xCOBRAx
So i have to get a new microphone for rock band because it was one of the many things stolen from my house and i was wondering what i needed to look for in one. will this one work? http://www.zzounds.com/item--SAMQ1UCW and is there anything cheaper? with tax and shipping i might as well go down to target and pick up Karaoke Revolution for the same price and get the mic from that. Any thoughts would be helpful.
OldWIKI TIK
Looks to me like it should work fine. They say any usb mic will work and I use a non-usb with an adaptor and it works.
Matrarch
Stolen from your house? Sorry to hear that man. Any USB mic should work as Wiki said. I'm guessing that American Idol mic would be USB and as such would be compatible. Don't know for sure though. :/
zlionsfan
Yes, the American Idol mic is USB and should work with Rock Band. (Like Wiki, I have a non-USB mic I use for Rock Band. I'll check the AI mic quickly just to be sure.) The sad thing is that I have to use the AI mic for AI because they somehow manage to mute non-USB mics in AI. EDIT: works just fine. You should be able to use the KR: AI mike and sing normally into it (not having to boost it way up or sing loudly, as opposed to what I have to do in KR: AI itself). Dex
thanks for the replies guys, i ended up just picking up the logitech mic that the guy above me posted about. It was 29.99 at gamestop which was a lot better than buying KR:AI bcuz i didnt really want that game to begin with $30, really? For that price I would have bought an official mic. There are some at Best Buy/Circuit City... and an even cooler one in the RB store: http://www.rockbandstore.com/detail.php?p=61217&v=rbs_rock_the_game_game_and_gear http://www.rockbandstore.com/img/product/catl/00061217-443378.jpg Oh well... you've got a mic now. TwistedFate
how bout that 40$ drum throne! $40!! I only paid $48 for a Tama throne for my real kit and it's not even the cheapest one they make.
D3adKl0wn
$40!! I only paid $48 for a Tama throne for my real kit and it's not even the cheapest one they make. i paid $25+tax for a "rock*throne" made by i-con, it came with a bonus 10 ft usb extension and seems to be quite solid... as for the microphones, i've used the singstar for PS2 usb mics and they work fine as well as a usb headset that i "borrowed" from my work (call center) and it works well, as does the XBL headsets

Roaming Dragon
An alternative to all of them is your Xbox 360 headset. It comes free with your Xbox so basically costs nothing. The quality isn't that great to hear but it works all the same. -Roaming Dragon
