iBuzz7S
Coming this week. Forza Horizon's 1000 Club car pack will be gracing the Xbox 360 Tuesday, April 16th. What is in it though? It's free so it can't be that much right? Well firstly, the pack will come with two new cars, the Ford F100 1956 and the RUF CTR2 1995. Secondly, the game will be padded out with 1000 new challenges and 10 new achievements. Adding another 250 Gamerscore points to earn you can be sure these 1000 challenges will take a good long while to work though. Never would of expected a free add-on AND achievements for a Forza game. Still on the ropes about it, but this is a good addition for fans who are playing the game or looking for a reason to get back into it. Ninja Eagle
Pretty sure you need to BUY more DLC in order to get the achievements. It's a douche move.
The Pants Party
Yeah the update may be free, but it will cost a fair shake to actually unlock any of the achievements.
tottenham29
Mixed emotions about this at the moment. I'm quite happy about some new content as I really enjoyed the game but its just typical that I randomly decide to get the only achievement I have left for 100% the day before they release dlc with more achievements lol. IEvil IMonkey
Yeah the update may be free, but it will cost a fair shake to actually unlock any of the achievements. Apparently (as mentioned on the front page in the achievements list section) the only car pack you would need is from November as this and the core cars would see you covered for the challenges. The November car pack is 400msp This is if you don't get awarded cars you will need for passing a certain amount of challenges... If not then I can see myself paying 400msp for that car pack as the DLC is free and not 1600msp like the Rally Pack
Barad
I just want the car packs to go on sale so I can increase my garage and actually unlock these achievements.
SatNiteEduardo
I am extremely disappointed at how many people on this site are slagging off Turn 10 / PG etc. It is not the case that the season pass is needed nor will it cost lots of money to get these achievements. These cars are needed if all you have is the disc plus this dlc: 1 Lamborghini 1 Nissan 1 BMW 2 Shelbys And they all happen to be in November dlc. And the 146 car achievement is covered: 127 on disc to buy 9 Barn Finds 3 free hondas 6 monthly sample cars 6 from November dlc (bought due to what I say above) 2 with this dlc plus up to 7 unicorns Way more than 146 So in summary the most it should cost people is 400 ms points if they do not currently have the November dlc (or others) and free for anyone who has. Compare that to any other dlc. Edit: in case anyone doubts my analysis go here http://www.manteomax.com/ Edited April 15, 2013 by SatNiteEduardo
R3f1cul
thanks for the heads up on the only needing the november pack i was thinking that there was only like 1 shelby on that game and all the other info was pretty legit too big ups to you sir, but are you sure there are enough fords... seems like they are a bit short on that even with the november dlc i skimmed through maybe im missing something but i dunno Edited April 15, 2013 by R3f1cul
Stiminal
Pick up the sample cars that are free on the marketplace. If you have bought the rally pack, you only need the Bondurant pack from November. If you haven't, you will be one Ford short and will have to buy another DLC. In the list below is the cars needed for anyone with the rallypack. For those without, you'll have to find replacement for the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Ferrari 250 California, Ferrari 250 GTO, Maserati MC12 Versione Corse and Pagani Zonda R is not listed, as they are not needed and would increase the expenses. Fill up the garage with random cheap cars until you got a total of 146. o D M C o
Stiminal thats a great post thanks so much, be sure to put it on the dlc thread if one gets made because it'll probably get buried here. I just followed it to the letter and I was short on cash for some of the Ferraris. Im hoping I can sell cars once I get a medal with them so I can then use the money to buy the cars Ive not yet used, hopefully you wont need to have 14 Ferraris/146 cars in your garage that you have earned a medal with at the same time. Evo Kazz
Satnite what your forgetting is that to buy all the disc cars and november ones will cost a fortune in credits, most people it will take weeks to make the money, I know people say money in Horizon is easier than Forza 4, but thats bullshit, in Forza 4 I have 180million credits sat there wasting away, in Horizon my balance is 1million after buying 136 cars, still not enough for the achievement, to make this bearable you'll need to buy the december pack and any other packs you can afford to milk the cheap cars from those packs, if you only buy the november pack, you will need millions of fredits, plus you'll need 10mill just for the GTO. People be sure to find all the barn cars and download the free pack cars aswell to aid in this, one barn find is a shelby you WILL need, regardless if its only 400msp or not for Nov pack, Turn 10 are fucking scumbags, they are bigging up FREE DLC...and if you dont care about achievement...great, but if you do want to max this game, the DLC is not free at all, at bare minimum its 400msp (not too bad) but the FREE is very misleading, and a cheap kick in the balls for us achievement collectors. Why should we suffer because their shitty Season Pass didnt meet sales expectations with their copy and paste DLC from Forza 4...disgusting. Sorry most of that is just lazyness. 400 ms points is all that is needed to get these achievements. When I got to yellow rank 50 online I owned around 140 unique cars including the Ferrari GTO. If people don't want to play the game to get credits that is their decision and they can not "validly" accuse Turn 10 / MS / PG of forcing or encouraging them to buy more dlc to make the achievements easier. And for the record although my hardcore achievement hunting days are over I want these achievements. Facts are facts 400 ms points is all that is needed. Anything else is your own decision to spend more real world cash. If people do not know how to make quick credits in the game then they do not deserve the title of achievement hunter in my opinion. I actually left sites like this for a while because people always tried to find achievement shortcuts. That is a choice to make and if it requires real world cash you can not blame anyone but yourself if you choose to spend it. EDIT: and for the record the Ferrari GTO is not needed for the achievements and that is even mentioned in a post earlier in this very thread....waa waa. Another trait of a lot of achievement hunters - they overcomplicate achievements and game completion. Evo Kazz
It's not a case of waa, waa, if they advertise it as free, then free it should be, ok as I said 400msp is not too bad, but then it's not free is it?? Yes the November Car Pack is enough, but gaining all the credits to buy every car needed will take ages, sure it's our decision to take shortcuts, and to beat this achievement list in any decent time you'll need more cars. As for earning money in Horizon, well done on level 50 online, but most people here dont wish to play the shitty online for ages, or grind the same Street Race over and over. I played for fun back when the game came out, and didn't have much fun back then, now me, and many others here want this shit over with asap so we can move on...if your the ex achievement collector you claim to be you'll understand this mindset... PS congrats from breaking away from the addiction of achievements, if you have a sure fire cure let me know lol
DEG23
I think what you're failing to understand is that the content is free, but the achievements are going to cost you. Despite what you think, the two are separate from one another. I'm not an addicted achievement hunter but it concerns me when you say "now me, and many others here want this shit over with asap so we can move on I don't think i'll ever understand this mindset because to me, gaming has always been the one activity I do because I enjoy it, not because it's a chore. Without sounding rude, perhaps you should give this DLC a miss, it sounds like it will cause you more grief than enjoyment.

No your not being rude at all...gaming should be fun, however achievements have changed that for some...I have had comms with many a folk on this site, who feel the same as me, they buy games, play them, sometimes even enjoy them, but a lot buy the DLC for the sake of maxing the game, sometimes we hit a game we dont enjoy...we finish it regardless, then even go as far to buy the DLC...its all part of the fun and OCD of collecting these little bastard things that go blip blip lol.
