im rather frustrated with this game right now... I just recently yesterday traded in a few old ps2 games and decided to use my credit to get dead rising and i played to the part where you had to help brad kill that dude and i died there and so i had to restart from the security room, then i did the same thing two more times till i figured out how to kill him so i finally do that and then i go take him to find that old man and then when he runs off i decide to do a mission to go get the chick in the jewlery store the one who saw her baby eaten so i escort her out to the outside area courtyard i think is what its called and then the convicts show up and i just get destroyed by the mounted gun on the jeep so I drop her and just run and i get inside with one health bar and i go to stab this zombie in my way and i miss and he just hits me and i die... im pissed off really bad now... theres only 2 save spots in the game?? the hell is that?? ugh... is this worthy for me to give it one more try? i just dont want to get halfway through the game and not near a save point and die... i dont want a broken TV or Xbox.. or a hole in the wall.

You haven't even made it to the good stuff yet. This is a great game once you get the hang of the controls, so you should not turn it in yet.

As for the convicts, just stay against the walls, hide inbetween trees and get through as fast as you can. The more you start to unlock in the game, the more fun it will be. Wait until you get the Mini Chainsaws.

Also, you can save at any point as long as you are in the bathroom, security or the gym. Get as many PP as you can, level up quick and always save if you die early. Your character level carries over, so it is best to have a high level.

This game is SICK!!, there is the occasional frustration but once you get to see what the game has to offer, you wont want to stop playing.. so many things to do but takes some time to get bigger better weapons, moves, health etc..

While blinded with rage at first I came to love this game.

You need to level up it will be easier when you have more health/item slots. even if you die your stats/exp. carries over.

KEEP IT!!

This game has a somewhat steep learning curve but once you start getting the hang of it you won't regret hanging in there. And as mentioned above there are more than two spots where you can save. If you try and rescue the woman in the jewellery store again you can save in the gym on the same street. :)

Everybody starts off getting pissed off at this game because it seems very different than what people are used to playing. Trust me, finally having the ability to destroy the convicts was so monumental for me in that game, it felt really good.

Definetely keep that game dude. That game is amazing once you get the hang of it.;);)

One thing to keep in mind - it is designed for multiple playthroughs. You cannot do everything on the first playthrough - you can't save everybody or kill all the bad guys. Just do what you can. On your next playthrough you will be a higher level and you will be able to do more. Yes the saving system is rather old school. Just get used to saving every chance you get or you could get screwed. I hated the game at first like you, but after I realized how it was played I loved it and got all 1000 points.

I can feel your pain,... i felt that when i first got it as well. Like everyone on here has said this isnt your typical one playthrough game. You get what you can, most of all lvlup like as much as you can. Dont try to pick out a bunch of achieves, try to be concerned most on lvling...so next time around you can work on a set of them when your not weak and pathetic at first..(god i can remember..lol). Plus there is so much you can do and mess around compaired to other games, it speaks for its self. Heck im playing it again, sense i havent played sense it came out, and now i remember how much i liked this game. (let alone those missing achieves..lol)

I too hated this game because I thought it was too hard! I kept dying all the time and having to start again because the saving in the game is just ridiculous!

But every time I died I just saved and started again. I did this up until I was level 13. Then I found out about the tunnels under the mall. And not only that, the car, truck and bike you can ride around in there!!

Wait til you get to a slightly higher level, say around 10 or so (shouldn't take long), then fill up all your inventory slots with Orange Juice from the restraunt upstairs in Paradise Plaza (Wine from the food court is better, but then you would have to fight Carlito). Now make your was to the tunnels. It's around the top left of the park. Jump in the red car outside. Drive into the tunnels. And now the fun begins! Turn left as soon as you enter and mow down every zombie in your path! You will eventually come to a dead end FILLED with zombies! Just do donuts in your car taking out as much as possible until your car breaks down. Now simply jump into the van there (the one closer to where you came in) and drive that back outside. Jump in the red car again and rinse and repeat. For a long, long time. 53,000+ is needed for the Mega Buster (and of course the Zombie Genocider achievement) After doing this from level 13 I ended up around level 36! Once you're at that stage you'll find the game MUCH easier!!

Just don't do what I did! I was so excited when I got the achievement I got myself killed so I could save it and then start again with the Mega Buster.... Yeah, no one told me you needed to FINISH THE GAME FIRST!! So make sure you let the 72 hours expire if you want the Mega Buster! (You've probably already eaten up a large amount of those hours killing all those zombies!)

In addition to making this game insanely easier, check some of the guides for locations on the following books;

Entertainment

Engineering

Criminal Biography

Once you have all 3 books kill Adam The Clown (again check guides for locations etc) and pick up his Small Chainsaw. This is the ultimate weapon in the game now. It lasts 2700% longer than usual and everytime you re-enter this place a new one spawns for you. But don't worry, you can actually go through the entire game only using 2. You could even just use the 1 at a push if you aren't killing as much! This is why you need to have a high level so that you have enough inventory space, as these books need to stay in your inventory for the remainder of the game.

But fear not, because you'll be taking down all future bosses/psychopaths in literally a few hits!! The Cult Leader who is supposed to be quite hard I killed him in 3-4 hits before he could even move!! It was laughably easy!!

So don't give up on this little gem of a game yet! Once you put the effort in you really do reap the rewards of a great game.

Here's hoping the sequel will be even better!!
