't aware what it was until I looked having completed the game already). Yes, that includes mastering every corner in the European tracks and the Star Collector epic badge.

The method? Well it's not so much a method, but more a car: Ford Escort RS Casworth. Ignore all the crap about the Audi S4, this car is as easy as it gets. I'm not saying it removes the challenge, I still had a bit of trouble with the Karussell corner and a few others, but because the car drives so slowly, it makes it VERY easy to stay on the line. Do not modify the car AT ALL. Leave it at stock.

Now, for the Karussell corner, do not approach the corner at full speed. Approach it tapping repeatedly on the accelerator so that when you actually hit the corner, there is a slight bit of red line in front of you, but it should disappear almost instantaneously upon letting go of the accelerator, then gently tap the accelerator as you move around the corner - DO NOT GO OFF THE LINE - AT ALL. This is the method I used and I completed the corner on both the Karussell and Nordschleife within 4 attempts. Really, you shouldn't really need to use your brakes with this car using the above method on the Karussell/Nordschleife corner, if you find yourself slamming on the brakes you are hitting the corner too fast and will most likely overshoot. To prove I am not telling BS:

Again, I am not saying this removes all the challenge, so don't come crying to me saying I am talking crap because you still can't pass the corner. This car makes the corner as easy to pass as possible; if you still can't do it within multiple attempts with this car then I am afraid it is your fault and not the game. Yes I know the corner can be VERY difficult, but it is NOT impossible.

Note - for the Star Collector, when you are required to master the corners on certain tracks, including the Nordschleife, just do it in Quick Play mode, pass it, and then go back to the career, start the race and it will automatically pop up, you don't need to master the corner in the career as well.

For those of you that want to know the settings I used:

AI: Hard

Steering Assist: Off

Brake Assist: Off

Anti-Lock Brakes: On

Traction Control: High

Stability Control On

Damage Effects: Visual Only

Gears: Automatic

Hope this helps! :)

Just did it now. After trying about 10 times with the Escort i went ahead and tryed with the S4 and did it on my 3rd try.

I did tune the S4 mind you, tuning was Downforce 100 and Steering Lock 20. I use a control pad

Hope this helps some ppl and GL with it :)

I agree that Ford Escort is a great choice. But I cannot master some corners on the higher gears - Ford Escort is little 'slippy'. I found that Acura NSX* (or Honda NSX* in Japanese) even with all upgrades is perfect. I can easily control this car in the fast corners.

* Available in "Exotic Racing Series" DLC.

I will have to try this out. I have this car and it is pretty upgraded.

these methods are total bollocks! actual found it harder and more frustrating, just mastered all corners at spa and they were all done at full racing speed! you see its simple, the racing lines are designed and set up in such a way that they NEED to be taken at FULL race speed.anyone coming back to do these trust me mastering those corners will come naturally through good hard racing!

EDIT - just to add a works converted dodge viper works a treat on those corners,id never use one in career (too slow) but great for mastering corners.

steering lock-65

gearing-45

balance-55

downforce-60

tweeked for a while but eventually found these settings comfortable

I agree with the user above me in saying that this is utter 'bollocks'. I just can't for a paycheck, master three of the remaining corners in the Nordschleife especially the last one as when I slow down, to avoid going off course, the game counts it as 'too slow' and when I try to drift, I go completely off track, like as of I hit a sheet of wet ice on a windy day, and/or if I maintain adequate speed, the car I'm driving tends to swerve around like a belly dancer, just trying to not to go off track and into the dirt.

There is just no way to stay on the line when going around some of these corners. I either must slow down dramatically to almost the speed of going down the average Chicago alleyway, or if I maintain speed, I'm literally driving in dirt and even actually getting disqualified.

I've done this track like 20 times, and even got 100 miles on a Japanese, European, and American car but even 300+ miles of attempts, could not get me to 'master' these corners. Either it requires a near super-human precision or it is bugged to the point of being impossible. I've actually gotten the blue lettering saying 'Corner mastered 50' when finishing but it would not register on the map. I've concluded that this track is 'glitched' and now with the game being so old now, it is no longer possible to do.

After so many attempts at trying (And getting other badges along the way), and spending hours only to fail each time, I've finally thrown in the towel and am just gonna get my 975G and after a few DLC trophies (To put this game above 1000G. DO NOT TOUCH THE ONLINE BADGES!), I'm moving on.

In terms of getting 100 miles on the cars, Nordschleife is PERFECT and I used this track to get the mileage badges to get the Epic Badges. However, in terms of corner mastering, this just cannot be done. It just can't. I can attest to at least 4 hours through numerous cars trying. It just CANNOT be done.

If anyone else is going for this, I'm just wanting to give y'all a warning that this is pure luck as opposed to razor-sharp skill. You're far better off aiming to get 100 miles on three American, European, and Japanese cars instead.

To bcfskillsinhd, congratulations on your achievement and I commend you for this badge. I've done this track many times including with the car that you mentioned but it still kept crashing, or going way off the line when going around the curve, hence my post on here. I've actually slowed down and have actually managed, on rare occasions, to stay on the raceline (The green/yellow/red line) and never veer off of it, but the corner would not register, even when not even hitting the brakes. I've even done your method of gameplay and tuning but no luck whatsoever.

Need for Speed: Shift is a fantastic game but trying to master the all the corners on Nordeshleife has left an ugly wound on an otherwise great game.

UPDATE: I've gotten two of the three corners I've struggled with, albeit with more sheer luck and now it's down to just getting the last corner down. I'll go through the course a few times in a gaming night but don't see this corner getting mastered anytime soon. This track is giving me a lot of gamer-grief, I'll admit that.

UPDATE: I FINALLY got the last corner mastered! :D I'm so happy and relieved that I've finally gotten all 37 corners mastered.

I used some of your methods as described and used the Ford Escort, and modified the controls to make the corners easier to navigate and remain on the colored line.

The method I used was simply doing a 6-lap race (Yes, it took over an hour to complete) and got the last corner mastered on my second lap and finished Nordeschleife. This is my recommended method, though it will be a bit time-consuming but at least giving it at least three laps may give you a better chance of getting that last corner down (Without being distracted by the finish line).

I can't say my method is any better than the oriignal thread's post but for me, having at least three laps works for me. On shorter courses, 20 laps is the way to go as it offers many chances to get the corners down. :)

Now I can let Nordsche rest in peace. I also think Nordeschleife is excellent for getting the miles on cars for the mileage badges too. :)

Good luck to all trying to get this pain-in-the-ass track mastered. :)
